'~ CHAPTER 18 ~'
~~~Back in the Overworld…~~~
Third Person's POV
"This seems to be the place we came out of," Skar observes, placing the right amount of glow stone back in its place. Seto and Ryan only watched in confusion, wondering where Skar was going with this. Seto's body stiffened for a second, as BONJerome adjusted his grip on Seto's upper left arm. Ryan was in the same position as Seto but with Netherverse to his right, and BajanNethernian along with Lavalox was hanging around Skar, as he tried to figure out the mysterious portal, "But what does it need…?"
"Human," BajanNethernian turns to Seto, "How does one get into the Herobrine Dimension? Speak!"
"I-I-I don't know how," Seto nervously but truthfully responds, moving his shoulders as much as he could, "Five of my friends claimed they were going to the Aether, and we can't find them. The only portals we know how to make are the Nether and the Aether portals."
"Oh dear Herobrine!" Skar dramatically says, "Guess now I have to do this…" Skar flattens his lips, his hand slowly reaching for the glow stone frame. Right once his fingertips touched the frame, Skar froze…and he saw it…
"Guys! Help me!" Jerome suddenly yells, cutting off Sky. He was being sucked into the portal!
"Hold on, biggums!" Bajan screamed next, getting a grip on Jerome's right hand. It only helped so much, as Bajan was now started to lose grip of the ground. Deadlox was the next to latch onto Benja, grabbing his waist, but they too were having trouble, as half of Jerome's body was in through portal, and it certainly wasn't coming back out. Sky let out a high-pitched squeal, latching onto Deadlox's shirt holding his friends stomach area. By now Jerome was nowhere to be seen, and Benja's arms were slowly disappearing into the Aether portal.
TrueMU, the last one left to hold onto his friends, jumped into action, doing the same thing Sky was doing. But in the process of backing up, he slipped, sending him and his friends through the strangely, acting-up portal. The fiver friends piled up on top of each other, stars swimming around their heads. Sky shook his head trying to regain his clear sight. He finally looked to where the portal stood…and watched it break. The glow stone broke down to just dust and the water spilled to just a small pond, some water blocks were scattered too around the body of water.
"No…" Sky mutters, getting himself out of the pile and picking up the remains of the portal, "Someone pinch me, this can't be-OW!" Sky yelps, swiftly turning Jerome, who had apparently pinched Sky.
"But you just asked for some-"
"Forget it, Fluffy," Sky waves his hand dismissively. He then glanced back at the insufficient pieces of glow stone in his hands, groans coming from his friends in the background, "How are we going to get back home…"
Skar gasped, regaining his regulated breathing after seeing…that.
"Skar, are you ok?" Lavalox solemnly asks, standing by his side, as Skar had dropped to the floor two seconds after seeing the past. All eyes were one him, as Skar slowly got himself off of the ground, Lavalox taking a step back for his leader.
"Yes…I'm fine…" Skar blankly replies, dusting his scarlet pants, "Apparently, your friends had been sucked into our dimension by accident and did not go to your Aether," Skar says, facing Seto yet again, "Looks like we have another mission on our hands," Skar finishes, smirking, as he turns back to the portal.
"So, how did they do it?" BajanNethernian questions, walking and standing to Skar's left, looking up and down at the portal with Skar.
"It looked like they made an Aether portal the way they were supposed to," Skar explains thoughtfully, "But something went wrong and triggered our dimension. If there was a way to get here properly…then there should be a proper way to get back."
"How can you be so sure?" TrueNU asks, "Herobrine transferred us himself. What if only 'he' can bring us back and we are wasting our time."
"No; I'm sure there's a way," Skar replies in an assured tone. His finger rests just above his upper lip, as he took another few steps back and forth, pondering what one might do in a situation like this. Then again, how can one? Like this has ever been experimented before by Minecraftian kind! "Our dimensions seem to be opposite than this one's. So if this is made of a glow stone frame then…"
Skar's light bulb turns on, as he reaches into his pants pockets first checking his right one then his left one, soon enough finding the item he desired: flint n steel. He then takes said item and brought it to the shining frame and quickly slid the item across the bottom left of the glow stone-made structure. Purple shaded in the empty space between the frame, and purple particles started emitting from the center, just as a normal portal would.
"Perfect," was Skar's only pleasurable comment, taking a few seconds before stepping into the portal. Everyone took a step back in shock, as Skar was being teleported. Mixed expressions were sent back and forth from Skar's crew, Ryan, and Seto; there was even an exchange of looks between Seto and BONJerome. Skar soon enough steps back out of the newly created portal, stumbling a bit on his entrance back.
"What was in there, Skar? Was it our dimension?" BONJerome hopefully asks slowly taking his step forward. Skar rapidly shook his head, regaining his consciousness before wearing a smug look on his face…
~~~East Side~~~
Hope's POV
"Anything guys?" I hopefully ask, turning to the others. A/N: Hopefully. Ha! I love my humor. All I got in response was sighs and the shaking of heads. My eyes were kept on Sky, as he loosely tossed his slightly used iron sword and plopped himself down on the love seat. His hands supported his head, as he bent forward, letting out another depressing sigh.
"Cheer up, Sky," Twister coos, sitting next to him, "It's just the first day of the search. We aren't giving up just yet, are we?"
"No, I'm not giving up," Sky softly yet defensively replies, turning to Twister, "I'm just…I don't know. I'm a bit doubtful, ok." Sky admits, making my sadness appear on my face, "I've never been a situation like this. What if whoever or…whatever took Deadlox killed him? Or what if Deadlox couldn't take it anymore and killed himself?"
"Sky-"
"Deadlox is a good guy! My best friend! I should be the one who was captured," Sky continues, ignoring Aver's voice. 'When did he come in…?'
"Sky, listen to me!" I walk over, grabbing the collar of his top, successfully shutting him up, "I…miss him too; we all do. And do not say that you should be in Deadlox's place. You did nothing wrong."
DJ's POV
"Deadlox didn't either," Sky argues, his voice volume downing a bit, "We were both in the same room. Why him?"
"That's what we're trying to figure out," Hope calmly says, relaxing Sky physically to some extent, "And we'll get to the bottom of this."
"DJ, come over here," Charity urgently waves over, peering over the jungle tree she was on. I jumped a few tree tops to hers immediately looking in the same direction as Charity, "I see Darx and Ronan a few blocks away." I strain my view for a second for spotting said Minecraftians…and two others?
"Who is with them? Can you tell?"
"That's what I'm trying to figure out," Charity responds in a nonsensical tone, parkouring to another jungle tree top, trying to get a better view. I kept my spot, seeing if she missed any valuable sights below. And alas, she did. I could faintly see one of the unknown strangers. His features, they were familiar…too familiar…
"Guys, it's Deadlox down there," I finally said after my short shock state, "We have to go down and get him. He's almost to the east building."
"We can't go down there just yet," Katz grabs my hoodie before I could take my first leap, "Darx and Ronan are there. If we jump down now in front of them, our cover would be blown."
"But we can't let Deadlox be found out."
"They've already been found out by Darx and Ronan. Face it, DJ; the mission has failed," Charity solemnly replies, turning away and making her way in the direction of the north side. I let out a small anger-filled huff before dismissing Katz with a wave of my hand. Katz went her way towards the west side, as I tried to find a way inside the east building.
~~~West Side~~~
Annabel's POV
My breathing patterns were starting to get rapid, as I continued to sprint away from the west building, Bryan and CaptainCrazy hot on my tail. If I wasn't so skilled in maneuvering my way through the jungle trees, I'm sure I would have been caught by now. I took the risk and looked back for a second to see if Katz, Ray, or TrueMU were following, but of course I saw none of them. 'Ok, I think I can do this…' I bit my lip, stopping in my tracks, firmly standing in place. Crazy and Bryan stopped too about ten grass blocks from me.
"Ready to surrender, Annabel?" Crazy challengingly asks with a hint of assumed victory in his voice. I narrowed my eyes at him, giving back my response. I took a great leap about them, as if I had a jump boost potion effect and encircled them in a ring of fire. I landed back on my spot, seeing both of them put out a small flame that had touched their clothing. Bryan looked to me first immediately angered by this and sent me a cold death glare. 'Like they haven't seen me done that before;' I scoffed in my mind. I rarely used my powers when it comes to fighting, but with these two pricks here, hand-to-hand combat wouldn't work.
"I see how you want to play it," Bryan slyly replies, stomping the ground as hard as he can. The action caused the ground I was standing on to erupt, pushing me into the air. Crazy was the next to make a move and put out water extensions from his arm, attempting to grab me. He successfully caught me, cutting my air supply. It was hard trying to keep myself calm as I tried to think of something. Since I was only fire type I couldn't win against CaptainCrazy. Then out of nowhere, someone threw a small cobblestone block at Crazy, making him lose his concentration, letting me fall to the ground. It hurt but at least now I have air.
"Over here, idiots!" a familiar voice called out to the two, gaining their attention. It was MinecraftUniverse!
"Oh boy," I heard him mutter before running himself. The two Herobrine helpers now chased him, ignoring my presence. With a worried look on my face, I followed the trio's direction, taking the tree top path.
MinecraftUniverse's POV
I kept running in the direction I came from…I was starting to regret making such a move like that. And why were they targeting Annabel?
"You can't run forever, Netherverse!" one of the Minecraftians behind me shouted, both of us not stopping, "Be a man and accept Herobrine's consequences!"
As if the first sentence confused me enough, 'accept Herobrine's consequences'? Suddenly, I felt a small heat wave behind me, followed by a high-pitched yelp. I abruptly stopped running and looked back to see that a crisp fire line burned between me and the other two. We three looked up simultaneously to see Annabel on top of one of the jungle trees.
And just like that, she jumped right down on front of the two Minecraftians, waving me in the opposite direction. I only slowly walked backwards, keeping my eyes on Annabel as she held out her hands towards the two, who fearfully stared back at Annabel. Her eyes glowed like a bright fire for a few seconds before cooling down.
"You two come near me and the girls…and you're dead," she growled softly at them, but good enough for me to barely hear, "And I will not let you go this time." Annabel's hands then rested by her sides with an abrupt swing, and they scrambled off. After watching them leave our presence, Annabel turned my direction and stormed my way, heading towards the west side's building, "Do not ask," she sternly stops me from saying anything. I jogged a bit, trying to keep up with her, as we made our way back to the west side.
A/N: So, just an add on in this author's note, starting from the next chapter, I will be slowly easing into the ending of this fanfic. Things are going to get more intense as each chapter is posted (or as how I see it). More drama is going to appear, more questions and (possibly) answers are going to reveal themselves, friendships are going to be tested, and I have a HUGE ending planned. I have also decided I'd love to do a goal of reaching 10,000 views and maybe even reach 100 reviews on this? I don't know! If that would happen that would be AMAZING and it would encourage me even more as an author. Thanks for reading this, and I'll see you in future chapters!
