Chapter 44: An Arabian Nightmare!

Normal POV

After the large portion of the group left, Rapunzel was working around the clock healing and reviving the wounded and the fallen. Though they were grateful for her help they could also see she was getting very tired. Monger and Eugene came up to help. She looked like she would pass out anytime.

"Rapunzel. Take a break." Eugene told her. But Rapunzel shook her head.

"No I have to help these people." Rapunzel insisted.

"Young lady, there is no shame in resting up." Monger interjects. "Rest up and save your strength. After you regain your strength, you can resume."

"Thank you, General." Rapunzel nodded. "And I promise I'll bring back your old friend Stoik."

"I know you will." Monger nodded and smiled. "I have faith."

"Thank y-." But then suddenly Rapunzel got hit by the sound of sniper fire.

"RAPUNZEL!" Eugene shouted in fear as she ran over to her side.

"MAN DOWN! MAN DOWN!" Monger shouted. (She's not a man, but you get the idea.) "TAKE OVER!" Everyone scrambled and ducked for cover. Eugene carefully held Rapunzel in his arms.

"Rapunzel? Punzie!?" He shook her. But one look at her head explained it all. She was shot down, by a black sand sniper bullet. Eugene was struck with total grief. "R-Rapunzel. No." He whimpered. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

The Nightmare Man in question held a black sniper rifle. He fired from a far and safe distance. But it wasn't a safe enough distance as a raging Toothless and Hiccup mercilessly killed him in flames.

"No more killing!" Hiccup snarled. He then turned to his friends, who were flying on their dragon. "Circle around the outskirts of Manhattan. If you see any Nightmares, destroy them or report back to base if they're too strong!" He ordered. His friends nodded as they flew off. "Be careful Jack." He said to himself. "Make that bastard pay for what he's done."

Jack POV

After parting with the others, we entered those silent streets anxious to know the fate of the great city on the other side. Cautiously we made our way up Canal Street. We make my way to a road. No traffic. Here and there a wrecked car, baggage overturned, a blackened skeleton. We push on. We reached Fourteenth Street, and there again were black sand and several bodies, and an evil ominous smell from the gratings of the cellars of some of the apartments. There were a dozen dead bodies in the road, their bodies softened by the black sand. All was still, apartments locked and empty, shops closed but looters had helped themselves to wine and food, and outside a jewelers some gold chains and a watch were scattered on the street. We wandered up through the Thirties and Forties; stood alone on Times Square. Then caught sight of a lean dog running down Seventh Avenue with a piece of dark brown meat in his jaws, and a pack of starving mongrels at his heels. He made a wide circle around us, as though he feared we might prove to be fresh competitors. We walked up Broadway in the direction of that strange sand. Past silent shop windows, displaying their mute wares to empty sidewalks. Past the Capitol Theatre, silent, dark. Past a shooting gallery, where a row of empty guns faced an arrested line of wooden ducks. Near Columbus Circle I noticed models of 1939 motorcars in the showrooms facing empty streets. From over the top of the General Motors Building, we watched a flock of black birds circling in the sky. We hurried on. For some reason we all felt safer trailing these monsters than running away from them. And we do keep a careful watch. We all have seen the Nightmares. . . feed. Should one of them or a group of them appear, we are ready to fight.

"Hey um, guys?" A soldier spoke up. "Doesn't this seem to easy?"

"Yeah." Another soldier agreed. "We're making our way to the Empire State Building, and no Nightmares." I had to agree. I felt we were being toyed with, that when we were on the very verge of safety, this mysterious death would leap after us and strike us down.

"I know what you mean." I said. "No doubt we're being played with. To Pitch this is all nothing but a game to him."

"I can smell them." Adam spoke up. We all turned our heads to him. "They're lurking in the shadows. Waiting. Waiting for their orders to strike."

"Yeah, mate. I can smell and hear them too." Bunny said.

"You're right, Jack." Tooth spoke up. "This is nothing but a game to Pitch."

"Earth is the board. And WE the pieces." Heart spoke up. "I should know." He sighed making a face of guilt and shame. I could tell he was still felt guilty for being used by Pitch under his nose. Who wouldn't be after finding something like this out?

"I must admit." Anna spoke up. "I'm a little scared." She quivered. But Kristoff wrapped an arm around her.

"I'll be here to protect you. No matter what alright?" He smiled down at her. Anna smiled back.

"Alright." She nodded.

At last we reached the Empire State building. We all looked up at it. Looking at it from a distance it was dark. But looking at it now, it was completely black. I can tell it gave off an evil ominous aura that sent chills down our spines. We all crossed the dead street and came to the entrance.

"Prepare yourself, Pitch." I said to myself. And we walked inside. But again, it felt too easy.

"It's almost like we're being invited in." A soldier said.

"And I think we're getting the welcoming committee!" North said. "Look!" North pointed up. We all looked up and saw someone levitating down to us. We all put up our guard and prepared for a fight. He was a tall, bony man dressed in extravagant clothing, always seen carrying gold, ruby-eyed, cobra headed staff. He has a twisted, black goatee and a faint mustache, as well as grey eyeliner. But me and Aladdin knew we've seen him before. Jafar.

"Welcome my guests." He made a mock bow.

"You!" I hissed.

"Jafar!" Aladdin hissed as well.

"Ah the street rats." Jafar smirked. "Long time no see. Well at least one of you. The other is the street rat turned assistant."

"Look what is it that you want from us?" I demanded.

"Well as cliché as this sounds, and trust me I do love cliché's." He smirked. "But you must prove yourself in a test of strength. This is Pitch Black's parting wish."

"Get out of our way!" Aladdin shouted. But Jafar raised his staff and zapped me us with his magic, forcing us against the walls. But Aladdin recovers quickly and charges at him. He grabs on his staff as the two struggle.

"Get going! I'll handle this guy!" Aladdin shouted. I nodded in response.

"Come on!" I shouted as we all got up and ran for the next entrance in the building.

"No!" Jafar glared. He viscously forced Aladdin off and aimed his staff at us. "Ah ah ah, my guests!" He smirked as he zapped the soldiers in a huge hourglass. "Your time is up!" But Aladdin then tackles him.

"Oh crap." I looked in horror as black sand began swarming them from the inside. I can hear them screaming in agony as the black sand devours them. Abu then comes to help Aladdin, but Jafar pushes Aladdin off of him.

"Don't toy with me!" Jafar snarled as he struck Abu with his magic staff and turned Abu into a toy.

"Abu!" Aladdin shouted in fright. But his magic carpet came in and swooped up Abu.

"Things are unraveling now, boy!" He manically laughed as he turned the carpet to shreds. But then the toy Abu fell too and with from a fall as high as that we all watched in horror as the toy broke into pieces.

"Abu! NO!" Aladdin cried in horror. Jafar kept laughing as me, the guardians, Anna, Kristoff, Adam, and Aladdin were seething with rage!

"You sick Bastard!" North bellowed as he and the rest of the us guardians charged in at him. Aladdin too.

"Now, now, we shouldn't play with knifes, old man!" Jafar chuckled as he made a rainstorm of blades come down.

"Take cover!" Tooth screamed. We all did. But more of the soldiers were impaled. Blood splattered all over the marble floor. They gawked in agony and dropped like flies. Seeing this was heartbreaking, but it fueled us even more with rage.

"Genie! We need your help!" Aladdin called.

"Leave it to me, Al!" Genie said as he charged at Jafar.

"Oh please! You're NOW second rate!" Jafar smirked as he zapped Genie in a crystal ball confinement.

"Genie!" Aladdin yelled in worry. He then glared at Jafar as we all got up charged at him once more.

"I'm just worming up!" Jafar said as he breathed fire all around us. Finally killing off the last of the soldiers. They all screamed in painful agony as they all burned to death. He laughed manically at this site.

"Are you afraid to fight us yourself, you cowardly snake!?" Aladdin taunted him. But then Jafar walked through the flames with wide-eyes and a wide smile.

"A snake, am I? Perhaps you'd like to see how snake-like I can be!" He literally hissed a smirk as he then turns into a giant cobra, and the ring of fire around us becomes part of the snake encircling us. His reflexes were stronger and faster as he darted at us and tried to bite us. But we managed to dodge. Bunny tried using his boomerangs but that didn't do anything. Heart fired a couple of arrows but Snake Jafar dodged them with ease. Tooth tried her fair share. But nothing worked. Then Snake Jafar then whiplashed them to the wall. But then North and Aladdin took their swords slashed at Snake Jafar's face. He screams in agony. But then Adam roars in and bites Snake Jafar's neck. This causes Jafar to scream even more.

"Rickem, rockem, rackem, rake! Stick that sword into that snake!" Cheered the Genie cheerleaders wearing 'A' sweaters.

"You stay out of thissss!" He glared at Genie. Genie then waves a tiny pennant with a 'J' on it and weakly cheers with un-impression.

"Jafar, Jafar, he's our man, if he can't do it, GREAT!" We then uses the distraction to make a break for the upper levels. However, Jafar sees this and blocks the path with his massive snakehead and we all then get thrown away by the impact. Then I create an ice path for me and Aladdin to slide on across the floor. We turned a corner, but the pursuing snake cannot, and the front half of Jafar crashes through a wall and hangs outside the building. We both jump up on jumps up on the snake's back and stab it, him with a sword and me with an ice sword. JAFAR screams in agony. We then try to make it to the upper levels.

"Let's go! Let's go!" I called. But just as we we're about to Jafar grabs up in his coils. Laughing manically.

"You little foosl! You thought you could defeat the most powerful organization on earth!" Jafar glared at us with his snake eyes. We all tried and struggle to be free, but to no avail. "Because you wished your Genie his freedom, you're nothing!"

"The genie!" Aladdin pondered. But then we all got the same idea in our minds. "The genie! The genie has more power than you'll ever have!"

"What!?" Jafar hissed in disbelief.

"He gave you your power, he can take it away!" I interjected.

"Guys, what are you doing? Why are you bringing me into this?" Genie panicked.

"Face it, Jafar you're still just second best!" Anna taunted.

"You're right! His power does exceed my own!" Jafar said in wide-eyed realization. "But not for long!" He then glared and smirked back at us. "Because I have a surprise for you that I'm sure will be a complete shock to you." Then our confidence dropped like rock. We didn't like the sound of what he just said. To our horror Jafar's snake form dissipates and he turns into a red genie. "Yes! Yes! The power! The absolute power! The universe is mine to command, to control!" He bellowed. He then laughed manically loud. We all dropped to the floor and hard as we all watched in horror at what Jafar had become.

"What the-!? But how!? How did you-!?" Aladdin stuttered in his words. We were all to shocked for words.

"Thanks to my sorcery I was able to transform myself in an all powerful genie!" His voice echoed. "Once I'm done with you, Jasmine with be all mine for the taking!"

"I'll never let you have her!" Aladdin shouted.

"Wanna bet!?" He then raised his hand a zapped us with his magic. Forcing us back and crashing into the wall. He fired more magic at us but we scrambled and took cover.

"Come out, come out where ever you are!" Jafar taunted us.

"How we suppose to defeat someone like that?" Bunny frantically asked. Then I had another idea.

"If he's now a genie, then that means there must be a lamp near by." I said. "Scramble around and find Jafar's lamp."

"Right, let's do it." Kristoff nodded. And we scramble around.

"Give it up, Jafar!" Aladdin called out. Jafar turned to him and glared. "We're obviously too much for you to handle!"

"You! You're a fool to challenge me!" Jafar hissed. "I am all powerful."

"Some all powerful." Aladdin retorted. "You can't even get rid of a lowly street rat." He smirked. This got under Jafar's skin as he growled.

"A problem I need to rectify, RIGHT NOW!" Jafar growled as he grabbed Aladdin in his hands.

"Aladdin!" I shouted. Aladdin struggled to be free but it was no use. The Jafar began to squeeze Aladdin. "No!" I shouted. But then in a strange twist Aladdin wasn't really Aladdin. It was Genie in disguise.

"What!?" Jafar stared in complete shock

"Gotcha!" Genie smiled. Jafar then turned and saw Aladdin as he found Jafar's lamp. "Al, look out!" But Jafar, in a fit of rage, threw Genie on the marble floor and hard. Genie was now unconscious.

"Genie!" I shouted. But Jafar used his magic and threw magic boomerangs at Aladdin. Aladdin jumped out of the way the shockwave of the impact sent Aladdin hard to the marble floor. "Aladdin!" But he quickly recovered and went for the lamp he dropped. But then a pillar appears out from the marble floor, by Jafar's magic will. He laughs ever so manically as Aladdin struggles to hold on. Then Jafar uses his magic to create cracks in the floor. Everything was collapsing all around us in a blazing fire.

"Genie, wake up!" Anna begged but to no avail. Soon we were surrounded in a massive pool of lava. The rest of us Guardians tried to get the lap, by means of leaping or flying, but the intense heat of the lava was preventing us. Jafar just continued to laugh at us.

"Give it up, boy!" He smirked. He then shot magic lighting from his eyes, trying to kill Aladdin. "You shall never have my lamp. No one can save you this time." But then Aladdin made a jump for lamp. Jafar then fired more magic at him but missed. Aladdin then managed to get the lamp. Frustrated Jafar fired another shot of magic, and manages to hit Aladdin directly.

"Aladdin!" I shout in worry. And genie was just coming out of his comma. Aladdin then struggled to get back up. Jafar only chuckled.

"Good help is so hard to find these days. Isn't it Aladdin?" Jafar smirked. Aladdin only weakly glared at him. But then a crazy idea came into his mind.

"I'm sorry, Jasmine. I won't be able to come back to you. But it's now or never. I've got to destroy this thing." He murmured to himself. But then me and Jafar then made faces on shock. We both knew what Aladdin was going to do.

"Aladdin, NO!" I shouted. But Aladdin rolled over and fell into the boiling lava and burned to death along with the lamp.

"MY LAMP!" Jafar shouted in horror. But he then started to scream in agony. The black lamp began to melt away, until there was nothing left of it. Genie then fully awoken and managed to get us all to safety. Finally we all got a glimpse of Jafar's powers spiraling out of control and destroying him. "NOOOOOOOO!" He screamed.

"I'm gettin' out of here! " Iago said as he flew away. But then Jafar finally met his end and he exploded and the explosion took Iago with him. Both are now dead. Without Jafar's magic everything returned to normal. At least normal enough for us to stand. But at terrible costs. We all looked around to see the empty room. All the bodies that died are now in a firing grave. Grief once again fell on us.

Normal POV

Everyone who was watching through North's mini cam, were struck with horror, sadness, and heartbreak. But no were near as the heartbreak that Jasmine had. She had now just witnessed the sacrifice of her beloved Aladdin.

"No. Aladdin." She whimpered as she fell on her knees and cried.

At the Whitehouse, everyone saw too. And every single one was now feeling a sense of fear and sadness.

"This is getting out of hand." The president said. "But at least they were able to make it. We're counting on you. Please, you must survive and end this." The president begged.

Jack POV

All the pain and deaths of this war, worked upon my mind. The sadness and rage took possession of me. I felt intensely angry. That is until I felt the hands of Anna and Kristoff on my shoulders.

"Jack?" Anna asked in concern.

"You okay?" Kristoff asked too.

"Come on. We're almost there." I said walking by and towards the elevators. This time I'm going to make Pitch pay!
