Chapter 51: Confronting

Elsa POV

We all made the plan. We would infiltrate the Manhattan once more. Or at least the Ice Age version of it. We would storm the Empire State Building and revert Jack back to normal before he could destroy the world. I actually never thought Jack would turn out worse than Pitch. But it doesn't matter. I have to stop Jack by saving him. We can't enter Manhattan directly, due to the extreme cold in the vast city, we would all freeze to death in a matter of seconds. Our best option was inside the Empire State Building. We my feel cold and maybe freeze a little, but it's our best shot to stay warm, at least for awhile.

"Now before we go" North spoke up. "I just want to let you all know that Jack's Ice Age is very powerful and there is a slim chance that we'll freeze to death in no time. Are you sure you want to do this?" I understand he's worried. I can't blame him for that. But my mind is made up and set. I love Jack. I love him too much to let go. I said that I would save him and I will.

"I know the stakes. I am prepared." I said with a determined face. "I can't just sit by and watch as the world comes to an end. It's my fault all of this happened anyway. I have to make it up to everyone somehow. I love Jack with all my heart and I won't let him go."

"I'm with Elsa!" Anna spoke up.

"We're all in this mate!" Bunny hopped. I felt really happy. All my friends were gonna stand by me. Tooth, Sandy, Bunny, Anna, and Kristoff.

"Alright then, let's go." North nodded. I turned to my family one more time.

"I will return." I assured them.

"Please be careful." Mom whimpered.

"Go get 'em kiddo." Dad smiled.

"Warm hugs to you all." Olaf smiled.

"Thank you." I smiled at all of them. North then took out his snow globe, whispered the name of the Empire State Building. He threw it and opened a portal.

"Well, this is it." Anna said hold me and Kristoff's hands.

"Yeah." Kristoff nodded. We were all nervous. Jack was basically a god.

"We're gonna be right by you." Bunny said to us.

"We still together. Because we're a family." Tooth smiled. We all smiled together.

"Let's go." I said. We all walked through the portal.

When we got to the other side we found ourselves in the Empire State Building on the highest floor. The Throne Room. The entrance to the throne room was right in front of us.

"Hey isn't this…?" Tooth fluttered.

"The entrance to Pitch's Throne Room." Kristoff finished.

"Well… Jack's Throne Room now." Anna said looking afraid. I knew how she felt. I then approached the doors. Placing my hand on the doors wanting to go in. Wanting to see Jack. I was hesitant at first, but I then plucked up the courage to push the doors open. The Throne Room was now completely different. It was like the inside of my Ice Castle in my past life. Only it was a little darker. And there and the end on the room was the throne and Jack who now refers himself as Death was sitting there with his head resting against his fist. We all approached him with determined looks.

"Jack…" I spoke to him.

You have come…" Death Jack spoke back. "You have come…as I knew you must. You have come not to bend knee before me, but with bloodied point of sword outstretched."

"What are you saying?" I asked looking a little confused.

"If you had only chosen to accepted the new world that shall be fashioned…" He spoke again. "You should have been released from the clutches of a world of anguish, and return to the nothingness from which you were formed.

"I'm asking you what the hell you're saying!" I said raising my tone. Death Jack then stood up from hos throne and walked down from it. He stopped and stared at us. His eyes and face were emotionless. But they had Hate and Rage.

"I am merely saying…we stand in a state of opposition." He answered. "We knew the world would not be the same. Few people laughed, few people cried. Most people were silent. I remembered the line from the Hindu scripture, the Bhagavad Gita; Vishnu is trying to persuade the Prince that he should do his duty and, to impress him, takes on his multi-armed form and says, 'Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.' I suppose we all thought that, one way or another." He quoted J. Robert Oppenheimer.

"I suppose you're right." I said in a sad face. "I just don't see why you have to go through with what you are doing. At least no entirely."

"I merely serve to hasten the time of change. All is in accordance with the will of life." He answered.

"What does that mean?" I asked all confused.

"Death itself heeds the will of all life in the world. Can you not understand it? Life desires change." He explained. "So that feet no longer drag in the muddy earth… So that hands are no longer tainted by blood… So that hearts are no longer troubled by wrongdoing… Life longs for evolution, stability. I have heard that longing, and thus I am here. Yes… All is for the sake of the world. All is for the sake of life in the world." He explained with such conviction. But hearing it was insane to me.

"There's no way…no way life wants that!" I retorted. "Life wants to walk in it's own feet! Stretch out its own hands to take what it needs! What meaning can life have if it doesn't come from within!?"

"Meaning? There is none… I wish to be the savior of all existence, to deliver life from the cruel fate it remains at the mercy of. That is all I desire." Jack answered.

"But then why would a power that wants to save all existence kill people!?" I asked in decadence.

"Our friends from collage, Hiccup, Asrid, Belle, Adam, Ariel, Eric, everyone!" Anna added.

"All the warriors who participated in this operation… Humans, Mythical Creatures, and More…" Tooth added.

"And if one considers that the Evolving Black Sands is the cause of all this, even Pitch could be considered a victim, in the broadest sense of the word." North added with such modesty.

"Our kind as well." Bunny added too.

"So…do you believe that is all that is at stake?" Death Jack asked looking unconvinced.

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"Countless civilizations, countless lives beyond you ken have come and gone, unsaved." Jack retorted. "Do you believe this form of life you claim has meaning could have saved them? This world is all too full of life that cannot be saved. Thus…I shall eradicate this world."

"Do you…do you even get what you're saying? Do you realize how insane that is?" I asked frantically in fear.

"Insane…? Why is that insane?" He asked still looking unconvinced.

"W-What…?" I stared in shock.

"In the new world, life shall be "one," but also "all." No sadness, no pain…no fear of death. It is a world in which all may be saved… Truly the evolution that life desires." Jack explained. "Think about it. No more conflict. No more disease. No more suffering. When this world is lifeless and barren it'll be exactly that."

"That's…no different from… From Pitch's Nightmares… You're saying that an Apocalypse is true world peace?" I ask him looking outraged at the thought.

"Exactly so. Hence, I shall eradicate this world. A world that cannot be saved must not be permitted to exist." Jack answered. "For you see, a world with no life on it is true world peace. That is something humanity refuses to see. Their existence is a blight. Unnecessary. It's thanks to Pitch and his stupidity that I was able to find some new friends to help me destroy this planet."

"You're talking to the Black Sands?" I asked looking a little stunned.

"It seems my Darker Self can communicate with these poor tortured minds quite well." He answered. "They're just like you and me, Elsa. Well… Me at least. They want a home, someone to call a friend, destruction of all life. They volunteered to help me put this planet out of its misery."

"You're in for a big surprise." I said. "The Black Sands don't play nicely with others."

"I've been given the opportunity to wield a power even Pitch and Manny could not control." Death Jack glared. "But don't fret. You won't live to see what I turn this little world into. Maybe a rock, or a floating puddle of slag, or nothing at all. Complete oblivion! So hard to choose." Hearing all of this was completely heart breaking and shocking to all of us.

"Elsa, is this truly the black sands talking?" North asked. "I sense a pattern of thought somehow different from those that have come before… He seems to express a desire…or perhaps, more like a wish. But his words and actions run contrary to that wish."

"You're going to destroy what you want to save? That's just wrong!" Anna spoke up.

"I won't let you do this!" I spoke up too.

"You will fight me, then?" He asked. "You should know that this world made us all into what we are. Our despair was born of this rank disgustingness. Manny had the chance to save this world. Pitch on the other hand had the chance to bring this world to an end. They failed. But I shall not. And yet you would believe that this is a world worth saving? I should very much like to hear your argue that case. Come… tell me what the world is worth." He motioned me to come forward to him. "Come, Elsa. Let me hear what you have to say."

"Elsa!" Anna grabbed my arm. I turned to look at her scared and sad face.

"It's okay, Anna." I nodded. "It's all going to be okay." I then turned my attention to Death Jack and approached him. I stopped at the center of the throne room. "This world is full of people doing their best to live their lives. It's their world, and won't let you destroy it!"

"Those are bold words for someone like you to utter." He stared. "But just words."

"You said it yourself. We're in state of opposition." I continued. "We were borne here on the backs of more people than I can count. Their lives… The world they live in… We won't let you deny them! You will not be allowed to erase them!" I said with determination.

"So be it. Let us prove ourselves to one another." Death Jack said, summoning his Black Ice scythe. "You who have made your way here, step by step…and I who have managed to attain all the power I desire. Let us see whose path is correct!"

"Jack! Just tell me why?" I spoke up again. "Why do you have to destroy the world?

"Because it is disgusting." He answered. "Like the humans and creatures that live on it. Long ago, my own was consumed by the blackest despair. But then I discovered something, on the furthest shores of solitude… I found true strength. Strength enough to create true world peace!"

"But you didn't have to flipping go and use it, did you?" Bunny retorted.

"He's right!" Tooth said. "You're not the only person in the world who's suffering!"

"The world might not be exactly how we want it, but that's no reason to just get of everyone!" I retorted. "You can't do that! It's wrong!"

"SILENCE!" He shouted as he made a Black Blizzard. We all shouted and covered ourselves from the sheer force. He was so strong. "The world is rotten with too many rotten people and therefore is mine to destroy as I see fit! And none shall defy my will! Filthy rotten scum! I condemn you to suffer…forever!"

"Bring it on!" Bunny shouted. Jack raised his hand and fired two streams of Black Sand, which hit Tooth and North forcing them to the ground. We all attacked at the same time, but not at a level to kill him, only to nock him unconscious. But Jack stood there while our combined attacks did nothing. He wasn't faced at all! He raised his hand once more a shot another stream only this time of Black Ice and this time targeting Kristoff. But Bunny shoved him out of the way as the attack grazed Bunny's shoulder. Bunny got back up and threw a few off his eggs at Jack. They exploded with combusting force. But still did nothing! Jack raised his hand again a fired another shot of Black Sand and Kristoff once more. This time it hit him.

"Kristoff!" Anna squealed in horror as she ran over to him. Tooth and North managed recover. Tooth then flew over him to get a better shot.

"Annoying insects!" Jack hissed as he raised his scythe and slammed it on the ground creating a pillar and sending it hurling towards Tooth. It collided with her and sent her colliding on the ceiling. She fell on the floor injured. "Nothing can stop the apocalypse!" North and Bunny came charging in and towards Jack. "I cannot be touched. I cannot be harmed." He stated as he swatted both North and Bunny like flies. Sending them flying once more. "Watch me, look upon the future, and tremble." Jack declared as we all tried in vain to stop him. "For I bring the purity of destruction and oblivion to this world." He raised his hand and fired another stream of Black Sand at Bunny.

"Look out!" North shouted. But too late. Bunny was injured. We we're all injured. We never had a chance. Jack raised his scythe again and slammed it hard on the ground. The force created and harmful Black Blizzard that injured everyone that they couldn't stand anymore. I was the only one left. Jack then stared at me with his cold dead eyes.

"You had your chance." He simply said. Hesitantly, I charged at him but then he fazed shifted in Black Sand. I passed right through him and crashed against the stares to his throne. "Weak and foolish human. You are corrupted by those who claim to want peace but only want dominance. You cannot defeat me!" He taunted and he raised his scythe and fired a stream of Black Ice at me. I stood up and struggled against the sheer force of the stream. "You're corrupt! Like all the others." I couldn't resist any longer and fell on the ground as his Black Ice was injuring me. After he stopped he looked down at me with his cold dead eyes as I looked back up at him with eyes of sadness and fear. "You must be exterminated."

"You're crazy." I said with fear.

"I. Am. Death." He hissed. He raised his scythe up and lunged it down towards me. But I got out of the way and back to the others. Jack turned to face me. "It's Tsar Lunar XII. That filthy usurper. He sent you here to claim my life, didn't he?"

"No!" He retorted. "He sent us here to save you!" I begged.

"Don't bother denying it. I guessed his foul purpose some time ago." Jack spat back "But it matters not. Your quest will fail. A darkness is coming. It will spread to every corner of the planet."

Normal POV

True to his word, the Black Ice Age was spreading all across the globe. But this time it began to pick speed. Freezing anything it touched to death. All living things that came into contacted with the Black Ice froze to death in mere seconds. People began to panic and run in fright. But it was no use the Black Age froze them to death one by one.

Elsa POV

"You are being used, Guardians." He continued taunting us. "You were only ever a means to an end. The coward Tsar Lunar has weighed the value of your lives and found it worth nothing."

"No." Tooth shook her head. "No, you're lying."

"What did he promise you? A new life? As if it was his to give." Jack scoffed. "I am almost tempted to let you defeat, if only to see Manny suffer. Watch him destroy himself, watch him corrupt his heart and drive himself mad." Jack stared at us with his glaring eyes. "But I think not, I think our little game ends here. So tell me. How do you choose to die?" He asked raising his scythe with glowing black ice at the sharp tip of it. But then without thinking, my survival instincts kicked in and I fired a huge powerful stream of ice and snow at him. Sending him hurling towards his throne. I was in complete shock.

"Oh no. What have I done?" I breathed and panicked. "J-Jack?" I slowly approached him. Looking at his limbless body lying flat on the ground. Everyone standing up looked in shock as well.

"So that's all you have?" He suddenly spoke. We all gasped. "It seems I was right to underestimated." His body then floated and stood right back up. He glared at us with his cold dead eyes and pointed his scythe at us. "You won't be able to save a single thing with that kind of power." He said slowly approaching us.

"No way…" Anna murmured as she stared in shock.

"We didn't even scratch him…?" Tooth also stared in shock.

"This weakness of yours…I cannot bear witness it any longer." Jack said. "No I cannot even condone its existence." He then raised his hand and created streams of black ice and sand around us that were draining our energy.

"Damn it…I can't…" I stammered and struggled.

"Please. Don't disappoint me any further. Elsa Arendelle."

"Jack…" I said looking up at him. "Why are you doing this…?"

"Do you… Do you think he's being controlled by the Evolving Black Sands?" Anna asked me.

"No, Anna, not at all." Jack said shaking his head. "I stand here before you through my own free will. When I was drifting in the darkness…I learned of a wonderful, wonderful power… It was a grand power that would bestow dramatic change upon the world… As I was bathed in it, I saw. I saw a world in which true peace can be achieved. If all things in the world were to undergo this wonderful transformation equally, a world without sorrow would be born. None will lose their lives to meaningless rituals. None will have their homes wantonly stolen. None will destroy their own home through ignorance. An eternal paradise, a land free from pain and sorrow. I've attained the power to fashion such a world. Is this not the very quintessence of peace?"

"No! Peace isn't something forced upon you by an external power!" I retorted. "There's no value in that at all! Your peace is just a glittering box with nothing inside it! We have to move ever forward, step by step, inch by inch! Make our hearts worthy! Only then…can we finally achieve true peace. Yes, we may make mistakes from time to time… But that's how we live. We learn from our mistakes." I explained as I begged.

"You were exactly the same, Jack! You carried your aspirations and walked together with us!" Anna added as she begged too.

"Indeed. And who did that save, in the end?" Jack sneered. We all stared in confusion.

"What are you trying to say?"

"Isn't it just wonderful that Anna was saved?" He sarcastically asked.

"What…?" Anna stared in confusion.

"Millions of innocents are slaughtered everyday in war and disease." Jack said with a heated voice. "Do you understand now, Elsa? In this world, there will always be those you cannot save. People whose names will remain unknown to us forever. It would move me to tears, if I still had tears to shed."

"Jack…" I was at a loss for words.

"So I will create the world anew. I will create a world in which even those whose names and faces we do not know will find happiness. A world with no life is true peace. I entreat you all…please do not interfere with me." Jack said as he then looked around at the snow that fell. He then turned to me and smirked. "The snow is beautiful, don't you think? Clean. Uncompromising…"

"…And cold." I added with sadness.

"Like the swift hand of vengeance." He said. "Besides. The cold never bothered us anyway." He smirked again.

"Jack… I saw what happened in you past life. We all did. You an me." I said to him. "I'm sorry."

"I'm beyond emotions, now." I looked at me. "They've been frozen dead in me." He then looked up out through the windows, as did we, and we all saw the moon. "Tonight I mean to pay back the man who ruined my life. Me and my beloved sister's life."

"Even if you have to kill everyone to do it?"

"Think of it, Elsa." He nodded. "To never again walk on a summer's day with the hot wind in your face, and warm hand to hold. Oh yes I'd KILL for that." But then I remembered something. A little something actually and it was sitting on my ring finger.

"What about this?" I raise my hand showing him the ice ring he gave to me. "You gave this to me."

"That's…" Jack stared in disbelief.

"That's right." I nodded. "Our wedding ring. You asked me to marry you. You proposed to me. And I said yes." Jack was in a state of shock. "Don't you see Jack? I love you and you love me. We love each other. I want to be you wife. And I want you to be my husband. Please come back to me." I begged. Everyone was in a state of anticipation. Jack looked like he was going to come back to us. To me. But then his face fell back to his usual emotionless look.

"THAT was a mistake." He stated. He then raised his hand. And then suddenly the blue ice ring instantly came off my hand and into Jack's hand. "A mistake I do not intend to repeat!" He then crushed it in his hand, shattering it into little pieces. We all stood in shock and what Jack did. Especially me. He destroyed the ring. And he did it with out hesitation. I was struck with disbelief, sadness, and hurt. Does Jack truly hate me? "And one more thing… Never use the name Jack to refer to me again." He hissed as he violently kicked me in the stomach forcing me to the ground.

"Elsa!" Anna squealed as she frantically scurried to my side. I was in pain from his powerful kick. He then turned away from us and facing Pitch's globe, which looks just like North's globe.

"It is time for the arms of death to claim their prize." Jack declared as he raised his hand. His hand glowing with Black Ice.

"No…not the Earth…" I struggled to get back up. We all stared in horror at what was happening on the outside world.

"How…could have the Black Ice manage to freeze that much…?" Anna stared in horror. The Earth was half frozen!

"Witness the rebirth of your world." Jack stated.

"S-stop…" I continued struggled to get back up.

"The fools that sullied its surface shall cease to be, and it will forever remain a pure, beautiful blue." Jack said with a sinister smile.

"NOOOOOOO!" I called out in vain as the black sands swirl rapidly around us. Then suddenly we were transported to some sort of dark limbo. "What the…?"

"Wh-where…where are we…?" Anna looked around in horror.

"It's weird…everything's pitch black!" Tooth did the same. (No pun intended)

"This place is completely alien to me. I imagine we've been confined in a different dimension." North speculated.

"How do we escape it?" Bunny asked.

"Frankly, I can't even guess." North looked around.

"No…! What about the Earth…!? Earth is going to be-!" Anna frantically panicked "Mom and Dad… Everyone… Jack will kill them all!"

"Damn it…!" I cursed to myself. "If we can't get out of here, Earth-the entire world will be…! What…are we supposed to do…!?" I felt so powerless with myself that I didn't know what to do to get out of here and back. But then I slowly looked up ahead of me and saw something shining. "What's…that light?"

"I don't see any light." Anna said looking around.

"You sure you're not seeing things?" Tooth asked.

"Huh?" I turned to everyone, confused. "Nobody else…can see it?" Everyone shook their heads in response. But I then turned back to see it again. "But that… I feel like I know it…" Somewhere in my heart and mind I knew that light. But what? "Let's go, guys."

"Where to?" Bunny asked. "Do you have some method of escaping this dimension?"

"Do you, Elsa?" Kristoff asked.

"I don't really know…" I asked honestly. "But still, I feel like…I want to believe in this." I then turned to everyone again. "So I need you all to believe in me. Please." I begged. Everyone stared at me for a moment, then they nodded. I then turned back my attention towards the light. "Come on." I said and started walking. The other complied and started walking too. We don't know what will happen if we fallow the light. Maybe we'll escape this dark pocket dimension. Either way it's better than sitting around and doing nothing.

Chapter 51 is done. Holy crap things are getting bad. It's almost the end of the world and Elsa and her friends are trapped in a pocket dimension! How are they going to fix this!? Read it, review it, and tell me what you people think. This is just here for people to enjoy. :)
