Come Get Me Out of My Head
It was now the early hours of the morning but Sandra was still wide awake. She'd been in bed for hours but sleep had yet to come. Instead she ran through all the things that she could get her daughter for her upcoming birthday but that hadn't taken long considering Olivia had voiced what she wanted numerous times. She'd even gone through all the pictures she had on her phone of Liv since she'd been born. Not once did it take her mind off the mess she'd left behind in London.
She rolled back over in her bed to reach down for her phone charger as yet again her phone alerted her to the fact that her battery was low. She lay the phone down on her bedside cabinet and rolled back over into a comfy position with the hope that sleep may come. It didn't though. Instead her head filled with images of Olivia being taken away from her and then only seeing her at holidays. So instead of sleep hitting her, tears were.
If only she'd never gone to London, she could have prolonged all of this pain until a time when Olivia could make the choice of what she wanted. If only she'd kept even further under the radar, but then she wouldn't have renewed her friendship with Gerry. When her mind threw up Gerry's name she felt a little calmer. Why couldn't she have just had Olivia with him? It'd have made everything easier, he'd never take Liv away from her.
She quietly wandered into her daughter's room and sat on the chair on one side of the room and just watched her. Olivia snored gently, making Sandra smile slightly. Sandra loved life how it was, she didn't want anything to change but it was inevitable really. She got up to leave but instead got the fright of her life.
"Mummy?" Olivia whispered quietly.
"What are you doing up baby?" Sandra asked as she rushed back to Olivia's bed side.
"I heard you. Can I have a hug?" Olivia lifted her duvet and budged over a little to give Sandra room to get into her bed to give her a cuddle.
"Course you can." Sandra lay next to her daughter, who snuggled into her and not long later the unmistakable sound of snoring was echoing around the room. This all added together to give Sandra the comfort she needed for sleep and it wasn't long before she too dropped off to sleep.
Gerry walked round his flat for a bit, it was later then he'd envisaged being home but after he'd dealt with what he'd needed to, he'd had a good time with the other two men. As he made his way through to his bedroom, he lay the two clear bags down on the coffee table to remind him to sort the next step out in the morning.
Once he'd gotten into bed he sat internally debating with himself over whether to tell Sandra that they'd both agreed to the DNA test, if she was going as mad as he expected she was then it might calm her but if she was managing to get on with her life then it might spook her. After a while he decided that he knew Sandra far too well and text her to let her know what was going on. Due to time difference he wasn't expecting a reply for hours so he turned his phone off and curled up into bed.
