"Anna? Are you alright?" asked Elsa as she leaned over the balcony.
"Elsa! Elsa Elsa Elsa I am doing great! How are you? Are you doing well? I'm glad!" said Anna as she dove down and began to hover in front of Elsa. Her eyes twitched and she looked as if she'd raided the coffee machine in another attempt to make the most powerful coffee imaginable.
"Anna, could you perhaps land on the balcony? It's disorienting to talk to you while you hover," said Elsa as she stepped back to make room.
Anna took a deep breath and gave a dramatic sigh, bubbling her lips as she did so.
"I guess," she said at last, spraying a blast of snow onto the balcony and plunking herself down into the middle of it, not a care in the world as to how cold it was.
"So Kristoff tells me that that's the Wendigo Heart you're wearing," said Elsa after she conjured up her own rather more sophisticated chair. She was proud of this kind of chair, as it even felt like it had cushions. They were lumpy cushions but it was a good start.
"Mmhmm! It's been very helpful too; the Crown has shown me so much about the powers of ice and snow and other things too! It says it can help us live forever if we really want it too," said Anna. She leaned forward as she spoke and the Wendigo Heart, still in the shape of the Ice Crown, tilted forward down her forehead.
Elsa tried as hard as she to not react to this; Anna didn't have ice powers. So far as she knew, Anna was completely normal. A small part of her was excited of course; an Anna with her own Ice Powers was an Anna that couldn't be hurt by accident. On the other hand, a much larger part of her was terrified of the price for these powers. What's more, she'd needed the dead Wendigo to help her open her powers and no matter what it said about its' feelings for her, she didn't want that thing affecting Anna.
"That's very interesting, Anna. I didn't know you had Ice Magic," said Elsa.
Anna laughed. "It was latent; the Crown said it just helped wake it up. I can feel it, you know. Right in my finger tips. The crown's helping me get it right now since I'm having trouble gripping it myself, but I'm sure I'll get hold of it soon!"
Elsa stiffened. "That's … that's very interesting. Is the Wendigo talking to you, then?" she asked, trying and failing to hide the fear in her voice. As strong willed as Anna was, the right thing said in the right way could send her tearing down a tangent that she'd follow to the bitter end, come hell or high water. As such, Elsa didn't want the Wendigo to be the one to direct her.
"Uh huh," said Anna with a cheerful nod. "Do you want to talk to him?" she asked.
Before Elsa could do anything else, Anna began shake and writhe, transforming before her eyes. Her nose a quired a long hook and the her eyes became pure black, with brilliant blue irises as the only sign of color.
"Hello Elsa. What do you think of my new look?" asked Anna in a deep, husky voice filled with ache and longing. She waggled her eyebrows at Elsa.
"Anna, are you alright?" asked Elsa she rose to stand.
Anna laughed and shook her head. "No, not Anna. I'm Ice Princess," said the creature using Anna's body.
"Wendigo, let her go," said Elsa, summoning and releasing ice magic all the while. She knew that it wouldn't hurt her; it was just nervous habit at this point.
"Ice. Princess. Not. Wendigo. The Wendigo are both dead. I'm new," said the creature, flouncing towards Elsa all the while. It shook Anna's hips as it walked as if to emphasize her curves.
Elsa took a few steps back as it walked up to her, but it just sped up until it was right there. It placed Anna's hand on her shoulder and began to rub it. "I have so many feelings right now. Maybe we should sort them out?" it said, giving her a sly smile as it did.
"Yes. Let's," said Elsa in a tone just as suggestive. She stepped closer to the creature in Anna's body, Ice Princess, and pulled her into an embrace. Ice Princess melted in her arms and went for a kiss. Elsa leaned into it and then, quick as lightning, her hand shot up to the Wendigo Heart and ripped it away from Anna.
The change was instantaneous. Anna's hair shortened and returned to its natural strawberry blond color, her nose transformed back and her eyes cleared up. It took Anna a few moments longer before she broke the kiss, as if she'd not even been aware of her stupor.
When she did, though, she shoved Elsa away and began to wipe off her mouth.
"I am so sorry!" said Anna and she began to shiver. "I thought I could help and I just wound up ruining things," she cried.
"It's fine, although we do need to talk about strange magics, I think," said Elsa as she went over and hugged her sister. "Now let's get you into a dress that's not made of ice."
"Oh my god, yes! I am freezing in this thing," said Anna as she waddled back into the palace with Elsa at her side.
Later
"You know, I think I could do with a dress like that if it wasn't made of ice," said Anna as she sank into a hot bath that Elsa had had prepared as she guided Anna to her room. Despite the strange transformation that had turned Anna, not a single member of the staff blinked an eye at them, leaping into action once they were sure that Anna was feeling alright.
"I'll get right on that," said Elsa with a laugh, sinking into the far end of the bath. It was a rather large sized bath, more than large enough for a whole clan of sisters. When she'd remained locked away from the world, this had been one of the few luxuries she'd allowed herself. It was nice to share it with Anna now.
After they finished laughing, Elsa grew serious.
"Anna, about the crown," she began.
"We need to get rid of it," interjected Anna right away. "Maybe not destroy it, since it's not really evil anymore, but I don't want it around."
"Not evil? Anna, it killed dozens of people," said Elsa in a voice that wasn't quite harsh.
"The Wendigo did, yes, but I don't think that's the Wendigo anymore. It's changed, because of you and I. I don't think it had ever found anything quite like us before. I think that it's just lonely now," said Anna in a far-away voice.
"Would that be why it wanted to 'sort out its feelings' with me?" asked Elsa.
Anna tilted her head. "Sort out its feelings? It … wanted … you, but I don't know anything about feelings," she said.
"Do you remember what it did?" asked Elsa, leaning forward.
"Bits and pieces. I fought Hans and then we spoke, I think. It got fuzzy after that and then I woke up and we were kissing," said Anna, shuddering a little bit.
"Interesting. So, rune-inscribed box lined with lead tossed into the ocean, then?" asked Elsa.
Anna jerked up at the sudden change in conversation and nodded. "The deepest part. I feel bad for it, but not bad enough that I want it around," she said.
"So noted. Let's bind it up and send it down to the bay once we're dressed again. It don't want to wait a moment longer than I need to," said Elsa.
Anna opened and closed her mouth a couple times as if she wanted to protest, then nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Let's toss the damn thing." After a few moments, Anna said "I guess we can consider Hans punished, then."
"I suppose we can," said Elsa in agreement. "I'm sorry Hans ruined your dress. I know you liked it," said Elsa.
"It's alright. After he wore it so well, I don't think it would have felt the same anyway. He looked much better in it than me anyway. He can keep it," said Anna.
They laughed for a long while after that.
