A/N: Yes, it's been a very long time since I've last updated. I'm not dead, though, and I intend to finish this before the new year. Merry Christmas, everybody!

"Anna, slow down, you're not making any sense! What do you mean, he's back?" asked Elsa as she pulled Anna down onto one of the benches in the garden.
"Kristoff is the Wendigo! Well, he's not the Wendigo, not the first one, but he became another one! It spread to him!" cried Anna, on the verge of tears.
"Anna, I'm sure there's a perfectly reasonable explanation for whatever happened out there," Elsa said as she took Anna's hands and held them to keep her steady. Elsa didn't want what Anna was saying to be true in any case. She'd grown fond of Kristoff over the short period that she'd known him and to think that he could be somehow turned to darkness as well was unsettling.
"Why can't you believe me? Would I lie about something like this?" asked Anna as she began to sniffle. "Do you think I want this to be true?"
"I, well, um, no, of course not," said Elsa as she pulled Anna into an embrace. For a moment, Elsa thought that Anna felt colder than she should, colder than was possible, but she dismissed it as unimportant. Anna had just returned from her escape from the now evil Kristoff. She was bound to be a little cold.
"Aw, how sad. The little monster thinks it's human," came a voice from above them. It was high pitched, and radiated menace.
Elsa looked up and couldn't believe her eyes. Up on one of the balconies was a blue skinned woman with long, flowing white hair and a dress similar to what she'd created when she first let go. The only difference was that the dress seemed to be the kind that Anna favored, with ripples and delicate weaves.
She was also floating several feet above the balcony itself and was surrounded by a mass of wintry air. On her head was a golden crown with three points, each with a red stone set into the middle of it.
"Kristoff?" asked Elsa as she looked closer.
"Don't be daft. Would Kristoff choose to wear a beautiful thing like this?" said the stranger with a twirl.
"Of course not," said Elsa and the voice clicked in her mind. It was off, like something from a nightmare, but Elsa felt foolish for not recognizing it. "Anna? How is this possible?" asked Elsa. She looked at the Anna in her arms and stepped away from her.
The Anna she'd been holding was no longer crying and had instead fixed an angry glare upon the Anna that now floated above them. The Anna next to her quivered with a Rage unlike any she'd ever seen; Elsa could feel the raw hate rolling off of her.
"What's going on?" Elsa ask as she glanced from one Anna to the other; rage filled and ice powered, neither one anything like her true sister.
"Isn't it obvious?" said rage!Anna, spitting the words from her mouth as she spoke. "Kristoff is trying to trick you."
Ice!Anna burst out laughing, the fired a blast of ice at rage!Anna.
"Don't be absurd; Kristoff could never look this good, impostor," said ice!Anna. Ice!Anna then gave out a joyful scream and dove down at rage!Anna, her hands extending out into claws as she tackled her.
Rage!Anna howled and Elsa watched in horror as she changed; her teeth sharpened into points and her nails extended as she attacked ice!Anna.
On instinct Elsa began to summon her magic to defuse the situation, but she wavered back and forth between the two before pulling it back. She didn't know what was going on and at this point she had no idea who was who. It was clear that ice!Anna and rage!Anna dead-set against one another, though, as Elsa watched rage!Anna shimmer and shift, transforming into something larger and more hungry than before. Her teeth began to extend out into fangs that didn't fit her mouth and her face became taut and strained.
Ice!Anna, meanwhile, threw ice ball after ice ball at rage!Anna, each one only just missing. She didn't seem upset by this, though. She seemed giddy, almost drunk.
"Elsa, why didn't you tell me that ice was this much fun? Oh, we're going to have so much fun once Hans, naughty cross-dresser that he is, is put down like the dog he is," said ice!Anna as she soared through the air.
Elsa looked over at rage!Anna and was horrified to see that now her face had begun to crack as her skin darkened, like a clay pot left left in the oven too long. Flares of white light shone through each tear on her skin as she fought.
"What are you?" Elsa asked as she staggered away from the two creatures who each claimed to be her sister.
Ice!Anna didn't hear her over the sound of her own giggles and rage!Anna was busy warping her body yet again. She looked even less human now; her legs had grown longer and thicker, her pale skin cracking as well. Her feet didn't even look human anymore; they more like claws now. Her ears now tapered off into points and the white streak in her hair had spread, although it had a natty, brownish look now.
"Elsa!" cried a voice from behind her.
Elsa spun, powers at the ready and gasped when she saw who it was.
"Woah! It's me, I swear," he said, backing away as Elsa raised her arms with tiny pinpricks of ice magic hovering in front of them.
"Prove it," said Elsa, still on guard.
"Look at me; do I look like a monster to you?" asked Kristoff as he held up his hands and took a step back.
Elsa looked him over and while he looked more or less the same as the man that had come into the palace before, there was one fundamental difference. The other Kristoff's eyes had, in hindsight, seemed angry and cold. The man before her just seemed warm and his eyes were bright.
Elsa sighed, pulled back her ice and embraced Kristoff. He seemed stiff at first, but soon relaxed and returned the hug.
"What is going on?" asked Elsa as she stood back from Kristoff, her arms still draped over his shoulders.
"It's a long story. Well, it's not a long story, but it's a weird one," said Kristoff as his hands drifted down to her waist.
Elsa hadn't realized how kind Kristoff was until something else had taken his place and she was glad he was back. Then she realized what they were doing and took a sudden step back.
Kristoff blinked in surprise then he took a step back, clearing his throat as he did so.
"Come on, Anna and I made a plan to deal with this; you'll like it," said Kristoff as he took her by the hand and began to race ahead.
Elsa followed as close behind him as she could, up winding staircases and down halls until she saw where they were going.
"What are you making in there?" asked Elsa when they arrived at the armory. She saw a few piles of the silverware all being melted down and poured into molds. She let go of Kristoff's hand and went in to take a look.
They'd taken a mass of crossbow bolts and were melting the silver over the point, dipping it into a bucket of water and going on. Each time the pile got big enough, another worker would come and collect it and begin loading up a crossbow. Out in the hall there was a row of guards, all holding crossbows and all looking determined.
"You think that a silver arrow will stop it? It's not a werewolf, Kristoff. It's a Wendigo," said Elsa as she picked up one of the bolts and poked it.
"Anna said silver hurt it, and at this point it's as good as anything else we've done," said Kristoff as he grabbed a crossbow of his own.
"How will we till which one's the real Anna?" said Elsa as she put the bolt down. The smith looked up at her when he noticed the movement, bowed, then went back to work.
"Oh that's easy enough. Anna's the flying one. The other one is Hans," said Kristoff as he went out into the hall, Elsa at his side all the while. The guards fell into step behind them.
"That was Anna? She looked so … so …" Elsa trailed off as she tried to find the right words.
"Crazy? Mad-eyed?" supplied Kristoff with glance at her.
"Yes, I suppose," said Elsa with a sigh. "What did she do to herself? I can't imagine that she gained powers over ice and snow just like that."
"Oh, that's simple enough. The Wendigo Heart really wanted to help, so it shapeshifted to look like a crown and Anna put it on. That's when she got the ice powers and the crazy eyes," said Hans.
Elsa stopped in her tracks. "You let her do what?" she asked Kristoff. "Because it sounds like you said you let her …"
"I know, I know, but we didn't have a lot of options at the time, alright? Besides, I don't think it's focused on anything but Hans right now so it's not exactly going to try and run off," said Kristoff, hands up.
Elsa scowled. "Fine, but I still don't like it," she said as they went out onto a balcony overlooking the garden.
The guards each split off and found their own balconies and windows, each one taking careful aim at the battle raging below.
The garden was a wreak, half covered in ice and half ripped apart. Anna was still flying about, laughing like a madman and spraying liberal amounts of ice all over the garden below. Hans no longer even remotely resembled Anna; he looked more like a beast from a fairytale than anything that might be considered human. The only call back to his attempted desception was the dress he still wore, now hanging in tatters off of his monstrous body.
"You can't win, Anna. I bet the Wendigo before; how do you even hope to stand against me? Your sister might do the job, but I doubt it. It's only a matter of time now," said Hans, pacing back and forth on the ground beneath Anna.
Anna tittered. "I might not beat you, that's true, but you've still lost. You're dead; we'll hunt you like a dog and you can't do anything about it. We'll rip you apart and burn your body, then dance in the ashes," said Anna in a sing-song voice. It was disturbing to hear her say it like that. That was the end plan, of course, but she sounded orgasmic when she described it; it was as if she was drawn to the death and dismemberment of the whole thing.
"End it," said Elsa as she glanced over to Kristoff.
He nodded, then took aim and fired. Every other guard followed after, not one missing their target.
Hans roared at them in defiance as he was riddled with crossbow bolt but they didn't stop. Each bolt tore into him like a hot knife through butter and Hans could only scream as his powers did nothing to stop them. He tried to leap away, but Anna blasted the door and covered it with a dome of a ice so thick that it might take a normal man weeks to hack through.
After that it was a simple task to take him down. Working in concert, Hans was dead within a few minutes. Elsa worried about knowing when he was dead, but his body soon began to decay, rotting back into his human form within a few moments. Elsa froze it over just to be safe.
"Kristoff, tell the guards to destroy him. Nothing is to be left of him once they're done, do you hear me? I don't want a single bone or scrap remaining," said Elsa.
Kristoff nodded and began to go before turning about towards her. "What about you? Are you OK?" he asked.
"I'm fine. I just need to ensure that Anna's fine as well," said Elsa as she turned to go out to the balcony.
