The cool night air caressed Hiei's skin as he stood looking out at the stretch of land before him. Standing at the very top of Mukuro's castle, Hiei was able to
see the positions of just about every guard below him. His gaze drifted to an alligator demon that was currently goofing off and chattering away with a rat
demon he could not recall the name of. The whole purpose of his current location was to make sure the guards were doing their jobs, after all they would be
the first line of defense if someone were to attack while he was away. His eyes narrowed and he vanished in a blur, soon appearing in front of the two guards.
Without a word he sliced the rat demons head off then turned his attention to the alligator demon, "See what happens when you don't pay attention Golec?
You die." The guard began to shake out of fear, "I..I..I'm sorry sir, it won't happen again! Pl..pl..please don't kill me!" Hiei turned his back to the cowardly
reptilian, "Good." Hiei vanished once more into the night, he had decided to spare the demon due to the fact he was one of the more powerful guards that
patrolled the castle.

Silence rang through the fire demon's ears as he leaned his back against a large tree, close to the room Yukina and Taya resided in. He would be able to keep
a close eye on them from here tonight, giving him some peace of mind. Hiei inhaled a deep breath, taking in the metallic scent of blood lingering in the air. The
smell soothed him, calming his nerves. Tomorrow Youko, Kuronue and himself would leave for Tourin to discuss war matters with Yusuke. No one knew the
three would be leaving, except for Mukuro and he planned to keep it that way. Once news reached Sinister that Cheza was here, there was no doubt in his
mind Sinister would come, or he would think Zmeu was mistaken and send one of his lackeys to investigate to see if Cheza really was here.

Youko stared at Cheza's sleeping form, he didn't want to leave her…not even for a second. Silently he walked over to her bed side, placing his hand on her
belly. She was beginning to show evidence of her pregnancy. A slight tug on his tail averted his attention. "Daddy, I don't want you to leave… do you have
too?" Youko's ears twitched slightly as Stella looked up at him with sad eyes, " Eavesdropping were we?" Youko had planned on waiting until morning to tell
Cheza and the kids he would be leaving for a day or so. Stella grinned sheepishly, "More like I just overheard your conversation." The fox scooped up Stella in
his arms, " I will be back as soon as I can, now try to get some sleep Stel." Youko set Stella down next to Cheza, then slid into bed himself. "Goodnight daddy"
she whispered as to not wake Cheza. "Goodnight." Youko replied while glancing over at Daisuke who lay fast asleep on a couch nearby.

Cheza awoke to find Youko laying on his side, with his hand propped under his head staring at her. "Good morning kitten." Cheza looked around the room,
"Where's Stella and Daisuke?" Youko pulled Cheza into him, "Yukina took them into the dining hall to eat. Do you know what that means?" Cheza shook her
head no, waiting for his reply. "We're all alone." He whispered seductively into her ear. Cheza rolled her eyes, "I should have known that was what you were
going to say." He grinned while tucking a piece of stray hair behind her ear. "I have something I need to talk to you about." He commented and without waiting
for her to reply he continued on. " Hiei, Kuronue and I will be leaving in about an hour for Tourin, we won't be back until late tonight or possibly early morning."
The sad look that made its way on Cheza's face made the fox upset, but he didn't let it show. " I will be back as soon as I can kitten, I promise you and the
kids will be safe." His words seemed to make her feel better, which in return made the fox feel better himself. Without warning Youko's lips crashed against
Cheza's, " Now that you know I'll be leaving, what was it I was saying before? Oh yes, we're all alone…we should take advantage of this." Youko grinned as
Cheza made contact hungrily with his lips, "Hmm..maybe we should.." Cheza teased.

"Welcome to my humble abode." Yusuke wise-cracked as Youko, Kuronue and Hiei entered the room he currently occupied. "I have some news I think you'll
want to hear." Yusuke said while locking eyes with Youko. "I had a visitor early this morning, she came to warn me about somethin." Hiei's eyes narrowed,
"Well? Spit it out." Yusuke's face turned very serious in a matter of seconds, "Boton stopped by, she told me Sinister launched another surprise attack on Spirit
World. He stole something for the Spirit World vault, something that will make him damn near unstoppable." Hiei's eyes narrowed as Kuronue asked what was
taken from the vault. "The scythe of agony." "Damn it, we don't have much time!" Youko growled. Hiei glanced at Youko out of the corner of his eye, "Care to
elaborate fox?"
" The scythe of agony will grant any human or demon immortality if struck by the blade of the scythe, but it takes precisely 100 days to achieve that immortality.
Those slashed by the scythe must endure the agonizing hellish pain of the wound inflicted upon them by it for 100 days, after those 100 days are up the
wound will heal itself and then immortality will be attained." Youko explained. "That explains why Boton asked me to give this to you." Yusuke commented while
handing Youko a large needle with a glowing purple liquid inside. "Boton needs you to inject Cheza with this stuff, it'll speed her pregnancy up enough so that
she will be able to give birth in exactly 100 days, the day Sinister reaches immortality and more than likely launches his attack."
"Why not speed it up more? Why wait until the day Sinister turns immortal? Kuronue asked. " Because her weak human body can't endure it." Hiei replied.
"He's right." Youko remarked. "Speeding up her pregnancy in this manner will require every bit of her spirit energy, she will be almost completely drained of life
by the time she reaches labor." Youko's eyes narrowed, "Speeding up her pregnancy this much already is too risky.." " We don't have any choice fox" Hiei
replied. Youko clinched his hand into a fist, he couldn't risk losing her again…
/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Early the next morning/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\
Youko sighed while staring at the wooden door in front of him. He didn't want to do this..but he had no other choice. Youko frowned while continuing to stare
at the door, he didn't like this idea one bit. As selfish as he knew it to be, he wanted Cheza to be at his side for all of eternity no matter what the cost. But he
also knew there was no other option, her future here would mean certain death. Opening the door he spotted Cheza getting dressed.
She smiled when her eyes landed on him. " Good morning." Youko returned the smile, "Good morning kitten." Her eyes averted to the oversized needle in his
hand, " umm..what is that for?" she asked uneasily. Youko frowned as he to stared down at the needle, " There have been some recent developments…
Sinister has obtained an object that will grant him immortality." Cheza's eyes widened, "Does that mean he's going to come after me soon!?" Youko shook his
head no, " The artifact that he stole takes exactly 100 days to take effect." "So..what is that needle for then?" Cheza asked while slowly backing away from the
fox. "We will need to speed up your pregnancy so you will be able to give birth the same day he gains immortality. This, Youko commented while pointing
towards the needle, will speed up your pregnancy so that you give birth precisely 100 days from now."
"So..you want to stick that needle in me?" Youko nodded, then raised his eyebrow. "Are you scared of needles kitten?" Cheza eyed the needle warily, " I'm not
scared of normal sized needles, look at that thing it's made for injecting a horse or something!" "I'm sorry kitten, but I have to give this to you"
"I understand the need to speed up my pregnancy, but you are not coming near me with that thing!" Cheza eyed the door Youko was standing in front of. " I'm
faster and stronger than you, you won't make it out that door. Please don't make this any more difficult than it already is."
"I refuse to be stuck by that needle!" Cheza exclaimed while jumping to her feet. " I don't like this idea any more than you do kitten, but there is no other
choice." Cheza made a dash for the door but Youko quickly stopped her, pinning her against a nearby wall. " I know you scared, but it will only take a second."
Before she could protest the needle penetrated her skin and a searing pain flooded her body. She fought against him with all her strength, but the fox was just
too strong for her. After pulling the needle out, Youko felt Cheza go limp. Concern flooded his mind as he noticed she was now gasping for breath. "Cheza! Are
you alright? What's wrong!?" Tears flooded her eyes as the managed to say " I can't take the pain." Youko's heart began to race as he watched his beloved
Cheza fall into unconsciousness.
What had gone wrong? Was she going to die from this!?Was she having a bad reaction to the potion? Youko began to panic, he couldn't go through the pain of losing her again…
