"Is everything alright?" Louis asked, looking at her concerned.
"Uh..." Corinne glanced at him then back at the swan in the window. But just then, her attention was drawn to Ro who was walking from the room, Antonio following. Trying to convince her to stay "What's going on over there?" she turned back to Louis "Would you excuse me for a second?"
He nodded "Sure."
Corinne took off across the room to where Ro was walking away, Antonio staring dejectedly after her "Ro! Where are you going?"
"I need to get... home." Ro answered quietly "I shouldn't have come. Bye..." then she ran away.
Corinne let out a deep breath air and slowly turned back around.
"Corinne!" Renee shouted "Look!"
The blond's head snapped in the direction that Renee was pointing and watched as Philippe disappeared through the school wall, dragging Louis behind him "No!" she quickly ran after the wall "Come on!" Right before they disappeared through the wall, she looked over her shoulder in just enough time to see the swan outside the window fall to the ground.
"Don't think about it." Corinne said to herself as she and her friends tore down the hallways.
"Don't think about what?" Renee asked.
"Nothing." Several minutes later, they'd lost the two they'd been following.
"Now what?" Viveca asked "We'll never find them in here!"
"Yes we will." Corinne said firmly "Come on!" then she started running again.
"How is she so optimistic?" Renee mumbled.
Corinne skid around a corner, trying to keep her mind focused on finding Louis then getting back downstairs to help with everything else. Hopefully, everything else wasn't happening. She ran around another corner, her gaze set straight a head, but all of the sudden, her foot caught on something and she pitched forward "Ow." she moaned and she rolled over and sat up "Oh. Hello."
Tied up hand and foot, not to mention gagged, were the school security guards. She'd been so intent on finding Lousi that she hadn't seem them and had tripped right over Treville's tied feet.
"Oh, look who's missing the party." Renee smirked.
Corinne pushed herself to her feet "We're probably going to need their help. Untie them, I'm going to go keep looking for Louis." then she took off running again.
Viveca laughed as she pushed Treville's gag down "Oh, no one's plotting anything is this school, right?"
Corinne ran as fast as she could through the school walls. She could still hear Tori singing in the gym, but put the thought from her mind. What seemed like an eternity later, she pushed open a door that led straight out onto the roof. And not just any roof. The highest roof in the entire school. Well, considering that there's a 50 foot giant that attends that school, and there's three different floors to the school, you can imagine how high that was. She took a deep breath and looked around. Down below, she spotted Louis and Philippe on one of the lower roofs. Philippe was slowly forcing Louis towards the edge of the roof.
Corinne stood rooted in spot. How could she get there? There was a good seventy foot drop between her and them.
"Watch out!" she heard someone yell.
She instinctively ducked just as two pegasuses flew over her head, followed by a griffin with Wenlock on board. His wand was glowing and shooting bright rays of magic after the two fleeing pegasuses, Annika was on the back of one, Corinne guessed Brietta was the one on the back of the other.
Anways, Corinne ducked so fast, that it caused her to lose her balance and the next thing she knew, she was sliding down the side of the slanted roof. Her breath caught, then just as she reached the gutter, her leapt off. Instinctly grabbing a long banner that read 'Mattel High. A place where Anything is Possible', was hanging. Instantly, she swung across the large gap that led to the ground and a moment later, her hand slipped from the fabric and she was sent flying through the air. She hardly had a chance to breath before her boots struck the other roof and she stopped.
Very slowly she straightened up. She had landed smack dab between Louis and Philippe. She laughed "That was awesome!" then she dropped into a ready fighting pose.
Philippe frowned "What are you doing here?"
"Stopping you." she responded with a smile.
Philippe pulled the sword from it's holder at his side and pointed it at her "I'm afraid i've got the advantage."
"And I'm afraid that we were prepared." Corinne whipped out her own sword from the folds of her skirt and immediately attacked.
Louis watched in shock as the girl fought his cousin, and was just as skilled with the sword as he was too.
At one point when Philippe advanced, a bright blue blast of magic struck the roof between them, causing them both to jump back.
Above their heads, Wenlock was still chasing the girls.
"Oh this could get fun." Corinne mumbled under her breath as she jumped back into the fight, but a moment later, her sword was thrown from her hands as another ray of magic hit her blade.
"You're welcome!" Wenlock called before resuming his chase after Annika.
Wenlock laughed and pointed his sword at Corinne "You don't know when to give up, do you?"
"Not when I knew what you and your men were up to!" Corinne retorted, wondering how to get her sword back.
Philippe chuckled "You know what, getting rid of you is going to be... easy."
"Oh you think so." She said, keeping her voice calm.
"Don't think I don't know who you are." he said quietly "You always wanted to be the hero." he swung his sword at her "Always had to fight. Just suppose you came back to the school to 'save the day' but were unable to complete that task. In the end you and the prince both were..." he shrugged "Sent off the roof where you met your tragic demise."
Corinne took a step back. He was serious! Too serious.
Philippe laughed then ran towards her, but another shot of magic stopped him "Wenlock!" he shouted angrily.
"Sorry!" The other villain shouted back.
"Now," Philippe turned back to the moment at hand "For you... where'd you go?"
Corinne waved to him from where she now stood with Louis' "Hi."
While Philippe had been distracted, Louis had waved for her to jump. Taking no time to think, she'd obeyed, and he'd managed to grab her hands and get her to the landing safely, then he'd given her her sword.
Philippe growled in rage and charged towards them.
"Excuse me." Corinne said as she stepped forward to meet the man. The two swords banged together. Corinne's smile disappeared and a look of determination replaced it. Then a few moments later she sent Philippe's blade crashing into the roof.
She smirked and held her sword into his face "Give up?"
"Never!" he shouted. But the word hadn't even fully left his mouth before the edge of the roof was blasted from beneath him and he went tumbling backwards. In his panic, he grabbed Corinne's wrist.
With a gasp, she went tumbling after him, but the next instant she felt herself jolted back. Philippe's grip slipped from her wrist and he went flailing down to the bottom.
Louis gently pulled Corinne back up to safety "Are you alright?" he asked.
She looked up at him and smiled "Yes, thank you."
Right at that moment, another shot of magic pelted the roof just a few inched in front of them.
"Gotta go!" Corinne said as she pulled away from him "There's a few more villains to stop!" then she took off running.
Louis cocked his head then followed "Hey! Wait up!"
"Hey!" Renee called as soon as she spotted them "Madame Icy's got Haylen! And Kristyn's going after her!"
(Whoa! Check it out another chapter! Sorry it took so long, I was trying to write the chaos without it being... chaotic. But chaos is not over yet!
Laterz!)
