'~CHAPTER 17~'
~~~East Side~~~
Charity's POV
"Sorry, I'm late," I apologize, reaching the meeting place DJ had set for our stake out, "Got delayed back at the north side."
"Who's staying up for the night over there?" Katz curiously asks, placing a lazy hand on her left hip.
"It's…I believe it's Darx," my wavered voice replies, adding a little nervous chuckle at the end, making Aver and DJ face palm.
"We have to take this risk anyway," DJ finally says, "Remember; this is our only chance to get Deadlox back. And, if he doesn't come here tonight, we'll take turns staking out here even in the day."
"Ok, so Aver is going to take the back. DJ's got the right; you've got the left; and I'll be hopping around the trees with my bow. So, if we see him, I shoot one arrow at him just to weaken him a bit," Katz explains the plan, pointing to the sequenced spots as she spoke, "Get in your positions."
~~~Southern Territory~~~
Servile's POV
Deadlox and I had made it at fifteen minutes out on our journey to the east side, most of it being silent. Nevertheless, it was really a comfortable silence. I felt comfortable around Deadlox, like I can tell him anything. Then again, I felt that way around Skar, when he was close to me, the most trustworthy out of the whole group even to Herobrine. I guess people change…
"Spider to your left, Servile!" Deadlox urgently speaks, nudging me from the right. I turn my head to a sharp left, hearing the word 'spider'. Notch I hate those things. I wield out my iron sword and kill the nighttime mob with two swings without a sweat.
"Nice job, Servile," Deadlox compliments, making me bashfully glance down for a few seconds. I had rarely been complimented by Skar… "Who taught you to swing a sword like that?" My breath hitches for a second. Should I say? I'm not sure if I should trust him…but I have to start somewhere if I want to gain his.
"BONJerome, a member of Skar's group, indirectly showed me," I finally respond, "He was training hard core one day, and I watched him for about an hour. I tried doing them myself and soon got the hang of it. He is known for always have a fire aspect iron axe, his weapon of choice…never leaves without it. I actually was supposed to be training myself, but…I don't know…"
~~~POV Change~~~
Darx's POV
"Darx, I think we sh-"
"Quiet, Ronan," I hush him, hiding behind a wide oak tree, "Hide!" Doing as I instructed, Ronan kept his cool even without even knowing what I was doing it for. Ronan was always like that; constantly listening instead of ordering, which was good. But in some of our previous cases, he really just needed to not listen but do something instead.
"Don't be so down about it," a soft voice is heard, recognizing it as Deadlox's, "What you have learned from them might have brought back some bad memories here and there. But, if we encounter them, you can at least know their strongest points and possibly their weakest points and hit them hard, lest we have to fight them." Ronan and I narrow our eyes at each other in curiosity mixed with some confusion.
Why would Deadlox be talking about possible combat? And who is it that Deadlox is talking to? We haven't even taken a glimpse at his face properly yet! I tell Ronan through motions to walk out in plain sight to the two Minecraftians. Ronan hesitates but responded with a defeated facial expression. I get a good grip on my bow and a single arrow in case any threats were made.
I held my hands behind my back with Ronan walking out first. Their responses involved few gasps and the wielding of two iron swords. I draw my bow back only slightly but soon make eye contact with the mystery Minecraftian and so did Ronan. I know now! Drawing my bow back, I was about to fire until Ronan stepped out in front of me, blocking my shot.
"Darx wait," he halts me, but I kept my bow charged and ready. Ronan then turns to the travelers, his arms relaxed by his side, "What are you doing out here?" he asks, facing the mystery Minecraftian also known as…ServileSorcerer.
"Venturing out," Servile defensively responds, "I'm sure it's safe to now ask what are you two doing out here in the forbidden territory." Ronan turns to look at me, silently asking me to answer. I have told stories of my 'legendary encounters' with Skar and his group, Servile being one of them. I hated him the most…him and his stupid potions.
"We were looking for Deadlox," I flatly reply, warily watching Servile and his sword in his grasp by his side, "And it seems like he's with you right now." I finish facing said Minecraftian.
"Why are you looking for me?" Deadlox question, raising a challenging eye brow at me, making me that more impatient to just kill at least one of them.
"My friend Ronan and I are from the north side of the dimension. We heard news from the east side that you went missing and figured you were out here or in the Nether," I casually but seriously say, breaking their defensive walls bit by bit, as I opened up, "There was glow stone dust near your bedside and Hope found crushed Netherrack in your headset."
"My headset," Deadlox repeats in realization his hands traveling to his head, messing up a bit of his dark brown emo hair…not impressing me that much, "I never realized it was gone."
"One wouldn't expect you to remember when your life is at stake," Ronan comments, gaining Deadlox's attention. My attention though was caught on Servile, as his was on mine. He didn't seem like he wanted to even hide it, as he out rightly stared at me for a solid minute.
"What do you mean by 'when my life is at stake'?" Deadlox worriedly questions, causing me to subtly look at him like he was crazy.
"You're little friend over here is actually part of it, aren't you ServileSorcerer?" I ready my bow once again, but the arrow faced down to the grass-covered ground.
"I am not anymore, Darx; I swear on my life," Servile speaks, his own defensiveness winding down, "I have changed."
"Give me one reason as to why I should believe you," I challenge back, "For all I know, you are right now putting up an act."
"I had made a potion unintentionally," Servile solemnly replies, "It was honestly a mistake, I had put something wrong in it, and it turned me normal…to some extent."
"Define…to some extent," I slide the arrow back in my bag slung behind me.
"I still have the powers I had when I was with SkartheDemonHB," the sorcerer firmly says. The seriousness in his voice was only enough to convince me half way.
"And you can still control your sanity when you…you know," Ronan wonders aloud, eyeing Servile.
"Yes, I can," Servile assuredly nods his head, "Only for a certain amount of time, as I have found out by experimenting. I can last exactly an hour and ten minutes, but to be on the safe side, I don't keep that form on past an hour."
"Ok then," I sigh, as softly as possible, "Where are you heading?"
"Well, we were going to the East building," Deadlox responds, looking at Ronan then me, "I'm sure the Minecraftians over there have noticed my absence by now."
"Yes, they have," I reply, walking towards said building, "They planned a search for you recently. I just hope they haven't split up already."
~~~West Side~~~
MinecraftUniverse's POV
"I still can't believe it!" Katz squeals, making Ray roll his eyes, "I actually won that survival games!"
"Yeah, yeah, yeah, sis that's great. Can you please stop announcing that to the whole Heroverse now?" Ray whines, entering the west building first, followed by me, then Katz, then Annabel. I knit my eye brows in curiosity and confusion behind my visor, not that anyone would notice.
"Heroverse?" I ask again, hoping that they'd clear my thoughts of this curiosity before it kills me. Ray and Katz turned to me upon hearing my single-worded question.
"I felt like this dimension has to have a name so…why not call it 'Heroverse'?" Ray replies, as if I knew already.
"Well, that's not a bad idea," an unknown voice comments, as it soon shows itself, coming through the window along with another Minecraftian. Or so I thought…
"W-who are you guys?" Katz asks afraid of the new strangers. I looked to the other three in the room. Ray was standing in front of Katz in defensive mode, as Annabel had narrowed her eyes in anger at the two.
"Ah, a new comer have we?" the other Minecraftian amusingly says, facing me, "Let me introduce myself. My name is xMpRx13 or Bryan, if you will."
"And I'm…CaptainCrazy," the other smirks, tilting his head down in that creepy way.
"Hey, you're the one who rigged us in the survival games earlier," I say in realization pointing to the one who identifies himself as CaptainCrazy, "What gives?"
"Don't worry about that. You're kill was just an extra," Crazy waves dismissively, confusing me even more, "We'd actually like to talk to Annabel here." Ray, Katz, and I simultaneously turned to said girl, who now looked scared to death. It looked like realization hit her, as she grabbed a sword and ran out the front door; CaptainCrazy and Bryan running after her and a few seconds later us too.
