Chapter 46: Cold and Dark

Jack POV

The run up to the top of the Empire State building was a drag but not hard. Wave after wave of multiple Nightmares came at us and attacked. But me and the Guardians plowed right through destroying wave after wave of enemies. But we didn't stop, we kept on going. Room after room a surprise attack for Nightmares. Yet all of them failed at our unparalleled strength. Of course Anna and Kristoff were getting tired. I could tell, but they insisted we keep going. But Kristoff, being the gentleman that he is, gave Anna a piggyback ride. I swore on my word, I was gonna make Pitch pay for everything that he has done.

At last, what felt like endless stairs and escalators, we made it to the top floor. Yet the top floor was different. I noticed the gift shop had been replaced. But by what? Whatever it might be, it was right behind that door. I reached out to open it. But I stopped ¾ before the door hinge. I then turned to everyone.

"Everyone." I said with a sad but determined face. They all looked at me with concern and worry. "This is it. No matter what happens, we stick together. We lost so many good people. Friends, family, loved ones. But no more. Today it all ends!" They all nodded.

"We're with you until the end Jack." North nodded determinedly.

"Looks like I own him another punch in the face." Tooth smirked.

"We got your back, mate. Time to scramble that rotten egg for good." Bunny jumped excitingly.

"I will also fight by your side, Jack." Heart stepped forward. "I will make Pitch pay for blinding me and making me vulnerable to my fear."

"We're with you too." Kristoff nodded.

"Let's kick some ass!" Anna said with determination. Sandy also did the same. I then turned to the mine cam hovering in mid air.

"This ends today!" I said directly into the camera.

Normal POV

Everyone from around the world who was watching the broadcast of the infiltration of the Empire State Building suddenly were all full of hope now. They cheered for their heroes to defeat Pitch Black. It was like the whole world was echoing with the roaring cheers of the people.

The President, Whitehouse representatives, and members of the UN all watched with anticipation. They were sweating with suspense and anxiety.

"T-They… they finally made it!" One of the congressmen said.

"So this is it." The President said. "The moment of truth. Will they succeed in delivering us to the light? Or are we doomed to darkness?"

Jack POV

I placed my hand on the door, and with one fell swooping heave I pushed it open with such ferocious force. I looked around the room to see it was replace with a dark sculpted throne room. It was massive, but still the same size as the gift shop was. We looked in vain for Pitch Black. Suddenly our eyes were attracted to a small person in the middle of the massive throne room.

"Lucky!" I called out. The small tide up leprechaun stirred up awake and saw us.

"Jack! Everyone!" He called to us in his Irish accent. I ran to him so I can free him. But then suddenly I was attacked by black sand. At first I assumed it was just regular Nightmare sand. But I was wrong as it grabbed me and threw me back at the others.

"Jack!" North and Bunny called in unison. I struggled to get back up. There was no doubt about it. The massive teaming black sand is the Ever Evolving Force. Then we heard the sound of chuckling. It was Pitch.

"Welcome my guests." Pitch's voice sounded. The throne room was then lit up by light bulbs in the lamps. We all looked up and saw Pitch sitting on his throne, smirking at us. Hans was also here too, standing by Pitch's side. "Congratulations everyone. It took quite an effort for you to get this far." I stood up glaring at him with all my hate and rage.

"Tell me where Elsa is! And I wanna know now!" I shouted and demanded at him.

"Well if you're going to be so pushy about it, she's in very special care." Hans interjected.

"What!?" I snarled.

"You let my sister go you bastards!" Anna yelled.

"Now that's no way to address a king." Hans chuckled.

"You have all been superb! Your persistence, you bravery, are all perfect! As a caterpillar becomes a butterfly, you too have passed through many trials in your growth." Pitch explained while smirking.

"Trials?" Kristoff said in shock. "You call this a trial!? Our life-and-death struggles are just a game for your enjoyment!?" Kristoff said in outrage.

"You rotten no-good bastard!" I yelled and charged at them. But Pitch just raised his hand and used his Ever Evolving Black Sand to send me flying back again.

"You never learn, do you?" Pitch smirked. I got back up on my feet and continued to glare at him.

"Actually. I do."

"Now, now Jack. Is that anyway to speak to your better?" Pitch said in a humorous tone.

"Yeah, come here big guy! I got a nice hard 'goodbye' here right here for you!" I snarled.

"In due time, Jack Frost. We do have a score to settle." Pitch then stood up from his throne. "The Evolving Bland Sands has finally reached its peek. All I have to do is use and this world will be mine for the taking."

"Then what's keeping you big man?" Bunny came over to my side. "We defeated uglier than you! Let's do this!"

"Patience, my friends. Patience. It is a virtue, isn't it?" Pitch smiled. "You've all come SO far. It would be a shame for all of you to die without knowing how the story ends."

"This our story. And you're not part of it." North said sternly.

"I will make you pay for using me under my nose, Pitch!" Heart snarled.

"Very well." Pitch smirked. "Come then, and meet your fate!"

In that instant we all charged at him and Hans. Hans jumped off from the podium, drawing his sword and slashing down on us. But we all jumped out of the way just in time. However the instant his sword made contact with the ground, it exploded. We all cleared away and stared in shock.

"What the HELL was that!?" Bunny stared in disbelief. We soon got our answer when the smoke cleared to reveal Hans' sword An ornately decorated and very long blade with a total length of at least 7 feet, as it is seen to be at least a full head taller than Hans himself. The blade itself is pitch-black with a very strong sheen, and its shape is similar to the German 'großes Messer', a single-edged long sword with a slight curve at the end of the blade. Overall, it looks like a large black cross.

"W-What is that sword?" Anna stuttered.

"This, my dear friends, is the world's strongest black sword." Hans smiled maniacally. "This sword was forged by Pitch's black sand. And it's destructive power has made me the strongest man in the world!"

"We'll see about that, pretty boy!" Kristoff snarled at him.

"So, you're gonna stand up to my mighty sword?" Hans smirked at the glaring Kristoff. Kristoff then kept his guard up as Hans aimed his sword at him.

"Kristoff, No!" Anna begged. But it was too late. Hans had darted towards Kristoff, raising his sword at him and bringing it down. But before the blade could make contact, North stepped in and blacked Hans' blade with his.

"Hmph! You're weak old man! You don't stand a chance against my power and my youth!" Hans smirked in triumph.

"We'll see about!" North smirked back at him. "Let's see how far your ignorance, arrogants, and pride can take you, boy!" North pushed back Hans with great force. "Jack you and other deal with Pitch! I can take on this bastard!"

"You got it!" I nodded. I then turned my attention to Pitch as he smirked down at me. I flew up at him and swung my staff creating a wave of ice. But the black sand protected him from it. Pitch then used it to grab me and hammer me on the ground.

"Jack!" Tooth screamed in concern. But then Bunny saved me and released me from the sand's tight grip with his boomerangs.

"Thanks, Bunny." I got up.

"Hey, I always got your back, mate." Bunny smirked. Pitch then raised his arms erect and summoned more of his black sand. He then thrusts his arms at us making the sands come at us. I then used my ice to create a barrier around us. Once the sands collided, Tooth and Heart flew around to get a better angle of attack. Heart furiously shot arrow after arrow straight at Pitch but the black sands kept blocking all of them. Heart was getting furiously angry.

"Stop messing around Pitch, and fight me!" Heart yelled at him. Pitch only stood where he is and smirked.

"Are you saying I wasn't taking this seriously?" He smirked. "I'm sorry I thought we were fighting." He then laughed. Heart got so angry that he then fired multiple arrows at Pitch. But again Pitch's sand was blocking every shot with ease.

"Heart stop!" Tooth hollered. "Pitch is trying to get under your skin! Please stay calm!" But Heart was too enraged to listen as he dove and darted towards Pitch. But that proved to be a bad move as the black sand ensnared him and pushed him hard against a wall.

"Heart!" Me and Bunny shouted in unison.

Meanwhile Kristoff and Anna were trying to get Lucky down from his predicament. But were having no success. The Black Sand that was holding Lucky in a tight ensnarement had become hard.

"I can't break him free!" Anna frantically said as she struggled to break Lucky free.

"Keep trying!" Kristoff said as he too struggled get Lucky free.

"It's no good! Just leave me here and save yourselves" Lucky said.

"No! We're not gonna leave you!" Anna said. It didn't help that the fight between Hans and North was making the floor shaking. The two crossed and clash swords several times.

"Your not bad, old man!" Hans breathed. "I suppose I must have underestimated you!"

"You underestimate people WAY too much." North smirked. This got under Hans' skin.

"Oh! You are so gonna regret saying that, old man!" Hans snarled as he darted at North with his black sword. But North managed to block his attack with ease.

"You JUST made my naughty list!" North glared down at him with ferocious eyes. North pushed Hans back and began a barrage of hack and slash. Pretty soon Hans was having a hard time defending himself. Because his blade was so big and heavy, he wasn't strong enough to move it fast. North landed several cuts and wounds all over Hans. Hans began to scream and cringe in fear and panic. North finished his assaults as Hans struggled to regain his posture. Hans was now covered in bloody streaking cuts. North however stood their glaring at him, all calm and unfazed. To him Hans was nothing. Hans could tell this, and it made him mad.

"How… How dare you!" He hissed. "How dare you humiliate me in such a manner!" He shouted as he raised his sword high in the air and swung down with ferocious force. The impact sent a wave of darkness at North. But North kept calm and focused as he quickly put up his twin swords and deflected the dark blast with ease. "What!?" Hans stared in disbelief. But what made it even more shocking is that North directed the dark blast to Lucky. That one dark blast of energy was enough to free Lucky from his imprisonment.

"Aye! That's more like it!" Lucky stretch in excitement. "Now I think it's time to even things up!" The Guardian of Luck announced as he reached into his pocket and unleashed a series of various good luck charms at us. The items came to us and merge with all of us, giving us a power boost.

"Thanks Lucky!" I called out. "Now it's our turn, Pitch!" I called out. Me and Bunny looked at each other and nodded. We jumped out of the ice shield and threw several of attacks at Pitch. Suddenly Pitch and his Evolving Sand was having a hard time blocking our attacks. I threw ice, Bunny, threw boomerangs and egg bombs, Heart fired multiple arrows, and Tooth flew around throwing a series of punches. We were stemming the tide. Hans and North continued to cross swords. North still had the upper hand and Hans was getting really frustrated.

"Enough!" Hans shouted. "I am the strongest in the world! And I'll prove it by ending this nonsense!" Hans then took his position and dashed at North with big black sword. North does the same. Both swordsmen collide blades and have the backs faced towards one another. "I win." Hans smirked. But then his black sword shatters into dusty pieces. "WHAT!?" He stares in shock and disbelief.

"Like I said, you underestimate way too much." North said as he stood up straight. Hans turned to him with disbelief and hate.

"N-No! This can't be happening!" Hans quivered in fear and anger. "I am the strongest! Not you! You are all weak!" He yelled and screamed in a fit.

"I think I've had enough toying around with you." North said. "I'm gonna help Jack and the others to fight Pitch." North said walking over to us.

"No! You're not going anywhere! We're not done!" Hans snarled at him.

"On the contrary we are." North glared back at him. "But don't worry. Someone else will entertain you in my place." Hans was confused at first. But then a hand grabbed his should, turned him around, and another hand clenched in a fist hit him square in the face. Hans backed away holding his face in pain. He looked up to see it was Kristoff.

"Now let's settle this the old fashion way. No more tricks. No more magic. No more weapons. Let us see what you are made of, bastard!" Kristoff said, glaring at him. Hans glared back at him.

"Alright! If that is how you like to play it!" Hans hissed at him as he took a fighting position. Both men stood there glaring at each other, while North, Me, Lucky and the other Guardians battled Pitch in the background. Anna stared in anxiety and anticipation. Then the two finally clashed. Hans threw the first punch, but Kristoff blocked and swatted it away. He then charged at Hans crashing him into the wall. Pinning Hans to the wall, Kristoff threw a series of punches at Hans' guts. But Hans quickly got the upper hand and grabbed Kristoff by the head and head butted him. Kristoff backed away, feeling a little fuzz. Hans then charged at Kristoff pinning him to the ground. Then he threw his own series of punches right in Kristoff's face. However Kristoff manages to push Hans of with his legs and feet and kick Hans in the gut. Hans was sprawled on the floor but Kristoff wasn't done with him. He picked up Hans by the collar and threw him down on the floor. He then answered Hans' assault of punches in kind. Kristoff was now in a fit of rage as he landed punches even harder than Hans'. Anna watched in horror at what Kristoff was doing. But she dared not intervene with Kristoff's fight. After a while Hans was a bloody mess. Kristoff breathed heavily from his assault. "No! This cannot be happening! You can't be this much better than me! It is my destiny! MINE! I am the chosen one!"

"You never were." Kristoff looked down at him. He stood up and Anna walked over to him.

"Are you okay?" She asked in concern as she placed a hand on his shoulder.

"Yeah." He answered. He smiled and placed a kiss on her lips. But then Hans slowly got up.

"You! You all took everything from me!" Hans hissed. Anna then approached.

"No, Hans. You did that all on your own." Anna told him off. She then grabbed him by the collar and punched him square in the face. Hans then fell unconscious.

"How did that feel?" Kristoff smirked.

"Painful." Anna said shaking a hand. "But good." She smirked. They then turned their attention to us. We were locked in combat with Pitch. I flew up and threw waves of ice and snow at Pitch. Pitch then threw a black spear at me. But then Tooth came swooping in a blocked it.

"Thanks Tooth!" I hollered.

"Anytime, kiddo!"

"Heads up, mate!" Bunny hollered a smirk as he threw his boomerangs at Pitch. Of course the black sand was defending him the best it could. North then jumped up with his swords in hand. Pitch did the same, with his spear in hand. But North managed to push back Pitch on force him to the ground. Now the two clashed again only this time Pitch disarmed him. But Bunny came in and threw his boomerangs. He managed to deflect on, while the other missed. But Tooth grabbed the other and threw it back, hitting Pitch. I then swooped in and kicked him in the gut. Sandy wrapped his sand whip around him and reeled him in for nice hard upper cut. Lucky then used his leprechaun speed and launched a barrage of fists. Heart then aimed his arrow nice and easy at Pitch.

"This ends now!" Heart declared as he fired an arrow straight at Pitch's heart. The arrow pierced threw and Pitch was flung back into the wall. Then everything was quiet.

"D-Did… did we do it?" Anna asked from afar. We weren't sure. I looked over at Heart. He was breathing heavily. I really wanted revenge for what Pitch did to him. It looks like he did. But… Then we heard laughter.

"This has been very entertaining." Pitch chuckled. "I never thought you'd make it this far."

"B-But… but how!?" Heart stammered. "That arrow should have been able to kill you!"

"Really, now." Pitch chuckled. "You'd think I'd falter to the same trick Nightlight did to me?" Heart was still at a loss for words. "Still I commend you for making it this far. Lucky's little charm boost certainly made this worth my while than I anticipated."

"If you're trying to smooth talk your way out of this Pitch, you are sorely mistaken." North said.

"No smooth talk, I assure you." Pitch said with confidence. "But you're fools to doubt my power. Perhaps maybe I can enlighten you with a reminder of sorts. Remember that little incident back in Pennsylvania? The entire town of Burgess was enveloped in a tremendous flame that ash. I'm sure you heard about it. Pitch said with confidence. Then simultaneously, it hit us. The answer then hit us, hit the viewers, hit the entire world. The entire world was now n wide-eyed shock. HE did it!

"Y-You did that?" Tooth said in fright.

"You've discharged." Pitch chuckled. "It was reported as a bazar storm. The result of a solar flare or something of the sort. You know how the authorities like to keep things under wraps. No one could explain it, because they've never seen anything like it before. It was the awesome power of my newly developed sand that caused the destruction. You know it to be the Ever Evolving Black Sand. It is this power that will help me get my revenge! And what happened there and when was only a small sample of what I am capable of! I could wipe the life away from this entire planet and turn it into a barren dessert in a blink of an eye!" Pitch explained with such insanity. "But after all, what good would this incredible power be if there were no souls left to fear it?"

Normal POV

Everyone from around the world who was watching the broadcast of the infiltration of the Empire State Building suddenly were NOW all full of fear and shock. They knew the incident in Burgess. But they never knew HE did it. Then again it should come as no surprise, as Pitch did wipe out an entire army in one single stroke, with out trying. Yet it was all too great of a shock.

The President, Whitehouse representatives, and members of the UN were also in wide-eyed horror at this realization. They never knew Pitch Black did that. They just assumed it was a natural disaster.

"H-He… He was the one? He did that?" The president stared in shock and disbelief.

"You see!?" Weselton spoke up. "This is the sort of thing I've been arguing about! They are dangerous and need to be destroyed!"

"No!" Said one of the UN representatives. "Pitch Black is the only one who's dangerous!"

"Which is precisely the reason we need to get rid of him!" Weselton argued back.

"And what do you propose we do?" Another UN representative said.

"Launch a nuclear missile at the empire state building." He answered. Everyone was then wide-eyed and speechless.

Jack POV

All of the things I was feeling inside. Hate, Rage, Shock, Sadness. It all curdled inside of me. I've always wondered the cause of Jamie's death. Now I've found it.

"You." I hissed in low tone voice. "You're the one. You're the reason for it all!" I gritted my teeth. From there my powers began to go wild causing a blizzard. Everyone stood back in shock. "You… You're the one I should kill!" I shouted at the top of my lungs, causing my powers to go berserk. I then charged straight at Pitch. I was determined to get my revenge. I then armed my staff in icy sharp edges and struck Pitch with it. But the Evolving sands blocked it.

"Now, show me the extent of your power!" Pitch said to me. Furiously I raised my staff again and slammed down. But his sands blocked again, only this time they blew me away. But I flew back at him to attack. But the sands formed snake-like tentacles and hurled at me. But I deflected all of them each time they attacked or tried to ensnare me. Suddenly they went faster and faster. I soon found myself dodging them more and more. But then a barrage of them struck me down. I kept my posture up, but my hate and rage kept coursing threw my veins as I let out another scream of rage that caused my powers to go wild even more. I leapt up in the air and prepared to use my ice edged staff. I charged straight at him but the sands blocked me again. But this time I didn't let up. "Come at me." Pitch smirked. "Your beloved Elsa is waiting for you." This guy's taunts ere really getting under my skin.

"You bastard!" I shouted. The others, still trying to get through my berserk blizzard, could only watch in horror.

"Wait!" North called. But I was no focused on revenge to listen.

"No!" Anna called out to me.

"El…sa…" I said gritting me teeth. I then tossed my staff away and dug my hands into the black sand. I grabbed handful after handful to get to Pitch and make him pay. No. I'm going to kill Pitch. That was the only thing on my mind right now. Kill Pitch. As I dug my way in past Pitch's defenses I could see him standing there unfazed. I reached my hand out at him. I wanted to break his neck and end him!

"Stop! You'll die!" Tooth shouted.

"I… don't… care!" I yelled, breathing and hissing. I was now right up close to Pitch. I grabbed him by the neck. Yet he still didn't flinch. He still kept his smug look. "This ends now, with your head!" I shouted. But Pitch smiled. Then another thing happened. Huge Dark Ice pillars formed and punched me in the gut, forcing me back and on the ground.

"Jack!" North shouted in concern. They all came to my side as I clutched my stomach in pain.

"You okay, mate!" Bunny frantically asked in concern. But we all looked up to see the black ice.

"W-Wha… what is that?" Anna quivered.

"It looks to be ice." Kristoff speculated. "Jack did you make that?"

"No." I shook my head. But then Pitch laughed maniacally.

"Well I say you picked a fine time to join us!" Pitch chuckled. Who was he talking to? "Oh how rude of me. Where are my manners?" He chuckled. "Allow me to introduce or rather re-introduce to you an old dear friend of yours." He dramatically stated. We then saw a silhouetted figure of someone coming through the dust and smoke as both the black sand and my blizzard calmed down. But who was it? From what we could make out we could see black high heels, a black dress with a black see through cape. The figure is female. Then we saw black hair wrapped in a ponytail. But Pitch said old friend. But then the figure revealed herself quite clearly. And we all stared in disbelief and shock.

"N-No… it can't be." Anna stared in horror. The woman's face had black lipstick, black mascara, and finally crimson red eyes. She smiled down at us as we knew who it was, though tried to deny it.

"Hello, Jacky." She smiled in a dark but familiar voice.

"E-Elsa?" I stammered in shock
