A/N: Here is chapter 2. I was not expecting that many positive reviews on the first chapter! Keep reviewing! I love all reviews, whether positive or negative.

Dipper was cleared to leave the hospital the next day. By that time, the news had played the story of his attack several times. After they got home, Dipper decided to watch some television.

"12 year old boy viciously attacked by cat creature. He was found by serveral doctors who provided immediate medical care and drove him to the hospital. There is a $500 reward for the death of this monster."

"Last night a cat creature attacked a young resident of Gravity Falls. He has multiple injuries, but surprisingly no bite marks. It appears he was rescued before the monster could do much more than break his leg. After the $500 reward was announced for her death, many could be seen going to Gravity Fall's forest, the location of the attack."

"We welcome animal behaiviorest Barbra Williams to tell you how you can defend yourself from this monster."

"Thank you. This creature is a terrible thing to come to Gravity Falls, but there are many things you can do to protect yourselves."

Dipper stopped channel surfing and turned off the television. Almost as soon as he did that, Mabel entered the living room.

"Mabel, every single channel is reporting that attack, even the 'Used to be About History' channel. Do you know what this means?"

"A bunch of idiots are wasting their time fabricating an already false story?"

Dipper gave her a confused look. "What? No! It means that everyone is now aware of the paranormal side of Gravity Falls! There's even a reward for the death of the cat creature!"

Mabel spit out the soda she had been drinking. "What? They want to kill it? But why? It's just a cat!"

"Mabel this 'cat' was the same size as me and tried to kill me. You really think this is a normal cat?"

"Dipper, they never asked you what happened. They only reported what the doctors saw. Why haven't you told me what happened?"

Dipper looked at his sister and spoke. "I need my book so I can identify what type of cat creature it is. That should be in the journal somewhere."

Mabel ran upstairs to the attic to get the journal, then quickly returned. "I don't think you'll find anything in there. You said yourself that you never saw a section about werecats in the journal."

Dipper flipped through the book, and finally found what he was looking for.

"Okay, here it is. 'In my recent adventures,'" he paused. "Should I do the voice?"

Mabel shook her head an Dipper started reading again. "'In my recent adventures I have come across a feline creature. As I was following this creature, I was noticed and had to run. It could run on its hind paws, and this prompted me to investigate. After concealing myself in a tree, I saw the cat walking towards a certain part of the woods. The followed the creature and it lead me to a pool of water. The rocks resembled moons and the water was as clear as the sky. The cat walked out of the cave and was able to speak. I have written down what it said. 'These woods are not safe. There is a great evil in these woods, especially at this lake. Leave now, or I will be forced to murder you.' The cat followed me to make sure I left. I attempted to communicate with it, but it only shook its head and walked away. If only I could return to the pool without her attempting to end my life, I could discover the secret of those woods.'

"Mabel, it isn't a normal cat! The lake I found matches the drawing!"

Mabel looked at him. Her face revealed her consern. "Dipper, it's not safe there. You could be attacked again and there might be no one to save you."

Dipper rolled his eyes. "Do you want to hear the story of my attack or not?"

Mabel nodded, and Dipper retold the events. "So I was in the woods, and by the lake," he pointed to the picture in the journal, "a red wolf attacked me. It dragged me for a while, but then it was attacked by the cat. She dragged me and tried to eat me! After that, I woke up in the hospital."

Mabel spoke under her breath. "It all makes sense now."

"What did you say?"

"Um... non specific excuse!" Mabel ran outside.

"Well, that was weird. I should start planning. Once I get this cast off in 2 weeks, I'll be going back in the forest."

A brown feline walked up to the pool. It was the middle of the day, but this part of the woods was always as dark as night. She looked at her reflection in the pool.

"Ancient spirits, guarding the night.

I desire an answer, or I must start my flight.

A human kit desires knowledge of the power we possess.

I leave you this problem, please solve the rest."

She went into the cave and retrieved a vial. Filling it up, she looked at the colors it formed. A voice carried through the wind.

"Drink this, feline, after transformation began.

None of us are against any human.

You are one of the few who don't desire to spread the curse.

Why should we make your situation worse?"

She slid the vial into the bag she had. Looking more closely at the pool, she could see a reflection of the non-existent moon. She left the area, a smile forming on her face. The human kitten had a chance to be saved.

Two and a half weeks later, Dipper looked at the setting sun. He hadn't told Mabel his plans. Actually, he acted as if he had decided to not go, which Mabel believed. She still was against him entering the woods at night, so this adventure would have to wait until Mabel was asleep. Mabel tried to get to bed early on a few nights, so as long as he didn't make any noise he could leave by ten.

At around 8:25, Dipper left his bag by the door. Mabel hadn't asked any questions about it, mainly because she didn't notice. She and Dipper had gone into the part of the woods close to the shack. Mabel didn't think that they should in too far, and Dipper had listened to her. Dipper thought about the strangeness that had happened lately, the strangest being Mabel's grounding. After he was attacked by the cat, she had been grounded for two and a half weeks. When he asked her about it, Mabel responded that it was none of his business.

Dipper walked into the living room where Mabel and Stan were watching Tiger Fist. Stan was yelling at the tiger to fight things, while Mabel wasn't really paying attention. It was getting late, so after the show ended, Stan sent then up to their rooms.

Mabel fell asleep almost immeadiately, so Dipper waited about ten minutes. When she didn't get up, he snuck out of the room and went down the stairs. It was 9:30, so he could see the smallest bit of light as the sun allowed the night to begin. He was careful to be quiet, and looked in his bag for a flashlight. Dipper noticed the several cameras he had brought, along with journal 3. Finally he found the flash light.

After walking for about forty-five minutes, Dipper found the lake again. He didn't notice the sound of cracking branches until it was too late. A grey wolf leapt onto him.

Mabel woke up to the sound of Dipper screaming.

"Dipper, are you o..." She stopped. Dipper wasn't in his bed. The sound was coming from the forest. Mabel scrambled out of bed and landed on the floor. Standing up, she looked into her bag and grabbed something. She could feel that it was happening, and allowed it to take place. Taking a sip from the bottle, she collapsed. Immeadiately getting up, Mabel looked at her reflection. Brown, feline eyes stared back at her. Mabel slid of her clothes, put her bag around her neck, and lept out the window.

Stab heard the sound of breaking glass from the twins' room. "What are they up to now?"

He left his room and walked up the attic steps, taking a short break about halfway up. Once he reached the room, a shocking sight was seen by him. The twins were missing, but that wasn't what worried him the most. Various claw marks covered the floor of Mabel's side, with those covered by the broken colored glass littering the floor.

"Not again!"
