Wow, sorry this took another month to update. I knew how this chapter was gonna go like right after I finished chapter 16, but it was just a pain to write. Took forever to finally write something down onto Word. So, I took little breaks, went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier over Easter Break ((twice actually...BUCKYYYYYY NNNNOOO)), I took the SATs again on May 3rd, I did some stuff with original characters, and now I'm getting myself into the BBC show Merlin. ((dear god those boys are such dorks))

So anyway, yeah, here it is. Just a warning though, I still do NOT ship Loki/OC, for a few pretty good reasons, but I will prey on friendship feels/protective feels later. I got inspiration for this chapter heavily from the anime MoonPhase, notably episodes 8, 9, and 10; I also used The Great Gatsby for a little bit of description help and the 2003 live action Peter Pan as inspiration for the last bit, if any of you think that the image is familiar...I tried to replicate the Fairy Dance scene :)

Review Replies from Chapter Sixteen:

Big thanks goes to Concrete63, CrystalClear98, JBethH, and Anissa(guest) for your reviews! Favs and Follows are always nice, but reviews mean so much more!

anissa asked: hey are you going to make a sequel to this & if your going to make a sequel are you going to make it like romance in it?

Maybe, when Avengers: Age of Ultron comes out. I wanted to write this so that it wouldn't interfere too much with the Phase Two structure. I will be doing other things with Tori Matthews though, this isn't the first, nor is it the last world she'll be dragged into. My romance writing depends on the fandom and how I feel about the canon ships, so when she ends up somewhere where she is closer in age to the main characters and I really like them ((or their dorky actors)) then I'll inject more romancy feels. If you're talking about a possible Avenger'd Age of Ultron or Ultron'd, maybe, IDK. I'd have to see how I feel about Quicksilver, since he'll be the new face around Avengers town :D Hope this answers your question well, and thanks for reviewing.

Disclaimer:

I do not own anything in the MCU, just my OC, but I am taking the wheel in the story now!

*Bucky reaches in and grabs my wheel* BUCKY NOOOOOOO STOP NO I NEED THAT

Avenger'd

Chapter Seventeen

The god of mischief couldn't have looked more smug or satisfied with himself. That is of course, unless he had stealthily taken up the Asgardian throne without anyone noticing or taking action against him. But that was a faraway fantasy compared to what he had achieved in little more than a couple of days.

"Soon," he gloated. "Soon my revenge on those pathetic heroes will be nigh, and my time will come to rule this world as its king!"

He glanced over to his new guest, the strange mortal Tori Matthews. Loki admitted that at first, he was perturbed and angry over the presence of this girl when she had first arrived instead of his promised Chitauri army. However, as the time went on, he learned of her massive potential energy and little by little he had steered the girl and her powers in the direction he wanted them to go. Toying with her fears, causing panic and doubt, preying on her worst nightmares, those had been relishing to do for the god of mischief, even keeping some anonymity was thrilling in a different sense, like a looming shadow. He couldn't have been more pleased with the final, overflowing explosion of the built up energy at the Helicarrier.

And now here she was, his ultimate pawn, ready to be guided into battle.

"Let's see what you can do," he laughed gleefully. "Show me."

To his disappointment, Tori did nothing, standing stoically and unmoving, her glowing eyes staring blankly ahead. Loki hesitated. Had he been wrong?

He shook his head dismissively. No, he couldn't have been. There must be something that was restraining the girl's body from obeying him. Loki thought for a moment, before realization hit him.

He drew closer to the stone-faced teen and pressed his forehead against hers, focusing deeply on Tori's subconscious.

I was sitting in a pitch black corner of space, curled up, hugging my knees. My body shuddered with broken, dry sobs that I had long since ended. All around me I could hear the voices of the Avengers echoing.

"You do remember she fell out of the portal meant for the Chitauri, right?"

"Sorry kid, this whole fiasco's a little taxing on us all."

"You gave us all quite a scare Tori."

"The more we draw in, the higher chance Loki has of knowing we're coming, and escape, or worse…"

"Me, Thor, and Cap will head to the coordinates we pinpointed and ambush. You, Romanoff, and Banner will stay here with Tori and Pepper."

"If Loki had sent some of his allies to attack the Tower we'd be here to stop them."

"What the hell is that?"

"You can't go, you're being rash and dangerous with something you don't even know how to control! If Loki was standing outside right now do you honestly think you'd be of any assistance alone?"

I released a shaky breath, clenching my teeth and shutting my eyes.

"I'm sorry," I whispered into the nothing. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." It made sense now what Natasha was saying at the Tower, even though it stung a little bit. If we were in danger, I would have just gotten in the way, and messed up Tony's plan. I should have had more trust in the others' abilities and stayed put. And now-

I was alone. Abandoned.

A whimper escaped my lips in place of the dried up tears.

"I'm better off forgotten anyway," I murmured softly, resting my chin on my knees. For a brief moment, I thought of home, of the past. My old friends...who were now no longer.

"Oh hey Victoria, sorry we couldn't hang out, but I just don't want to be friends with you anymore. That's cool with you, right? I mean you're not mad? Not like you could get mad anyway, you're too nice."

I bit my lip, the voice ringing in my ears as if it were only yesterday. Without any warning, that day replayed in my mind.

"Hey, wait, what are you doing here?" I asked jovially, out of breath from running. "I thought you told me you're not into these things!"

"Yeah well- I gotta go," he replied curtly, turning away with his other friends. Then...later…

"Wait up Thomas!" I called, turning from the exit to catch up with my old friend. He said not a word, but sped up his pace, turning the corner and disappearing. His other friends, right behind him, were giggling and gave one glance back to me, smiles on their faces. I felt my face heat up and my eyes well up with fluid. I turned my face away and kept myself from crying until I was away from the crowds of other people.

I hugged myself tighter and let a sniffle escape. My eye ducts had begun to work again and a fresh new set of tears were brimming on the corners.

"I'm better off not existing at all."

All of a sudden, I heard a loud creak from behind me, and there were rays of bright light streaming from the source. I turned around and squinted to see a door of golden light, and a silhouette standing in it.

"Well now, isn't that an awful thing to say," a soft voice echoed through the space. As my eyes adjusted to the light, I began to see his illuminated figure. "No one should want to cast off their existence."

I felt my mouth drop slightly open. Standing in the glowing light was a man with hair as black as obsidian, beautifully emerald eyes, and a bright, winning smile- a smile that seemed like it could only be meant for you in that very moment out of every person in the world; one that made you feel less lonely and filled you with hope. This man was dressed as an elegant prince, with a red and gold tunic and black dress pants beneath a billowing emerald cloak that matched his eyes. I was stunned into momentary silence.

"Who are you?" I asked after a few minutes, glancing both curiously and nervously at the elegant newcomer.

"Who would you like me to be?" he replied in a voice as sweet as his appearance. My breath hitched slightly and I bit my lip in thought. After a second, I looked straight into his eyes.

"I want you to be my knight to rescue me from the darkness," I began slowly, standing up. "I want you to be the one to never leave me, never abandon me."

The man's face became serious for a moment, and only a moment. His warm smile returned with a melodic chuckle.

"Milady, it would be more than an honor to be your knight," he affirmed, bowing, the golden light behind him casting a majestic aura like the sun's own corona. "I would never dream of leaving your side unless it was what you so desired. Now come with me, take my hand."

He extended his hand to me and I, still captivated by his eyes and his smile, took it gingerly. As soon as I did so, the entire place was flooded with the light. The dark, barren landscape was transformed into a beautiful large atrium, whose walls were covered with ivy and tropical plants. The entire room was lit with a hovering pink ball of light, and tiny wisps of this light would circle around like rose-colored fairies engaging in a serene waltz.

I was breathless at the sight, gazing in fascination at the wonder of the place. I looked back to the man, who simply nodded at me. This confused me for a moment, and I looked down, only to let out a small yelp. I was no longer wearing my three-day-old outfit of the jacket, camisole, and shorts; I was now adorned in a gorgeous emerald green ball gown that made me look and feel like a medieval princess. I reached and touched my neck, feeling a ribbon choker nestled on it. I felt my face heat up and a goofy, gaping grin would not part ways with my face. At my reaction, he chuckled and walked me towards the center of the room.

"Would you care to dance, milady?" he asked in a low, soft tone. I nodded slowly, composing myself, but still leaving my lips curved in their favorite direction.

"It would be my pleasure, sir," I replied with a curtsy, and he bowed in response.

He took my hands and slowly we moved, not taking our eyes away from each other, letting our feet move on their own. A faint familiar melody played in the background as we danced, and then, he gently picked me up by the waist and tossed me in the air. To my surprise, I flew...well, floated more really, and he floated up to me and we continued, while hovering. The pink wisps of light strayed from their original courses and began to circle around us.

"Promise me," I murmured wistfully, "that we'll stay like this for a while? I don't want this moment to end." He pushed a lock of my hair out of my face and behind my ear.

"I promise you, my dear lady, if you wish it, we would stay till forever rolled by," he spoke soothingly in reply.

And so we stayed there, endlessly dancing, in that moment that seemed like a lifetime.

Nothing else mattered.

Loki pulled away from the girl slowly, satisfied with his work.

"Now, my dear," he ordered once more. "Show me your power."

This time, Tori obligingly did so, a bright glow emanating from her skin before she let loose her powers.

Loki's cackle echoed through the cavernous hallways as eerily as a dark foreboding warning to the unknowing Avengers.

Hope you guys enjoyed that!

Something wicked this way comes for the unwitting heroes, mwahahahahaaaaa *flickers lights menacingly*
