Chapter 10
Pilot
"Yes. If she won't come home, then we'll just bring home to her."
"Sir, how can we do that?" the man questioned his boss.
"With science boy. We will pack up tonight and leave, we must make our way to the spot we arrived at; it's the only way to call it. She's linked to it and because of how we programed them, her conciseness will shut down and the machine will take over in till I say so."
The men that had followed Lankanotvitch to the spot they first arrived at and began working. Setting up the small devices to bring the machine to them. The devices were designed as a beacon for the machine; and the machine was piloted by Hitomi, though she was unaware of it. Lankanotvitch had the formula designed to cause black outs for her. She had no control over her body.
As for her mind, that is a problem I have to work out that particular issue having her remember the events is not beneficial.
"Sir, 20 minutes till it arrives." Lankanotvitch snapped out of his thoughts and paid attention to the test occurring before him.
"Very good, once it is here, I want you to set up the larger device to bring the secondary base here."
"Yes sir."
The test is a simple one. Bring what they can to this world, use the machine to force Hitomi to do her job, and now that he understands that this is a different plant, Rule it. The machine arrived ahead of schedule and sat quietly calling its pilot to it, the men set up the larger devices by attaching them to the smaller one to bring the base with them.
It had been two days since they started this and the base had arrived and inside was about 200 soldiers and scientists, all ready to their jobs.
-Hitomi's POV-
I could hear the wind in the trees and faint voices; but overall I felt the need to leave. I didn't want to leave Van, but the need to go to place was strong. I took a step forward and kept walking; I couldn't hear Van or anyone else around me that I saw, all I could hear was the wind in the trees and those faint distant voices. It reminded me of my time at the base only without the comforts of the nature. Something cold touched my feet but I kept walking forward; I felt something around my wrist but I couldn't make out what it was. I knew I was headed in the right direction it was where I needed to be I had to go there. I kept remembering the day I found out my dad and brother died, something wet landed on my cheek, rain? It must be rain what else could it be. I felt empty, I wasn't even sure what my name was, I just needed to walk in that direction; I needed to keep walking till I could no longer walk, till I reached my destination. Minutes later something soft and wet touched my feet but I kept going; I never understood where I was at that moment but everything seemed to be normal, empty but normal. I kept looking ahead towards my goal, there were tall green and brown things; I moved towards them. Van came to my mind again and I stopped for a minute and went to turn around but that pull towards those standing green and brown were compelling and I wanted to reach that goal, I moved forwards once again.
-Other POV—
It was nearly sunset and everything was ready to move once the pilot arrived we knew it would take about a day's hike to find this place; but she understands the land better than the men that traveled to the spot therefore her travel time will be less.
Six hours later there was a rustle in the trees from the eastern side and a young woman, wearing a sky blue dress, barefoot. Emotionless as she walked towards the camp, whispers were heard among the crew; no one ever saw the young girl in a dress before with her long hair down.
"Someone must have asked the question."
She stepped forward but before reaching the machine, some of the men lead her to the room to change into her suit. It didn't take long before emerging out in a tight black and navy one piece, showing off her body very well. She then stopped in front of the giant machine know as Zero, she climbed in and followed the reregistered orders.
-Vans POV—
Hitomi all a sudden took a step away from me, I grabbed her wrist which caused her to turn around she didn't seem like she back yet, her eyes were distant, but wherever she was going it was important, she turned right back around and kept walking so I followed closely behind. She took a path through the castle and the city that was avoiding the public eye, it was like she knew where she was going. She reached the west side of the castle wall and there was a hole, I'll get someone to fix that later, I followed her out the wall my eyes never left her. I watched her turn around, almost like she was fighting back but it seemed like she lost; I stayed behind when she started walking again.
It started raining and I didn't want her to get sick but she stepped into the forest 12 clicks away from the west wall, I followed her into the forest but I lost sight of her I kept looking and looking but I couldn't find her. I slammed my fist into a nearby tree, cursing. "I lost her damnit, damnit, damnit. Not again." I made my way back to the castle it wasn't till I was in the castle that I realized it.
"How stupid could I be, map I need to find a map. I think there is one in my study." I made my way to said study I waved at Allen but didn't really register what he said. I found the map in my study and pulled her necklace out; I remember Merle and Hitomi told me how they found me on Dilandau and my brother's ship. Her necklace was important to her so it should work, I closed my eyes and pictured Hitmoi and the pendent in my mind.
The pendent tightened and stopped, I opened my eyes a small clearing in the forest but then the pendent started to move east.
"Van, what does this mean?"
"Hitomi left and I lost her in the forest, but she seemed like she wasn't aware of what she was doing. Whatever happened, this is where she is." Suddenly the pendent loosened and started swaying again.
"Van, I never seen that happen before." I looked at Allen, he was there when Hitomi did these kinds of things more so then me, thinking about it she was trying to find me.
"I'll try again," there was a few moments of silence, something was wrong. "I can't see her."
I looked at Allen, then the pendent glowed and a voice boomed. "Stay away from my pilot. I need here to live."
Allens face dried and so did mine.
