After three weeks of being on a ship, Zuko and Katara arrived in Yu Dao. They entered the building for the meeting. Everyone had already arrived. Sokka saved the seat next to him, which Katara took. Aang sat on the other side of Sokka, while Zuko sat at the end next to Aang.
The professor the Earth King asked began his lecture.
After awhile of his lecture, Sokka said to Aang, "Tell me again, how exactly is boring lecture guy supposed to he help us figure out what to do with Yu Dao?"*
"Hes an expert on ancient Earth Kingdom theories of government. The Earth King thinks we should draw on the wisdom of the past to build a society of the future," Aang told Sokka.*
"Even if the past bores me out of my skull?" Sokka asked.*
"Yeah, I agree. We need a new way of seeing the four nations, not-" Aang replied.*
"Can you two keep it down, please? Some of us are trying to listen!" Katara interupted.*
"Sorry, Katara!" Aang replied.* Aang felt sorry not only for being loud, but let it pass.
"Surprise, surprise, my sister likes boring lecture guy," said Sokka.*
Katara pulled some water from her cup and turned it into a snowball that hit Sokka in the face. Aang covered his mouth to keep from laughing out loud. Meanwhile, Zuko was listening to the professor.*
When the professor mentioned the word family, it got Zuko's full attention. He asked, "Professor, can you repeat that last part?"*
The professor sighed and said, "A teenager is a teenager, apparently, even if he's a head of state." Then he continued, "I was explaining, Fire Lord Zuko, an ancient Earth Kingdom philosophy: Family is in essence a small nation, and the nation a large family. Do you understand?" The professor paused then said, "In treating his own family with dignity, a ruler learns to govern his nation with dignity."*
Zuko's expression changed to that of shock.*
Aang asked Zuko, "Are you alright Zuko?"*
"Have you been listening to him?" Zuko asked Aang.*
"I've been trying, but all I'm getting is BLAH, BLAH, BLAH," Aang replied.*
"I put my father in a prison and my sister in an institution. My mother's been banished for years. What does that mean for my nation?" Zuko thought out loud.*
"Zuko, that's not what-" Aang started to explain.*
Sokka interrupted and said, "That guy's a blowhard! Only people like Katara are taking him seriously."*
Katara waterbent another snowball at Sokka.*
"I'm going back to the Fire Nation. I want to arrange a meeting between my father and sister," said Zuko.
"I'll go with you," said Katara.
"No, I don't think that's a good idea, besides, Suki and Ty Lee will be there," said Zuko
"Okay," said Katara reluctantly.
"Once I have found out something I will contact you," said Zuko.
"I'd still feel better if I was there, but I guess I won't have to worry if Ty Lee is there," said Katara.
Stay tuned...
