CHAPTER NINTY-SEVEN
Number One on the List
VICTOR CREED/SABRETOOTH THE BUS DRIVER
When his prey vanished into thin air, the Sabretooth let out a huge roar that shook the entire bus and lashed out, ripping into the bus seats like warm butter and sending stuffing everywhere. Another bench-seat he simply pulled free from its metal anchoring and sent it flying down the aisle to crash through the window shield, making the terrified driver slam on the brakes and huddle into a little ball.
The feral stalked down the aisle to the shaking bus driver and grabbed the man by the throat. Though he was hugely overweight, Victor had no trouble hoisting the man into the air where he clutched at Victors hands and kicked feebly.
"WHERE DID THEY GO!?" he roared into the drivers face.
The man struggled for air. "I…..I d-don't…..know…..Honest….."
Victor sniffed the air around the man, scenting for the evidence of lies and found none, but that didn't mean he was done with him yet.
"WHERE WAS THIS BUS HEADING!?"
"H-Hydes Park."
Victor snarled. He had no idea where this Hydes Park was, but the bus driver obviously knew. Der Schatler leaned in close to the pudgy mans face, inhaling his fear like some fine vintage of wine. "Now listen up, chubby. Yer gonna take me to Hydes Park…..NOW!" the last word was a roar and the bus driver flinched, closing his eyes tight.
"B-but you broke my b-bus."
The Sabretooth rolled his eyes. "So? The engine's not affected, is it? NOW GO OR I'LL RIP OUT YER GUTS AN' USE'EM TA LACE MY MOCASSINS!" and with that he physically threw the man into the drivers seat.

WOLVERINE/LOGAN CLARISSE/CASSIE/RODDY/ROGUE/JONESY/JUBILEE
Some instinct he didn't quite understand made Logan settle his 'pack' into the observation area of the Danger Room where a few blankets and pillows remained from their last venture. He settled Clarisse, Roddy, Jonesy, his mate and his brothers mate into the blankets then looked through the viewing glass down to where Jubilee stood.
The firecracker almost appeared ready to pee herself, but made herself stand tall. Logan didn't know whether to be pissed or proud.
The Danger Room was pretty much destroyed from his brothers -`my alphas`-display of strength to the Avengers, but there was still room to run laps.
Logan pressed the intercom button and growled out; "Alright, Jubilation Lee-" he could see the self-proclaimed mall rat gulp. "Start runnin'."
The young woman blinked up towards her mentor. "How long?"
"Till I tell ya ta stop!" Logan barked. "NOW GET MOVE'N!"
He gave a snort when Jubilee obeyed and began to run (although she had to improvise to jump over a few broken pieces of machinery. As far as Logan was concerned, it could serve as an obstacle course.)
`Now that that's done…..` Logan thought, taking a seat and settling Jonesy in his lap. The Wolverine then removed 'The List' from his front pocket, pausing every now and then to make sure his big-mouthed pack member was still running. Quietly, he read item number one off of the accursed piece of paper.
1.) REPLACE ALL GLASS WINDOWS AND DOORS WITH
BULLET-PROOF GLASS
Call this number, Jimmy;
556-2310
It's a contact of mine. Tell'em ya need the
'Creed Spcial' for Xaviers school. Make it a
rush order, they'll know how to get payment.
Feeling very much like he was about to make a deal with a mob boss (who knew, maybe he was) Logan dialed the number and held the phone to his ear.
A very delicate and surprisingly feminine voice answered on the third ring. "Hello, this is Astor Enterprizes, how may I help you?"
Logan felt his jaw drop.
Astor Enterprizes was the most expensive and exclusive security service that he knew of. They were so top notch that they dealt with the Pentagon and even Nick Fury. (At that thought Logan paused; maybe they were losing their touch since the infinity serum had been stolen.)
"Hello?"
Logan snapped out of his daze and cleared his throat. "Heah. I need the Creed Special for Xaviers School for Gifted Youngsters at 1407 Greymalkin Lane, Salem Center in Westchester County New York."
He could almost sense the woman on the other end snap to attention at the words 'Creed Special'.
"Of course, sir. How many windows and doors are there?"
The Wolverine gritted his teeth. There was NO way he was going to go around and count all the windows and doors on this monstrosity of a building. "A shi-ahem-I mean a lot." He just barely checked his language, remembering his sleeping cub in his lap. Marie would rip him a new one if Jonesy started copying his more…..colorful vocabulary.
The woman didn't seem too bothered by his lack of information and surliness. Maybe she had dealt with his brother before. (Poor woman.)
"Very well, sir. A team will be sent out shortly to survey the area. Will this be the usual method of payment?"
Logan checked to make sure his wayward cub (Jubilee) was still running. "Uh…..yeah." Heck if he knew what the 'usual method of payment' was.
"Very well. Will that be all sir?"
"Yeah." Logan finished, turning in his chair to check on the rest of his immediate pack. "And make it snappy." He flipped the phone shut and looked at the paper again.
Well, that was one down.

AN: For the next chapter, I'm going to need all my wits about me and it's midnight now and my brain is fuzz. I was going to write more here but, like I said, I need more brain power. Sweet dreams folks.
