The Key

Grey Mountains, Aden
Raye mediated in front of the blazing fire of the temple praying to the spirits for guidance. She remembered everything that she saw the night she made love to her husband. Her daughters dressed as miko prayed an ancient prayer at her sides. Adam returned home to an empty house after a week of being King Derrick's bitch. His nephew was pain in his ass, even though Cain and Evelyn adored him.
Adam raced upstairs calling out his wife and daughter's names. He checked every room in the house. They were nowhere to be found. He called Raye's cell phone and was surprised when he heard it ringing on the dresser in their bedroom. He panicked. He then looked around and noticed that his daughters' clothes were gone and their favorite toys were gone. With a bowed head, he strolled back into his bedroom and sat on the soft bed. He glanced down and noticed Raye's wedding band on the nightstand on top of a postcard. He flipped it over and saw Raye's handwriting. It read:
I know who you are. I know what Derrick is. I know about the key.
Adam's eyes enlarged as the postcard slipped through his fingers. He collapsed to the floor and screamed out her name so loud that everyone in Grey Mountains heard him including Raye. She jerked forwards wincing in pain as she touched her stomach. The baby was kicking her violently inside her belly. She curled over as the pain continued. Raven stopped chanting and cried out worried, "Mother, are you okay?" Kayla continued chanting.
Raye smiled tightly masking the pain "Yes sweetie. I'm fine. Keep praying." Raven was worried about her mother but she did as her mother asked anyway. Raye caressed her belly. She thought looking down at her belly, 'Please sweetheart. I know you are ready to come out, but let mother do this one last thing first. Okay?' The pain stopped. Raye smiled weakly as she continued to pray.
Owl Village, Gaia
Andrew lied sideways in bed next to an unresponsive Lita. She gazed blankly ahead at nothing in particular. A week had passed since she lost the baby and her mind. Josh and Zach helped him out tremendously by watching the children in his absence. They helped him get the children ready for school and walked them to and from school. Right now, Josh and Zach were running the restaurant while Andrew took a break from the restaurant and politics of the small town to look after his wife today. The kids were at school.
It was not easy taking care of Lita. The hospital advised him to put her in a respite home in Grey Mountains for her to receive twenty-four seven care, but he refused citing his vow to love her through sickness and in health. Someone had to take her bathroom. There was a few times when she urinated on herself and Zach or Josh would have to change and wash the sheets and clean her. They ended up going to the store and buying her adult diapers. They had to feed her only soft food because she would not swallow solid food.
Andrew was advised by the doctors to talk to her like he normally would if she could speak back to him. It was possible that she could hear what people were saying even if she could not respond back. So he talked to her normally even though she never responded to him. Josh brushed her hair and conversed with her about school and the town gossip, but she never responded to him. Josh cooked and cleaned the house while Zach and the children help. Zayden slept with her at night when his dad was not home even though she smelled sometimes. Lizzy and Max read her bedtime stories like she used to read to them at night time. Andrew watched as she stared blankly at the window in her rocking chair. What he was going through now with her reminded him of how she was ten years ago after the Human vs. Humanoid War. It was Ami's visit that snapped her out of it. He sighed maybe it was her friends that could wake her up. They hardly saw each other anymore.
Mina married Cain the following day after there was a bounty placed on Endymion and Serenity's heads and Derrick became the new king. She acted indifferent to it. She took it the hardest when Serenity turned evil and abandoned them. It felt like everything they fought for was a lie. Neptune, Uranus, Pluto, Saturn, Artemis, Luna, Diana, and billions of people of Earth died for nothing. Serena gave up. She broke Darien's heart and drove him insane. She would never forgive her. Serena meant nothing to her now. They were no longer friends.
Ami busied herself in Eden City working on the space station. It was her baby for years. She still hung out with Mina occasionally and was even the maid of honor at her wedding. He didn't hear much from Ami anymore or her husband and son.
The only time he saw Raye was at social events where King Endymion forced them to attend over the years. She mostly spent her time in Grey Mountains running the city and her free time mediating in the mountains at her temple. It gave her inner peace. She taught her daughters about Shintoism. They were also psychic like their mother and Raven had the power to manipulate fire like her parents.
As far as the Shields family, they were a mystery. The parents were missing along with the daughters. But what pissed Andrew off more was that his daughter was now one of the Shields.
Sarah married King Derrick today. They had not seen each other in years and now all of sudden, it was love at first sight and now they were married. At least that's the story she told him when she called him a couple of days ago to tell them that she was getting married. No one was there so she left the message on the voicemail. When he came home from work and listened to the message, he could tell something was wrong from the quaking sound in her voice. It was out of character of her to rush into marriage. She did not believe in fairytales and she did want to get marry or start a family. She wanted to be a journalist and was accepted into Kato in the fall after she graduated high school. So why was she marrying Derrick, he wondered. Their wedding ceremony was broadcast on television, the internet, and holograms throughout Ergon. Their wedding was beautiful and Sarah smiled brightly and waved to the crowds as the young couple stepped out of the church as man and wife. Andrew watched his daughter looking beautiful in a beautiful white wedding dress with a see through wedding veil and long wedding dress train that several young ladies had to hold for her. Her hair was styled up in a side crown braid and her makeup was flawless. Elysians traveled from all over to praise their new king and queen on their wedding day.
Sarah and Derrick's classmates erupted in shock and cheer as classes were cancelled as everyone watched the ceremony from the privacy of their rooms or auditoriums on wall-sized projectors.
Rein locked himself in his room and cried holding a picture of him and Sarah. She made love to him. She promised to always love him and be with only him. How could she make love to him seven days ago then married a man she had not seen in nearly eight years? He knew she loved him. He felt it in the way she held him and kiss him and made love to him. She was his best friend since they were ten-years-old. She was his first love, kiss, and time. For two years, she made him as happy as he made her. He knew that their time was coming to an end since high school was over, but not now. It was too soon. His parents knocked on his door afraid for him since he did not want to go to school or eat anything. He cried loudly "Why" not understanding her. It was not like her to do something so rash.
Andrew wondered himself as he watched her on television. Then he saw it. For one split second, she dropped her happy façade and he saw a hint of sadness in her eyes. Something was wrong. He knew he should have answered the phone or been there for her. But his heart was still filled with hatred for her. He loved her, but he hated her for what she did to Lita.
He did not know what to do when a heartbroken Rein Takashita came over a few hours later in a t-shirt and faded blue jeans. His eyes red and his hands stuffed in his pockets. Andrew closed the door and stood on the porch. The weather was warm and starting to feel like spring again.
Rein had come over day the morning after he kicked Sarah out wanting to know if Sarah came home. They spent the night together and when he woke up she was gone. Andrew saw red knowing exactly what spent the night together meant. He still hated the fact that his daughter had a boyfriend and was sexually active. But she could not stay that cute little eight-year-old with the squeaky voice who told him bluntly that he stink and looked horrible with his beard the first time she saw him. She was determined to keep her parents together. He did not like her in the beginning. But she grew on him after he was saved by Sailor Moon and Sailor Mars in Zurich. She formed a truce with him over cookies and milk for breakfast and she told him that he would never be her father but they both wanted to make her mother happy so they could be friends. Andrew happily agreed to the terms as they toasted to their new form friendship with milk. Then, she went on to help him prepare a fancy breakfast for Lita and told him that she was leaving to go play with Rini. She also called Derrick to save him when he was dying from being shot by Nick Yuri, Lita ex-husband. He could talk ill about Nick all he wanted, but Nick loved Sarah and he was the only father she ever knew until Andrew came along, as she told him one day when she was ten. She asked him to accompany her to a father daughter dance at her school before Judgment Day happened. That was the day she went from being his stepdaughter to his daughter.
Tears fell down Rein's face as he asked Andrew, "Why? Why is she doing this? How can she make love to me and then marry another guy a week later? I wasn't some random jock. We knew each other for eight years. We dated for two years. She was my first everything. How could she do this?" He turned to Andrew for answers. "Is it because he's the king? I mean every girl wants to be a princess." He sighed turning away. "I didn't think Sarah was like that."
Andrew wanted to tell Rein that Sarah was already a princess because her mother was a princess of Jupiter. He wanted to tell him that Sarah was a sensible girl even though she was lazy, spoiled, and the worst babysitter ever. He wanted to tell him that this was out of Sarah's character and she probably married King Derrick for reasons other than love. But he could not tell him any of those things. He knew that there were bigger forces at play and to tell Rein any of those things would put his life in immediate danger. He nearly died so many times being friends with the sailor scouts that he lost count. Mina's first husband Jason, her mother Patricia and sister Ariel were dead. To be involved with his daughter especially now that she was member of the royal family would mean Rein's death. It was better that he move on with his life and stay away from Sarah. He looked at Rein and said sadly, "I'm sorry Rein, but Sarah is like any other girl. She wants the fairytale. You're a good guy, but she is better off with Derrick. He is rich and powerful and he will give her a good life. Do you want her to be happy, Rein?"
Rein sniffled wiping his eyes with the back of his arm. He nodded.
Andrew said, "Then let her be happy with Derrick."
Rein looked into Andrew's eyes for assurance. "You think he could make her happy?"
Andrew's eyes smiled and said happily knowing that he was lying, "Yes, he would. Now, do her a favor and move on and be happy with your life. Okay?" Rein did not nod thinking that he'll never be happy with anyone else. He stood up and held out his hand. He said, "Thank you, Lord Furuhata."
Andrew smiled standing up and shook the boy's hand. "Good-bye Rein." Rein nodded then walked off. Andrew sympathized with the boy as he watched his retreating figure and Rein getting into his father's truck then driving off.
Andrew walked back inside to join Lita in bed again. After getting comfortable, he read the newspaper out loud flipping through the pages. He said, "There was a fire on the outskirts of Owl Village a couple of days ago. A family of three lived there. The mother and father perished in the fire. They are still searching for the son, Nathaniel Black, an eight-year-old boy." He peeped over the newspaper at Lita. She still looked blankly ahead with no movement. Children used to always get a kick out of her. They were her passion. She always wanted to be a mother and a housewife.
He scrolled down the front page with a large photograph of the royal newlyweds standing on the balcony of the east wing of the palace waving to the thousands of Elysians standing outside cheering for them. Everyone was there in Midas City. He was invited to attend but he turned it down along with his invitation to Mina's wedding due to Lita's sickness. He saw stories about wedding parties throughout the kingdom being thrown for the New King and Queen of Elysian.
He flipped through the pages and saw they were still searching for the former king and queen. The government checked the Montgomery's, who proudly admitted that they were the former Tuskino's family. Ken and Irene confessed that they had not seen their daughter since the day of the trial. Sammy confessed that he believed the former king Endymion murdered Martin after finding him in a compromising position with his wife. The former king was completely responsible and his sister had nothing to do with it. The government was still treating her as if she was an accomplice since she was on the run with him. Even Andrew could figure it out, the government wanted Serena dead also. They tried to frame her for a crime she did not commit. Serena did some evil things as the devil's wife, but she was not a murderer.
He heard the doorbell rang. He knew it was not Zach or Josh because they had keys. Zach practically was there six days a week. He was absent on Thursdays because he volunteered at the hospital and usually assisted Lizzy. It did not take Lita or Andrew by surprise when Josh sneakily informed them that he made Zach a key to the house. It was not Thursday, but he knew that Zach and Josh were at the restaurant. He hoped it was not Rein again. He sighed frustrated and said to Lita, "I'll be back. I'm going to check to see who is at the door this time."
He was surprised when he saw it was Darien dressed comfortably in a black form fitting shirt, blue jeans, and sneakers. From behind his back popped out Serena, she was wearing a pretty blue dress and heels. Her long starlight hair hung down her back smoothed back by a blue headband.
Andrew's eyes met Darien. He did not seem like Endymion. He reminded him of the best friend that he had not seen in years. He was Darien Shields again. They stared at one another. It's been eight years since they really hung out. They were civilized to one another but nothing more and talked only about trivialized things like the weather and politics when they interacted over the years. Andrew focused more on his family, while Darien became the callous king Endymion becoming less like the Darien he once knew and more like the monstrous king people thought of him as. Serenity watched them stare at one another not speaking.
Normally, she would not mind this staring match, but they were on the run and the government was searching everywhere for them. She no longer had the ability to disguise herself so they could not pretend to be someone else like she did with Raye when they were in this predicament.
Darien finally spoke, "I need your help."
Andrew nodded. "I've been waiting eight years for you to say that." Darien sighed in relief. Serenity smiled as Andrew moved to the side and allowed them inside his home. He peeped outside checking to see if they were being watched before he closed and locked the door.
The Underworld
Rini groaned as her eyes fluttered opened. She was dressed in a red off the shoulder dress and lying on a soft canopy bed. She slowly sat up. Her heart was still pounding. She felt like she's been asleep forever. She was surprised as she looked around at the nice-sized room adorned with golden furniture and wardrobe closets and trunks. The room was surrounded by four large open windows. The sky was red and misty. She could hear dragons soaring outside in the sky. She looked down and saw that she was in the tower of a large and majestic stone palace. She strolled over to the floor mirror and looked at herself gazing at the woman she saw. She looked beautiful with long strawberry blonde hair styled into two cone-shaped odango pigtails. She was wearing red lipstick and had sensual blue eyes. Her breasts were full and soft. Her waist was small and his hips were wide. She was looking at herself and for the first time, she realized she was beautiful. Nothing was wrong with her. There was a knock on the door. Her eyes grew wide as she hopped back into the bed and pretended she was still asleep.
It was a short, fat and old chambermaid with a hunchback and black warts all over her green face and skin. She wore a plain black dress and had yellow eyes. She straightened up the room and checked to see if the princess was still asleep. She stayed in the room for about five minutes before leaving. When the doors closed, Rini opened her eyes and sat up and swung her feet off the bed.
She walked towards the chambers door and peeped out to see demonic guards that looked like humanoid ram creatures in black armor. They patrolled in formation and marched together in sets of two every five minutes. She timed them for about twenty minutes. When they turned a corner, she dashed out of the room and raced the opposite way.
Jeth stood in his father's throne room as Dragon paced back and forth in front of him. His father was happy. His plan with the Elysians was coming together perfectly and soon his father would be the most powerful being of all time. Dragon smiled showing off his fangs. "How's the princess?"
Jeth said, "She's still asleep."
Dragon said rubbing his hands together happily, "Good. It's almost time." He turned to his son and added with grin, "She's kind of hot for a virgin."
Jeth frowned. Dragon tilted his head. "What are you upset about? You're lucky that I did not kill you for your defiance." He scoffed. "I heard how that girl defeated you in battle."
Jeth had been the joke of the Underworld ever since that night of the ball. He had no idea that Princess Serenity would be so powerful. He underestimated her. She was after all the daughter of King Endymion and Queen Serenity, two of the most powerful beings in their galaxy.
Princess Serenity had been asleep since he kidnapped her a week ago. He had her quarters secured by the guards to make sure no one touched her. Her innocence was intoxicating to someone of their dark world. The desire to corrupt an innocent like her was intoxicating to him too. It was intoxicating to him also because he found himself drawn to her as he watched her sleep in her chambers at night. Every night he checked on her to make sure that she was fine. He watched her sleeping form from the shadows of the room. He knew every curve, the soft sounding of her breathing, the beauty mark on the back of her arm, the tiny freckles on the back of her neck that formed a crescent moon when he connected the dots in his head. He noticed it when he watched her turn on her side in bed. He nearly jumped out of his chair when he thought she was about to wake up.
He knew she could never love him just like her mother could not love him as a son. She hated him because he was the devil's son and Satan's grandson. He was evil, the son of the devil and a mortal woman. Yet, why did his body respond to hers? Why did he find himself thinking of her when he should be leading his father's armies and watching over the souls of the Underworld? She confused him greatly.
Jeth said to his father, "Derrick will not let you touch her."
Dragon sneered. "She's his great granddaughter. But something can be arranged afterwards." Jeth bowed and dismissed himself. His father disregard for the female sex disgusted him sometimes. He watched his father with a harem full of demonic women to satisfy him and still he wanted more. Two things would happen to Rini if Dragon touched her. She would either die as a human or he would turn her into one of concubine, a demonic and submissive woman for eternity. She deserved neither fate, even though she destroyed his pride and made him a laughingstock.
Rini came to a halt when she came around a corner and saw a group of creatures that looked like gothic looking vampires with pale skin. They sensed her presence as all turned to her with red eyes. They hissed as their fangs grew. Rini stiffened as they raced towards her. A beautiful siren in a black gown with powdered skin and wild hair made of blue snakes walked around the corner and saw her. She screamed a banshee scream alerting the entire Underworld that the princess had escaped.
Jeth halted and turned around and raced in the direction of the screams. Dragon turned to the scream and yelled out, "Capture her and bring her to me! I want her alive! She must not escape or be harm!"
Owl Village, Gaia
Katie searched the town of Owl Village looking for the boy. The police was searching for him also to question them. Katie panicked. She had to find the boy before the police did. That was the same as being in the hands of the enemy since they all worked for the government. She already knew that Nathaniel had used his powers to kill his parents. She regretted not taking him back into their world immediately. Their deaths were on her hands. She procrastinated and now his powers had become active again. Elizabeth binded her son's dark powers hours before she died on Judgment Day. Now, something had triggered them. He was like a time bomb waiting to go off. She had to find him before her brother or uncle got their hands on him.
Andrew strolled into the living room with two sodas in his hands since Darien informed him that he no longer drunk alcohol. He tossed Darien a can which he easily caught and thanked Andrew. Andrew fell back in his lounge chair as Darien sat back on the sofa with his legs stretched out as they sipped their sodas. Serenity was upstairs with Lita. Andrew hoped Serenity could heal Lita like she healed him once.
Andrew broke the silence. "So your son is trying to kill you?"
"Yup along with my siblings."
Andrew arched his eyebrow. "Are you sure you guys are related?"
Darien nodded. "Yes, there were blood tests, birth certificates, the powers, the golden eyes…they're definitely my family." He gulped down his soda. He crushed the can in his hand then bent over to sit it on the table. There was an awkward silence between the two men, neither knowing what to say to the other.
At the restaurant in town, Josh wearing an apron and hairnet stood in the kitchen flipping burgers and flame boiling the fries in hot grease while Zach was on the floor taking customers' order. The ground shook around them as a large explosion occurred outside rocking the entire town. Katie stopped and turned into the direction as she saw smoke coming from the forest. It had to be Nathaniel. She raced towards it while citizens of the town came out of the buildings searching to see what was going on.
Josh raced outside and stood next to Zach. He saw the smoke coming from the forest. Josh shouted in confusion, "What's the hell going on?"
Zach said, "I don't know but I think I saw a redheaded girl running towards her."
Josh wondered if it was Rini or Katie. Sarah told him that Katie was back. She saw her at the ball.
Josh turned to Zach and said vehemently taking off his apron and hairnet, "Go check on the burgers. Five minutes on one side then flip it over for five minutes on the other side and take the fries out. Make sure they are golden brown." Zach took the hairnet and apron with a baffled look on his face. There was another large explosion stealing their attention. Josh turned to Zach placing his hands on his shoulders. He said, "I'm serious. Can you handle you it?" Fire trucks with their sirens blaring loudly raced passed them along with police cruisers.
Zach said scratching his head still confused, "I guess." Josh nodded then raced off towards the forest.
Katie glowered as she saw Madeline standing next to Nathaniel still in flames with soulless dark marble eyes and symbol of the black crescent moon on his forehead. Madeline smiled wickedly at her cousin. They were surrounding by fire as the forest burnt around them. Katie's eyes became misty and she brought her fist up to her mouth as she coughed. The smoke and fire was overwhelming her.
Madeline said, "Long time no see cousin." She said glancing at Nathaniel, "We need him. He's a carrier of two of the crystals."
Katie lashed out, "He's only a boy. He's doesn't know how to control his powers."
Madeline grinned. "Let's see." She bent over and said in Nathaniel's ears as she stared at Katie with amusement, "Kill the ginger." Nathaniel held out his hands and a large fireball shot from them.
Katie said appalled, "I am not a ginger." Her eyes turned golden. She smirked. It was a good day as any to test out her new powers. Katie yelled out, "Mizu supuraito no kōgeki." Water shot out of her hand and formed the shape of a mermaid. It shot through his attack and Nathaniel's attack vaporized. He glanced up as his eyes glowed red. Her eyes widen as she turned around and saw another large fireball in the sky heading directly towards her. She saw it coming towards her and disappeared. The blast collided with a tree and Katie watched from floating in the sky as a tree about thirty feet tall collapsed to the ground causing the ground to shake. She saw firefighters and police officers. The police officers were blockading the roads while the firefighters were trying to extinguish the wild fires that grew larger and larger. She panicked when she realized that the fire was heading for the town. Everything behind Nathaniel was destroyed and burnt down. He was leaving a trail of destruction.
"Hey cuz…" She turned around and saw Madeline behind her. Madeline surprised Katie with a right hook to the face causing Katie to fall hundreds of feet to the ground. Madeline looked down at her. She said, "Let me show you how to really use your water powers."
Madeline yelled holding out her hands towards Katie's falling body, "Mizu supuraito no kōgeki!" A gigantic ball of water formed the shape of mermaid and screamed as it raced towards Katie's body exploding as Katie's body crashed into the ground. A small tremor occurred. When the smoke cleared the flames of the forest were out. Madeline and Nathaniel were gone.
Josh snuck passed the firefighters and police and raced into the forest. He found an unconscious Katie lying on the ground.
Serenity lied next to Lita, who was still unresponsive. There was nothing she could do for her since the silver crystal was destroyed. Her powers grew more pitiable every day. She could hardly teleport them there to Owl Village since travel required a series of scanners checking identifications. Her healing powers were fading and she could no longer read others' thoughts. She was becoming as mortal as her husband.
Serenity sighed as she fell back onto the bed next to Lita looking at the white spot that Lita was staring blankly at.
Serenity said with her hands on top her belly, "I don't know who I am anymore."
Lita remained unresponsive as Serenity reached over and grabbed her hand. She continued overwhelmed with guilt. "I did something very terrible, Lita. I can't fix it, and I have to carry it with me for the rest of my life." She paused and said softly, "I killed Lady Luckington and Cain knew exactly how I did it." She turned her head sideways to Lita who did not respond. She gazed back at the white spot on the wall. "I thought that I could handle Endymion's infidelity. I even told him that it was okay for him to have other women. Then I saw it and I was as jealous and angry as any other woman who catches her husband in bed with another woman. I killed a mortal." Her eyes became misty. "And someone else took the fall for it. Rose did not kill Lady Luckington. I did and she died because she lied for me. I don't know why she did it. I was the one that was supposed to die not her."
Serenity turned to Lita again. She said, "Maybe I am as evil as people think I am." She glanced at herself in the mirror. "I don't recognize this person that I have become."
"Serenity! Come downstairs!" She heard Darien calling for her in apprehension. Serenity jumped up from the bed and said to Lita, "I'll be back." She glanced at Lita's hand hoping that it would move, but it did not. She left out of the room and raced down the stairs. "Oh my god!" She saw Josh carrying an unconscious Katie in his arms. She looked badly bruised up.
Andrew said hurriedly, "Put her on the sofa."
Josh gently laid Katie on the sofa. Serenity rushed to her daughter. Darien was already by her side. He demanded angrily, "Who did this to her?"
Josh said hastily, "I don't know. There was a huge explosion and fire in the forest. Zach saw Katie running towards it and I went after her. When I got there, Katie was unconscious and the forest was drenched dry."
Darien hastily tried to use his powers to heal his daughter. Serenity stared at her husband. Before she could speak, it dawned on him that he was powerless. He no longer had the ability to heal her. Serenity knelt down placing a comforting arm on Darien.
She prayed to Uno that she had the power still to heal her daughter. If not, Katie was going to die. Even though her body could heal itself, her injuries would kill her before her body could heal itself. She was bleeding internally.
Serenity closed her eyes and said, "Please Uno. If my powers are to be taken away, please give me this last chance to heal my daughter." Her hands began to glow. Darien sighed happily as Andrew happily embraced him. Zach and Josh smiled as Zach grabbed Josh's hand.
They watched as Katie's wounds slowly healed and her natural glow came back. She started breathing normally again and her eyes fluttered opened to see her parents and Andrew, Josh, and another guy she didn't know smiling happily down at her. She slowly sat up to receive a bear hug from her parents. She let them hold her for a moment snugly as they thanked Uno that she was alive. It was nice to know that her parents still loved and cared about her.
Midas City, Endymion
Night time was falling over Ergon and Sarah spent her wedding day in a happy façade. The ceremony took all morning. The parades, the photographs, the crowds, the parties, the social gatherings, and mingling with thousands of Elysians exhausted the young queen. Her husband allowed her to leave the final party they were to attend early to get some rest. He kissed her cheek and told her how good of a queen she was.
Sarah lied restless in her bed. She was in the queen's quarters dressed in a pure white night gown. She had been there for a week and every night she was dressed up and summoned to meet with King Derrick. He spent most of his days working on something, but made time to have dinner with her every night.
He made her uncomfortable. He was powerful beyond reason. She was surprised that he was not as violent as he was in her dream and the night he kidnapped her. She was afraid of him and after two days of worrying that he was going to break into her quarters and rape her, he informed her that he was not going to take her against her will even though he desired her.
It relaxed her a little even though he occasionally groped her body and kissed her. Sarah could hear the sounds of a little girl and boy running around the castle at night. When she asked her maids if there were any children around, they told her that she was imagining things and there were no children in the castle since the king and his sisters were children. Was she imagining hearing their ghosts at night time? Was the palace haunted?
It also frightened her that one of her ladies 'maids was a reborn version of Rose. She could see the speck of red in her eyes. Rose was with her most of the time. Derrick warned her if she tried to escape, Rose had his permission to restrain her by any means necessary.
Derrick did not like the reincarnation of Sarah. She did not love him like his wife Sarah did. Well, at least until he turned evil and became a bloody lunatic after his grandmother died as his wife once told him. He could easily take her or make her submit to him. "You need to mate with the girl." Derrick was sitting on his throne in the ballroom downstairs in the palace. There was a ball thrown in Derrick and Sarah's honor. Sarah had already retired to her sleeping quarters for the night an hour ago. Sarah had asked him if she may be excused. He told her that she was dismissed. She politely thanked him and that pissed him off. She really did irritate him a lot.
He was sitting on his throne while the room was festive with citizens of Elysian in fancy dresses and tuxedos dancing to festive music and beautiful gypsies danced to sensual dances before him.
He glanced at his Aunt Evelyn and her husband mingling with the guest. His new Aunt Mina was talking happily to some of the nobility. His Uncle Cain with a serious expression on his face was telling him that he needed to mate with his wife of eight hours.
Derrick smiled as he admired a beautiful dancer eying him as he sipped his wine. She was perfect for warming his bed tonight, he thought. He laughed at his uncle, "What?"
Cain's face was completely serious. He said seriously, "Impregnate your wife tonight. You need an heir to secure the throne and reassure the nobility that they made the right choice in making you their king over your father."
Derrick said, "I will not force myself on my wife."
Cain said forcefully, "Endymion has two other children, your sisters. If you die, one of them could easily become the Earth Queen."
"I thought you said the Earth King could only be male." He had taken over complete possession of Derrick's body and now knew all of his thoughts and memories including his uncle telling Rini when they were children that only the heirs of the throne to the Earth could be male.
"I lied to prevent your sister Serenity from taking the throne. When I found out that you were born, I had the law changed only allowing males to rule Elysian. I even tried to kill the child and her mother before she was born. You need an heir. As long as your father still lives, he can take his throne back. The sword still responds to him."
Derrick smirked. "My father is powerless now. He'll be dead soon anyway."
Derrick placed his wine down on the arm of his throne and rose from his seat. When Cain saw that he was about to make a gesture to the beautiful dancer, Cain said quietly, "Derrick!"
Derrick laughed and disappeared.
He reappeared in Sarah's chambers. She was standing on the balcony looking out at the city. Sarah stiffened when she felt his arms wrapping around her from behind her as she gripped the railing tightly as he pushed himself against her body. She panicked as he sniffed her hair and nuzzled his head against it. Sarah trembled as he squeezed her so tightly around her waist the bottom of her gown rose.
Sarah said as her chest heaved as he held her body, "You told me that you would not take me tonight. You said that if I married you, you would heal my mother." She tried to move away from him. He tightened his grip.
He tilted her head and kissed her neck. "I know." He rested his head on her shoulders as he looked up at the festive city of Midas with fireworks in the sky and parties throughout the city in celebration of their marriage. "Parliament is a bit testy and my uncle is under a lot of pressure for me to produce an heir to the throne. As my wife, it is up to you to complete this task. I promised after tonight, I will not touch you again. I'll find other ways to satisfy my needs. So what do you say?"
He was asking her to make a child like it was another fancy party he needed her to attend. A baby is forever. She did not want children. She wanted to go to college and write about things that matter not be someone's queen and smile and look pretty for the cameras.
She used her strength and pushed herself away from him. He smiled as her Herculean strength impressed him. He liked that she was not a weakling and had spunk. He was used to being surrounded by damsels in distress his entire life.
Sarah strolled back into her bedroom as he followed her. She thought about her decision. She turned to him stopping him in his tracks. "You promise me that if I do this, then you will heal my mother."
Derrick nodded even though he knew he was lying. He said in a sincere voice stepping closer to her and touching her arms, "Of course my love. Come to my chambers tonight and tomorrow I shall heal your mother." Sarah reluctantly nodded turning her head. Derrick smiled and disappeared.
The Underworld
Rini used her wind powers and fighting skills to battle the demons as she engaged in a hand to hand combat with them. She shouted, "Kaze no burasuta" as a powerful blast of wind shot from her hands blowing the demons away from her. She continued to fight them off as Jeth watched her from a distance defeating over twenty demonic creatures easily. She raced off escaping from the palace and used her swords to slash the ropes causing the black drawbridge to fall as the Dragon's soldiers were hot on her trail. She quickly raced across the drawbridge and across the Lake of Fire onto the molten rock and towards the rocky caves. Jeth watched as his father's armies chased after the girl. He felt sorry for her. She could not escape the Underworld.
Midas City, Endymion
Sarah was bathed, dressed, and pampered with fresh scents and perfumes. Her hair was even brushed for her. She was sitting at her vanity mirror sideways as Lily brushed her hair. She was dressed in a long ivory white nightgown with a V-neckline and lace on the bodice with a flowing nylon skirt. She wore a matching white silky robe over it tied tightly at the waist with her thin strings.
She tapped her fingers on the table with a puzzled look on her face as Lily continued to softly brush her long, auburn hair. She found it all strange since all she was going to do was sleep with her husband tonight and produce his heir. She was trying not freaked herself out that she was intentionally going to get pregnant by a man she found attractive but she did not love like she loved Rein. A week ago she was worried about being pregnant with Rein's baby and now she was willingly letting Derrick impregnate her. One night when she was younger with Josh, they eavesdropped on one of her mother's conversations with her aunts. She knew her mother would kill her and hate that Sarah followed in her footsteps and became pregnant at eighteen like she did. But if it would bring her mother back to life, then so be it. There was a knock on the door. Lily and Sarah gazed towards the door. Lily placed the brush down. She said, "Your majesty, it is time."
Sarah smiled sadly at Lily who smiled equally sadly at her like she pitied Sarah. Sarah said, "Thank you, Lily."
Lily curtsied, "Just doing my job, your majesty."
Sarah stood up and placed a hand on Lily's shoulder. "Could you do me a favor?"
Lily said happily, "Yes, milady?"
Sarah said, "I'm new to this whole queen thing and I am sure it's probably against the rules. But in private, could you call me Sarah?"
Lily nodded. "Yes, your majesty." She frowned and said quickly, "But only in private." Sarah smiled. There was another knock on the door. Sarah blew air like she was going to the electric chair rather than to procreate with her husband. She walked towards the door and opened it.
She strolled down the hallways escorted by castle guards and noble ladies to the King's chambers. Sarah's eyes widen when she saw that the king's bedroom was filled with aristocrats like Lord Davenport. Her aunt…Lady Mina and her husband Prince Alexander, Princess Evelyn and her husband Joe, Lord Luckington and his new mistress Lady Laurie Bowman. There were other people there that were members of the Elysian nobility but Sarah could not recall their names.
Derrick strolled over to her wearing a thin blue robe tied around his waist. He noticed Sarah was freaking out as he grabbed her hand and led her to the enormous king-sized bed. Sarah gritted through her teeth, "Why are there about thirty people in this room?"
Derrick cut his eyes towards his uncle and said irritated, "They want proof of our consummation and that a new heir to the Elysian throne is created."

Derrick said untying her robe, "Think of it as our marriage contract being bonded and sealed."
Sarah said quietly, "So this is a business deal. You save my mother. I married you and produce your heir." He pushed her robe off her shoulders as it fell into a pool around her feet.

"You are worse than your father."
"What? Are you going to kill me now like you are trying to kill him?"
Cain glowered at him. Derrick stepped up to his uncle unfazed by his anger. "The Shields family controlled the crown of the Earth not the Bennett family or any other Elysian family. Only Endymion, the brother that you despise, and his children are the rightful heirs to the throne of Elysian. You may think we are beneath you. And yes, you would have been a great king. But the crystal chose my father twice as its rightful master, and my father bequeathed all of his children of this lifetime with ability to control the crystal also. Therefore, you can't do shit to me because it is my family that keeps your people alive."
Derrick cackled. He backed away taunting his uncle. He held his hands up in surrender. "Come on. Kill me. I dare you to." Cain fumed breathing heavily. Derrick grinned dropping his hands. "I thought so." He turned on his heel and walked away. He said out loud as he walked away, "I think I'm old enough to rule a kingdom now. Your services are no longer needed." Derrick disappeared. Cain screamed in anger as the glass and windows shattered around him. Cain did not know which version of the Prince Derrick he was speaking to, but now that Derrick produced an heir his days were numbered in this life.
Owl Village, Gaia
Katie paced the living room playing nervously with her hands. Her mother sat on her father's lap as he had his arms wrapped tightly around her waist. Andrew sat in his lounge chair while Josh sat next to Serena and Darien. Zach was upstairs watching the children and keeping an eye on Lita.
Darien prompted after waiting ten minutes for Katie to speak, "Katie, please sweetheart speak."
Katie sighed. Darien groaned. It was like the tenth time she sighed in ten minutes.
Katie sighed as everyone in the room gave her a collective groan waiting for her to explain what she knew. She groaned. She turned to him using a lot of hand gestures as she spoke to explain herself. Serenity smiled a little. "Okay, this is what I know. I don't know the details, but I know the basics. I was sent here by Prince Matthew to retrieve his son Nathaniel Black. I don't know the details of how the boy ended up here. It was something about alternate realities and dimensions and time travel. I don't remember, but I was to retrieve him and bring him back to my world. When I was gone most of the time, I was keeping an eye on him. I was watching him to make sure that he was the one I was looking for. And even when I realized it was him, I hesitated."
Serenity asked, "Why?"
Katie paused then she looked at her parents, "Because once I leave this world, I could never return." She smiled. "I like my new life, but I didn't realize how much I missed my family in this world until I saw you again. So it was hard to leave…" Her face dropped in regret. "And now it's my fault that this mess has been created."
Andrew asked, "What do you mean?"
She turned to her Uncle Andrew then her parents. "The Key and the four crystals."
Everyone said simultaneously, "What?"
Katie sighed deeply again. "Once a upon a time, in the times when mankind did not exist and the gods ruled the seven galactic universes, the all-powerful Father of all gods and living things Uno created four guardians and gave them each a crystal to bring peace to their citizens of their galaxies and long life to the people of their home planets. The Sun King was granted the yellow crystal and ruled two galaxies that consisted of fifty planets. The golden crystal was granted to the Earth King who ruled over two galaxies that consisted of eighteen planets. The White Moon Queen was granted the power of the silver crystal and ruled peacefully two galaxies. The King of the Underworld and guardian of the demonic world and hell dimensions, Aries guarded the Underworld and ruled over one galaxy and was granted the dark crystal. Uno felt that Aries' job was of the most important since he was guardian of the world of the dead and gave him only one galaxy to rule."
Darien and Serenity felt a sense of déjà vu like this stories sounded familiar somehow. She gasped. She remembered being a little girl on the moon and Luna in both her human and feline form was like her governess telling her the story of creation.
Katie said looking at her parents. "Dad is a descendant on the Earth King, the golden crystal. Mom is a descendant of the White Moon Queen, the silver crystal. Nathaniel is a descendant of Aries and the Sun King, the black and yellow crystal. Derrick is the son of Endymion, the golden crystal. Rini and I are the children of Endymion and Serenity, the golden and silver crystals. The four crystals combined with the key are needed to open the gates of Heaven and Hell. Once the crystals and the key combined, the heaven and hell dimensions, alternate realities, parallel universes, time warps, and black holes will combine and the lands of the living will merge with the land of the dead. Satan will be freed from hell and get his revenge on Uno for trapping him in the hell dimension for all eternity. Everything will be in eternal chaos with the Satan as its king."
Katie glanced at the collective horrified looks on their faces. Darien scoffed trying to make light of the situation. "This is ridiculous."
Serenity felt Darien getting antsy. She stood so that he could get up. He moved off of the sofa and paced the floor. Serenity sat back down. Darien could not believe what he was hearing. It sounded crazy.
Katie stared at him until her father's eyes met hers. Serenity asked as they turned to her. "Where's does Kimberly fall in?"
Katie looked confused. Serenity said, "My daughter with the devil, the so-called Anti-Messiah."
A look of clarity came across Katie's face. "Oh, I completely forgot about her. Yes, she's your daughter and a descendant of the White Moon Queen too, but she's not the Anti-Messiah." Everyone turned to Katie. The room became tense as everyone stared at her.
Darien asked slowly, "Who is it then?"
Katie stared at him. "Derrick is." The voice did not belong to Katie. Everyone turned to the front door to see a very pregnant Raye and her daughters standing in the doorway. Everyone stared at her as she only looked at Darien. "Derrick is the Anti-Messiah."
