Yay! The eleven –year-old sister just turned twelve! WOOO! Wait, what? You don't care? *sniff* Okay, then *goes and cries quietly in a corner*

Disclaimer: Y'know, I've started to question what idiot started the whole 'disclaimer' thing. This is a site for FANfiction, and I seriously doubt that the actual authors of the books sit and write on this site, so no one on Fanfiction actually owns the series/book they're writing Fanfiction for. So I will hereby make a STAND, AND REFUSE TO SUCCUMB TO IGNORANT TRENDS! What're you going to do, sue me? :P

Argh. I get annoyed with so many things. Twilight is raising my blood pressure, which is worrying because I'm twelve. At least I'll die hating Twilight.

On a lighter note, I've been thinking of rewriting Twilight, and making it less… Twilight , and then posting it on Fanfiction. Do people want to see that, or is it just me?

Anywho, review, favourite, do what you do. ON WITH THE CHAPTER!

Chapter 3- Lily Evans

Lily had been wondering if the whole 'wizardry' thing had been a sick joke until this point. Yes, she had seen Diagon Alley, bought potion ingredients and even a wand, but only when she saw students her age talking about Hogwarts like they knew what was coming their entire lives, did the realization strike her.

She was a wizard.

And Tuney wasn't.

Hogwarts would have been infinitely better if Petunia was with her, she mused. Yes, she'd been fighting with Petunia every spare moment until it was time for her to leave, but she strongly suspected- no, she knew, that Petunia wouldn't have been so distant if she had gotten her Hogwarts letter along with her. And Lily wished she had.

There was nothing she could do about that. So there she was, in the entrance to the Great Hall, too preoccupied by her own thoughts to admire or even notice the intricately carved statues, the patterns on the walls and ceiling, not even the odd dozen paintings that were painted so well that their eyes seemed to follow the little group of eleven-year-olds.

"Why the long face?"

"Oh, Sev, you know why."

Severus Snape had been Lily's saving grace. She didn't think she could have coped with the stress of leaving her family or entering s new strange world if it hadn't been for him. He'd patiently answered Lily's every question in the hundreds of hours they'd spent together, everything from why wizards kept themselves a secret from Muggles to where they bought their toothpaste.

"Lily, it's time to let that sister of yours go. You heard what she said to you when you left. You're on a different path now."

"You don't know what it's like for your sister to call you a freak," Lily replied miserably.

"You know-"

"I know perfectly well what she said!" She'd thought of nothing else since stepping on to the train.

I hope you never come back. Petunia's last words hung over her like a dark cloud.

Severus opened his mouth like he was going to reply but his lips moved soundlessly. He looked confused and tried to speak again. He wasn't successful.

Bewildered, Lily looked around for the cause of this. She noticed the awful Potter boy she'd met on the train with his wand out, quietly laughing in a corner with some stupid boy he'd made friends with.

Suddenly furious, Lily marched up to the boys, who didn't look quite as amused as they had just a moment before.

"Why'd you do that? What did he do to you?"

"Nothing," Potter replied nonchalantly "I just thought he was having a little too much fun talking to you, don't you agree, Sirius?"

"Put him right! How do you both even know how to cast spells yet?"

"Oh, we're not just funny, we happen to be incredibly smart, too. We're the entire package." Sirius grinned.

"Put him right. NOW." Lily gave them her best death stare, which happened to be quite scary.

Both boys gulped and James took out his wand and muttered something under his breath while he waved it, just as a teacher with a pointed hat approached them.

She immediately stepped away from them and began to walk towards Severus, who'd apparently regained his voice, and she then heard one of them say "You know, she was actually quite pretty."

She turned back to them to give one last glower before following Severus into the Great Hall.

"You all right?"

"Yeah, thanks. Potter is such a coward. Anyway, remember, Slytherin, okay?"

"Yeah, I remember. Why is Slytherin the best house, anyway?"

"Lil, there isn't a reason. It just is. Trust me."

And trust him she did.

She'd heard many things about the Great Hall from Sev, but nothing could have prepared her for the sight laid before her eyes. Surely a king's palace couldn't have been this painstakingly decorated. She could have looked at it for days and still not have noticed all the details.

The group kept moving forward and Lily jogged to keep up. She squeezed Sev's hand and began to worry.

The Hat which Sev told her about sat on the stool and began to say or sing something of some kind, but that was the least of Lily's problems. She had already lost her parents and Tuney. She couldn't lose Severus, her only friend in this place.

What if she wasn't in Slytherin?

Blood began to pound in Lily's ears.

"Amburst, Becky!"

Severus looked at Lily questioningly, as if he knew something was wrong. He probably did, Lily thought, he knew her so well. She shook her head, meaning to tell him she was fine, even though she was definitely the opposite of it at the moment.

Names were called. People tried on the Hat, one by one. It paused a minute, almost as if to think, and then yelled out a house. Griffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw.

Slytherin.

Lily went weak in the knees when her name was finally called. She slowly began to walk up the stairs and put the Hat on. She looked at Severus one last time.

He mouthed ,You'll be fine. She smiled.

She was taken by surprise when a small voice spoke in her ear. It started to tell her she was intelligent, brave, exceptionally kind. How was the Hat able to get inside her head? Lily felt nauseous.

"Now, Ravenclaw or Gryffindor for you? Hmm..." The Voice said, after a minutes worth of talking.

Neither, Lily thought. Slytherin, please. Slytherin.

"Slytherin? Are you sure, dear?" The Voice said, surprisingly. Could it read her thoughts? "Well, if you really wanted it… you would be very unhappy there, dear. You'd fit in better in a house like… GRYFFINDOR!"

That Hat shouted the last part out to the whole Hall. The table on the far left erupted in cheers.

A wave of disappointment swept over Lily. Severus looked gutted. There's still a chance, Lily thought. He's exactly like me. He'll be in Gryffindor, she assured herself.

She tuned out most of what was happening, but snapped out of her reverie just in time to see which house Potter would get Sorted into.

Of course, he had to get Sorted into Gryffindor.

Lily could not be in the same house as…. Potter. She'd known him for a couple of hours, and she already knew he was arrogant, selfish, and a bully, everything that she prided herself on not being. However, in the moment, the only coherent thought in her head was concerning Sev.

He was going to be the last person Sorted.

Three people left before him.

Two.

One.

Severus Snape walked up to the Hat in what seemed to be slow motion. Gryffindor. Please be in Gryffindor. Lily chanted this over and over in her head like a mantra until the Hat opened its mouth wide and yelled…

Slytherin.

Lily was in the same house as Potter, but not Severus, who she'd spent the last five years with.

Who she told all her secrets to.

Who was the first and best real friend she'd ever made.

Wonderful.

That might have been my longest chapter yet. Meh.

Review and TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK OF THE TWILIGHT IDEA. Pretty please?

Oh, and please leave suggestions in for who I should do next!
