Drosselmeyer stepped up to Treville "Keep an eye out for that girl. I wouldn't put it past her to sneak back in here."
Treville chuckled "I wouldn't put anything past that girl." he looked around a little bit "What if she was telling the truth?"
"That's why all of security is on guard right now." The principal answered "I may allow her to come back after the dance. I just didn't want her here."
One of Treville's eyebrows rose "Why?"
"Because, she'd throw herself into danger without thinking about it." Drosselmeyer shook his head "This school I liable for harm done to students, and knowing Corinne. She's just like her father. She'd jump off the roof of this school if she thought she could save someone. And probably take her friends with her."
Treville nodded "I see her point. I will be on my guard all night, Sir."
"Good."
Corinne and her friends slipped through the school doors and looked down the long hall.
"You think we can pull this off?" Aramina whispered.
Corinne shrugged "It's a masquerade if you want to wear a mask, or a normal dance if you don't. I just hope we can get into the cafeteria."
Renee readjusted her mask "We'll never know if we don't try." then they walked down the hall.
"Princess Anneliese of Celandra!" Malachi 'Major' Mint, shouted into the room.
Corinne froze "Seriously?"
"King Dominic of Dulcenia!" the man continued, the person announced walked down the stairs.
"They're announcing every one's names! And where they're from!" Aramina gasped "What are we gonna do?"
"Just make something up!" Renee whispered "How hard can I be?"
Corinne smiled slightly then walked over to Major Mint and whispered in his ear.
He raised and eyebrow and announced into the room "Lady Barbie 'Q of Italy!"
Corinne put on her best smile and walked a few steps down to wait for her friends.
Drosselmeyer looked across the room curiously as the girls entering.
"Duchess Ivana Partee," Mint continued "Of La Fiesta!"
Corinne choked on a laugh as Viveca joined her.
"Abby Birthday of Year O'dair!" Mint's eyebrows were continuing to raise "And Countess Hedda Lettuce of El Salad!"
Corinne couldn't help but laugh as she and her friends quickly ran down the stairs.
Drosselmeyer groaned "They didn't."
"Just try to blend in." Corinne whispered to her friends "I'm going to make sure everyone's here."
"I'll check out the teacher society." Renee said, motioning to a wall where most of the teachers were talking.
"Ladies and gentlemen!" Drosselmeyer said into a microphone on a platform "Welcome to Mattel High's annual Dance."
"His voice is not exciting enough for this." Viveca whispered.
"Well, to get this... party... started, Kiera Starr has agreed to give us a charity concert for the kingdom of Marabella who is still suffering from a drought. So please welcome... Kiera Star!"
Everyone started cheering loudly as the popstar raised from the floor.
Corinne noticed she seemed uncomfortable. Really uncomfortable.
The music started playing, but Kiera was scanning the crowd panicked.
Corinne squinted her eyes trying to see the popstar better. Then her eyes widened "That's not Kiera." she whispered "It's Tori!"
Aramina frowned "Are you sure?"
"Possitive." they watched as Tori turned and ran off the edge of the stage then returned a few moments later with a sparkly purple guitar.
"Sorry." she said into the microphone, causing it to squeal a little. Then she cleared her throat and strummed the guitar a little and starting singing slowly. Her voice shaking.
"This is terrible." Renee whispered as she joined the others "What's up with her?"
Corinne tittered "She's not herself tonight."
But, a few moments later, Tori starting singing more confident and started smiling. Then the stage effects started happening and the backup dancers came out.
Everyone started to cheer.
"Oh!" Ann and Nan, a twin set of ballerinas said in unison "It was all part of the act!"
Corinne started nodding her head to the music as Tori sang the familiar lyrics to Kiera's top song, 'Here I Am'.
"May I have the honor?" A voice suddenly said behind her.
Corinne turned around and smiled as she spotted Louis "Sure." then they went and joined several other students who were already dancing.
"She's awesome!" Aramina squealed "Huh, Corinne?" she looked around "Hey. Where'd she go?"
"No clue." Renee shrugged "With all the blonds around here, we may never know."
Corinne glanced around and spotted Kristyn a few feet away dancing by herself. Dylan and Siegfried were having an argument of some kind.
"Excuse me a moment." Corinne said to Louis and quickly jumped over to where Kristyn was "Hey."
Kristyn's eyebrows rose "Corinne?"
"Sh." Corinne smiled "What's up?"
"Nothing much." Kristyn answered "I saw Odette yesterday."
"Oh?"
"They found the book."
"Where on earth was that thing?"
"Under Erasmus." the currently-brunette chuckled "But they found out how to break the spell. She's going to be here tonight. After..."
"She's here." Corinne paused for a moment, looking at the door "But... it's not sundown yet."
Daniel, like a magnet, immediately ran over to the girl "I'm so glad you're here. May I have this dance?"
Odette simply nodded and followed him to the dance floor.
"Gotta go." Corinne whispered then she went back over to Louis "Sorry."
"No problem." he smiled, then his eyebrows rose "Is that... Ro?"
Corinne turned back to the doorway and smiled "Yeah it is. Nice dress."
Ro's dress was a beautiful island blue with peacock feathers springing out from the back. It was enough to make Viveca jealous.
Antonio walked over to her and asked her to dance.
She shook her head "I have no idea what I'm doing."
"Any girl who faces down crocodiles can handle a dance with me." he flashed her a winning grin "Just follow your instincts."
Ro smiled then followed him to the floor.
Tori continued singing, her face showing how much she was enjoying it.
"So," Louis said, regaining the girl's attention "You're from Italy?"
"Huh?" Corinne stared at him for a moment "Oh! Yes yes... as are my cousins the... Pepperonis!"
She heard someone double over in laughter behind her and glanced back to see Clara retreating quickly.
"Fascinating." Louis smiled.
Corinne glanced around, then her attention was suddenly drawn to a window close to the roof of the building. A swan was flying outside of it peering in. it flew over to an open window but the window swung closed.
Corinne's head snapped over to Rothbart in just enough time to see the glow leave his ring. She looked back at the swan, then at the girl who was dancing with Daniel. She froze as she realized... That wasn't Odette!
(Sorry it took so long since the last update, but here it is! I hope you like!
Guess what I discovered today! I am MAD at Disney. In 2009 a movie was supposed to be released named *long drumroll* Barbie in Sleeping Beauty! But Disney filed a trademark complaint against them so it got canceled! They had the dolls made and everything!
Okay, I'm done fuming. Laterz!)
