A/N- thank you for reviewing. I'm so glad you liked the last chapter and that the long-awaited talk wasn't a disappointment. This chapter's a lot gentler paced but I hope you still enjoy…
"That was amazing," Chandler murmured into her hair as she curled into his side several hours later, "just wow."
It had never been like that with anyone before. The excited noises she'd made, the whimpering and the almost begging had done things to him like never before. He couldn't believe she'd been like that because of him.
If he'd thought kissing had seemed natural, the sex had been even better. They had worked so well together and fit so perfectly. It was officially the best night of his entire life.
"I know," she replied content. She too, unable to believe just how good they'd been together.
He tightened his arms around her and placed a kiss on the top of her head before glancing at the clock on her nightstand. It was 3am.
"Mon," he whispered.
"Mmmm?" she replied sleepily.
"I would love nothing more than to hold you in my arms for the rest of the night but if we wanna keep this a secret…"
She sighed, not wanting him to go just yet, "just a little while longer?"
"What if I fall asleep?" he worried.
She turned and reached for her alarm clock setting it for 6am, "Rach and Joey will both still be asleep then."
"Ok," he agreed, although he took the alarm clock off her. She watched as he changed the alarm to 5.30am. "Gives us time for a proper good morning," he grinned to her questioning look.
The contented laugh she gave him filled him with so much happiness. He pulled her into a hug and allowed himself to fall into a peaceful sleep.
Chandler tried to wipe the goofy grin from his face as he sat at his kitchen counter waiting for Joey to get ready. They were gonna head over to Monica's together for breakfast. Monica. He still couldn't believe just how perfect everything went last night…and this morning. His grin came back instantly as he remembered their early morning session. She was amazing.
"Hey!"
He tried to set his face to neutral as Ross came rushing in.
"Hey man."
"So," he asked eagerly, looking around to make sure Joey wasn't in the room, "what happened?"
He couldn't help it- the goofy smile came back with full force which made Ross give out a little cheer and a pat on the back.
"This is incredible!" Ross smiled. "You've talked and are going it a try?"
"Yep," Chandler grinned, careful to ensure he didn't tell her brother that they had already done 'it' several times, "but we don't want to tell everyone just yet. So can you just keep it to yourself for a while?"
"But why? It's such great news!"
"What's great news," Joey asked coming out of his bedroom.
"My office changed printers and are now using the ZX85. It's faster and can hold twice as much paper without the need to refill," Chandler answered without missing a beat
Joey stared at him a moment and shook his head, "you guys have got to get out more."
He headed out of the apartment and Chandler and Ross shared a look before following him.
"Morning!" Joey called leading the way.
He received various greetings in response oblivious to the looks going on behind him. Chandler shared a secret smile with Monica which she returned, before receiving a congratulatory look from her brother.
"Did you make pancakes?" Joey asked excitedly, nabbing a chair at the table, "what's the occasion?"
"I just woke up in a very good mood," Monica shrugged before grinning at Chandler who instantly smiled back knowingly.
As the others sat happily eating the pancakes, Ross subtly gestured for Chandler to join him by the tv.
"What?" Chandler questioned when out of earshot of the others.
"If you want to keep this a secret you have to stop being so obvious."
"Obvious?"
"Please you're making goo goo eyes at one another."
"We are not!" he protested weakly pulling a face, "we're just happy."
"Too happy," he narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "Please tell me all you did was talk last night."
"We talked last night," Chandler winced praying Ross wouldn't ask any more questions.
"Is that all you did?"
Crap.
"I'm not answering that question."
"Dude, that's my little sister!"
They both winced when they realized Ross' little outburst had been loud enough for the others to hear. He shared a panicked apologetic look with Chandler.
"What's going on?" Rachel asked, "Chandler?"
"Um," Chandler shot a panicked look to Monica who shook her head helplessly at him. Great. "I, uh, I had a dream about Monica last night," he said quickly, grabbing the first thing that came into his head. "No big deal."
"You should probably be telling that to us and not Ross," Phoebe pointed out helpfully.
"Yeah!" Joey protested as if hurt. "I'm the one you should be sharing sex dreams with, man. I told you the one last week about the peanut butter and –"
"Joey!" Chandler cut off, "it was just a silly dream which I didn't mean to tell Ross about."
"Oh okay," Joey pouted. "Was it at least a good dream?" he wiggled his eyebrows to which Chandler, Ross and Monica all protested. He held is hands up in apology going back to his pancakes.
"So, who was the peanut butter dream about?" Phoebe asked interested as Joey grinned dirtily.
Monica in the meanwhile hurried over to the television where Chandler and Ross still were.
"What's going on?" she hissed, careful not to draw anyone's attention.
"Ross asked a few too many questions," Chandler stated, "and didn't like the answers."
She turned to Ross with a raised eyebrow to which he shrugged guiltily.
"You helped us get together," Monica whispered annoyed, "you can't get weird about it now."
"I'm not being weird. I wanted to get you guys together but not-"
"You thought we'd get together and not have sex?" she hissed.
"No – I," Ross pulled a face.
"Grow up Ross," she ordered, "when you went out with Rachel I had to share a wall with you guys and I heard all thoughts of things that I really didn't want to. If I dealt with that you can deal with this."
With that she marched back into the kitchen area leaving the two men alone.
"Good luck with her," Ross muttered walking away leaving Chandler to shake his head at their antics. It was moments like this he was glad he didn't have any siblings.
As Ross had taken the last kitchen chair he had a good excuse to go stand beside Monica at the sink. Making sure no one was paying them much attention he brushed his arm against hers, enjoying the shiver that ran through his body at the simple contact.
"Sorry about that," he whispered, nudging her foot with his, "I tried not to tell him but apparently we both seemed too happy."
"That's ok," she smiled up at him, "and by the way I wanna hear every detail about this sex dream of yours."
He chuckled, a big grin on his face, "I'll tell you every dream I've ever had about you," he promised, "and there's been plenty."
"I'll look forward to it," she smiled blushing. "I-"
"So Chandler," Joey called across, breaking the moment, "did your mom feature in this dream or is that just when you actually have sex?"
Chandler glared at him as Ross laughed remembering why the guys weren't supposed to share stuff anymore. "I'd forgotten that!" Ross chuckled tucking into his pancakes.
"Your mom?" Monica asked, loud enough for the others to hear, "I'm, uh, sharing dream time with your mom?"
"What no!" Chandler protested, shooting one last glare at his roommate before turning his attention to his new girlfriend, "that was something a long time ago which I'm pleased to say stopped a long time ago."
"I don't understand," Phoebe said.
"I'll tell you later," Rachel promised, shooting a glare at Ross, "that whole mom thing ruined sex for a whole week."
Monica and Phoebe just looked at her, then at Ross, who glared at Chandler, who then glared at Joey.
"What?" Joey protested, "it was only a question."
"Remember we agreed that you would think this stuff through before speaking them out loud." Chandler grated annoyed.
He really hadn't wanted breakfast to be so eventful. He'd just wanted some time to stare at Monica before heading for work. Not to have questions from Ross playing the big brother card and Joey trying to embarrass him. Slightly irritated he grabbed a pancake from the pile, rolling it to avoid having to use a plate or fork. He really didn't have much time left before he had to go to work.
Monica shot him a look and rolling his eyes good naturedly, his irritation vanishing, he moved and ate it over the sink. She smiled her thanks and he flashed her a grin back.
"Good pancakes, Mon," he praised when he'd finished his mouthful, you should wake up in a good mood more often."
"Oh, I'm intending to."
"Hey!"
Chandler glanced up as Ross entered Central Perk later that evening, "hey man."
"Look," Ross joined him on the couch, grateful that none of the others were around. "I, uh, just wanted to apologize for earlier. I kinda overreacted."
"That's ok," Chandler shrugged, "she is your sister."
Ross nodded, glad his friend understood, "so what happened last night," he scowled at Chandler's raised eyebrow, "before that!" he complained, "you said you had a plan?"
"Oh right, I went down to her restaurant and surprised her after work," he said proudly.
"Nice."
"Yeh, I dressed up all smart and brought her flowers. We walked home through the park and had a really good talk about everything."
"I'm so glad you finally talked!" Ross admitted. "It was tough watching you both go through that."
"Yeah, me too," Chandler confessed, thinking about how much had changed in 24 hours. It was crazy, "and thanks for playing matchmaker."
"That's ok," he promised. He was just so happy that it had worked out. "So what's with the secrecy thing?"
"We just don't want the pressure of everyone watching or analyzing us."
"Ok, but how long are you going to hide it?"
Chandler shrugged slightly uncomfortable, "not long, I guess. Just as long enough for us to get our heads round it ourselves. That's ok right? You don't mind keeping it a secret?"
"I'm not thrilled," Ross admitted, "but I do understand. When I was dating Rachel it felt like I was dating all of you. I'm sure a lot of our fights wouldn't have been so dramatic if everyone hadn't thrown in their opinions."
"Sure," Chandler agreed, not daring to bring up the whole Chloe incident.
"So, yeah, I understand and I'll try my best not to let anything slip."
"Yeah, cause you're so good at keeping secrets," Chandler laughed.
"Bite me," he shot back good-naturedly, "besides if I hadn't told her your secret we wouldn't be here discussing your secret relationship."
"Touché," Chandler acknowledged with a nod and what a wonderful secret relationship it was turning out to be.
At that moment Monica entered the coffee house smiling instantly as she spotted her boyfriend and her brother on the couch.
"Hey guys," she greeted.
"Hi," Ross greeted amused as he kept his gaze on Chandler, watching as his friend's face changed going soft and tender as he looked at Monica.
"Ross," Monica said sweetly, "avert your eyes for a second."
"What?" It was too late. He watched close-up as his little sister pressed her lips firmly to his best friend's.
Thankfully it was brief and any ickiness was overshadowed by what he saw after the kiss. The love he could see reflected in both their eyes just proved to him that he'd been right. Chandler was gonna treat her like a princess. They both looked so happy and that was what was important.
Monica wedged herself onto the couch, her back resting against the arm and her legs over Chandler's lap.
"Good day?" she asked.
Chandler simply nodded too happy to even try and think about his day at work. Monica was here next to him. They'd had an amazing time last night and were going to meet again tonight. Life was good.
"Ross?" she asked.
"Yeah it was ok," he shrugged, "although some kid vomited on my shoes."
"What?" That got Chandler's attention as he turned from Monica to Ross, "someone actually vomited on you?"
"It was some kid that had too much sugar and was running in the museum," he dismissed. "I got it all off," he raised his leg, wiggling his shoe as proof as the others both pulled faces in disgust.
"Hi!" They turned their heads as Rachel entered, heading straight to the counter.
"Don't you think you guys should..." Ross gestured in the air.
"What?" Monica asked.
"Untangle?" he suggested, "you're hardly being discreet being draped over him."
"We often sit like this," Chandler shrugged, his hand resting on Monica's knee, giving a little squeeze. "It would probably be more suspicious if we didn't sit like this."
"Maybe," Ross mused. They had always been close. Would he had thought anything had changed between them if he saw them like this? Probably not.
He watched carefully as Rachel joined them sitting in the chair nearest Monica. She didn't even blink at her two friends. Huh.
"Hey Mon," Rachel spoke, "me and Phoebe were thinking of checking out that new nail bar tonight and then heading out to eat somewhere afterwards. Wanna join us?"
Ross watched the worried look that Chandler and Monica shared. They wanted to spend time together and with Rachel being out it gave them the perfect opportunity. He sighed, deciding this was his chance to prove to them he was happy for them and on their side.
"Monica's helping me with Ben tonight," he lied easily, holding back the grin as 3 pairs of eyes turned to him in surprise. "Ben's really looking forward to it."
"Oh, okay," Rachel shrugged, "next time." She took a sip of her drink missing the looks being exchanged between the 3 friends on the couch.
"Thanks," Monica mouthed to her brother with a grateful smile.
"No problem," he mouthed back with a genuine smile.
Keeping it a secret was going to be tough considering how much time the 6 of them spent together but if that's what they needed to feel comfortable and give this relationship a chance, then he'd help.
They belonged together and he was going to support them anyway he could.
