WARNING! It's not really a warning but I've noticed it's a good way to catch the attention ^_^ I wanted to let you know that this is not going to be exactly linear since we will go back to a time setting that is before this chapter in the next chapter.

33- A day may come…

One day after all the wars had ended, all the members of the Fellowship, plus Faramir who was now sticking around us a lot, were at Minas Tirith having lunch in a courtyard. I excused myself to go somewhere, but when I was returning, I overheard them talking about me. I hid and listened in on them.

"Yesterday," Aragorn said, "Alexandra and I were walking in the gardens and she felt hot, so she opened the buttons that she herself made on the dress I gave her. I had not asked before why she had made them, but then I understood that it was because she wanted to open them when she was hot. I bid her close them, for there were guards roaming the grounds, but she refused and I could not persuade her. Alex really needs to learn to be more modest."

"Aye," Legolas said. "She is creating a scandalous image of herself among the men and women of the city with her immodest behavior." Then a dark expression came upon his face. "Also, she needs to learn to be more refined and lady like. Yesterday at diner, when they served the lamb, instead of using the silver wear, she picked it up with her hands and claimed that it was easier that way. Since my insistence was getting us nowhere, I told her to stop behaving like a savage, and she stabbed the meat most unceremoniously, stood up while holding the fork with the food, and, looking at me with a bemused expression, took the cup of wine and proceeded to spill it on me." He stopped as if to steady the anger that was rising within him as the memory played in his head. "Then she turned around and walked away, looking at me with a triumphant smile as she closed the door, yet I could hear how she immediately dashed away at light speed. I could only preserve my pride by not standing brusquely from the table to chase her right away, but to gently get up, excusing myself, taking a napkin to clean my face and leave. Then I went after her, but she disappeared until only now."

"I do not really know her that well," Faramir commented, "but I have seen her insult and disrespect the men a few times. I understand that she would not be pleased to be told that her place was in the kitchen and not in war, but I believe she was a bit too harsh and rude when she retaliated on their comments. She said some things that I never want to repeat."

It was at this precise moment that I decided that I should step into their little conversation. I cleared my throat, gaining their attention. Then I pulled the chair I had been sitting on and stepped on it.

"Gentlemen," I said with a soft wave of my hand. "Smelly dwarf, goody-two-shoes Ranger, narcissistic bastard elf, little hobbits and one creepy, overly attached one… that still has one lock of my hair! seriously Pippin, throw that thing away! Ahem, grumpy wizard, and very handsome Boromir's brother, "I looked at him and winked, earning a blush and an awkward cough from him. "A day may come, when I discard all my "savage" behavior, when I hold courteous conversations and leave my "foul" language, but it is not this day. An hour of well manners and lady like gentleness even when provoked by the insufferable "world of men", but it is not this day. This day I fight for my rights as a woman! All in all, a day may come when I stop bitching, but it is not this day. Thank you."

I then proceeded to get down from my chair, grabbed my plate, stabbed the meat, take my cup of wine and pretended to walk off, only to turn around and dump it onto Legolas and then run like hell out of there, laughing out loud while I heard him curse me and yell some things I could not understand. Of course I made sure to lock the door from the inside to give myself enough time to escape with my life. Of course I could hear him bang on it like a beast. I could only hope that door held up until morning.
