Dean had a fairly good idea about what Sam's intentions had been when he'd insisted upon staying and helping Aiden crack Garth's phone- while he and the girls would track down the whole dumpster situation(which had been cleared exactly four hours before they'd arrived). The selfish bastard didn't want to get his hands dirty! Literally. After two hours of digging through waste of what seemed like the entire city's rubbish- all they'd found was an ID, a wallet and some sort of a hex bag. It didn't look like anything he'd seen before.

The real question was, what was Garth hunting? They'd thought it was a tulpa, but the warehouse had been burned to the ground. There was no way it would've survived. Therefore, no tulpa. And now this hex bag. Witch in the town? But there were no general signs and symptoms of dark magic around here- at least any official records suggestive of hoodoo trouble. Sam had found nothing but one lead.

Apparently, the killings of the three victims at the warehouse, were nowhere on the PD database. No record- or the true record- was to be found. They'd even altered a few details. But Garth had pretty much narrowed most of it down. No way could he have done that without talking to the police first. After unsuccessfully dropping the girls off to the motel- after a heavily heated but fun, debate- they reached the PD, parking two blocks away.

"Remember, I'll come inside five minutes after you. In there, you don't know me and I don't know you. Do your charming girl act, ask about Garth and get out. Don't acknowledge me. Only I will be asking about the warehouse, got it Krissy? Don't be over smart. In there, all you are is a worried sister looking for her missing brother and I am an agent who has been assigned a case that doesn't smell quite right. If this is some political crap and somebody's covering for somebody, like Sam says, you kids don't need your names on anyone's list. Try being as innocent as possible. Please."

"Got it." Josephine and Krissy agreed.

His FBI badge, and well the general expression of 'Don't screw with me', evoked some serious flirting with the lady cop who offered to make him a 'virgin' pinacolada later in the evening. Even as he was talking to the officer who'd been in charge of the report, he kept a close eye on the girls. They were doing a good job, as far as he could tell. Hopefully, they'd be able to find some information about Garth's whereabouts, filling some potholes in their equivalent to empty timeline. And hopefully, everything would go smoothly.

"So Officer, you're telling me, that even though the bite marks on the three victims are not identical-according to the autopsy, you still think the killings are connected to one another? "

"Yes, sir. I do. One was bit to death-as in left to bleed- at his carotid, and the other two were eaten to death- as in flesh off the bone. It's clearly an animal attack. The poor beast must have attacked as self defense the first time-that's why the farmer's flesh was intact."

Dean considered this for a moment. Did Garth have it wrong? Or was there another supernatural creature to be taken into consideration- werewolf? What the hell? Dean clenched his jaw.

"Officer, why weren't these killings mentioned on the database? Your report is careless and some documents seem to be missing. Is there anything you want to say to me, Officer?" Dean asked him, glaring now.

"Uhh...like I said, these were just animal attacks. But I apologise for the lethargy in my paperwork. I'll take care of it immediately." He gulped, hard.

Flipping through the entire report- waiting for the girls to leave- Dean observed the Officer the whole time- who seemed to be sweating bullets right now- causing Dean to smirk.

Until right before leaving, he said to the Officer, " It's too bad about Senator Bills' warehouse, isn't it?"

The officer coughed, spitting coffee everywhere.

Next stop- Senator Bills.
