Here is the second part.
I hope this second part meets with everyone's expectations. This is Chapter 20! I am so excited that I made it this far with over 70 followers, over 45 favorites, over 85 reviews and over 11,800 views. I never thought my writing was this good but you all made it possible so thanks so much. I hope to one day reach Chapter 50 if I am good enough and if I can come up with enough material to reach that far.
As a bonus:
I threw in a few names that some of you might recognize. Hint they are from a different book series.
I also made this my longest Chapter to date in honor of it being my 20th Chapter.
Thoughts are in italics.

Sabotage Part Two
The girls walk into the cafeteria and again all eyes are on them. Am I really as popular as Izzy and Maia said I am? Clary can't help but doubt herself since she has never gotten used to all of the attention. Now it seems to attention keeps building. In two short weeks she has made a new friend that she knows will become a lifelong friendship like Simon and amassed a massive popularity ranking. She is only a freshman and she already has influence among the student body. Plus having Jon around helps.
They all make their way to the lunch line and the boys ahead of them let them cut in. Some people don't like it but since it's them they don't say a word. No one would dare get on their bad side let alone risk making Jon mad. Today they are serving Panini's with Caesar salad on the side. Nothing better than going to a private school with the best available. The girls make their way through and find Simon already waiting for them at their usual table.
"Finally you girls took long enough." Simon says as they approach the table.
"Yeah it's wrong to keep your man waiting Maia." Jordan says. The girls look surprised to see him on the other side of the table. They didn't even notice him.
"Oh baby you should be lucky I even decided to grace you with my presence at all." Maia replies with a smirk.
"Just get over here love." Jordan replies embracing Maia.
"Awwe you two are so cute." Izzy says as she sees them hold each other and begin to eat.
"Can you guys just keep it PG I don't want to pollute my innocent mind." Simon says as everyone around bursts into laughter.
"Ok I know we act all lovey dovey and crazy for each other but we do not do that. And your mind has long since lost its innocence." Maia said as she glared at Simon. Only kidding of course.
"Ignore him baby. He's just jealous he doesn't have someone as wonderful as you by his side." Jordan says to Maia.
"Oh god those two need to get a room, or at least get out of that damned honeymoon stage." Simon huffed at no one in particular.
The rest of their lunch revolved around Maia and Jordan's relationship. Even though they made fun of them they were all jealous of their relationship. From day one they have been inseparable. They don't let anything stand in the way of their happiness and they are planning to move in together after high school. Not to start a family or anything but to be together as they go to college. They have their priorities straight on that front.
Clary hopes one day she can have what they have. An honest devoted loving relationship, just not as fast to move in though.

Jace and Alec were still not on speaking terms so they spent lunch apart. Jace opted to sit with the team who pretty much beat the hell out of him with soccer balls and Alec just spent his lunch outside in the quad. Jace hates the guys now but he knew something was bound to happen. Jon is not speaking to him and still glares at him once in a while. A few guys who had the decency to apologize still talk to him but they defend as to why they did it. Jace figures that's as good as he is going to get to a real apology.
His lunch is pretty normal compared to Alec who pretty much ate while walking outside. He doesn't really make friends whenever they move. He just hangs out with Jace and whatever people are around him. He is beginning to see just how much of his social life depended on Jace.
This needs to change. If I'm going to say here for three years I better start trying to socialize. I don't want Clary to think I'm introverted.
"Hey Alec over here." Someone calls out for Alec from one of the tables outside. When Alec looks its most of the track team having lunch.
"Hey guys, so this is where you all disappear to for lunch." Alec says with a smile. Try to be social dammit.
"Yeah we mostly hang out here when the weather lets us." Quil says in response to Alec's question. "Aren't you going to eat? We can't have you fainting during practice."
"I already finished. Besides even if I didn't I wouldn't faint. I'm too strong for that." Alec told him with a smirk. Being playful seemed to work by the looks he was getting.
"You may be strong but you definitely are not fast. Clary kicked your ass Monday." Embry said
"That was only because she didn't go against me." Sam said. He is the Captain of the track team and by far the fastest if not as fast as Clary.
"Don't let her hear you say that. Clary might take it as a challenge and she didn't kick my ass." Alec said that last part to Embry. All good natured jabbing of course.
"We'll see. It's nice to see some new blood come in who are actually decent." Sam says as he digs in to his third Panini.
"I actually like to win."
"Don't worry, with our team we are sure to blow everyone away." Alec said then sat down with them. The rest of his lunch was spent talking with them. Alec thinks he found his new group to hang out with and luckily they can also be Clarys.

5th period starts off with the girls of course changing into their flattering P.E. uniforms with pink accessories and warming up. Simon stays particularly close to Clary since he has been the only one to so far notice 'Sebastard' looking at her. He won't be stupid again and leave her unattended. Jon would kill him.
Clary of course is still completely clueless but he won't complain. The less she is aware the better. He can sense other eyes on her as well. They are mostly coming from some of the cheerleaders. He never liked those girls, they seem more into cheering for themselves than the school teams. He doesn't like the feeling he is getting. Simon makes a mental note to keep his eyes and ears open and to report anything wrong to Jon. Clary doesn't need anything to ruin her party.
In the middle bleachers at the top sitting down is 'The Bitch Clique'. They are talking amongst themselves as to avoid being overheard. They are trying to come up with a new strategy of getting rid of Clary since fake accounts didn't work. Clarys real accounts are thriving and her posts are even trending and being shared by most of the student body.
"What in the hell can we do to that little bitch?" Kaelie asked to both girls.
"The next thing we do must be deliberate or at least much sneakier than our last." Seelie said as she glared at Clary.
"We have to think about what we do next. I'm the only one invited to her party since I'm the head cheerleader. Plus it helps that she doesn't know I hate her. I may be able to sneak you both in when people are distracted but it will be hard since its invitation only and Clarys 'bouncers' always check. Plus Jon will more than likely have the players helping and their loyalty to him is unshakable. So it might not happen." Camille pauses and thinks intently at her next move. Seelie and Kaelie wait for her to finish not wanting to interrupt her train of thought. "We could start spreading rumors about her being a slut. I will take a while for people to believe but if we change the accounts to be about bashing Clary our following will pick up since people are naturally drawn to drama and love gossip whether it's real or fake. Then all we have to do is take pictures of her with all three of our guys and post them. She will look like a lying manipulative cheating skank who can't be trusted. Then no one will like her anymore and the guys won't want the negative attention." Camille smiled wickedly as she looked down towards Clary.
"I like that plan." Seelie said as she followed Camille's line of sight.
"It will take a while but it will be worth the wait." Kaelie nodded but didn't look happy at all. "But isn't there anything we can do now? I really want to hurt that bitch now." She finally said glaring daggers at the clueless girl.
"Well her party is in three days. If she happen to fall and hit her face or get hit by a ball then she would end up with a nasty bruise. That would be just horrible." Seelie said as her last sentenced dripped with sarcasm and venom.
"I love the way you think. I'll do the honors. Besides what is she going to do, uninvited to a party I wasn't invited to in the first place?" Kaelie giggled with glee at the thoughts running though her mind.
Kaelie made her way down to the court where Clary Simon Sebastian and Maia were playing volleyball. She couldn't have hoped for a more perfect game. Seelie asked Mr. Garroway if she could cut in and he agreed. She chooses the opposite team of Clarys of course and waited until she and Clary were perfectly lined up. The ball went back and forth for what seemed like forever until it was finally passed to Kaelie who spiked the ball as hard as she could towards Clarys face. Clary saw the ball coming a little too fast and started to cover her face but it was coming too fast. Her hands managed to stop the ball from hitting her eyes but it impacted with full force on her forehead. The hit wouldn't have been as bad if she hadn't lost her balance and smacked her head on the floor. The loud thud was audible throughout the gym. For a second Kaelie panicked and managed to look truly horrified on the outside when people began to glare at her.
Inside her fleeting moment of guilt was overshadowed by the joy of having caused her pain. Everyone stood still for a second and then quickly began to frantically run to Clary.
"Clary." Simon yelled and ran to his fallen friend. He gently cradled her head and straightened out her body. "Clary can you hear me?"
"Mmm" Clary moaned as she felt a searing pain radiate her body. She couldn't talk no matter how hard she tried. Her eyes were impossible to open. She could hear Simon talking to her but he seemed to be far away. Her world kept spinning out of control. She was afraid.
"Omg Clary sweetheart please stay awake." Maia frantically said to her friend who wouldn't respond. "I think she has a concussion."
"Step aside let me see her." Mr. Garroway said as he pushed through the crowd hovering over Clary. "Clary if you can hear me please say something. Anything." He felt around her head and found a very swollen bump.
"Ow." That was all she could say. They jolt of pain was intense but not intense enough for her to be able to open her eyes. The voices were growing distant with every passing moment. She was afraid of being lost in the void that was enveloping her.
"Clary for the love of God please wake up." Sebastian said as the panic devoured his face.
"Clary please say something." Izzy stared at her too petrified to move. "Please try."
"Move back. I'm going to take her to the nurse's office."
Those were the last words she heard. Then she felt strong arms pick her up and take her away before the pain became unbearable. She could feel everything but the dizziness was too much. She was desperately holding on her consciousness. Her friends words swimming in her mind. She will not allow herself to pass out.
O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O
(20 minutes later)
"That bitch did it on purpose." Izzy spat the words.
"I don't doubt it. How could Kaelie stoop so low? She just stood there." Maia said as she paced back and forth.
"You two will deal with her later. The only thing that matters right now is. ."
"Simon!" Jon's voice came out of nowhere with every ounce of panic, fear and anger in his one word. "What the hell happened?"
"We were in gym when Kaelie spiked the ball and it hit Clary in the head and caused her to fall and hit her head again on the floor." Simon said to Jon who looked like he was ready to rip someone apart.
"Is she okay? Why aren't you in there with her?" Jon grabbed Simon's shoulders nearly shaking him for answers. Simon didn't mind. He knows when it comes to Clary no one can keep him away.
"We don't know. We aren't allowed in there. The nurse said she will tell us what is going on as soon as she can. Mr. Garroway barely let us stay here after he dropped her off." He placed his hand on Jon's shoulder, he gave him a reassuring look but he knew if someone didn't come out soon he was going to break in.
"She better be okay. I swear to god that girl better beg Clarys forgiveness." Jon's gaze turned predatory.
Izzy scoffed. "That bitch doesn't like Clary. I can tell. But if she did do this on purpose I'm sure Maia and I can teach her some manners." Izzy looked at Maia who nodded back. A look of vengeance danced in their eyes. Jon was all too grateful for them, no matter how mad a girl made him he could never raise his hand to one.
(The door opens)
"Is she okay?" Jon is the first to speak to the nurse.
"She is fully awake now. It took her a while to get over the nausea and dizziness but she is better now. You may see her but keep the talking low. I gave her something for the dizziness but she needs to take the next week to ten days light. No exercise or exertion. She needs to stay away from all sport activities to be sure. But other than that she is perfectly fine." She smiled and Jon felt a weight lift off his shoulders.
"Thank you." Jon says to the nurse before bolting to the door. Simon Izzy and Maia are behind him. They find Clary standing up in the room with the shades pulled so she can adjust to the light slowly.
"Clare bear you're ok." Jon rushes to her side and envelops her in a hug. She smiles as she hugs him back. Jon always worries too much.
"Of course I'm alright. It's me were talking about." Clary pushes him back to look into his eyes. He is on the brink of crying even though he wouldn't allow anyone else to see. "By the way who told you?"
"I did." Simon piped up and went to hug Clary on the other side. He didn't want to let go but he wanted to explain. "Everyone was pretty much texting what happened to you. So I had to tell Jon before he found out by someone else." Simon was relieved but still wouldn't let go of her hand.
"Please tell me no one took my picture while I was on the ground." Clary said mortified at the realization of the possibility of picture s of her on the floor floating around.
"Hell no. Anyone who dared pull out their phone near you was given the death glare by us." Maia spoke from behind the guys. They both stepped aside and Clary hugged Maia and Izzy. "I'm so glad you're ok."
"Me too. It was scary." Izzy said as she squeezed her hand.
"I could hear you the whole time I just couldn't speak. I felt like the whole gym was on the ocean in the middle of a typhoon." I was hoping not to puke on someone." They all chuckled at that.
"Well good thing you didn't. I was holding you the whole time." Simon said as he rubbed Clarys arm. Clary stretched and smiled.
"How long have I been here anyways?" Clary asked as she looked for a clock.
"Gym is almost over. I'm sure the nurse will let you go back to class but you will have to take things slow." Simon said. Jon took her hand and kissed it.
"Clary, do you want to post pone your party?" Jon asked a little afraid of the reaction he might get.
"No! We have never done that. Besides I may not be able to dance for hours like I'm used to but that doesn't mean I can't still enjoy my own party." Clary gave Jon her sad eyes and that was it. Her party will go on as planned. Jon simply nodded. "Oh crap. Do mom and dad know?" Clarys eyes went wide. She knows her dad would arrive with an ambulance to take her away if he knew.
"Like I said I took care of things. I called your mom and had her calmly tell him. They know and I just texted them your status. So you're ok." Simon smiled as he held up his phone. Everyone just looked at him wide eyed.
"Is there anything you didn't take care of?" Izzy asks him again being amazed at how Simon is so aware of every detail. Except when it comes to her.
"Yeah, I didn't slap that little bitch." Simon said angry.
"What are you talking about?" Clary asked looking at her best friend with a little fear. He never acted like that.
"Kaelie is the one who hit you with the ball. A lot of people are pretty mad at her for what she did to you." Maia said.
"Guys it was an accident. It's not like she did it on purpose." Clary said then all her friends looked at each other. "Right?"
"Well we aren't sure but we know she is the one who has been after Jace like crazy so she may hold some resentment against you." Maia said while Jon tensed. If Jace is responsible for this ill kill him this time.
"That's one theory but we don't know so for now we will wait until she apologizes. She will apologize." Simon said and that ended the conversation.
O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O
Fuck! Everyone thinks I tried to kill the little slut. I wouldn't have minded if it wasn't for all the stares. God she keeps ruining my life.
"Kaelie what the hell." Seelie said as she pulled Kaelie to her. "People are pissed off. They are saying you tried to kill her and now rumors are spreading." Seelie says whisper shouting.
"I didn't think she would fall back and smack her head. For all we know she was faking it to get more attention." Kaelie said in a low voice so no one would hear her.
"Yeah well she wasn't, her brother knows and he is mad. You know how Jon is about her. So unless you want the rumors to get worse you are going to have to apologize to her." Kaelie's eyes widened with anger. "I know I know but if you don't want Jace finding out and thinking it was purpose you have to put an end to it. He will probably never talk to you again if you don't convince her it was an accident."
"Ugh!" Kaelie shouted. "Fine, god I hate that bitch."
O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O
Clary was allowed to leave the nurses office 15 minutes after 6th period started. Jon stayed with her the whole time refusing to leave her. Simon and the girls reluctantly left as long as Clary texted them she was ok every once in a while. She was a little too busy however talking to her dad who wanted to sue everyone he could. Valentine was seething at the thought of Clary being hurt. It took Jonathan forever to calm him down. She could practically hear the fumes coming out of his ears.
"I told you he would overreact." Clary said as she looked at Jon who looked exhausted.
"I know but I thought I would never talk him out of coming down here. Is that what I sound like to you?" Jon asked and then quickly put up his hand shaking his head when Clary was about to answer. "Never mind I'd rather live in denial."
She laughed. She knew their dad was worse than Jon. Secretly she loved being spoiled by him.
"Come on lets gets out of here. I don't want to miss out more of class before people start spreading rumors that I died." At Jon glare Clary shakes her head. "Kidding geez."
"I'm walking you to class so don't try to protest." Jon said as he held Clary upright even though she didn't need him.
She felt much better and she could walk just fine but she knows nothing will sway Jon. She is in for a horrible next few days with everyone dotting over her. Great.

Raphael'sP.O.V.
6th period
It's been an eternity since I heard the news. Everyone was talking about it. Kaelie hit Clary with volleyball and knocked her out. According to Izzy and Maia's page that is close enough to the truth. Clary is fine and ok and the nurse will let her return to class. So far she hadn't returned. I hope my Hermosa is okay. Wait, why am I worried? She is just another girl. She is just another girl. She is just . . .
(The door opens)
Clary walks in looking a little pink and with Jon beside her.
"Sorry to interrupt, just bringing Clary to class." Jon hands the teacher a note and nods back. He whispers something to her and hands her a bag. She looks gorgeous even when flushed. Clary nods and hugs him and Jon leaves but not before glaring at me. Typical.
I inwardly smile knowing exactly what is about to happen next.
"Clary you are paired with Raphael for this assignment. I'm sure he will catch you up." The teacher tells her and she takes a seat next to me. Everyone goes back to their assignments stealing glances at Clary trying to see any damage.
Thankfully Clary only has a small bump on the corner of her forehead but if she really did fall back I suspect there to be more. Mi probe Hermosa. (My poor Beautiful one.)
"Okay so what are we doing?" Clary says as she turns to me.
"First things first. How are you?" I asked catching her gaze. Her eyes were soft hiding nothing. A little amusement danced around in the back for some reason.
"What. No 'Hermosa' now. This is you serious?" She asked with a smile. Obviously she noticed something I didn't. I was actually concerned about her. What the hell?
"Right now no. Answer the question. I've had to rely on rumors and the posts your friends put up. I would rather hear it from the source." That got her attention.
"I didn't even know that. Well aside from almost throwing up and the feeling of falling every second I am okay. I feel much better actually. Except for the giant welt that hurts if I touch it." She smiled. Whether it was to make herself feel better or me I don't know. I didn't believe it. She looks so small and fragile, the thought of a fall from her tiny height feels too wrong. I don't like these feelings.
"Well as long as you're fine . . . Hermosa." I give her my most sincere smile. Our eyes meet and she smiles right back. God I could get lost in those green eyes.
"So what's our assignment?" She pulls back and focuses her gaze. I don't know why she pulled away but it can't be good.
"Let me show you. . ."
O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O.O
Raphael spends the entire remaining class period dotting over Clary. He refused to let her get up or even handle the book. She blushed every once in a while. She was completely embarrassed by his attention but she knew it would be nothing compared to her parents. Especially her father who more than likely would be waiting when she and Jon got home.
Right now her only priority was trying to complete their assignment. It was difficult to concentrate with her father, brother, Simon, Izzy and Maia texting her every few minutes. Upon seeing how overwhelmed she was Raphael suggested she post a short message saying she was ok and tagging her friends to it. That seemed to do the trick since the texts stopped. Except for Jon and her dad. She told them to stop since she needed to focus and she told Jon to calm down and not follow her around. He has to be in class and she didn't want him to be late because of her.
Raphael smirked at the thought of his teeny tiny Hermosa controlling big bad Jon. It was ridiculous but entertaining. When the bell finally rang Raphael picked up her things and told her he would walk her to class to make sure she was ok. Plus no matter what she said he wasn't going to take a no for an answer. She sighed and agreed.
"You know I can carry my own things right?" Clary said to and eye rolling Raphael.
"Yes. I also know that after a concussion you shouldn't exert yourself and I won't let you carry something heavy." He raised an eyebrow and looked at her expectantly.
"Why am I surrounded by stubborn guys? Is it me or something?" Clary covered her face more than likely hiding her blushing face.
No puedes ser mas Hermosa. (You couldn't be more beautiful.)
"Maybe it's because you're so small and look like a porcelain doll that could break at any moment." He dint mean to say that. It was too close to how he saw her. He never lets someone see a glimpse of how he thinks other than his usual lecherous thoughts.
"Great tiny, fragile and clumsy is all I heard." She gave him a sideways glance. He smirked back.
"Of course that's all you heard." He huffed. "Admit you like being the object of your brother's affection."
"I never denied it." Clary says proudly making Raphael laugh at her bluntness. Yet another thing to like about her.
They arrived at Clarys class and Raphael handed her back her bag. He moved towards her and put his arms around her. A risky move on his part but his worries vanished when Clary wrapped her arms around him too without hesitation. He wanted to kiss her as well but he promised to back off. Besides hugging someone who just had a nasty fall is normal. Right?
"I'll see you around Hermosa." Raphael smirked at her. Masking the happiness he felt to be able to put his arms around her.
She giggled. "Now we're back to Hermosa." She smacked his arm. "So now you're convinced I'm fine?" She asked.
"No, but I'm still going to call you Hermosa." He placed his arm behind his neck and rubbed it. He looked down at her looking every bit of a dreamy member of a boy band. "It's officially your title. No one else can take it." Clary blushed at his words. He smiled loving her reaction. "See you later Beautiful."
"See you later." With that Raphael walked away leaving the blushing Clary behind to go to class. It took her a moment to regain her composure. He sure wasn't making her decision easy.
Clary walked in and all eyes were on her. Some students made their way to her and asked if she was okay. She answered all of their questions. Some asked if it was true Kaelie hurt her on purpose. Clary said she doubted it and said she was mostly focused on trying to open her eyes rather than on Kaelie. People nodded and went back to their chairs. Jace was the only one out of sight. Clary saw him walk beside her out of nowhere.
She didn't know he was around watching Raphael walk her to class and hug her outside. He walked in behind her and listened as she answered their questions. His blood boiled when he heard Kaelie mentioned. If she did this on purpose I will sick Izzy on her.
"Clary?" He asked from behind her in a low voice as to not startle her.
"Jace. Hi, I didn't see you." Clary jumped a little but she wasn't scared.
"Yeah sorry I just got in. I just wanted to know if you were ok. But by the looks of things you're still in one piece so I'm guessing you're ok." Smirking his signature smirk. It put her at ease a little. He didn't treat her like a doll. A welcome change.
"Yes. No biggie. The nurse said I had to take it easy and not exert myself so other than that nothing has changed." Clary smiled and the knot in his stomach unraveled.
"Good. You had the whole school worried Morgenstern. If you need anything at all I'll be across the room."
"Okay. Thanks." Clary smiled and he smiled back and with that he went back to his chair.
Jace sits in his chair pondering what to do next. No doubt Jon would be too distracted with Clary to pay him any attention. But if he found out Kaelie was tied to him then his safety would be compromised. Damn that bitch. Jace pulls out his phone and hides it out of view.
Kaelie if you hurt Clary on purpose in any way I will make sure you regret it! -J
What? No Jacey I swear it was an accident. I wouldn't do something so cruel on purpose. –K
I hope for your sake it was. –J
Jace puts his phone away and continues with their assignment. He glances at Clary every once in a while to make sure she is okay. Clary looks like she has every day, smiling and painting her worries away. It doesn't look like the fall affected her at all but Jace knows from experience that doesn't last.

AAAAARGHH
That bitch is making my life worse! I should have spiked the ball harder. I cannot believe I have to apologize to her.
I close my phone and hope her stupid little entourage isn't there when I approach her. They would make it worse. If Jon is there I'm screwed. There's no way in hell I want to piss him off, my social life would die instantly.
I could go see her during her track practice, I know Camille would let me go since it's in all of our best interests. She wouldn't have Jon or Jace around since they have soccer practice. Yes that's when ill 'apologize'. I just have to do it not mean it. Ugh. I feel dirty already.
Looking up from my phone I can sense people glaring at me. It's been happening since word spread about Clary. Now the whole school is being sympathetic to her unworthy ass. Great, I made her more lovable.

(Bell Rings)
Jace walks over to Clary and gives her an expectant look while holding out his hand. She takes a second to realize what he means. She rolls her eyes and hands him her bag.
"I can carry it on my own." Clary says as they walk out of the class.
"Yeah but you're supposed to take it easy. Besides we are headed in the same direction anyways." Jace says as he ushers her through the hallways making their way outside.
"Fine. But just so you know Jon will more than likely be waiting for me. In my state I don't think I would be able to stop him from killing you." Clary presses her lips together to stop herself from laughing.
Jace looks at her and sees that she doesn't know. He debates for a moment in his head whether or not to tell her and decides the latter. Her sympathy could help. "I see your brother didn't tell you. Then again I don't see why he would." He says keeping his tone neutral but expressing a little pain in his eyes.
Clary catches his sight and all humor vanishes.
"What do you mean? What did he say?" She asks trying to figure out what she missed.
"He didn't really say much. It's what he and the team did." Jace stops not wanting to give her all the information without a little effort on her part.
"Tell me then. It's not nice to tease Jace." Jace smirks at the initial thoughts that swarm his mind. Then he sighs and proceeds to tell her.
"He and the team tricked me into being temporary goalie on the pretense that Jordan hurt his leg. I quickly realized something was wrong when they all aimed the ball at me not the goal. Jon told me to never hurt you again and then I was hit by everyone at the same time for what felt like forever. Needless to say I sat out the rest of practice." Jace looked at Clary who had her face in her hands. After a moment of her not speaking he began to worry. Then she started shaking.
"Clary are you okay? I swear I wouldn't have told you if it would upset you so much." Jace kept cursing at himself for being so stupid.
Clary looks up and she has a few tears but that's not what upsets him. It's the fact that she's smiling.
"That was not funny." Jace says indignantly.
"I know it's not and I'm not laughing at what they did to you. Trust me I'm mad about that. It's the fact that Jon is still doing stuff like this. Plus I'm also a little happy he didn't actually kill you. He never shows restraint like that." Clary says wiping he tears away.
"Still? Happy? Restraint? Those are not words I would associate with that event." Jace says relaxing she wasn't happy about him being punished no matter if he deserved it or not.
"Jon has ALWAYS been way too overprotective of me. The fact that he let you off easy is great to me. It lets me know my brother listened to me when I told him I would never forgive him of he went overboard. I heard him talking about burying you in different places. I was a little scared on how he would pull that off so I talked to him. Besides look me in the eyes and tell me you wouldn't have done the exact same thing or worse to someone who did that to your sister." Clary crossed her arms and looked at Jace who just sighed and turned away. She was right and he knew it.
"Remind me to never try to argue with you when you have a point." Jace says as he decides to drop the topic since they are approaching the track site.
"That will always be the case. Just nod and agree with whatever I say." Clary smirks as she walks more carefully on the dirt with her heels.
"I see stubbornness runs in the family." Clary starts laughing and then so does Jace.
"Never let Jon hear you say that." Clary smiles and Jace hands her back her bag. "Thanks. I guess you better hurry to practice, you wouldn't want to give Jon another reason to punish you." Clary perks up her eyebrow.
"Yeah I guess I wouldn't want . . . . Well speak of the devil himself." Jace looks past Clary and sees Jon approaching with an evil glare on his face upon seeing Jace. He decides it would be best to not even touch Clary.
"Jon. I told you I'm fine. I won't be participating not that Coach would even consider letting me." Clary decides to step up to him and turning him sideways so she can see them both.
"I don't care I still wanted to see you." Jon said as he still had his arms around her. "Jace, what are you doing here?"
"I – "
"Oh I couldn't carry my bag and keep my balance all the way over here in these shoes so I asked him to help me since the soccer field is on his way." Clary interjected knowing Jon wouldn't go against her well being.
"Why didn't you tell me I would have come over to help you?" Jon said as he turned his attention to his sister.
"I don't like making you worry for something so small. Besides I'm fine, Jace made sure I was ok." Clary smiled at her brother who just swallowed his next words.
"Well I'm going to go change and give you two some privacy. Bye Clary." Jace said as he took his cue to leave.
"Bye Jace." Clary waved and turned her attention back to her brother.
"Jon are you mad because Jace helped me out? If it would have known it would make you mad I wouldn't have asked for help." Clary said slightly pouting. Damn she was good.
"No it's not that." Jon said as he held her.
"Oh. Then maybe it's the fact that you and the team beat him with soccer balls." Clary said with a little girl voice and evil in her eyes. Her brother's voice disappeared as he stared at her in horror.
"We. . . I. . . Wh-" Jon tried to defend himself.
"Save it. It took two days but someone finally told me what happened. Did you really think no one would brag about that? I cannot believe you did that Jon. What's worse is that Jace never even told me. He probably thinks I had something to do with it. I'm surprised he even helped me." Clary pushed him away and crossed her arms. She made sure to not let him know Jace is the one who told him. She wouldn't want him to go for round two.
"Clary I didn't. Well I did but. Ugh who told you?" Jon finally settled on an emotion and of course he chose anger.
"Really? That's what you come out with? Jon I am not going to tell you. You cannot just go around hurting people like that. I could have handled him on my own. So no more vengeful acts. Unless I tell you to carry them out. Got it?" Clary looks sternly at Jon who waits a moment and sighs.
"Got it." He won't win against her.
"Good. Now go back to practice and leave him alone. You better behave." She hugs Jon.
"Okay." He kisses her head. "I'll come get you as soon as practice is done." They hug again and Jon leaves. Clary hopes he doesn't try and investigate who spilled the beans.
Clary goes to the track and takes a seat on a nearby bench. Coach walks over to her and they talk for a few minutes. He wants to make sure she is okay and to double check if she knows she won't be able to train for a while. She tells him she understands why she won't. Coach tells her he nearly gave him a heart attack. He told her how limb her body felt and thought the worst. She told him she was stronger than she looked and with that coach walked away at the sight of Embry and Quil fighting. They were play fighting of course but Luke didn't know them that well yet. Sam just kept watching amused at the sight of neither one of them getting the upper hand on the other. Sometimes when Clary watches them she thinks they act like a pack of wolves. Especially when she's seen them eat.
"So I take it that you're better now." A voice from behind her startles her for a moment before recognizing it.
"Yes. I wish I could train but there's no way that happening." Clary turns and sees Alec smiling at her. "So are you here to make sure I'm in one piece or to point out that while I'm out of commission you get to be the fastest runner. For now." Clary smirks making Alec smile wider.
"You must be okay if you can make jokes." He walks over to her and sits down. "I'm glad you're okay though."
Clary looks into his beautiful blue eyes and smiles. "Thanks. I hate to have people worry."
"Few people are worth the grief. Thankfully you're worth it." Clary blushes. "On the bright side now you get to watch me train and see what the embodiment of speed looks like." Alec smirks as Clary rolls her eyes. There was the cute guy who couldn't pull off arrogance.
"I think it would be more like a tragic catastrophe in slow motion I will be deigned to watch for almost two weeks.' Clary huffs as if in pain.
"Awwe. Little Clary has jokes. Well while you are sitting here don't forget to cheer for me. I know you like to watch me win." He winks at her and stifles the horrified realization of what he just did. Holy crap I can flirt. After many failed attempts though.
"Well someone is feeling cocky." Clary regains her composure.
"Not really. It's just fun to make you blush or smile."
"So looking like a tomato is amusing?" Clary asks wanting to know in what way he meant it.
"It's a perk but no. Seeing you happy is great. Making you happy is amazing." He decided to be blunt. No way was tip toeing getting him anywhere and after seeing her with Jace he wasn't going to be left behind.
"Then mission accomplished." Clary said and smiled. She was leaning in a little when a whistle broke them out of their thoughts. Coach called practice to begin and Alec got up.
"I gotta go. Don't forget to cheer Morgenstern." Alec winked and turned around to leave.
"I will when you actually impress me." Clary retorted wishing she was never interrupted.
Alec only shook his head hating the Coach for the first time. He had no idea how the hell to kiss her in the first place but he hoped the day would come nonetheless.
Clary watched the team go through their regular warm ups. I felt different to watch them from afar but it was nice. Almost peaceful. Alec kept stealing glances towards her and she pretended not to notice. It was nice to have his attention from time to time. She was too into the practice to hear someone approaching behind her. Clary was always clueless to her surroundings.
"Clary." She yelped at the sound of her name. Clary tuned around to see Kaelie behind her. How long has she been here?
"Kaelie I didn't hear you." Clary said as she clutched her chest for a moment.
"Yeah blame it on the shoes. I just wanted to see you and say that I never meant to hurt you today." Kaelie looked away from Clary. It looked like guilt to anyone watching but in reality it was so Clary couldn't see the smile Kaelie was making.
"Kaelie its okay. I'm sure you didn't mean to hurt me. I'm fine now I promise." Clary tried to give her a smile but Kaelie wouldn't look at her. She didn't want Kaelie to feel so bad. It was an accident of course.
Kaelie turned around with her eyes red as if she were crying. "Are you sure you're okay? I swear I didn't mean to. Clary, I'm. . I'm. . ." Kaelie looked away and covered her face and began to shake slightly.
Clary looked and all her doubts washed away. "It's okay Kaelie I forgive you." She wanted to console but thought better.
A few moments later Kaelie dropped her hands and shook her head. She didn't look up. "Thanks. I better go. I kind of left without permission."
"Yeah no problem. Bye." Clary waved at her and Kaelie just nodded. Clary didn't need an apology but was happy to know it was an accident. Sadly for her she didn't see the huge smile on Kaelies face as she walked away without ever having truly apologized. She fell for her words.
Practice was about to end for her team when a pair of strong arms wrapped around her. She was about to scream when she smelled Jon's cologne. She knew it was him instantly and relaxed.
"Want to give me a heart attack now too Jon?"
"No just wanted to tell you that practice ended early and I wanted to walk with you to the car." Jon smiled and picked up her bag.
"I would rather not leave." Jon paused and looked at her confused.
"Dad will more than likely be waiting with a doctor at the house by the time we get there." Clary walked by her brother who broke out in laughter. He knew something close to that was about to happen but he wasn't going to say a word.
"You know dad is just looking out for you." Jon rubbed her back and opened her car door.
"Yeah yeah yeah. I could use with a little less caring sometimes." Clary buckled herself in before Jon had the thought to do it himself.
Jon climbed in and secured himself. As he turned on the engine he turned to look at his sister in the eyes.
"Today is not one of those days."
