Summary Inuyasha ponders Sesshoumaru actions and angry words after he saves the Inutachi and Sunset Village
A flash. Total destruction Then an exit. But not before punching Inuyasha and lecturing him. Not that Inuyasha was not used to the punches and the lectures. Just now they hurt so much more because they came from Sesshoumaru.
The perfect brother. Lord of all he surveyed. Power beyond anything Inuyasha could ever hope for. When he took Tessaiga and Sesshoumaru's arm, he hoped that he could compte with his brother for once
Now he knew that hope was vain. Sesshoumaru found his own power within himself. Unlike Inuyasha he no longer needed his father's sword Inuyasha may have surpassed his father in power, but Sesshoumaru was fond a reminding him that he still needed it to seal his youkai blood.
Not that he would trade Tessaiga for Bakusaiga. Or his life for Sesshoumaru's He had Kagome She was worth everything to her his life was worth nothing. With her he could conquer the world.
Maybe that was it. Sesshoumaru was angry because Rin had been in danger. The Inutachi had been totally ineffectual against the foes that Sesshoumaru beat with one swing of Bakusaiga. Maybe there was more to it than flash and glam.
He had always been jealous of Sesshoumaru. His older brother was bigger, faster, stronger than him. Everything came easy for him. Tessaiga had bent to his will. He learned the Meidou without trying. Even used part of Naraku to make a vicious evil sword that only could use.
Yet Sesshoumaru had been genuinely angry at him for putting Rin's life in danger. He always thought his brother had no heart. Maybe he was wrong. Maybe Rin was his heart. His only vulnerable spot.
Inuyasha nodded with understanding. That was something to which he could relate. Kagome was his heart. If anything ever happened to her, he would lose everything. Similarly Sesshoumaru would be lost without Rin.
No wonder he was so angry. No wonder he took out his anger on Inuyasha. Underneath that flash and glam was a man who would be lost without Rin. Sesshoumaru might put on a good show. Pretend that he was master of all he surveyed.
Inuyasha now knew was just Rin's lap dog. Rin would have to be protected better in the trusted him to keep Rin safe when he could not be there. Inuyasha would not fail his big brother. If Sesshoumaru trusted him with Rin, he would make sure that she was safe.
