I was sitting alone in Rose Morning Star. Mercurymon had kidnapped all of my friends and said, "If you want to see your friends and partners ever again come to the top floor of the Rose Morning Star and defeat me by yourself if you truly care about them." I did as I was told and started to walk up to where Cherubimon used his ball of data when all of the sudden I heard a familiar voice saying, "So you're the one who's been givin' Mercurymon trouble, right?" I looked toward the source of the voice and saw Arbormon. He said, "I need to fix that now. Blockade Seed!" I quickly sidestepped out of the way and asked him, "How are you back?"

He answered, "Mercurymon used the little bit of data he had and revived me to take you out. I don't see how such a little kid could give him so much trouble."

As he kept launching his attacks I could sense this wasn't same corrupted Arbormon from before in fact he look genuinely pure. I asked him, "Arbormon why are you helping Mercurymon?"

He answered, "I'm helping him because he's a friend."

I replied, "Arbormon I can sense that you're lying."

He replied miffed, "How can you tell?"

I answered. "Because I know what a real friend is and he certainly isn't one. The only reason he brought you back was because he wants to rule the Digital World once he has what he wants he'll destroy you."

He asked clearly puzzled, "What? How do you know?"

I answered as I edged towards him, "Because I've seen him do it before because when he sent a Phantomon after me and my friends he destroyed him without a second thought."

Arbormon had shocked look on his face and he would've argued, but he saw a look of pure honesty when we heard, "Dark Reflection: Draining Rain!" With difficulty, he turned against the current and saw Mercurymon with a smirk of pure evil on it.

He asked, "Mercurymon, why did you do it?"

He answered, "Simple; I can't have you live now that you know my plan."

Arbormon turned to me and spoke his last words, "Today's friend is tomorrow's enemy!" as his fractal code appeared and Mercurymon absorbed it.

I turned to him my eyes once again having the pink glow to them, but this time I could control it. I shouted to him in pure anger, "You heartless jerk! You're so greedy you would kill your own ally just to further your own evil plans. I've had enough; you've hurt so, many Digimon just to get closer to your own goals! You need to learn a lesson and I'm going to give it to you!" A small statue appeared in front of me and I knew what it meant and I pulled out my tri-tector and absorbed my spirit. A pink fractal code appeared around my left hand and I activated my tri-tector and scanned my fractal code and shouted "EXECUTE! SPIRIT EVOLUTION!" A bright pink light surrounded me and after it disappeared, I had become a brown, wolf-like digimon with dark brown paws and a matching stomach and a pink mask and tail that matched my crest. Two streams of pink ribbons hung from the sides of my mask and protruding from the back of it was a mad mop of white hair with two braids that were red and white in colour. Finally, a yin-yang symbol marked my side and long claws shining silver in the dim light provided by the moon grew out of my paws. Mercurymon was shocked; he knew eventually I would get a spirit but I knew he wasn't expecting something as strong as I had turned into - Reppamon. I took advantage of this shock and launched an attack. I shouted, "Storm Blade!" My tail glowed and had the color of a storm cloud. The attack landed right on target and Mercurymon was too shocked to counter it and was hit with the full force of the attack.

Sky's POV:

Kari, me, Marcus, Tyson, and the rest of the frontier gang were trapped in a what seemed like snow globe when all of the sudden Mercurymon came blasting through the door and I was curious who had done it and I saw a pink wolf like creature with a mask appear. I had an idea of who it was, but it was impossible wasn't it? Then I looked deeper and saw that it was Kai with his spirit evolution but it seemed more like a beast spirit than a human spirit. I looked around and it looked like everyone came to the same conclusion that was Kai in his spirit evolution. Everyone had mixed reactions; Koji seem to be proud, Marcus was surprised everyone else seemed shocked, except for Kari, who seemed to be upset about his spirit. I walked over to her and asked "What's wrong?"

She answered, "That can't be Kai; he's too sweet to have such a fierce spirit."

I asked, "What did you think his spirit would be like?"

She answered, "I expected something smaller and less fierce like a newborn angel or something."

I shook my head and sighed slightly. She was expecting him to be too much like her and Angewomon. Kai may have been the incarnation of Kari, but he still had his own personality. He may be sweet and thoughtful most of the time, but there was always that small one percent of the time that he was like an erupting volcano - times like this.

"Beast Fang Frenzy!" he roared, slashing at Mercurymon, but the walking mirror dodged and Reppamon's paw would have slammed down on us had Koji not quickly spirit evolved to Lobomon and taken the brunt of the attack.

"Koji!" we cried as he was sent crashing back into the wall of the 'snow globe', de-digivolving before falling to his knees as the battle between Reppamon and Mercurymon resumed. Reppamon was mainly resorting to physical attacks, only occasionally using his 'Storm Blade' attack due to the fact that Mercurymon was now reflecting attacks as much as possible.

"Kai…" I murmured, clutching my crest close to my heart. "I need to help… but how? I can't spirit evolve here…"

Reppamon froze, trembling in resistance to the force preventing him from moving as his body began glowing brightly again. A glowing figure flashed into existence in front of me, and as the glow dimmed, I grinned widely seeing Yokomon in front of me.

"SKY!" she screamed, leaping into my arms and nuzzling me. "YOU'RE OKAY!"

"It's good to see you too, Yokomon," I smiled softly before my jaw set in determination. "But Kai needs your help right now."

"Right," she nodded, equal determination in her eyes as she jumped out of my arms and my crest and tri-tector began glowing. "Yokomon digivolve to… Biyomon! Biyomon digivolve to… BIRDRAMON!"

"Try now…"

I turned to see Koji struggling to his feet with Kouichi's help, "What?"

"Your power is linked to your partners," Koji whispered tiredly, his eyes drooping. "Kai was able to spirit evolve in here because Salamon's here… maybe they could give you the boost you need…"

I nodded and raised my tri-tector, "EXECUTE! Spirit Evolution!"

"SKY!" I heard Birdramon yelled and I turned to see her hovering near the glass. "Let's try and break this together."
Birdramon yelled, "METEOR WING!

"HURRICANE WAVE!" I aimed the swirling wind at the crack that Birdramon had made before it could fix itself and it shattered on impact. I turned to help Kai fight back but, I saw the look in his eyes that said 'stay out of this'.

Most others picked up on the message and stayed out of it, but Koichi stubbornly pulled out his D-Tector, "Execute! Beast Spirit Evolution!"

"Stay out of this, Koichi," Reppamon growled angrily as he leapt out of the way of a 'Whipping Waves' attack.

"No," JagerLoweemon snarled in response. "This fight is just as personal for me as it is for you!"

"How so?" Reppamon narrowed his eyes. "I don't think Mercurymon tormented you by showing you videos of your friends being tortured."

JagerLoweemon's eyes narrowed, "Maybe not, but he kidnapped and tortured my twin brother!"

I expected Reppamon to argue further, but he simply nodded sharply and turned back to the battle, leading me to believe that his crest was at least partly in control.

Kari asked, "What's happened to you Kai?"

Koji said, "He's learned how to stand up for himself; something you seem to lack."
Kari just sighed, and said, "This just doesn't seem like the Kai I met all that time ago."
Tommy said, "People change over time Kari I should know when I first got to the Digital World, I'll admit I was a crybaby but as time went on I changed and turned into who I am now."

"It wasn't that long ago either, Kari," I said. "And this isn't what Kai's always like, but it's what he's like when someone pushes him around too much, and unfortunately for Mercurymon, that's what he's done."

Kari lowered her head slightly, but I had turned my attention back to the battle.

JagerLoweemon and Reppamon so far had the upper hand, Reppamon being quite powerful on his own, let alone while working with the warrior of darkness.

When one attacked in order to distract Mercurymon, the other would creep up behind him and attack his back.

"You… you brats!" he gasped in pain as the duo stood opposite him.

"DARK MASTER!" JagerLoweemon roared, ignoring the warrior of steel and lunging at him, surrounded by dark matter, Reppamon added his Storm Blade and the two attacks hit and caused Mercurymon's fractal code to appear, Jagerloweemon turned toward Reppamon to signaled for him to take it. Reppamon did a flip and returned to Kai and he said, "Soul corrupted by evil… let the light purify you! Fractal code, digitise!" As Mercurymon's egg floated off Kai went towards Kari and the other but she had a look of fear on her face he saw this and said, "I...I'm sorry, Kari, but... but I couldn't let you die!" She turned towards Koji who had look on his face and she knew what it meant.

"Kai… you should go home…"

This shocked everyone, Sky stood up and said, "If Kai leaves I leave too."

Kai said, "No Sky; you and the others are needed here... I'm not... but don't think this means I'll forget about you; I'll be cheering you on all the way." He quickly ran downstairs trying to hide his tears.

"Kai, wait!" I yelled after glaring at Kari and Koji - I knew that he must have had a say in it.

Kai's POV Dark Continent Station:

I had decided to go to the station I might not be able to get home from here but at least I was out of everyone's way. I sat down beside the track and I heard the Dark Trailmon say, "You wanna get home?"

I said, "Yeah I'm not needed here. How can you help?"
The trailmon said, "I can take you back to your world, but its a one-way ticket."

I said, "I'll take it." I got onto the trailmon and that was the end of my journey in the Digital World… or was it?
