Summary Sesshoumaru responds to Tenseiga's call and purifies the dead in Hell
Sesshoumaru stared at the corpses crawling toward Tenseiga. Just like Rin they were dead hulks and yet they desired to be saved. Saved from the pit of darkness into which they had been thrust. Just to touch Tenseiga was enough for them.
Sesshoumaru pulled back from his grief for a minute. Rin could not be saved by Tenseiga, but perhaps something could be done for the pile of zombies which surrounded him. Tenseiga was calling to them just as it was calling to him.
He raised Tenseiga into the air. It pulsed driving away the darkness. The dead halted knowing that their wish had been granted. At last they would find peace. The peace of nonexistence, but better than the horror being part of the pile of flesh in Hell.
One by one the bodies purified as the light shone on them. One by one their spirits ascended until all the dead in Hell were gone, save one. Only Rin remained. Only Rin remained to remind him of his folly.
The folly that sent him to Hell to train his sword. The folly that killed Rin. He could not save Rin All he could do was bring her body back from Hell. Sadly, he opened the Meidou Mother knew this would happen. She had some explaining to do.
