Chapter Twenty-One

THE TWENTY HUMAN LAWS OF THE GOVERNMENT OF DRAGON

1. HUMAN shall worship any gods besides Dragon. All other religions are prohibited.

2. HUMAN shall take Dragon's name in vain.

3. HUMANS shall worship AND PUBLICLY ANNOUNCE THEIR ALLEIGANCE TO DRAGON.

4. HUMAN shall murder.

5. HUMAN shall steal.

6. No HUMAN shall lie to the government.

7. Government has the right to enter and search a HUMAN's home without warrant.

8. No HUMAN shall barter. Any form of goods or currency that is not approved by the government as currency shall be turned over to the government immediately.

9. No HUMAN shall bear arms unless a member of the government.

10. Intercourse is prohibited along with any forms of prevention of procreation including those that terminate life.

11. Men must be submissive to their masters. Women must be submissive to their husbands, and children to their parents. No expections.

12. Wives who commit adultery will be reborn.

19. No one is allowed to be out DURING curfew, which are between the hours of 7 pm and 7am without permission from the government.

The world had changed. Men with the doctrines of Rick Thornton now controlled the world and its new laws. Some called it World War III. Others called it the Humans versus the Humanoid War where the humanoids won and the age of mankind was slowly coming to an end. Only months after the eleventh month world war, the New World Regime or the government as they preferred to call themselves now controlled the entire planet. Prime Minister Hino was ousted out of power once again and the leaders of the nations were now replaced and headed by members of the New World Regime. Anyone who protested this transition or was considered a threat was assassinated.

The East was shattered by the attacks of the war. Only few cities like Tokyo and New Delhi still stood, while the West was miraculously left unhinged especially the European cities. There were no longer over two hundred individual countries. Nuclear bombs demolished entire countries and population without a trace of human life for miles with the exception of skeletons of extinct human beings and the ruins of once great cities. The government divided the world into four quadrants based on their region. The Americas was Quadrant One. Europe was Quadrant Two. Asia was Quadrant Three. Africa and the Middle East was Quadrant Four. Australia no longer existed since it was completed destroyed and sunk into the bottom of the ocean.

Quadrant One was mostly populated by the middle class, those who were not rich and were only a paycheck away from being poor. Quadrant Two was mostly populated by the wealthy elite, members of the NWR (New World Regime). It remained the epicenter of art, class, music, and sophistication. It cost a small fortune to live there. The only poor who lived there were servants to the elite. Both humanoids and humans. The third and fourth quadrants were where the poor lived in the wastelands and fallen cities of Asia and Africa. Some of the humans and humanoids that resided there remained in their home country after the war and did not migrate to the west like many did. Some travelled across the ocean before traveling became too expensive. Others tried to move to Quadrant Two. Only months of trying to afford living there where opportunities were scarce and the rich were very particular about their servants, these humans found themselves returning to the East and living among the poor, where they created goods and services receiving only pennies to the dragoons.

There was only one currency now called the dragoon, golden coins and yellow paper currency with the symbol of a red dragon in the center. All the religions were abolished with the exception of worshipping Dragon. Less than a million human were left in the world after the war compared to the millions of humanoids that now existed. Human children went to school with humanoid children and learnt only the history of the world that the government deemed fit for them to learn. Any lessons about resistance and rebellion were abolished from the history books.

The media was completely censored and only reported what the government approved of. Actors were allowed to continue to work, but only played roles that the government found acceptable. Female actresses watched as their roles were reduced to dumb blonde, hyper sexualized, or the damsel in distress. Any roles that were considered remotely feminist or female empowering were written out of the script or edited out of film. Nothing was green lighted or shown to the public without the government's approval.

Only the rich could afford to travel by land, sea, or air since the cost of travel skyrocket. The wealthy paycheck grew to extraordinary heights while the poor paychecks remain stagnant to only a four percent growth. The middle class hardly existed and there were really only the poor and the wealthy. It was the lowest growth in world history since the year before the Great Depression. The poor could not complain about their problems. Humans that complained were shot in board daylight by the military, which were a combination of all of the law enforcement throughout the entire planet now simply referred to as the military. The rebels were then "reborn" as they now call it with a speck red in their eyes completely obedient to their government.

Women were no longer allowed to hold a position of power since the government did not considered them smart enough to lead nations, even though history proved otherwise. Women history was eradicated from the history books also. Female leaders were ousted out of power and placed in subservient roles. The most shocking part was that some of the women in New World Regime were women who voted in favor of ousting women out of power believing that men would control the world better. As a consequence, they were removed out of their position of power after the law was enforced. All forms of birth control and abortions were abolished since the government considered them an abomination against God's will. Premarital sex was against the law even though there were rumors that the wealthy had underground sex clubs and used their humanoids as sex slaves. Women were preferred to be good housewives and procreators, but they were allowed to work. They simply could not hold a position of power. Of course the feminists protested and the world watched from holograms shown in the sky of how those who protested the new rules were killed in board daylight by the government and then reborn again as obedient Stepford wives.

It was against the law to speak out against the government. It was against the law to own any form of currency that was not a dragoon. Those caught bartering were killed. All forms of gold and currency from the old world were ordered to be turned over to the government in exchange for dragoons of the same value. Most of the citizens were ripped off by the government during this process but could not complain. The government had a right to barge into their homes without warrant only just cause. If the government thought someone was a threat to the government, the militia had a right to barge into their homes and search their belongings. Those who bear weapons and were not a part of the military were killed and reborn.

It was also forbidden for any citizen to be of any supernatural abilities. If you were found using magic or doing anything that was deemed superhuman such as but not limited to teleportation, telekinesis, levitation or witchcraft than you were to be reported to the government, imprisoned, and reborn. Reborn people no longer possessed their powers and were deemed harmless.

The world was only wonderful for those who were a part of the elite, the rich and powerful members of the New World Regime. Things had not changed for them except they grew richer and richer. They continued to live their lives as if nothing had happened. However, they were also aware that if they protested against the government, they would also be killed and reborn as a humanoid.

After the war, the girls returned to civilian lives. In order to return to their normal lives, they all pledged their allegiance to Dragon even though in their hearts they felt differently. Mina returned to the acting world. She already finished filming her movie Sailor V before the war and, it was now in post-production.

Ami was allowed to return to her hospital job in Chicago. She knew the rules and had to appear agreeably all the time and never complain. Edward was happy to see her again.

Lita had no choice but to allow Andrew to take over her company. The government refused to allow her to remain CEO of her business even though it was highly successful. It was ruled that women could not hold any position of power. Lita was outraged. Her options were to either give up her business or be reborn. She reluctantly gave up her dream, her business to her husband.

She fell into a deeper depression than she was already in. She was checked out and the doctors informed the couple that Lita suffered from post-partum depression and placed on her anti-depressants. Andrew watched as the medication turned her into a living zombie. She was afraid to leave the house and only wanted to spend time with the children. She wanted them to stay at home, but the government made it mandatory now for all children to attend school. Homeschool was forbidden and any parents caught homeschooling their children were imprisoned and reborn.

Andrew lied awake at night as he listened irritated to her dreaming about the dead faces of the outer scouts and the innocent people that she killed. At first he understood but after six months, he grew irritated because it was every night. He tried to make love to her, but she refused him. The government outlawed birth control. Lita was afraid of getting pregnant and did not want to bring any more children into the world that they lived in now. She was very fertile. She became pregnant with Sarah when she lost her virginity. She became pregnant with her unborn child with Nick immediately after she got off of birth control. She became pregnant with Zayden on the first time she made love to Andrew.

He offered the pull out method but that was not good enough for her. Some of the guys he spoke to were going through the same things with their wives and girlfriends. Some of them resorted to having sex with humanoids at the underground sex clubs since humanoids could not procreate and were supposedly disease free. Some of the guys said that humanoid sex was better because they remained young and tight. Andrew had no desire to cheat on his wife or do the other option that other men were doing. He refused to force himself on her like other men had done to their wives.

Women actually testified in front of the high courts about how their husbands had raped them after they refused to have sex with them. Many of the women were pregnant. The high judges ruled that a married woman could not accuse her husband of rape. It was her duty as his wife to please her husband. So married men now had the right to rape their wives, which he thought was sick.

Andrew rolled over and cuddled his wife. He sung to her a sweet love song. It always made her fall asleep.

Ami made a shocking discovery that pleased Andrew. Losing the war changed Ami. She became colder and more detached from the world, almost robotic. Her heart grew hard and her face indecipherable. No one knew what she was thinking. The cheerful carefree Ami was gone. She was now Dr. Muzino, the ice queen or dragon lady as his colleagues and now interns secretly called her behind her back. It did not bother her. She had to because if she cared, she risked being imprisoned and reborn. Edward constantly checked on her as she went to check on the patients. He offered her dinner at his place repeatedly. She rejected them six times before she finally gave in.

Adam opened the door and gave Ami the once over. She was dressed in a black mini underneath her knee length black coat with a matching sequin clutch bag in one hand and black stilettoes. Her blue short hair pinned back on one side by a black barrette. Adam moved to the side as Ami entered his penthouse apartment.

Adam was dressed nicely in a black, long sleeve black dress shirt, black slacks, and black loafers. His black hair was slick back and he was freshly shaved. She could smell the fresh scent of his aftershave and nice cologne when he leaned over to hug and kiss her greeting her as he took off her coat. With her coat hanging on his arm, he walked off to hang up her coat and checked on the chicken in the oven. He yelled out to her that it would be done any minute.

She stepped further into his apartment into the living room. It was exactly as she always pictured it to be. The walls were cool shade of gray and craved into geometric shapes of squares and rectangles along with the white ceiling above her which had a cool pattern design of circles and squares carved into the center. His sofa and love seat were light gray and reminded her of the soft fur of a gray cat. They were separated by a stone squared coffee table held up by skinny black square and rectangular shaped legs. His built in fireplace looked like a mirror as she could see her reflection through it. Over his fireplace was a concrete painting made of metal designed with geometric shapes. The windows were floor length and draped with long gray curtains that matched the color of the sofa set. In the corners of the room were oval black marble tables adorned with a golden sequin circles along the edges and legs of the table. Next to the end tables were floor length lamps designed with golden circles for the pole and a white cylinders covers. He liked everything perfect and symmetric like she did. He noticed the pictures of a beautiful family on the wall. She assumed that it was his mother and siblings and nieces and nephew. She assumed that he did not have children. He seemed like the type of guy that would make a great dad and constantly brag about his kids showing wallet sized photos of them every chance he got.

This was very romantic and all and great foreplay, but Ami was horny and desperately wanted sex to release the pent up tension that she felt from the war and how they lost. She had lovers before the war, but none of them could satisfy her like Eddie did in two days five years ago. She resorted to sex toys and her hand but none of them compared to how Eddie made her feel that weekend. She had given up on sex and it's been almost two years since she got laid. She busy herself with work even working double shifts just so she would not have to think about sex or going to her empty apartment. Edward Yamashita had ruined her for sex life and he was going to fix it tonight whether he wanted to or not.

Her birth control had expired and the government had ceased production of anymore, even condoms were not allowed to be sold in stores anymore. Of course, there was a black market. Every government was like a parent telling its children what to do. Children enjoyed rebelling against their parents. So illegal birth control had become a hot commodity even condoms which used to be free in most places, were selling at extraordinary prices. Women prayed to God to rid them of their wanton desires, but it failed many of them as they found themselves giving into their desires and becoming pregnant with children they did not want by men they did not want to marry. Ami watched as some of her patients, married and unmarried, walked in with blotched up abortions and cried when they learnt that could no longer bear children or died on the operating table. Her colleagues referred to them as stupid whores who got what they deserved while she remained silent. Other women suffered from blood clots and sometimes death from bad birth control pills that were toxic and usually expired.

Men were allowed rape women now, married or not. In the eyes of the new law, the woman was always the party responsible for her own so-called sexual assault. She watched in disgust on television as a young girl begged the government for help after being brutally rape while jogging in the park and the man was acquitted of all wrongdoing by arguing that she dressed too sexy. The girl was forced to married her rapist. The court's reasoning was by telling the court about the rape, she admitted to engaging in premarital sex and was found pregnant. She lived in a world now where women no longer had any rights, and the few they had were slowly slipping away. Whoever was behind this new government truly hated women.

Ami sat at a candlelight dinner in Eddie's dining room area with a sparkling glass chandelier hanging over them. Beautiful and relaxing music played softly in the background. The lights were dim giving the room an intimate glow. Eddie had prepared a delicious meal of baked chicken thighs and curry and rice with exotic herbs and spices she never tasted before. It was filling and mouthwatering as she savored every bite. She asked him about the meal and he told that he spent a couple of years living in a village in Thailand and the villagers taught him how. She sipped her wine as their eyes met across the table. She quickly broke away as he simply smiled at her. Every sip of the wine slowly clouded their minds and their inhibitions slipped as they tried to ignore the animalistic desire between them.

Ami laughed as they later ate dessert. She called him on his bullshit when he told her that he baked the German chocolate cake. She argued as she stuffed her mouth pigging out like Serena would and told him that she knew it was store brought. After five minutes of watching Ami pig out, he laughed loudly with his hands up and confessed that he did not make the cake.

After dinner, they went up onto the roof of his apartment complex. Eddie laid a blanket on the ground as Ami brought the champagne bottle. A tipsy and staggering Ami kicked off her shoes.

They lied on top of the blanket. Eddie's hands rested on his stomach as Ami had one of her arms underneath her head and the other on her stomach. Her legs crossed at the ankles. She wiggled her toes. It was chilly outside but she felt no coldness as they looked up at the starry sky and the new moon shining brightly above him. She listened as he pointed to her the different constellations like Orion and Leo. They took turns finishing off the bottle of wine until the empty bottle rolled around next to them on the ground. For a few moments, thing seemed normal like the way they were before the war.

Ami was not an idiot. She knew that Edward Yamashita was a good man. He lied to her once about his name, but everything else he told her was true. Everyone had a good opinion of him. His patients and the faculty and staff at the hospital adored him. He repeatedly offered her his assistance over the years which she quickly rejected. But now she wanted to feel something. She had other lovers over the years that were age appropriate and handsome, but they all pale in comparison to the excitement that she reached with him years ago.

The smart thing to do was to sleep with a humanoid like Mina did. Many women were doing that these days to avoid any unwanted pregnancies or STIs and men also did when their wives and girlfriends refused to sleep with them. Ami was reluctant to cross that line. What had their world come to when we depended on machines for everything even intimacy? She thought. The world had become more detached. People were glued to their television and smart devices. No one spoke to one another. Not a good morning or a hello. Cars drove themselves and stove cooked food and alerted the cook when the food was done. Humanoids ran errands, drove taxis, and were even the cashiers at the grocery stores. Even as a doctor, she had machines and holograms of the insides of humans' bodies that made her job extremely easy. Humans no longer need to think or do anything since machines did everything. Humans were slowly making themselves obsolete.

There was a rumor spreading that the government was eventually going to ban human sex since they viewed sex as a sin. Human children would be created through artificial insemination. Preselected men ejaculated in cups and preselected females were impregnated with the sperm of the men.

Ami turned her head towards Eddie and saw that he already staring at her. She could tell that he loved her. She sensed that he did the moment that she told him off in the elevator. For years, he has been following her around like a lovesick puppy between patients, operations, and trying to solve medical mysteries. He was also one of the government's top doctors now. They recruited him after the war ended. He was frequently sent to Quadrant Two to deal with the needs of the Elite. She even heard rumors that he reborned humans. She asked him about it once, but he quickly changed the topic or walked away from her.

She watched as his eyes turned into dark pools of desire that matched her own. She wondered if he was suffering from the emptiness that she felt ever since their night together five years ago. He trundled on his side supporting his weight with his elbow. His free hand gently stroked her soft cheek as she watched him with guiltless cerulean eyes filled with anxiety and longing for him. Her mouth opened and her little tongue darted aroused and awakening the savage inside of him. Ami felt the tingling sensation rise through her body as his lips touched hers with a punishing force that left her breathless. His lips were like soft pillows. She purred like a cat as he kissed, licked, and stroked her shoulders and neck with his mouth, tongue and lips. He moved on top of her. His full body weight forcing her legs apart. She bent her knees. He knees planted firmly on the thin blanket as her core pounded between her legs. Their lower halves grind against one another. His hands travelled underneath her short dress. He pushed up her skirt around her waist stroking and squeezing her tight, little butt. Ami moaned in pleasure as she closed her eyes as he kissed her. A feel of contentment rose inside of her as a blue aura surrounded her body. Eddie opened his hazy eyes drunk with desire and slightly tipsy from the wine to see this. He thought it was his imagination as it quickly disappeared. Ami felt alive again in his arms finally find the nirvana she was searching for in his arms as they made passionate, sweet love underneath the starry sky.

Ami woke up content in his bed the next morning with his arms wrapped tightly around her as he kissed her skin. She grinned like a cat as she tilted her head allowing him to kiss her lips. He joked about their morning breath then he rose out of her and cooked her breakfast. They happily got ready for the day together as he tossed her a new toothbrush and slipped her one of his old t-shirts. He enjoyed seeing her pranced around naked in his apartment but it was a chilly day. Ami had no idea that six months later, she would be living together with him and officially become his girlfriend.

Six months later, Ami found herself back in Tokyo watching from the audience as her mother presented her boyfriend one of the most prestigious awards in the medical field. She sat at a round table for twelve dressed elegantly in a blue strapless floor length gown that matched her eyes. Eddie was receiving one of the most prestigious awards in the medical field for his awarded winning medical research in cardiology that was published in big-time medical journals throughout the world. The room was filled with dozen of wealthy benefactors dressed in fancy gowns and tuxedos. Most of the audience were members of the Elite and had extraordinary wealth and positions of power. Eddie was giving his speech as the spotlight landed on her when he addressed her in his speech as his beautiful girlfriend and his mentor's daughter. Ami smiled shyly as the audience smiled and applauded her.

After the ceremony, Ami sauntered around the room attached to Eddie's arm as he mingled with the other guests and introduced her as his girlfriend and a great doctor. She wanted to hate the members of the Elite and say they were snobbish and stuck up and mean and cruel, but they were not. Yes, they had arrogance about them but they were friendly and spoke to her in their small talk to make her feel included. They soon met up with their mothers, who instantly click. Ami could not stand Edward's mother who gushed proudly at her prized son and greeted Ami with a hug and kiss as Ami faked happiness to see her. She did feel that his mother was snobbish, stuck up, mean and cruel. Her mother liked Edward and his mother very much since she now knew that he was a doctor, her former student, and his family was extremely wealthy and high ranking members of the New World Regime, which shocked Ami. She was more shocked when she found out that she was also a member of the New World Regime by birthright. Their families had been members for centuries. Her mother decided to share this news with her since she felt that she was finally old enough to know one of their families' secrets. Ami felt like her world was collapsing underneath her as their mothers changed subjects and teased about their wedding and grandchildren. Edward jokingly entertained the conversation as Ami let it flow over her. Her family was devil worshippers. She looked around the room at the bright and happy faces. They all were. She felt the desire to throw up. She unintentionally caused a scene when she ran out needing a bathroom before she vomited. Edward called out her name worried as he excused himself from their worried mothers and rushed after her.

When they returned to their hotel room, Eddie was in bliss. He received one of the highest awards in the medical field and was recognized by his peers. Her mentor, Ami's mother, was the one that presented him the award and she approved of his relationship with Ami. Ami was beautiful, smart, and amazing. They were together and everything was perfect between them. The only thing that was missing was that he wanted to marry her.

He could not wait to have children with her, but it had been six months and she still wasn't pregnant. They had to leave the ceremony early since Ami became sick. He prayed that she was pregnant. It would make tonight perfect if she was, he thought. For over six months, they had sex so many times at their apartment, public bathroom stalls, and in sex clubs. They even made love at the hospital between breaks in on call rooms, the supply closets, and empty hospital rooms. It was dangerous having sex in public places. If they were caught, they would be reborn. But Ami was turned on by the danger of getting caught. He figured it was her way of rebelling against the system. On the taxi ride to the hotel, she tipped the driver extra and had sex with her boyfriend on the back seat. The driver tinted the windows so no one could see them as he glanced at them through the rearview mirror. He panicked when dark angry eyes caught him looking through the rearview mirror as the blue haired woman straddled the dark haired man. The driver focused his attention on the road as he turned up the music to tune out the sounds of their lovemaking.

Edward practically forced her to go in the bathroom and take a pregnancy test even though she protested. She emerged from the bathroom feigning sadness causing his shoulders to drop. They now had new technology that instantly allowed you to know the moment that you are pregnant and how far along. Ami held up the pregnancy stick that read in bold letters that she was not pregnant. Maybe she was infertile, he thought. But she was so young, only twenty-seven-years-old. They have been having sex nonstop for months and he came in her so many times that he lost count. Maybe it was him. He was forty now and maybe not as virile as his younger days. He had no idea that Ami discovered that she could use her powers as a birth control. She could not get pregnant unless she wanted to.

The following day she teleported to Lita's home. She lied to Eddie that she was going window shopping. He kissed her farewell and told her that he was going to visit his family before they left. They were flying back to Chicago that afternoon. Phones, the internet, the mail were all read and bugged by the government. Privacy no longer existed. Ami appeared in her friend's home. The children were at school leaving only Zayden in the house crawling around in the playpen downstairs while a cartoon played on the television downstairs. Lita's house was quiet.

Ami ran into Andrew the other day when she stopped at Lita's Café to check on Lita and get a cup of coffee. Eddie was spending the day with his family. He asked her to join him, but she feigned sickness. She did not feel like dealing with his overbearing mother, who constantly critiqued every little thing she did. Andrew's eyes sparkled as he saw Ami walking in. He rushed over to her and Ami happily embraced him.

Ami asked, "Where's Lita?"

Andrew sighed as Ami listened to Andrew beg her to please visit Lita before she left town. She had become a ghost of her former self and never recovered completely from the war. He confessed to her about the hell he was going through and how she no longer lived anymore just wasting her days away in their bedroom looking out the window. He had not made love to her in over six months because she was afraid of getting pregnant again. She acted like she did not want him anymore. Ami assured him that it was nonsense. Of course, she loved him. She always loved him.

The house that was once full of warmth and life seemed cold and empty. The stairs creaked as Ami ascended up the stairs. She walked into the room and slowly opened the door. Lita was sitting in a rocking chair staring out the window. She was wearing a long polyester night gown and her hair was down. Her eyes were vacant and lifeless. Her face pale and skinny like she had not eaten in weeks. She looked dull and depressed.

"Lita…" Lita glanced at the door and saw Ami.

Lita was stunned to see Ami. None of them had seen one another since the war ended. "Hey Ami, what are you doing here?"

Ami smiled. "Eddie received an award last night for his medical research. We're flying back home in a few hours." Lita remembered Eddie. Ami told her and Mina that she was dating someone with the enthusiasm of someone watching paint dry. All they knew was that his name was Eddie and he was a doctor. Lita saw their picture in the paper in the society section of the newspaper. They looked good together even though he was much older than her and probably had more in common with their parents than with them. But in the photograph, she looked happy.

Ami strolled over to Lita feeling sorry for her. They were all changed by the war. Mina acted indifferent like it did not affect her even though she sobbed inconsolably in private over Artemis. None of them had any idea of what happened to Raye and Serena. They had not seen them since the war. Lita was a ghost of her former self feeling the guilt of murdering humans and seeing death all around her. As far as Ami, she was colder and detached trying not to feel anything and accept that it was their fault that the world was in its current predicament.

Ami knelt in front of Lita holding her hands that were cold. Ami said, "Lita, you have to get out of this mood that you are in. You have a husband and children to take care of. We lost the battle, but we can win the war."

Lita looked down at Ami like she had lost her mind. She jerked her hand away from Ami startling her. Lita scowled said angrily, "We lost the war, Ami. The world will be destroyed and there is nothing that we can do about it."

Ami tried to reasoned, "But we never give up. We always find a way."

Lita bit out angrily, "Serena and Raye are missing. Luna, Artemis, and Diana are dead. Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus, Sailor Saturn, and Sailor Pluto are dead. Billions of people died in less than eleven months. Mother, children, babies, and men all died. The world is populated by millions of humanoid creatures to less than one million humans left in the world who are being brutally murdered and reborn as humanoids every day. We have lost, Ami. Who gives a damn if the world is destroyed? We lost to the people that we sacrificed our lives to protect. How unjust is that? So don't give me some stupid pep talk about battles and wars. It's over Ami. Accept it. I have."

Lita stared back to the window. Ami fumed seeing how hopeless Lita had become. She stood up. She noticed the anti-depressants on the nightstand next to Lita. She grabbed the pills off the nightstand and hurled them across the room. The bottle popped opened and shattered against the wall. Lita turned to the wall then Ami and yelled, "Are you crazy?"

Ami snapped back, "No, I'm not, and you don't need them." She was referring to the anti-depressants. "Get over it, Lita. We all are going through hell. You're not the only one who lost something that day. We all did. We all miss Luna and the others, and we will not allow their deaths to be in vain. Haruka and Michelle did not leave you their son because they wanted him to die on Judgment Day. They wanted you to save him like you would save Sarah and Zayden, your children, the future. So get out of this pity party and help us find a way to save the world and get us out of the hell that we are living in."

Lita thought about her children. She had children and she forgot about them feeling sorry for herself. Ami was right. She could not stand by and let her friends' death be for nothing.

Ami cried revealing her true emotions to her dear friend, "I hate this sick and twisted misogynistic world created out of some extremist's imagination. I am probably one of the smartest resident doctors at my hospital and I am constantly being second guessed because I am a woman. You built an empire and you are not allowed to run it. Andrew has to. They can't take our right to vote away because we have no say in the government. Humans are not allowed to speak. We have to act like we don't feel the way we feel or see what we do to survive. I don't want this life, and neither do you or Sarah."

Ami placed a reassuring hand on Lita's shoulder. Lita remained silent. "We need you to come back to us Lita. The medication is making humans like zombies so don't take it." Ami looked at the wall. "I have to administer that crap every day and if I don't, I watch a patient complain and then get arrested for complaining and reborn."

Ami heard her cell phone ringing. She checked it. It was Eddie calling about their flight. Ami answered it and assured an impatient Eddie that she was on her way. She looked at Lita. "I have to go." She lifted up Lita's chin with her hand. "I need you to come back to us. We all do." Ami embraced a reluctant Lita. She let go and walked towards the door. Ami turned to her. "And please have sex with your husband. You're driving him bunkers and he's two steps away from sleeping with a humanoid. Rumor has it that sex with a humanoid is better than human sex. But I'm sure you wouldn't know about that." Ami tossed her a knowing smirk as Lita turned red.

"Who told you?"

"You just did." Lita frowned embarrassed. Ami laughed as Lita smiled for the first time in nearly a year.

Ami smiled brightly. "Our powers can be used as a form of birth control. Call upon its power to protect your body until or if you are ready to conceive again." Ami walked out closing the door behind her as she disappeared. Lita rushed out of the room searching for Ami. She was already gone. She heard the sound of her son crying downstairs. She rushed downstairs. His face red as he screamed. Hot tears came out of his eyes. She consoled him as she held him in his arms soothing his tears. She walked towards the refrigerator holding her son in her arms and grabbed his Sippy cup filled with juice. Zayden eagerly took his Sippy cup and began to suck on it. His little green eyes glared up at his mother. She smiled she looked down at her one-year-old son. He no longer needed her to hold anything for him. She began to play with her beautiful little boy. Zayden dropped the Sippy cup on the carpet smiling, giggling, and cooing loudly as his mother played with him and spun him around her arms.

Andrew arrived home that night. He tiredly dropped his backpack by the door and locked the door. The house was dark and the restaurant had a pretty good night. He walked upstairs and checked on the children. Zayden slept peacefully in his crib and Sarah and Josh were fast asleep in their rooms. The house was quiet. He walked into his bedroom. It was dark besides the moonlight shining through the balcony door windows. He smiled as she stared at his sleeping wife. He hoped tonight would be a quiet night. He enjoyed sleeping with her and would prefer not to sleep with Josh who slept wildly or on the sofa waking up with a crook in his neck. He hopped into the bathroom and took a quick shower. His body was buffer, tanner and muscular now. He spent his time working out. His goal was to get a sixth pack again since Raye teased him for being so skinny. He walked out of the shower nude since he preferred to sleep naked since he was a kid. The only time he ever slept with clothes on was when he slept with Lita back when they were just friends. Sometimes he'll fall asleep at her place watching a movie. Other times they fell asleep cuddled in each other's arms and he was too tired to go home and vice versa. He crawled in the bed and drifted off to sleep unaware that his wife was awake. He was unaware that night marked the end of his sexual drought.

Ami stood in line at the airport as if she was sleepwalking in a bad dream she could not wake up from. Eddie was relieved when she entered into the hotel room. He already had their bags packed and inspected the room to make sure they were not leaving anything. She placed her cell phone on silent mode. Her mother constantly called her wanting to spend time with her. She had no desire to speak to her. It's not every day you find out your family are devil worshippers, the evil that she risked her life to fight against. The taxi ride to the airport was silent. Eddie tried to speak to her, but she ignored him and would not respond. He feared that she found him boring now. He glanced at her staring at her vacant profile. She had been acting strange and distant since the award ceremony last night. He touched her in bed last night. She flinched like his touch repelled her. She turned to her side and told him that she did not want to be bothered.

As they stood in the line to board the flight, he sensed hesitancy in Ami. She breathed heavily as if she was in an inner turmoil. He turned around to her. Her eyes filled with hurt and pain as stared at his confused face.

"What is it?"

She shook her head. "I don't trust you. I can't go back with you." His eyes widen as he became afraid that he was losing her again. She looked around as the people passing them by. Humans mixed with humanoids. Specks of red swarmed around her. The flight attendant was a humanoid. They were everywhere and they disgusted her.

She felt a powerful energy quickly rise inside of her as started hyperventilating. People stopped and stared at her. The temperature dropped in the airport as people shivered from the coldness.

Her eyes glowed blue. Eddie looked around as they started drawing the attention of others. He glanced up and saw them on a large teleprompter. His unruffled dark eyes met her tormented blue ones. He asked quietly, "Ami, what is it?"

Ami said angrily, "You worship the devil. You're one of them."

Eddie noticed the humanoids' eyes glowing red as they sensed danger. Eddie quickly grabbed Ami hauling her close into his chest until her cheek with pressed against his chest. She could hear the rapid beat of his heart. To everyone else, it looked like a friendly embrace. He bent down. She could feel his hot breath against her ear. He whispered harshly, "Calm down, Sailor Mercury. I do not worship the devil. I don't believe. If they scream, your life is over just like your friends and you will become one of them. Calm down now." Ami's eyes widen as her eyes returned to normal. The temperature returned to normal and everyone carried on with what they were doing like nothing happened.

Ami slowly pulled away and looked up at him. He knew who she was. He knew about Serena and Raye. The way he looked at her told her that he cared about her, but could she trust him?

He held out his hand for her. She looked down at it. Her eyes looked up to his dark ones.

She asked, "Who are you?"

Eddie heard the final boarding call for their flight in the background. "Someone you can trust." He was a member of the Elite, the New World Regime. The government trusted him and liked him. He was one of their top doctors and was rumored to be a part of the reborn process. She told Lita that they had to find a way to save the world. Maybe he was her way in or he was leading her into a trap.

Eddie saw the internal battle she was having with herself wondering whether she could trust him or not. She looked like she was about to run away from him like a scared little girl. He glanced down almost surprise to find her small hand holding his hand. A wave of relief washed over him as he quickly rushed them through the line and onto the plane before she changed her mind. He finally breathed when their flight had taken off into the air and she was sitting right next to him.
