Hi! i know you guys want to know the backstory between this characters, so don't worry, that is the next chapter, but for now here's today's chapter!

The four headed out towards a graveyard near to the church.

"Oh god..." Ellie said quietly before she pointed towards a group of frowned as he pulled both Sakura and Ellie closer to him.

"Now you two, be careful..." He said

They nodded slightly as Kankuro rolled his eyes.

They all followed Naruto, sneaking their way through the infestation of Clickers, and made their way through the rest of the Infected-filled town. Naruto would occasionally glance at Sakura, who would occasionally glanced at Ellie and almost simultaneously nodded , it was like a silent method of communication, while Kankuro talked silently to himself.

They reached the school and 'oh-so-surprisingly' it was filled with runners.

"See Naruto , if you give me a gun, i could help"

"We talked about this before, well be fine just stay close to Sakura" He walked over to her.

"Okay Sakura, do you know how to use this gun?" He said pointing at the special gun she had.

"Well i read the instructions..." She shrugged.

"Okay..." He said standing behind her as he grabbed the hand which was holding the gun , smoothly he guided her other hand with his own.

"Uh.. What are you doing?" She said blushing at the proximity between them

"Umm... I- i am going to make sure you know how to use it" he sounded somehow nervous, what she didn't know was that he as well was getting a little red "okay, so firmly hold it , and you see this red flick?" He said as she nodded "With this you activate smoke bombs... Just stay as away from the trigger as possible " she nodded again and he stepped way from her a little too quickly, when he turned to see Kankuro's and Ellie's smirk he cleared his throat.

"Well lets go!"

They killed the Runners surrounding the school, before hiding from more Infected by climbing through a window near where the military truck crashed into the school.

A wave of Infected closed in on them and they ran into the school to escape, they saw the military truck he was looking for, but Kankuro realises the car battery in the military truck is gone they worked their way through the school and run into a really gross, fat looking infected, it seemed upset, of course the wouldn't know as it didn't had a head, it was similar to a clicker.

"What the fuck is that?" The traveling trio said in unison.

"Well... You know what happens when clickers get even older and rotten... Well Bloaters happen"

"Oh... That is disgusting" Ellie said.

"I've got a plan!" Sakura said brightly "How about we surround him, and try to distract him making sounds, finally when we make him move towards the center-"

"-we can trow one of those grenades of yours !" Ellie finished.

"You know.. That's not the worst plan i've heard" Kankuro said

"Then let's do it!"

And they did, thanks to Sakura's plan they managed to kill it and escape into a nearby home. There, they found a peculiar smell, one that seemed familiar, it became evident that it was someone dead , it was Kankuro's brother and old partner, Gaara, who had committed suicide after being bitten so he wouldn't become one of the Infected.

"Are you okay Kankuro?"

"I'm fine... Let's just go downstairs, he probably took the battery from the military truck..."

And indeed they found a truck in the garage with Kankuro's battery in it.

"Okay... This truck is in pretty good shape , so we can probably take it, but well have to push it, but not only the two of us Naruto... I'm afraid i'm not the strongest one so Sakura has to help"

"That's okay i'll do it"

"Great... But someone is gonna have to start the engine of the truck"

"I guess thats me " Ellie said as she got on the truck a little nervously. Kankuro prepared himself to push the truck walking towards the back of it.

"Look at her... She looks panicked" Sakura whispered at Naruto as he nodded his head.

"Hey Ellie, i...um ... We just want you to know that... You have done a great job, and you have been helpful, so there's nothing to worry about okay" She smiled back at him, he trusted her. She knew she could do it.

"I will not disappoint you " she said with determination.

"We know you won't" Sakura completed. And they went off to push the truck.

Ellie drived until Kankuro ordered her to stop once they had escaped the infected that were surrounding the area. The pushing trick worked ,Ellie was filled with pride as they rode off to a safer destination, finally wen they reached the safe house Kankuro parted ways with them giving Naruto a portable petrol nozzle to scavenge petrol from abandoned cars.

"Thanks Kankuro"

"Now where even okay?"

"Okay..." He turned towards his girls ... Wait? His girls, he pushed that thought off his head "Let's head on the road"

They smiled as they took their seats, Sakura in the front with Naruto who was driving and Ellie laying on her back in the back seats.

Night was closing in, they had been driving for about an hour, and Naruto decided they needed a break, well , he needed a break.

"Okay... Listen we're gonna stop soon, there's a Natural park over here somewhere, i bet we can get food, i remember having a friend that worked here, he told me they kept the food that tourist left behind"

"Why?" Ellie asked curiously.

"Beats me... Oh yeah... And by the way, we are gonna have to take a break, so we can go when it's really late, so we arrive to the nearest town in the morning , rather than the afternoon when everyone else is looking for food" He said as he made a stop. He took out his gun and after inspected the place and realized there was no danger whatsoever he parked near a cliff, it was not to high though , so they could be able to escape if something happened. Ellie yawned as she fell asleep near a log , supporting her head with Naruto's backpack .

"Huh... I guess she was really tired" He said.

"Well can you blame her?" He just shook his head. "Naruto..."

"Hmm?"

"I think Ellie interrupted us back then at the lake..."

"Oh... About that... It's nothing really..."

"Naruto please... Trust me , i really want to know"

He sighed pondering it for a little while, he got to the conclusion that sooner or later they would be asking, so why not now.

"Fine... But Ellie can't know about this, come on" He said walking towards the edge of the cliff and sitting down. She followed him silently.

"Okay... I know what you want to ask... But i also know that sooner or later you'll want to know more, so i'm gonna tell you the whole story..."

She looked at him, as she listened attentively.

"Well... It starts back then when we where in high school... I don't know if you knew but i had kind of a big crush on you..."

"Everybody knew... Well except me" she smiled.

"Oh... Well , anyways, remember that autumn dance ?" He said blushing.

"Boy... Do i remember?..."she said rolling her eyes.

And... Scene!
