Elysian: The New Earth

Eight years later….
Eight years had passed since Judgment Day. The day caused by the hands of a grieving King Endymion. Earthlings that survived Judgment Day were transformed into Elysians. Endymion never told anyone that he met Serenity again or how he allowed Serenity and her child to jump through a portal without a fight. But after that day, Endymion did change. He became a better but sometimes harsh king. He granted all Elysians twenty-one and older immortality wielding his mighty sword and using the shining power of the golden crystal. Elysians could only be granted immortality once they reached the age of twenty-one and with the Earth King's blessing. Within the eight years, the Elysian population had doubled from ten thousand to twenty thousand. The Elysians were also light years ahead of Earthlings when it came to technology and with the unlimited power of the golden crystal, King Endymion and his people were quickly able to rebuild a modern version of Elysian.
Elysian was now a small blue planet about the size of the Earth's moon that orbit around the now ocean planet Earth. It was so closed and connected to the Earth that the Elysians could see the oceans of the water world. If an asteroid or meteor destroyed the Earth, Elysian would be destroyed also. Elysian became the new Earth and was divided into five land masses called continents or regions surrounded by water. The Elysians inhabited the largest continent Ergon and divided it into six counties called Aden, Apollo, Gaia, Ergon, Endymion, and Aphrodite Terra.
Midas City, Endymion
Ergon was divided in six counties each led by a nobility of the King's choosing. There was New Elysian City, nicknamed the Midas City, the capital city of Elysian. It was more of a political epitome center of the planet filled with politicians and businessmen working in the city or on the Capitol passing laws and governing their world. The beautiful Midas City resembled New York City with its tall sky scrapers except everything was melded with gold and crystal. At the heart of the city, there was the golden castle. There was no smog or air pollution on Elysian. The air always remained fresh and clean. Elysians used the power of the sun as their energy for farming and found a new form of reusable energy for their cars which were without wheels and automatically drove themselves. All drivers had to do was to tell the global positioning system their chosen destination, and the car automatically drove them there.
Eden City, Apollo
Several thousand miles to the east of Midas was Eden City, the water city. The beautiful, peninsular city was surrounded by the beautiful crystal blue sea, Derrick Sea named after the young Earth. Every flower one could imagine grew in the beautiful flowery city. It was surrounded by flowery gardens and open fields decorated with colorful flowers and beautiful scenery, blue skies, and cool weather year round. Eden City was also a peaceful city where people resided or travelled to for educational and research purposes mostly. There were the largest universities like Kato University that was prestigious like Harvard and Yale and several cities universities and colleges like Eden City College or Eden University surrounded the city. At the heart of the city there was tall golden building carved out of the golden crystal called Eden City Library, which was filled with every book known to mankind. Teachers constantly made their students go there to study and do research.
It was also known for its medical facilities that had become much easier since Elysians now had the power to heal. Doctors therefore used hospitals mostly as research centers to develop advanced technology like accidentally creating flying skateboards to Elysian children and teenagers delight or to the King's delight discovering new galaxies and universes beyond the Earth's solar system and creating spaceships with the ability to travel beyond the Milky Way Galaxy. This city was governed and ran by Lady Ami Yamashita and her husband Lord Edward Yamashita. They lived in large castle in the heart of the city with an eight-year-old son named Walter Apollo Yamashita as an inside joke between them. Eden City was also nicknamed Intelligence City since Ami loved research and medicine, while Edward dealt mostly with politics even though he equally enjoyed working with his wife and discovering ground breaking research and technology.
Owl Village, Gaia
Several thousand miles southwest from Eden City was Owl Village, Elysian. Owl City was a city that was surrounded by the beautiful green forests of Elysian. Elysians who were skilled as farmers and loved working the land were given land by King Endymion to grow the farmlands and make them fruitful and profitable. These farmers tended to the ground with love and care and the farmlands of Elysians grew tall and beautiful filled with every vegetable or fruit that you can imagine. It was also nicknamed wine country since Elysians' famous wine grew there. Owl Village was mostly a small country town and most people there were simple people who enjoyed the simplicity of small town life. They mingled with the locals and everyone knew one another. There was one high school and one elementary school called Owl Village High and Owl Village Elementary since the population there was less than one thousand.
Children strolled along the streets of Elysians on the sidewalks and on their flying skateboards. People hardly left Owl Village. Men worked hard in the fields through the day, while the wives stayed at home and tended to the children and households. Men wanted to find a nice, simple girl to marry and start a family with. Women dreamed of a marrying a good man and starting a family. They did not care about having careers and loved children. Those who disdained small town life usually left once they reach their eighteenth birthday and moved to Eden City or Midas City to attend college to become professional or to start lives in the metropolitan cities like Celestial City, Eden City, or Midas City. This city was governed by Lord Andrew Furuhata and his wife Lady Lita Furuhata of the House of Furuhata. They lived in a cozy two-storied country home on the outskirts of Owl City. They had a seventeen-year-old daughter going on eighteen and an eighteen –year-old son named Sarah Furuhata and Josh Tenou. They also had a ten-year-old named Zayden Furuhata and eight-year-old daughter named Elizabeth "Lizzy" Furuhata, a six-year-old named Maximillian "Max" Furuhata and now Lady Lita was heavily pregnant with their sixth child. Lita loved having children and enjoyed being pregnant. She enjoyed raising her large family with her husband. She also owned several sweet shops and cafes throughout Ergon co-owned by her husband. Many people suffering with intimacy problems traveled many miles to try Lita's treats. Andrew also was happy that his parents lived in town along with his sister who ran the local hospital. She lived there with her husband and two small children, Riley and Jessica.
Grey Mountains, Aden
In distant mountain tops of Elysian, north of Midas, was the small city of Grey Mountains where Prince Adam ruled over with his very pregnant wife Raye. They had a beautiful eight-year-old daughter named Raven, a five-year-old daughter named Kayla and a soon-to-be son. Grey Mountains was more of a retirement community and vacation resort which was famous for the healing powers of its hot spring baths and its relaxing waterfall that reminded Elysians of Niagara Falls on Earth. The Elderly lived there in retirement home because life was slow there and it was a very quiet and soothing environment. There were festivals there to celebrate the New Year and Elysians traveled throughout the world to Grey Mountains for holidays and vacations. Raye built a Shinto Temple high in the mountains and regularly prayed to the spirits. People knew the Priestess of Grey Mountains was a psychic and visited her regularly asking her to read their fortunes. She was a favorite at social gatherings that she attended with her husband and the hosts and other guests asked her to read tea leaves and their thoughts. She loved her children very much as her husband enjoyed keeping her pregnant. They made love every day and everyday was paradise in Grey Mountains. She saw her husband was restless being there since he was a man of science so she had a research center built there where her husband was also known like the Yamashita Family as a groundbreaking genius. Adam regularly researched portals and the distance of an Elysian's teleportation, a power that only Elysians of royal blood possessed. Other Elysians only were blessed with long life to live up to one thousand years but could still die from mortal wounds. Adam also regularly teleported to Eden city to work alongside Dr. Muzino and Dr. Yamashita in creating a space station and built spaceships to explore other galaxies. In a few years, Elysians will be able to travel to different galaxies. In her husband's absence in body and mind, Lady Raye ran the city.
Luckington, Ergon
Halfway across the continent from Midas City was Luckington City, ran by Lord Calvin Luckington. The rumor was that Senator Luckington only received the job because his wife was having an affair with the king. What man would be okay with another man sleeping with his wife? Some believed that the Luckingtons were swingers while others speculated that Lord Luckington was queer and had a fetish for pretty young boys. There were rumors of him frequenting gay clubs or inviting young boys over to his home. This was never proven though.
Lady Camryn Luckington did not have the best reputation, but she did not care as she proudly stood next to her husband as he governed the city and attended galas in the King's honor. She was regularly summoned to Midas City and slept in the King's private chambers when she was there. Lady Camryn Luckington was a powerful woman. She saw the snide looks that the King's daughter and son tossed at her. She informed the king that it would be best if his children attended boarding school so that they could be more competitive with other students their age and impressed the King with the great programs and facilities of Elysian boarding schools.
At the age of ten, Derrick and Rini awakened to found their belongings being packed and being shipped across the continent to live in Luckington City. Derrick attended Luckington Academy, a coed boarding school where the Elysian elite sent their children. Rini was sent to a St. Susan Boarding School for Girls, a religious learning institution for girls two hours away from Derrick's school. It was not until Derrick was older that he figured out why his father had separated them instead of allowing Rini to attend school with him.
Luckington was a community where only the wealthiest and most powerful Elysian could afford to live. There were beaches and beach resorts. It was like the Hamptons and it was known for its beautiful seas as people vacationed there during the summer and sailed on their yachts, kayaking in the lakes, and water skiing in the oceans. There was also a section nicknamed College Town since it was filled with colleges and universities. Boarding schools surrounded it also. Some were all boys and some were all girls. Each student who attended these college preparation academies had a ninety percent graduation and success rate and greatly increased their chances of getting into Universities like Kato in Eden or Juno in Owl City.
For eight years, Rini and Derrick were students there in the heavily guarded schools since many of the Elysian elite's children attended school there. Over the years, they attended school year round. Their father always had some important matter to attend to or he was vacationing with one of his lewd women. For every winter break, summer break, or holiday, their father always had some reason as to why it was not a good time for them to come home. He never cancelled on them personally. He always had one of his advisors do so on his behalf. He sent them a birthday card on their birthday with money inside every year. He never called them or came to visit them. Time flew by and soon it had become eight years since the last time Rini and Derrick spoke to or saw their father in person.
Starlight City, Aphrodite Terra
Several hundred miles west of Eden City and south of Midas, the largest city of Elysian was Starlight City. It received its name because most people went there to become movie and music stars. Holograms of pop stars lit up the streets and neon city lights of Starlight City. It was the city that never sleeps and there was always something to do. The streets stayed busy and packed. Only the wealthiest Elysians resided there in their mansions. There were restaurants, movie studios, recording labels, night clubs, dance clubs, and exotic clubs. It was nicknamed Sin City for its' wild nights and was the only city were prostitution, or as the politically correct term, pleasure pleasers, was legalized and many men and sometimes women traveled there to gamble and fornicate leaving their significant others at home. Sex was not demonized in Elysian. It was considered a natural part of human existence such as eating and breathing. Sexuality was embrace even though it was still strongly preferred for the youth to wait until they were married to engage in sexual intercourse.
But if they did, the youth had access to free birth control accessible in schools, hospitals, and health clinics. Sex education was taught complete and accurately in high school courses and parents answered their children's curious questions honestly even though it did scare them. The Elysian child practiced sex safe and carried a motto of "safe sex or no sex." In the rare one percent chance that a teenaged girl did become pregnant, she was not ridiculed. They welcomed her birth and congratulated her on creating new life. There were many programs put in place to allow this young woman to raise her child and continue on with her education. But most of the time, her family helped her raised the child. There was no sexism in Elysians and females and males were considered equal to one another. It was forbidden to demonize a woman for being as equally sexually liberated as a man. This rule was embraced by Lady Mina.
Starlight City was the city that most Elysians came to if they wanted to be a star. You had to work equally hard there, but once you made it, you were a star and everyone on the planet knew your name and face. Starlight City was also the fashion epitome of Elysian, where the latest fashion trends were created and many fashion shows were held. It was also the business center of the world and many businesses were located there. Cain and his fiancée of one year Mina Aino governed the city. They lived in luxurious house in the upscale part of town with their three-year-old son Denim. He was the splitting image of her father with dark hair and piercing deep blue eyes. He also had a pensive and serious expression on his face. He hardly smiled like his father and when he did, it was beautiful.
Mina was reluctant to tell Cain that she was carrying his child since they were seeing other people at the time she found out that she was pregnant. They were good friends throughout the years and constantly stayed in touch with one another, especially when Cain arrived in Starlight City on business. He would call her up and offered to take her out to lunch. They hooked up one night after getting extremely wasted at a party for one of Lita's children.
Cain learnt over the years that drunken Mina was honest Mina. He watched her across the crowded room filled with the cheerful and smiling faces of their friends and family as he drunk his beer. She looked like she was trying to mask her depression through a quickly fading happy facade and on the verge of tears watching Lita's happiness with Andrew and their growing family. She snuck out of the house when she thought no one was looking. Cain wondered what the hell Mina Aino had to be depressed about. Her life was perfect. At age thirty-two, she was rich and wealthy beyond means from her successful acting career. There was not a city in Ergon without a poster of her still gorgeous face hanging on billboards, buses and bus stop benches. Everyone knew who she was and she sold out plays and movie theaters for her performances. She dated a string of wealthy Elysians and lived in a lovely home in Starlight City.
Cain followed her into a barn. The barn slammed shut. She was startled as she instantly turned around as her hair flipped with her. She relaxed when she saw that it was only Cain. When he asked her what was wrong, she confessed to him how lonely she felt. She did not want to be at the party, but only came because her godchild Zayden personally called and begged her to please come. She told Cain that she was tired of her lifestyle. She missed Jason, Ariel, and her mother. She was tired of being alone and her fake lifestyle. She wanted a family. She wanted a child. He listened as she told him how the doctors informed her that her body suffered tremendous stress after she had her miscarriage. She became pregnant again at age thirty by some guy she was dating at the time. She lost the baby after learning her boyfriend committed suicide leaving no note as to why. The thing that really freaked her out was that he hung himself reminding her of her nightmare with her father and then Ariel. Some speculated that it was because he lost his family during Judgment Day and was still depressed about it. She told Cain that she was on the verge of trying in vitro fertilization.
While everyone else was singing Happy Birthday to Zayden inside the house, Mina was getting banged by Cain on top of the hood of Andrew's old car inside of the Furuhata family's barn. With her eyes tightly shut, she did not notice his golden eyes as he pounded into her core or the golden energy around them as he released himself inside of her womb impregnating her with his heir. It was so random and Mina was amazed at how much control Cain had even when he was drunk. He hardly ever drank, except for social occasions. Afterwards, they fixed their clothes then returned to the party like nothing ever happened.
He randomly showed up on her doorstep one day looking dashingly handsome in a light gray business suit and tie. He asked her to marry him like it was a business proposition instead of a marriage. She rejected him telling him that she would not allow him to marry her just because she was pregnant. He told her angrily that it is tradition. She told him to go to hell and slammed the door shut in his face. He held her hand at the hospital the day when the doctor delivered their son into the world at Starlight City Hospital. An exhausted Mina smiled warmly as she watched Cain hold their son for the first time. He was a completely different person as he smiled and made babyish noises with their son. She could have sworn she saw his eyes become misty as he played with their son. When she asked him about it, he told her she was being ridiculous and he never cried.
Cain regularly travelled from Midas City to Starlight City on the other side the continent to visit his son while Mina continued her acting career. When the former Lord of Starlight City died, King Endymion sent his brother Cain to take over as lord since Lady Mina had no desire to run the region. Cain moved there and spent more time with his son since he was no longer, Endymion's chief advisor or his direct link to the Elysian government. Running a region instead of an entire kingdom was a piece of cake to Cain.
He spent his time dating other women, but he never slept with them. Many women assumed that he was gay because they never saw him with another woman, and he had no desire to implant his seed and multiply like many Elysian men, even his brother Endymion asked him if he was queer. He told his big brother, "Just because I act like a rational man and not a whore, does not mean that I am gay or not a lover of women." Endymion only laughed at his brother. Endymion knew his little brother was referring to him with that comment since the king loved having a beautiful woman to keep his bed warm at night.
Mina, on the other hand, hardly dated. She started to refer to him as Alex or Alexander since it was his real name. He preferred Cain, and Mina still called him Alex to spite him. Cain became enraged with jealousy when Mina called him one day while he was in his office at town hall to inform him that she had fallen madly in love with a dark handsome man. He became very upset, outraged, and wanted to beat the crap out of this stranger who had stolen his precious Mina away from him. He then found himself laughing once she started describing the man and he realized that she was talking about their son. He hung up on a laughing Mina. Once her beautiful image disappeared from in front of his face, his laughter ceased and his face became serious once more. He sat back in his chair with a pensive look on his face. He had fallen in love with Mina.
It occurred to him that for twelve years, he was the acting king of Elysian and a prince of the Earth. He was rich and powerful and ran an entire kingdom. He was not some weakling that allowed a woman to walk all over him. His brother was the king and he told the king where to get off. Mina Aino had another thing coming if she thought she could dictate their relationship. Mina came home one night holding Denim in her arms to find that her things were being moved out of her house. She asked the movers outraged about who was giving this order and the movers informed her to take it up with Prince Alexander. Mina sensed Cain's presence and teleported there with their son. She was surprised to see that she appeared in a beautiful two storied home decorated like she always imagined from the floors, to the sofas, the paintings on the wall, the ceiling fixtures, and even the refrigerator. She walked up the stairs of the four bedroom three bath home and every room was decorated the way she imagined it to be.
Cain appeared behind her as his son cooed happily when he saw his father. He nearly jumped out of Mina's hands into a happy Cain's arms. Cain laughed and lifted his laughing son in the air once Mina handed their child to him. She turned to him as she stood outside in the backyard designed exactly how she imagined it to be. There was even the playground in the corner that she wanted to buy Denim once he became older.
She said outraged, "You read my thoughts. I told you I hate when you do that."
Cain bit back, "I did not read your thoughts. You described to me in detail your dream home years ago. I only made it into a reality."
Mina placed her hands on her hips that had grown wider after giving birth to Denim. She said with livid eyes. "I am still angry at you."
Cain played with his son and said, "You're not."
"How are you going to tell me how I feel?"
"Because I just read your thoughts. You love me as much I love you." Mina was flabbergasted.
She retorted in disbelief, "You delusional. You think because you are royalty that I am supposed to just bow down and married you. You have another thing coming."
Cain held Denim in his arms. "Yes, I want marriage, but I'll compromise just to have you and Denim in my life. We don't have to sleep together, but I want you in this dream home with me and I want you to give us a shot." Mina stared at him. "Maybe, we'll work out. Maybe we won't. But we should at least give it a shot for Denim's sake. He deserves to have both of his parents in a two parent home." Mina exhaled. Cain was right. Denim did deserve that. Cain was a good man and a good father and a good brother and a good uncle and a good politician. He was good at everything. His nieces and nephew adored him.
Mina sighed and nodded in agreement. Cain grinned. He sealed their agreement with a kiss. They lived together as mommy and daddy to Denim, who seemed happier to have both of them around. Mina sighed when she learnt that Cain was also a great cook. Even at night time, when Denim woke up crying from a bad dream, Cain would always rush over and pick up a crying baby Denim out of his crib. He would stand up or sit down in the rocking chair next to Denim's crib and sing and rock their son in his arms until Denim fell back asleep. Mina's heart warmed as she rested her head against the doorway as she listened as Cain sung in a beautiful voice Billy Joel's "Lullaby" to their son as the child slowly fell back to asleep listening to his father's soothing voice. Cain gently placed sleeping Denim back into his crib.
Mina asked after Cain left out of the room softly closing the door behind him, "When did you get so good with kids?"
Cain said, "I had to raise my brother and sister and I babysat my nieces a lot."
The second time they made love was another random act. It was a normal night as Mina returned home from filming a movie that kept her away from home for two weeks. Cain watched their son. He sometimes took him into the office with him and even held him in his arms as he during meetings with his employees. His employees enjoyed this because Cain edited himself even when he was furious at them so his son will not hear any bad words. If they screwed up, Cain would forget he was supposed to fire him. His employees came back the next day impressing them with their great job performances. Other times, he worked from home while Denim played around in his office that he had baby proof. No one would dare questioned Cain bringing his son to work.
Cain and Mina talked about Mina's day as Cain cooked dinner. Her legs ached as she sat exhausted on the wooden stools of their kitchen that reminded her of the homey feel of a cabin. He was preparing some type of pasta dish. He brought the wooden spoon to her lips to taste. She opened her mouth and moaned in pleasure as she masticated the delicious pasta inside her mouth. The Elysians herbs and spices were amazing and gave their food a unique taste. Cain smiled before walking to the stove and finished cooking the meal. Denim was spending the weekend at Lita's home since she constantly called Cain for her cute, little nephew.
Afterwards they watched the news where the crime rate in Elysian was extremely down and they saw King Endymion and his new girlfriend standing at the opening ceremony for a new research center in New Elysian City. Her name was irrelevant because the king changed women as fast as the seasons changed from spring to summer. Mina lied sideways on the sofa with her legs resting on Cain's lap as he massaged her legs and feet. Mina exhausted leaned over and kissed him on the cheek telling him she was off to bed. He bid her goodnight as she walked upstairs. They slept in different bedrooms on opposite sides of Denim's room. It was the first time since they cohabited five months ago to not have Denim home. Soon, Cain turned off the television and fell asleep on the sofa.
He was half asleep and everything was hazy. He woke up to the moaning and sucking sounds of Mina on her knees sucking him off. He groaned in pleasure as he instantly became aroused. When she saw he was awake, she straddled him gradually lowering herself on him until he filled her to the hilt. Everything was silent, still and dark as Mina rode him through the night. Her perfect breasts bigger bounced up and down in front of him. His hands tightly gripping her hips until the only sounds heard was his grunts and her moans and the sound of skin slapping against one another as he skillfully flipped her over underneath him and pounded into her. He took her to the dining room table and bent her over moving in and out of her slick and wet core already dripping with a mixture of their juices. He then carried a weak Mina up to their bedroom and fucked her to until the sun rose. It was sunrise before they fell asleep with Mina spread eagle over his body.
After that strange night, they became an item, even though she still did not want to marry him. It was Denim, who told her that he wanted them to get married on his third birthday. She asked him what he wished for after he blew out his candles on top of his red fire truck designed cake. He told her in front of all their friends and family and his father that he wished for his parents to marry. Everyone was shocked. She thought Cain had put him up to it and Cain quickly informed her that he had nothing to do with it. After the party, Cain and Mina got into a big fight where Cain argued that Denim was correct and it was stupid that they were shacking up when they did everything that married couples do. He left their home that day and did not return for three days. Mina found herself missing him. She was warned never to fall in love with a man of Elysian royal blood by Raye and Ami.
Ami found out that Eddie was Endymion's first cousin since Endymion's mother's maiden name was Katherine Yamashita of the Yamashita family. When Ami discovered that Edward was not a threat to her, she allowed their relationship to become more serious. But she kept it a secret from her friends about their family ties to the New World Regime and that Edward worked in the reborn process in North America. She was three days pregnant when Judgment Day happened. She was surprised when Raye told her three months later. Somewhere, along the way, he broke through her walls and found a way inside of her heart that no magic could stop.
Raye and Ami informed her that sleeping with a member of the royal family was like taking crack. Once you were on it, it was extremely addicted and you will desire no other man. Elysian men imprinted themselves on you so deeply that you will become a slave to their desires. Mina thought her friends were nuts until she found herself aching for Cain and the best part of the day was bedtime when she cuddled in his arms then he abruptly flipped her over and made love to her. She desired no other man. It dawn on her that ever since she found out she was pregnant with his child, she never desired or had been intimate in any way with another man. Her friend also informed her that royal Elysian men are very fertile, and they pick their mates. They cannot conceive a child unless they want to. As she watched Cain sleep peacefully next to her, it gave her great pleasure to know that out of all the women who wanted him, he picked her as the carrier of his seed. Now, three years later, they were finally getting married and the wedding invitations had been sent out.
Luckington, Ergon
In the privacy of his dorm room, an eighteen-year-old Derrick Shields lied naked in his bed. He was resting on his back with his arm flexed behind his head and his bed spread covering his lower half. A beautiful blonde lied naked and asleep next to him with her back turned away from him and she rested on her side facing the white wall. Her short white dress and underwear lied in a neat pile on the floor. Derrick looked at the white ceiling as the sun shone brightly through the small window and cramped dorm room he shared with his roommate Justin, who he barely saw since they did not click and ran in different social circles. Derrick Shields was the splitting image of his father at eighteen with dark locks, sexy blue eyes, and ripped, muscular, and tan physique from spending too many weekends out in the sun with his friends. He attracted the looks and sighs of many females and knew how to charm his way out of trouble. He was extremely popular amongst his classmates and was always invited to parties and social gatherings. He was dating the most popular girl in the class named Isis with long dark hair and natural golden eyes. She looked like an Egyptian queen and her beauty made everyone look pale in comparison. The blonde in his bed was her best friend since childhood, who always had a thirsty look in her eyes for him. He walked into the boys' locker room yesterday to use the bathroom during physical education class. He was thunderstruck to find his girlfriend getting banged by his best friend Rome on a bench in one of the locker rooms making him the laughingstock of the school. In retaliation, he went out searching for his girlfriend's best friend at a party downstairs in the lobby of the boys' dorm he resided in. He intentionally made out with the girl in front of everyone at the party and took her back to his room where he thoroughly bedded her.
He thought it would give him a sense of pleasure getting back at his now ex-girlfriend, but he felt empty inside. His eyes were cold and lifeless. He received no pleasure for making love to a woman. He was popular, handsome, rich, and the son of a king, but he was completely unhappy. Today was his eighteenth birthday and he received another card for another year from his father that was not even in his father's handwriting. It was written by his manservant Henry. He noticed it when Henry once came to visit him on his father's behalf. Henry wrote out a personal check for Derrick. Derrick noticed that Henry's handwriting matched the handwritings on all of their father's birthday cards since they were ten. Derrick saw the blonde stirring. He did not feel like talking. He snapped his finger and the girl and her clothes vanished and reappeared in her dorm room. The girl was shocked as she looked around confused.
The door unlocked and someone walked in. Derrick could smell her scent a mile away. Rini strolled over him dressed in their school uniforms with was a black blazer with the school name embedded on the right breast, a white dress shirt, black tie and a knee length navy and white checkered mori, sailor skirt with white socks and black dress shoes. The only difference is that the boys wore dark slacks. Rini was quite beautiful at the age of eighteen. Her long cone shaped style pigtails were gone. Her hair hung freely to the middle of her back. Her chest was well developed, her waist was tiny, and her hips wide, and legs long and slender. She was also very meek and shy around anyone except her brother. She was constantly teased and people constantly made fun of her and referred to her mother as the devil's whore. Ever since Katie left, Rini changed. She no longer had that spunk that she once had and kept a silent tongue. She did not want to come to boarding school and tried to beg her father to allow her to stay with him in Midas, but he was out horseback riding with Lady Luckington the day they were shipped off to Luckington. Her father was emotional wreck after Katie disappeared. He lashed out at them and whipped them as they cried in their rooms and punished them. He would eat breakfast with them sometimes and never spoke to them. Rini simply said, "Father" once before Endymion lashed out sharply at her telling her to never to speak unless spoken too.
He spent his free time with Lady Luckington. Rini once tried to sneak in her father's room to talk to him. His chambers were locked. She teleported into his room and saw her father making love to Lady Luckington. She did not understand what she was seeing and it frightened her. She heard the strange animalistic sounds before outside of his bedroom when he was with her mother, Karen, and his other women. Every woman who left her father's room always had a satisfied look on her face. Rini listened to their moans and sounds turning her head and disappearing. Lady Luckington was there all the time and Rini hated her. She did not care if Lady Luckington knew or not. Now, she wished she did.
Rini saw Lady Luckington strutting like she as on catwalk towards her father's chambers. Lady Luckington saw Rini passing her by. She greeted her happily and Rini called her a whore. Lady Luckington harshly slapped the small child on the cheek and said crossly, "If anyone's the whore, it's your mother." Rini's eyes widen never hearing anyone speak ill about her mother before.
King Endymion awoke to the sound of the father's angry voice yelling at them. They came out of their rooms. He was in a red robe tied tightly around his narrow waist. Rini fumed. She could still smell that woman on him. He saw the look of rage in her eyes. He took off his belt and Derrick watched his father took his sister over knee. He pulled down her pajama pants and spanked her until her butt was red. Rini bit her bottom lip trying not to cry as her eyes started with tears. He took her off his knee and Rini pulled up her pants and step back towards her brother.
He turned to his daughter with intolerable eyes. He still blamed her for letting Katie leave. In a cold voice, he asked her, "Do you know why I spank you?"
Rini remained silent. He hated her stubbornness. "You were in my bedroom last night. Why were you in there? You know better than to come in when the door is locked."
Rini yelled, "Maybe because I wanted to see my father for once! You are always busy with one of your whores!"
Endymion lashed out, "If anyone is the whore, it is your mother." He was enraged and not thinking as the girl's insolence reminded him more and more of Serenity. She looked so much like her mother. She saw the malicious look in her father's eyes. "I am taking your teleportation power."
"Daddy no!"
"Every time you disobey me. I will take away your powers."
Rini cried begging him not to take her power. His eyes turned golden and she screamed as she felt another part of her being taken away. Derrick stepped towards Rini.
King Endymion yelled at him, "Stay back, Derrick or I will strip you of your powers too." Derrick stared at Rini. She sniffled, shaking her head at him. Derrick reluctantly stepped back. Endymion became angry with how close they were. Derrick looked at his sister innocently, but Endymion's demented mind saw something else, something lustful and taboo. Derrick looked at him father as if his father had gone mad. Each year since his mother died, his father's sanity slowly unraveled. His women and his alcohol were his only comfort. When Katie left, his last strand of sanity slipped away. He nearly destroyed humanity with his grief. He despised his son because he represented the moment that his happiness with Serenity ended. He disdained Rini because she looked so much like her mother that he now despised for abandoning her family and becoming a whore like Rick warned him that she would become. Rini was just like her mother and too smart on the tongue.
When Rini and Derrick arrived in Luckington, they were immediately separated. Derrick and Rini hugged each other tightly and cried kicking and screaming when they were ripped apart from one another and sent to different schools. Derrick was horrified as the students ridiculed his sister and called her a whore, the devil's whore, and his wife. He quickly placed his fellow classmates in check and threatened to fight anyone who said something ill about his sister. They immediately backed off thinking that he was just as crazy as his father.
Rini learnt in the cruelest way possible that her mother was still alive and gave birth to the Anti-Messiah. They referred to her as dirty and wicked like her mother. They teased her and called her names like slut and whore. Her teachers corrected them, but she could see that her teachers also looked at her with disgust. One day when Rini was fourteen, she was walking into the bathroom to shower since they used communal bathrooms for physical education class. She was surprised that no one was there. It was usually packed with girls around that time.
She stood naked under the water sprays of the hot shower shampooing her long knee length strawberry blonde hair. She soon turned off the shower, grabbed a large white towel, and wrapping it around her body. She had stepped out of the locker section to be surrounded by a group of girls from her class fully dressed with wicked and angry looks on their faces. Rini slowly stepped away. They surrounded her pushing her roughly and then someone ripped off her towel as Rini quickly covered her private areas with her hands. Someone tripped her and she fell to the ground flat on her face chipping a tooth. Rini curled into a ball protecting her stomach and face as they punched, kicked, and spat on her. They pulled at her hair as Rini screamed. The bottom of someone's large shoe stepped on her head knocking her unconscious on the bathroom floor. The girls then took a pair of scissors and laughed as they snipped off her long locks. Her body was black and blue. Her skull bashed in and face swollen. Her nose was broken and her three of her ribs were cracked.
She woke up hours later. She cried when she looked in the mirror and saw that long luscious locks were cut off leaving her with short uneven hair that barely reached her ears. She looked like an ostrich with her hair so short. She spent days alone in her dorm room as her body physically healed itself. She was psychically healed but was an emotional wreck. She could not take it anymore. The worst thing that she heard was that her mother came to Elysian on Judgment Day and did not even think to come to see her. Hundreds of people saw her mother speak to her father and she did not even think about her. Her father didn't give a damn about her. Her mother didn't give a damn. She wanted to blame the devil for making her mother evil, but it was her choice. Maybe her mother was brainwashed? She found out that was a lie. Her mother knew exactly who she was and chose to abandon them. Just like she lied about being the nanny Alex all those years ago. She hated her mother as much as she hated her father. She wished Katie was there. It's been eight years since she saw her sister, and it pained her that she will probably never see her again. A part of her wished she went with Katie that day. She sighed as she walked to class and was once again the laughingstock of the school as everyone called her bird head.
She was flunking her classes. She dyed her hair jet black and used a razor to shave the sides of her head. She painted her fingernails black and wore dark makeup giving her a gothic look. She started listening to emo music. She became silent and isolated herself from everyone spending hours locked up in her room. She became numb inside and felt empty. She started cutting her skin to feel something. She only felt alive when the blade cut her skin and warm blood trickled out. Her cuts always healed days later, but just in case, she always cut herself where no one could notice. She only spoke to Derrick, who she worried was turning into their father .She never told him how miserable she was. When she spoke to him through the years, she morphed into the old Rini that he knew and loved. She did not want to get him into trouble and feared that her father would take him away from her like he took away her powers. He was the only one that still loved her. On her sixteenth birthday, she decided to end her life.
The first time she ever considered suicide was when she was ten-years-old when she first came to Luckington. She read that with suicide, you become a statistic and it was a selfish thing to do leaving loved ones with survivor's guilt, but life goes on and they moved on. She did not fit in. She had no friends and guys were not interested in her. Her parents did not give a damn. Her mother abandoned her eight years ago for another child. Her father was emotionally unavailable and only used them for presentational purposes. Katie was his favorite anyway. She missed her little sister and regretted not leaving with her that day. She wished her father would lose control and kill her like he did to the thousands of Earthlings he murdered. The world will continue without her. Their lives will go on without her.
Rini found rope near the beach. She used the rope to make a noose tying it to the ceiling of her dorm room. She stepped on her a step stool and tugged at the rope to make sure it was strong. She slowly slipped her head into the noose that fit perfectly around her neck. She kicked away the step stool as the rope tightened around her throat as she gasped for breath.
Derrick sat at his desk as his monotone teacher gave a boring lecture on Elysian history as they watched in the dark classroom holograms of actors reenacting ancient Elysian battles and wars. He sensed that Rini was dying. He vanished in front of everyone causing a large gasp among his classmates.
He reappeared in Rini's room at her school. A golden light blasted from his hand slashing the rope. Rini collapsed sideways on the floor. He held her in his arms and was horrified at what he saw. Her beautiful hair was cut off into a horrible looking pixie cut. Her eyes were lifeless. She was skin and bones. Her cheeks swollen in and her eyes were surrounded with dark circles like she was not sleeping. He could see the cuts on her wrists. She looked depressed. He held her tightly in his arms and said, "I love you, Rini. I love you. We're all we have left. You should have told me."
Rini said weakly as she rested her head on his chest, "I didn't want you to get into trouble. I didn't want to you to lose your powers."
It was against the law for them to use their powers. There were tracking devices implanted into each Elysian, letting the government know exactly where they were and newborn babies were implanted with tracking devices before they left the hospital. They informed them that this was the government way of keeping track of the Elysians. Any Elysian caught using their powers without permission were arrested and taken into custody by the government. If they were found guilty of using their powers without permission, they were stripped of their powers. This law was created by their father so that the mortal Elysians would not feel intimidated by the royal Elysians with powers.
Derrick kissed her hair, "I care more about you than my powers. You've been my best friend since we were eight."
Rini said weakly, "I thought Luke was your best friend since girls had cooties." He laughed.
Derrick said healing her body, "Don't scare me anymore like this."
Rini said depressed, "My parents don't love me anymore. Katie is gone. And everyone hates me. They tell me that I am going to be a whore like her. They beat me up, spat on me, and cut my hair. Everyone looks at me like I am nothing. I am nothing! Nobody wants me."
Derrick said, "That isn't true."
Rini nodded. "It is." She fell asleep. He scooped his sister up into his arms and disappeared. He reappeared in his room and laid her in his bed tucking her in. He gently kissed her cheek. He called his Uncle Cain and asked if he could pull some strings and allow Rini to be transferred to his school. He explained to him what was happening to her. Cain asked worried if he spoke to his father. Derrick scoffed, "We both know that my father doesn't give a damn about my sister and me." Cain did not respond but within a week, Rini was transferred to Derrick's school. The day before Rini arrived, Derrick informed the student body that his sister was coming and if anyone gave her grief, they will have to answer to him. Rini arrived the next day and everyone was friendly to her. She slowly started to return to her normal self again.
"Happy Birthday, little brother." Derrick turned his head to his sister as he slipped on a pair of pants underneath the covers.
Derrick rolled his eyes. "You're only twenty-three days older than me." Rini tossed him a cheesy grin.
Rini lied down on his roommate bed with her legs crossed at the ankles and her hands resting on top of one another on her stomach. She sniffed the potent funk of his covers like he hadn't washed his spread since adolescence. It was smelt horrible and made Rini queasy.
Rini said outraged sitting up. "Men are horrible and smelly creatures. What's that smell?"
Derrick eyed the lotion on Justin's dresser. Rini instantly turned red and embarrassed as she tossed one of Justin's smelly pillows at her brother, who laughed at her as he caught it. He tossed it back at her. She was outraged when she turned her head and scrunched her nose as the foul smelling pillow. She quickly tossed it away from her on the bed like it was a slimy creature.
Her brother was sitting on the edge of his bed. He picked up his white wrinkled dress shirt placed it on.
She was envious of her brother. He was smart, handsome, popular, and was going to be king one day when their father passed. When they were still children, the golden crystal already responded to him. She tried to touch it, and it did not respond to her only Derrick. She confessed to her Uncle Cain one night what she did and he informed her like all Lunarian rulers are women, all Elysian rulers are males. Rini frowned at that answer.
She said out loud as she watched brother get ready for school, "I think it's so unfair that all the rulers of the Earth are men."
"I think it's unfair that all the rulers of the Moon are women." Rini frowned at her brother as he fixed his suit and tie looking at his reflection in the floor mirror.
The door opened and Derrick saw through the mirror that it was only his roommate Justin dressed in his school uniform. He had a stack of letters in one hand and his backpack in the other. Justin gave Rini the once over as he admired the beautiful creature on his bed. His face turned red as he always imagined her there in a more intimate way. Derrick would kill him if he knew all the inappropriate ways he thought of the princess.
All the boys desired her and talked about all the things they wanted to do to her wondering if she was wild as her mother turned out to be. She was a genius and her only rival in school as far as her grades was her brother Derrick. They hung out together all the time, and sometimes acted more like best friends than brother and sister. Sometimes they slept in the same bed and watched movies together. Some people thought their relationship was incestuous and that they were actually lovers because they were so close. Rumors circulated that was why the King separated his children fearing that they would do something taboo, when the king himself was sleeping with his own cousin, a distant relative on his father's side.
People were disgusted by the royals Elysians. They envied that the blood line of Endymion gave them powers like the ability to teleport, fly, manipulate the four elements, and to read thoughts. Yet, they hated that they mixed and mingled so much that each of the two hundred royal members on Elysians were related to each other somehow. He learnt in his Elysian civics class that Prince Alexander passed a law preventing any more procreation within the royal family before he left power. The royals now procreated with the human Elysians. Some Elysian women became royal groupies hoping for a chance to bed a member of the royal family and to be chosen to bear their heir like Prince Alexander had chosen the famous actress, Mina Aino as the mother of his offspring. It was the one of the reasons that Derrick had so many girls after him. It was widely known since Derrick was ten-years-old that he was going to become the next King of the Earth.
Derrick read Justin's thoughts. It didn't bother him what he said about Rini. Rini could defend herself. The only part that bothered him was the part about people thinking he was inappropriate with sister. He remembered the look in his father's eyes the last time he saw them. People sicken him. He never thought of his sister in a deviant manner. They were only friends, who happened to be of the opposite sex and people thought of their closeness as more than it was. Was nothing sacred anymore? "What's up, Justin?"
Justin became flustered. He quickly handed Derrick the stack of envelopes. He said, "This was in the mailbox for you." Derrick searched through the letters and handed them off to his sister like she was his personal secretary as she opened the letters and scanned the contents. He smiled. The letters were from his family. Ami and her family. Evelyn and her family in Starlight City. Lita and her family. They were all family now except Lita and her family. Ami was his cousin now by her marriage to his cousin Edward. Raye was his aunt now since was married to his Uncle Adam, and Mina has a son with his Uncle Cain. He went from having only his mother and Peter to having two sisters, aunts, uncles and close to two hundred relatives.
His smiled grew bigger and his eyes lit up when he saw another one from Sarah. They had been keeping in touch with one another over a year ever since he sent her a birthday card for her seventeenth birthday. She came across his mind one day while he was in the library writing a research paper for his biology class. He realized that her birthday was coming up so he went to the store and brought her a card. She wrote back to him thanking him and they started keeping in touch. He had not physically seen her or Josh in eight years. His teacher sent word to his father about his disappearing act in class. They could not get in touch with the king personally, but Lord Davenport, one of his father's advisors, called and scolded him on using his powers like that. He informed his uncle that he remembered that the next time his sister tries to kill herself and ended the call. His father never called, not even concerned in the slightest that his daughter tried to commit suicide.
He kept Sarah's letter in his hand to open later. He did not tell Rini that he still kept in touch with Sarah. Sarah was Rini's childhood best friend, and she made him promised that he would never date one of her friends since they were the same age and all her friends had crushes on her brother. He agreed and kept his correspondence with Sarah secret from Rini. He did not know why. He feared that Rini would tell him that he was stupid and that Sarah was too good for him. He knew she had a boyfriend and a new life, but keeping in touch with her made him happy. He tossed the letter on his bed.
Rini said collecting the money from the cards, "This is quite impressive, bro. You received five hundred bucks for your birthday. If you include the money dad sent, that's seven hundred bucks for your birthday."
He flipped through the rest of the letters and saw one from his Uncle Adam and Aunt Raye. He saw another one from his three-year-old cousin Denim. He opened it and saw it was a dinosaur shaped card of a cartoon version of T-Rex and it read inside, "I wuv you, cousin. Rappy Wurthday!" He could not write well yet so a tiny green hand print was on the card and a small picture of Denim smiling happy in a blue long sleeved shirt and red jumper. Derrick smiled. He had to be three now. He looked at the last letter that was invitation sized. He slowly opened it and looked surprised then laughed in disbelief.
Derrick said tickled, "I'll be damned." They finally set a date.
"What?" Rini asked curiously.
"The world is coming to an end." He showed her the golden invitation in fancy handwriting.
"Aunt Mina and Uncle Cain are getting married, and we have been invited to attend the wedding."
Rini said depressed, "Which will be in Midas at the castle I presume."
"Mmm-hmm. We're going back home." Derrick and Rini remained silent.
