Chapter 49 is here people. Read it, review it, and tell me what you people think. This is just here for people to enjoy. Enjoy! :)

NOTE: I don't own Rise of the Guardians or Frozen! Both movies go to their respective company creators.

AUTHER'S NOTE: I just want to clear something up. A certain review of the last chapter that I posted. This review said that Jack is being a selfish little brat. I can understand this little misunderstanding. I was actually trying to make it dramatic and sad. I got that inspiration from the English dubbed Naruto Shippuden. The episode where Naruto loses control of the Nine Tails after witnessing Hintata's temporary death. So once again, I just wanted to clear that up. I apologize for any confusion.

Chapter 49: Regrets

Elsa POV

We all made it back to the North Pole, which I have never been to before. When we walked through the portal only a handful of people were there to greet us. We saw our parents and they saw us.

"Mom! Dad!" Anna ran over to them first. Our parents and Anna united in a deep warm loving hug. I wanted to as well but I hesitated. Because I did so much awful things to her and my friends I didn't know how to approach them. I was scared that they might be frightened of me or hate me and shun me away. Jack's dark words also pinned hard in my mind. The way he said those things to me. It was heart breaking. I felt myself on the verge of tears.

"Elsa!" I hear my mother calling. I look up and see my mom, dad, and Anna walking over to me. My heart beats fast in fear. "Oh my baby!" Mom cried as she instantly hugged me. I was in wide-eyed shock. "Are you okay?" She whimpered.

"I… I'm…" I hesitated. Why can't I find the words to tell them?

"Elsa…" Dad looked at me with sad eyes. "…are you okay, honey?"

"I… I don't understand." I finally said.

"Understand what?" Anna asked.

"Why… why are you being so nice to me? After what I had done." I asked on the verge of tears.

"Oh sweetheart…" Mom broke off the hug and looked at me. "… Pitch was the one controlling you. Jack saved you."

"But he's now in the same passion I was." I whimpered. "It's my fault."

"No." Dad said sternly while hugging me too. "Pitch was responsible. End of story."

"But why?"

"No mattered who you are, what happened, or what life you came from, you will always be our daughter and we love you." Dad explained. I was even more shocked by this. But at the same time I felt happy.

"I'm… I'm sorry!" I finally broke down and cried. I hugged my mom and dad. We all just stood there together in this warm loving moment. At least I still have family and friends who love me.

Normal POV

Meanwhile outside, things got worse. The black ice that engulfed Manhattan was now slowly starting to spread. Freezing and killing anything it touched in its waking path. Animals, insects, people. It comes with out warning, silently and deadly. By the time living things are able to notice, it's too late. They freeze to death in a cold ice statue. Another thing that came without warning but still caused panic was Godzilla. He walked through city after city, destroying and killing any living creature. Crushing all resistance with ease. What little resistance humanity had left. Their screams of fear as they fled only served to empower Godzilla even more. He is after all a Nightmare. Crushing them to death under his colossal foot. He was unstoppable. Yet he was heading in one direction. Death had instructed him to go to the one place that is sure to be a nuisance. North.

Elsa POV

We saw everything on whatever newsfeed was still available and active. We all saw the destruction that has befallen the world. Black Ice and Godzilla destroying the world. Gradually destroying cities and killing many people like some slow torture, relentlessly attacking the world in an already weakened state. We were all shaken up by this. It was just too hard to imagine. Jack is going to destroy the world, rather than control it. All these thoughts began plaguing out in my head. Jack's words, his action, his attitude. I wanted to hate him, but I couldn't. I'm glad I can't blame him because Pitch was the one that started it all. But knowing that I still felt sad knowing Jack had become a cold-hearted monster. When I think about it, Jack came to rescue me. He sacrificed himself to save me. It's all my fault. It made me cry.

"Elsa?" Anna said in low tone. I turn to face her with tears rolling down my cheeks. "Are you thinking about Jack?" I nodded.

"Oh Anna!" I cry onto her shoulders. "It's all my fault Jack is this way!"

"What!? No it's not!" Anna assured me. "Pitch was the one that started this! It's his fault Jack is like this!"

"But… Jack came to rescue me." I whimpered. "And I… I hurt him."

"But, it wasn't your fault." Anna said stroking my back. "Pitch is to blame."

"But so am I." I said. We stayed in each other's arms for quite awhile. I then herd conversations between the Guardians.

"I never could have imagined things would turn up this way, mate." Bunny said.

"It's all Pitch's fault!" Tooth snarled. "I would bring that bastard back from the dead only for me to beat him right back to dead!"

"We ALL feel that way Tooth." North assured her.

"Hard to believe that Jack actually killed him." Bunny stared at the ground in fear. "I didn't think he had it in him."

"Neither did we old friend." North sighed.

"But why?" Lucky asked. "I thought he was under Pitch's control."

"It would seem Jack took advantage of the situation to get his revenge." North pondered. "I guess that part of the old Jack still remained. It looks like he's finally gotten his revenge."

"But he has a new vendetta. Doesn't he." Bunny speculated.

"I afraid so." Tooth sighed. "He now has a new vendetta against the world. He now wants to destroy it."

"I never thought I would say this." Bunny cringed. "But I would have preferred Pitch trying to take over the world rather than Jack destroying it." All the Guardians sighed.

"Hey…" Tooth said looking around. "…where's Heart."

"He left." North said. "He looked miserable, because he feels responsible for what happened."

"I guess he finally looked himself in a mirror." Bunny said in sadness. "I guess that's another fault on Pitch."

"Where do you think he'll go?" Tooth wondered.

"I don't know. I don't think Heart knows either." North said. "I just hope that he can recover from all of this."

"We'll we ever see him again?" Lucky asked.

"I hope so." North sighed with a look of sadness. Seeing them all sad. Seeing everyone all sad. It was too much for me.

"I…" I said standing up. "I need some air." I walked off to the entrance of North's workshop.

"Elsa wait!" Anna called out.

"I'm sorry…" I said. "I just need sometime by myself."

Outside I stood on the edge of a showy cliff. I can actually feel that Jack was standing here before. I guess his essence follows me everywhere. I stand on the edge of the cliff staring out into the vast winter wonderland. I stare down at the water wondering about what might become of the world.

"I wonder…" I said out loud to myself. "…if I jump in, maybe the cold would kill me. But then again the cold never bothered me anyway. But perhaps maybe I can drown." I said to myself trying to contemplate suicide.

"Now I don't think that would be a wise choice." Said a calm voice.

"Who's there!?" I shout in fright frantically looked around.

"Please remain calm, my dear. I'm here to hurt you. I merely want to talk to you." Said the calm and soothing voice. Then a light shown down from the sky. Following that was a short and stout fat mat. He wore a white tuxedo and looked like he was in his 40's. "It's pleasure to meet you, Miss Elsa Arendelle." He bowed.

"Who… who are you?" I frantically asked.

"My name is Tsar Lunar XII. The Man in the Moon." He introduced himself. "Friends call me Manny." I went wide-eyed in shock.

"T-The Man in the Moon?" I stutter in awe. "Y-You mean… the one who made the Guardians?"

"The very same." He nodded. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. THE Man in the Moon was standing right in front of me, in person.

"Wh-What is it that you want from me?" I asked in a little fright.

"I just wanted to sit down and have a talk with you." He said calmly and plainly. "But… let's talk in a much warmer and private." He said. Then he snapped his fingers and then suddenly we were transported to what seemed to be a garden. Flowers blooming under a sunny sky and birds singing and chirping.

"Wha… How did…!?" I frantically looked around speechless.

"Please…" He said. "Have a seat." He said and two chairs magically appeared. He took his seat, while I hesitantly took mine. Once I was settled I began to ask.

"Where are we? Are we on the moon?"

"No." He shook his head. "We're just in a special place that calms the mind."

"Oh." I said. There was a moment of silence between us. "So… why have you brought me here."

"I want to help you." He plainly said.

"Help me? With what?" I asked all confused.

"With Jack." He answered. "I understand things went from bad to worse."

"Y-Yes." I whimpered. "Jack came to save me. And I repaid him in with only pain."

"But you didn't mean to." He said calmly.

"But it doesn't matter." I continued whimpering. "I hurt him. I changed him. And it's my fault."

"That remains to be seen." Manny smiled sincerely. "Elsa, I've made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child. But what I do know is that reincarnating you and rest of your friends is not one of them."

"What do you mean?"

"Ever since the days of Nightlight, he was the first Guardian to give up his immortality to Katherine. I never knew Jack would find love and do the same. I felt happy for him." Manny explained with a smile. But then his smile turned to a frown. "But Pitch took that all away, when he killed you and your friends. That was the start of the dark ages."

"And… then you reincarnated us." Elsa guessed.

"Correct." Manny nodded. "No one deserves to die like that. You deserved all the love in the world. The only one left to love you was your sister. But now look. You are now loved by all of your friends."

"Is this all part of your grand plan?" I asked with a little bit of bitterness in my voice.

"No. Not entirely. I planned to let you and Jack, along with everyone else, to start their relationship from scratch." Manny explained. "But Pitch managed to outsmart me. And do the same thing I did. I honestly didn't see his Evolving Sands coming. What's worse is that he has corrupted Jack and now his hatred and rage for all life has him putting the world hurdling towards Armageddon. Which is why I came here to remind you what you need to do. What needs to be done."

"I… I don't even know what that is anymore." I sighed in defeat.

"Yes you do."

"NO! I Don't! Jack has become Evil because of me! It's my fault! I'm too powerful in my magic! Too weak in my emotions! No matter what I just can't seem to do anything right! I JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT TO DO!" I broke down in my emotional fit.

"You an I both know that what makes you the Snow Queen isn't your magic, it's your heart." Manny said calmly. "That part of you, that part of all of us, that seeks out and finds the right thing to do and then does it. No matter what the cost. Does your magic make that any different? Do they define who you are? Or do you? Look inside your heart Elsa. It's never steered you wrong so far. Look and then you'll understand why you must let go of the illusion of control."

"Illusion?"

"Yes. Take a look at this apple tree right here." Manny said turning his attention to a lovely apple tree. "Even though I have god-like power of creation, even I cannot make it blossom green leafs when it suits me. Nor make it bear fruit before it's time."

"Control isn't an illusion." I retorted much to my dismay. "Jack now controls black sands along with his ice and snow. I can control my powers. So can you. I find it very hard to believe that control is an illusion." I said with frustration.

"Ah yes." Manny sighed. "But no manner what you do, when you plant that seed in the soil it will become an apple tree. You may ask or demand an lemon or an orange, but you will get an apple."

"But an apple can not solve all of THIS!" I retorted.

"Maybe it can. If you are willing to guide it. To nurture it. To believe in it."

"But how? How? I need your help Manny!" I begged on my knees, crying.

"No. You just need to believe." Manny said looking down at me. "Look at this lovely lake." He said gesturing to it. "Your mind is like this water, my dear. When it is agitated it becomes difficult to see. But if you allow it to settle the answer becomes clear." I slowly walked over to the lake and looked down at it. All I saw was my reflection. But when I looked closer I began to see why.

"There… there is no secret." I muttered to myself. "It's just me."

"Correct my dear." Manny grinned and nodded. "Tell me something, Elsa. You love Jack, don't you?"

"More than anything." I blurted.

"How much?"

"With all my heart."

"Then you know what you must do?" He asked. I nodded in determination. "Good. Now listen carefully. I will teach you something that will not only save the world, but also your lover, Jack." He said.

The next instant I knew, I was back at the North Pole. I looked around and realized I was standing in the exact same place as I was before. Was it all a dream? No. I know it wasn't a dream. Because I now know what I must do.

Normal POV

Deep in the highest room of the Empire State Building is Death sitting on his now acclaimed throne. The throne room has now been redesigned into his liking. Black ice walls and a black ice throne. Inside the room it snowed calmly, like snowflakes dancing in the cold winter season. Death sits on his throne, looking emotionless on the outside. But inside, he was seething with pure rage and hate for all living things. One thing was on his mind. Armageddon. He wished only to bring Armageddon. He then uses his Black Sand Ice Magic to construct a miniature blue ice statue of a small girl. It was his sister. He stared at the small construction of his as it seemed all the hate and rage subsided for a while and replaced with sadness and longing.

"This is how I will always remember you." He said to the hand sized blue ice statue. "Surrounded by winter. Forever young. Forever adorable. Forever innocent. Rest well my beloved little sister." Jack said compassionately as he gently placed his hand on the head of the statue. "The monster that took me from you, will soon learn that revenge is a dish… best served cold."

Chapter 49 is done. Things are getting worse. But what did Manny tell Elsa? What trick does she now have up her sleeve. Read it, review it, and tell me what you people think. This is just here for people to enjoy. :)
