We sit in silence for a bit and ponder our current thoughts. The thought that our loved ones were still always on our mind and no matter how much we loved each other, we still loved the ones that left us most.
"Our love..." I whisper
"Is just good business," he sighs; kissing my forehead, " I love you Katniss."
I smile and hold his broken gaze, "What day is it?"
"Tuesday, you've been out for a few days. The opening of the games is tonight. Lucky for you," he pokes my nose playfully, "You got out of a few days work." My body hurts but not like from when I was last awake. "The prep team was planning on dressing us in a few, glad you woke up so I wouldn't have to see another dreadful year alone."
I smiled and he carried me out of the room to get ready, his grip on me felt safe and secure. I closed my eyes and allowed my mind to wander for a few minutes while he carried me down the hall. I feel a plot on a soft cushion and open my eyes to see I am now in the makeup chair. I hear Cinna's voice curl up in front of me, "You are going to burn so bright tonight." I nodd and allow myself to make me up from head to toe, picturing it is Cinna doing it. The brushes on my face tickle and I break a small giggle. Cinna picks up a jar and pours some dust on his hand; blowing the shimmery red dust on my face.
He picks me up and wanders to the walls of dresses, "wait here." I stand in perfect stance watching his eyes light up as his fingertips raze the dresses. He picks a shimmery dress my way with a matching lace lingerie set. He hands me the pairs of clothing and I slip them on, analyzing myself in the mirrors along the walls. The dress was a fiery, shimmery, jem encrusted dress. It hugged my curves and looked as if it glowed in the light. The dress was actually quite beautiful, it actually was in fact glowing in the light. The light set of embers in the dress, "Oh, Falvis it is beautiful."
"Of course you are, girl on fire." He kisses my cheek and motions me to the hallway, Finn was waiting against the wall and the sight of me made his lips curl and twist in delight,
"Oh you look ravishing, love." he kissed my hand and helped me into the elevator. Inside was the same Porcelain Asian doll, "once you get to floor level, you will walk down the path into the arch way, you won't miss it." How does she know? This is a big place and we have to look for an arch on a path? I take a deep breath and look into Finn's eyes. The door opens and we stare out to a crowd of cheering fans, in the center is a thin path,
"Oh... I see the pathway," Finnick laughed. We step out of the elevator and chrismatically walking with the grace of a champion. We waved to the mounds of ecstatic fans as we, the sight of us made them go crazy. They threw hats, flowers, and lust; we caught some of them with a gracefully smile and flick of the wrist. Our outfits shimmered with each step, Finnick wore a jem, encrusted suit the colors of the sea. We neared the end of the lines of people and arrived to an impressive gold arch. The archway lead us into a seated area behind President Snow, in the top where you can see the horses draw the tributes down the road toward us. This is the worst view... I do not want to see all the faces of these children who will die.
I sit next to Finnick, head on his shoulder, waiting for the ceremony to get on the road. We sigh and see the lights start to dim, they annouce the tributes' districts moving down the lane. More nameless faces... Cato's sister and some young boy... Another set of nameless faces... And...No. it can't be. Finnick and I stand up in horror seeing the final parade of people glow dimly like a ghost.
All of our loved ones lined up as a part of the Games, "No!" I cried, "Prim! Gale! Prim! Peeta! Prim" it was a mix of pain and fear, i couldnt do anything but scream and cry in a acidic rage.
Finn mimiced, screaming in a desperate attempt to be heard, "Brothers! Jake! Nathan! Nathan..." He cried alot louder and reached toward the air, "Annie! No Annie!"
We could not control our voices or tears, the hall felt silent but we remained at full volume; in unison we cried in another desperate attempt looking at our love ones staring back at us from below, "Please take me instead! Please, I volunteer! Please!"
It was like a horrible dream. And I was begging that this was the punchline.
Hey guys! I hope you liked it, I got some plans coming up, sorry ahead of time if I kill off people and cause feels.
