Chapter 4
When we get to my dads' house he helps me get my stuff out of the car. I can't stop myself from staring at the house. It was gorgeous!
There was a garden full of purple hydrangeas and yellow and pink carnations and a whole bunch of other plants that I don't know the name for. The house was made of stones and the roof was red.
I could hardly hear my dad calling me, telling me to hurry up and follow him. The inside of the house was as amazing as the outside. This house is amazing for me. Not just because of the looks on the outside, but what the architecture of it was. My dream job.
A woman who I assume is his wife, Susan, enters with a smile on her face.
"Hey Annabeth!" she says while pulling me into a bone crushing hug. "It's been so long since I last saw you. You've definitely grown up!"
"Nice to see you to Susan," I say trying to sound as enthusiastic as she did. Two boys run into the room arguing rather loudly.
"I wanna say hi to her first!" the boy with shorter hair screamed.
"No, I wanna say hi first!" The second boy with longer hair and lighter hair screamed.
"Hey guys, why don't you both say hi to me at the same time?" I say bending down to be their height.
They looked at each other and then put 3 fingers up. 3 2 1.
"Hi!" they said in unison. I couldn't help but laugh at them.
"Hi guys! I'm Annabeth! Now…. Which one of you is Matthew?"
"Me!" the boy with shorter hair said.
"Hi Matthew,, nice to meet you," I say putting my hand out for him to shake. Instead he pulls me in for a hug, " Thank you. Now that means that you must be Bobby!" I say turning my head to the boy with longer hair.
"Yes!" he says pulling me into another hug. I was getting hugged a lot today.
I then remember that my dad and Susan were standing there. They were both smiling. I smile back at them.
I knew that I made the right choice when I decided to come and live here.

After catching up with my family, my dad leads me to my room.
"Okay, close your eyes Annie," he says putting his hands around my eyes and walking me to my room, I'd assume, "alright, open."
It takes me a few seconds to adjust to the light, but once I get a good look, my jaw drops.
It was my dream room. The walls are a light gray, the desk, that has a macbook on it, is white. And so is all the other furniture. The only color in the room is my comforter on my bed, which is a violet purple. There's a flat screen on my wall, which has to be the biggest one I've ever seen. There is a door that leads to the balcony. There's a single bench looking out to a lake. I can see the sunset and it's beautiful.
I turn around and run to my dad and give him the biggest hug I possibly can. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I say jumping up and down.
"You're welcome baby," he says smiling, "I'll give you sometime to unpack."
Once the door is shut I run and jump onto my bed landing on my back. "I think I'm going to like it here."

After spending an hour unpacking, I walk over to my desk and open up the laptop and check my email. I see that I have 6 new emails.

I quickly click on the email from Thalia.
Hey Anna Banana,
I miss you sooooooo much already! It's so sad at school without you! I don't have anyone to hug to death! A lot of people have been giving Rachel crap for what she did to you. See Annie, people do care about you!
Now for something I know will be of some interest to you. Percy has been coming to me once a day to ask me how you're doing. He also says to make sure I let you know how sorry he is, and he hopes you'll forgive him.
But… on an amazing not, THE MUSIC PRODUCER! Call me as soon as you can!

Hearing about Percy made my heart jump a bit. Maybe he really did care about me. I shake my head and remind myself that I'm here in LA to forget about New York. I'm here to move on.
"hey I just met you, and this is crazy! But here's my number! So call me maybe!" I jump
onto my bed and grab my phone. I almost don't believe who's calling me. Percy. I quickly reject it, and throw my phone back onto the bed and start to walk away, when I hear it ring again. Percy, again. I reject it, again. It starts ringing again and again. I keep rejecting. Soon he starts leaving me messages. I click on it to hear what he wants.
"hey wise girl!" My heart beats really fast when I hear this. I never thought he remembered my nickname. "I know you probably won't call me back, but I really would like to talk to you. So please call me back!"
My phone rings for the 16th time so I finally decide to answer to tell him to stop calling.
"Annabeth!" he says sounding relieved.
"Hey," I say opening the doors to the balcony and sitting on the bench and pulling my knees up to my chest.
"Did you get my messages?"
"All 16 of them," I say forcing myself to steady my breathing.
"I just really wanted to talk to you."
"I figured," I say trying to sound annoyed, while inside I'm dying. He called me 16 times. He really wanted to talk to me!
"I just want you to know I wasn't laughing at you." I roll my eyes. "I would never laugh at you. And I don't pretend to be your friend, I really do like-"
I cut him off because if I don't I know I wouldn't be able to stay calm. "Look Percy, its okay. You don't need to apologize. Your conscience is cleared. You don't need to call me anymore" I say wiping the tears that escape my eyes.
"Annabeth wait, I'm not only calling so you'll forgive me. I wanted to see if you're okay."
"I'm fine. But Percy I need to go. Thanks for calling." I say hanging up. As soon as I press the end button, all the tears I was holding back, pour down my face. If I forgive him, I wouldn't be able to leave New York behind.
At that moment I realize that I need to forget Percy. Forget that I'm completely in love with him. Cause I need to move on. And he's holding me back.
I walk into my room and start looking for it. As soon as I find it, I pick up my phone and dial. After 3 rings someone picks up.
"Will Thomas"
"Hello Mr. Thomas, it's Annabeth Chase. The girl from the plane. I was calling to see if you were still interested in having a meeting with me."
