A/N: This short story takes place in between Chapters 13 and 14. More specifically, right after the events of 13 and some time before the events of the epilogue, On Her Generals Secret Service, when the agents are doing their, 'clean up' in the Fulcrum headquarters. And, by this point, Team B are long gone.

Bonus Chapter

The Long Way Round

The agents begin the usual procedures. Taking care of the bodies, like Spider's, and dragging Edgar away to be locked up. During the clean up, one of the agents comes across a body that does not seem like the other ones. The agent checks it out, and finds that the body still has a faint pulse. Medical is called to take a look, they decide to help him, especially when they discovered who he was. Laz.

"Call, The General." says one of the agents. "Tell her we finally got him. Tell her... we have, The Lazarus."

They immediately take Laz to one of their bases located in the city. Beckman quickly races over. "How long has he been unconscious?" She asks. The Doctor tells her a few hours. "You call me as soon as he wakes up... I have to go and... talk to some people."

A couple of days go by, until Laz finally wakes up. Beckman is the first person he sees. "Hello, Laz." She says.

Laz looks at her, then looks around the room. "Well... I'm in a government facility, aren't I?" He asks.

"Yes." She says.

"Uh-huh." Says, Laz. He looks around even more. "So I'm guessing I've been fully processed? Finger prints, blood and all the other DNA samples? Some of which, I don't even want to know how you managed to get."

"You've been out for a while. How do you feel?" asks, Beckman.

"I feel a bit dizzy. As a matter of fact, I'm seeing about... four of you right now. Four, stern looking, tiny Generals... all looking at me." Beckman doesn't react at all. So Laz continues. "Judging by the lack of bars in the room, I'm assuming that I'm about to be hauled off, right?"

"That depends on you." says Beckman.

"What do you mean?" asks Laz.

"I've been talking with some people. Some very important people. And we've come to a decision."

"What? You've decided whether or not my cell gets to have a bucket?" says Laz.

"No. We've decided that you would be of greater use... working for us." says Beckman.

Laz is taken a back by this, and laughs. "So what then? Project Era Part II? Is that what this is?"

"That project is long since dead and buried. We just thought it would be the better choice for both of us."

"Becoming a slave of the government. Hmm... now there's a great job title. Will I get any tax write offs?" He jokes.

"You'll officially be working for me... as my enforcer. But... you'll be taking assignments from all the government agencies. Not just the CIA or NSA. But also, FBI, DEA, ICE, DHS and even our allies like MI6. You'll be doing your... 'freelance thing' for us now."

Laz stays quite, processing the whole situation. "You know... this whole damn crazy life of mine really started when the government took me in... and then I escaped from them. Now I'm back. I don't know. I just find the whole thing funny. Coming back... the long way round."

"So... what's your answer?" asks Beckman.

"Lucky for you, I hate confined spaces... so I'll take your deal."

"Good. You're still in bad shape however. So you'll stay here until you fully recover." She says.

"Hey tell me... did I... die?" asks Laz

"For sixty eight seconds. From the blood loss. Don't let it go to your head."

"Request denied." He says. "You know... in all that spy training you gave him, you couldn't at least have taught Bartowski how to check for a pulse?... Or dodge?" He says as he looks at his bandaged hand.

"I'll take that into account." She transitions by saying. "We also can't have you going by, 'The Lazarus' anymore."

"Okay... then what am I called now?" asks Laz. "The... Government... Ass?... Forgive me. I would have come up with something more clever, but I still feel like crap."

"Since you just mentioned coming back to the beginning... we're giving you your original name back too. Teller."

"You know I haven't been called that in years. It might take me a while to get used to it." He says. "I'm keeping, Laz though. Sentimental reasons."

"Fine." says Beckman, very annoyed.

"Going back to the Bartowski's... How is my favorite spy couple?" asks Laz.

"They're fine. They're all prepping for Grimes' wedding... Never thought I would ever hear that sentence in my life. Let alone say it."

"Maybe I should send them a wedding gift or something." Laz says. "Tell me. How does... a honeymoon to the Bahamas sound?"

"I don't know." answers Beckman. "First you kidnap one of them and then you shoot the other... And now you want to give them... a honeymoon?" She sakes her head, and says. "You know what? At this point... why not..."

"Plus!" says Laz. "I've got something for the, Bartowski's too."

"What is it?" asks Beckman.

"Just something I swiped from, Miles a while back. You'll see..."
