Inuyasha's P.O.V.

When the light in the well dispersed, I was bombarded with the overpowering scent of Kagome's time. Looks like it's going to take some time to get used to this again..

"Did it work?" Kagome asked.

"Yea.." I paused. "Wait a second! What do you mean did it work?! I thought you knew what you we're doing!"

"I.." She started.

"You.. What?"

"Come on, it's not like I've ever activated a magic well before!"

"Have a little faith in yourself Kagome.. Besides.." I set her down in the well house, crossing my arms at her. "If it hadn't worked we would be at the bottom of the well in my time and you would be getting an earful from everyone.."

"No need to stand around and contemplate it!" She yelled back as she ran towards the house.

"Keh.." I noticed her standing by the front door, frozen in place. "Did you forget how to open a door?"

"Uh.. N-no. I just realized that I left my courage in the feudal era.." She stated nervously, beginning to turn around.

"Oh no you don't!" I stopped her in her tracks. "Why do you need courage to walk inside a stupid house?"

"Oh my gosh Inuyasha.. Are you really that thick-headed?!"

"W-what did I do?!"

"My mom saw us.. in the jewel remember?"

"S-she WHAT?!" I started pacing a trench in the yard.

"Wow you have the memory of a goldfish not a dog.." Kagome said laughing at herself.

"I am not a fish Kagome."

Kagome's P.O.V.

I can't stop laughing! Inuyasha as a goldfish! That would be one angry and challenged guppy! Guppy! HAHA! Guppy Puppy! By the time I finished laughing at my inner monologue, Inuyasha was sitting on the ground with his arms crossed and a sour look on his face.

"K-kagome?" I turned around to see my name had come from my mother's mouth as she opened the door.

"Mom…" I jumped into her arms with tears falling down her shirt.

"Where have you been? It's been almost 4 months since we saw you in the well.." She asked, releasing me while keeping her eyes on Inuyasha.

"I was training so that I could open it again.. Speaking of which.." I turned to see Inuyasha standing awkwardly behind me. "Can you go and bring everyone over now?"

"Yea.." He excitedly jumped away. Excited to get away..

"I hope he realizes his position.." My mom said, starting into the house.

"Mom.." I stopped her from going inside. "We need to talk before everyone gets here."

"Who is everyone?" She asked looking towards the feudal passage.

"Sango, Miroku, Shippo and my newest friend Isamu but that's not what we need to talk about.." I led her to sit by the Goshinboku.

"Kagome what's bothering you dear?" she asked seriously, understanding the significance of our current position under the tree.

"Mom.. This may be difficult to talk about but I need for you to tell me everything you know about Dad.."

"Honey you already know who your father was.."

"Just answer my questions okay?" Receiving a nod, I continued. "When did you meet him?"

"I met him about 5 years before you were born.. Oh when I met him he was so naïve."

"What do you mean he was naïve?"

"He had no clue how the world really worked." She laughed. "Almost like Inuyasha the first time he came here, though not with so much angst."

"A-and he died 10 years ago…"

"Yes.. It was an unfortunate time because he died October 11th, Souta was born on October 13th and of course your birthday is October 16th." She lowered her head.

"M-mom.. I'm sorry to bring up painful memories but I heard some things in the feudal era that makes me question everything.." Is it true? Could my father still be alive?

"What kind of things?" She asked. Should I tell her even if I don't know the whole truth yet?

Suddenly my head started throbbing and with it came waves of dizziness. I saw my mother stand over me as I faded out of consciousness. What's happening? The next thing I knew, I was sitting up in a very familiar field with Kikyo and Midoriko.

"What happened?" I asked.

"Huh.. No matter how hard I tried, I couldn't manage to kill you when I was alive.. Now you go down without the slightest injury.." Kikyo said, obviously annoyed.

"I'M DEAD AGAIN?!" I yelled, standing up quickly.

"No Kagome you're not dead. Kikyo will you just focus and stop trying to scare the poor girl?" Midoriko steamed.

"Fine.. You're not dead.. Unfortunately." Kikyo said.

"What's going on?"

"Tell her what you told me.." The eldest priestess turned towards the crabby one.

"Ugh.. You are in fact the daughter of the Lord Katsurou. I had the displeasure of crossing paths with one of his henchmen while he was out scouring for information as to your whereabouts." Kikyo stated angrily.

"M-my father is alive?" I asked.

"Are you hard of hearing?"

"Shut-up Kikyo! Kagome it's true.. Lord Katsurou is your father.." Midoriko came to my rescue.

"O-okay.. I guess I have an adventure to plan for.. Thank you." I bowed and turned to leave as I had many times before in this dream world.

Isamu's P.O.V.

Waiting patiently by the well with Sango, Shippo and Kirara, I found myself getting antsy to get to Kagome's time. Inuyasha and Miroku seemed to be taking their time saying goodbye to Kaede so those of us left behind decided to imagine what Kagome's time was like.

"I bet there are so many sweets there.." Shippo said drooling over himself.

"I can't wait to see the clothing they have there!" Sango screeched.

"Mew!" Kirara vocalized her unintelligible opinion, to which Shippo nodded.

"Kagome's time will be so exciting!" I joined in. "If we ever get there.."

Miroku's P.O.V.

"Kagome's mother saw WHAT?!" I yelled out of surprise.

THUMP!

"Shut it monk! You heard what I said." Inuyasha blushed.

"This is fantastic!" I said, rubbing my newly sore temple.

Inuyasha and I had been standing out in the woods just out of earshot from the well. I managed to get him to tell me about the events inside the jewel that made his relationship with Kagome so complicated.

"How do you figure that?"

"Now it will be out in the open and she will have to make a decision!" I told him.

"If she doesn't want to then she doesn't have to.. I can wait.. I know it will be me and her in the end anyways." He told me confidently.

"Okay then.. Let's get back before they send a search party." I started towards the well.

Sango's P.O.V.

"Finally there you two are!" I walked over to the boys and chastised them.

"Ready to go?" Inuyasha asked pushing passed me.

"Yea but what took you guys so long?" I asked Miroku, knowing he couldn't lie to me.

"Nothing to trouble you with my dear Sango." He replied.

SLAP!

"Sango? I didn't even do anything that time.." Miroku sulked holding his reddened cheek.

"Oh.. Sorry heh.. Reflex I guess." I admitted.

"Great, can we get this show on the road please?" Inuyasha said impatiently.

"Right.. Let's go!" Shippo yelled.

After a reassuring pat on the arm to Miroku, Inuyasha took Shippo, Miroku, Kirara and I through the well first and decided to come back for Isamu. When we fell down the hole, I flinched before noticing the multi-colored lights surrounding us. Before I knew it, we were standing in the well again only this time the smell was a bit different and there was only darkness above rather than the blue skies I had grown used to.

"Does it always smell like this?" Shippo groaned, hiding his nose in Miroku's robes as Kirara did the same with my Kimono.

"Keh.. Yea you will get used to that." Inuyasha said, climbing out of the well and helping each of us up. "You all stay right here until I get back." With that he jumped back into the portal.

"We're in a house.. Why is there a house here with only a well inside of it?" Miroku asked, looking around. "Is'nt that a waste of wood?"

"Kagome?!" We heard a woman's voice from outside the shelter so we immediately ran outside.

Kagome's P.O.V.

When I opened my eyes, my mother was standing over me along with Miroku, Sango, Shippo and Kirara.

"Kagome are you okay?" Sango asked, helping me sit up.

I was about to answer her when Inuyasha and Isamu came bursting through the well house door.

"What happened?" Inuyasha questioned as he helped me stand.

"I was just about to ask the same question." My mother chimed in.

"It was a vision from Midoriko and…" I looked at Inuyasha wearily. "From Midoriko and Kikyo.."

"What?" Inuyasha started. "Since when do you get visions from Kikyo?"

"Since I started training in Miko-mura.. Let's go inside and I will explain everything over tea.." I said, mostly to my mom.

Receiving a nod from her and the expected response from Inuyasha, I turned to look at the others and noticed them all staring at the city in the distance and everything surrounding it with looks of wonder.

"What is all of this?" Miroku asked.

"This is my village." I told them as they all turned to face me with bewildered expressions.

Author's Note: Okay! Well that took me longer than expected.. I know its shorter than normal and for that I apologize.. Let me know what you think in the reviews! You can expect everyone's reactions to the modern era in the next chapter along with some exploring of the city lol.. Until next time!
