Chapter 7:

I couldn't believe it, I wanted to pretend it was just a sick joke like when the wolf-man bit my hand off. But reality was hitting me hard.

"Why…" I asked as I rose from my seat. "Why did you kill him?" I growled as my hands began to shake, I tried my best to keep my emotions in check but I knew I was failing.

Joseph didn't even bother answering my questions and quickly waved them aside. "All you mutts are all the same, always putting your trust in the wrong people. Your father did the same, but he caught on a lot quicker than you."

"W-what?"

"Don't tell me you didn't know? Your mother served under one of my kind. If your father didn't catch on to our plan after you were born this would of been a lot different. But instead the fool killed your mother and ran away with you." He sneered as he picked Alex's body up.

What? I don't understand. I wanted answers, but before I could speak the man looked me dead in the eye as he sunk his teeth into my friend's neck and he…he…drank his blood.

Panic took over me in a matter of seconds as I watched, this man was insane. Not being able to handle it any more I did the smartest thing I ever done in my life…I ran. I didn't want to believe any of it. It was all a lie. I was ready to go into denial. This was just a dream, it had to be. My mother was human, she died in a car accident shortly after I was born. Right? That's what my father said, so it had to be true. Just as I was about to make it to the door, something roughly grabbed my arm. "Now, now little prophecy. I can't have you running away from me. Not after I spend years searching for you."

"Let me go you purple freak." I yelled as I tried punching him with my free hand, but he simply grabbed that one as well.

"Prophecy?" A voice chipped in.

"Do not play dumb vampire, you fully well know this is the prophecy. The first monster born from a human and werewolf."

"Hibernius is he correct?" The vampire asked as he turned toward the taller man.

I struggled for my life as I tried to pull away from the freaks freakishly strong grip and all these fuckers were doing is having a nice conversation. Like really guys? Seriously?

I was about to yell at them for help but before I could, Mr. tall spoke; "I am afraid so, but things are not playing out to be as I foresaw them. She was not supposed to be brought in to this so soon. How did you know where she was?" I could sense a hit of anger in his voice and…sadness?

"Getting over protective there Hibernius?" The vampaneze snickered. "I know you been watching after her for some time now. But to answer your question, let's say…it was destiny."

Mr. Tall facial feature changed, they grew scarier than anything I have seen in my life. But changed back just as quickly as it came as I felt something warm and wet hit my face. Looking toward the purple man I saw a hand sticking out of his chest. "W-what?" The man stuttered as he looked down on to his chest. It didn't take long before Joseph's released my hands and covered his chest in a pitiful attempt to stop himself from bleeding out. "Do realize…what you d-done?"

Ignoring the man's question the performer looked at the cirque owner. "Hibernius we should move quickly if we wish to depart this town before the police arrive. Surly someone has reported the child death by now."

"Of course, but we need to take care of this first before others find him." The taller man said as he look at the dying vampaneze.

"I'll take care of him…and her." Larten said as he shifted his eyes over me.

Feeling his gaze on me, I quickly turned around. "If it's cool with you two, I'm just going to-" before I could finish my sentence the performer was in front of me and open his mouth, a few seconds later he breathed out a foggy looking gas on me. I started coughing almost instantly as it filled my nose, trying my best I reached into my pocket and grabbed something. I tried holding it out but I soon hit the ground. Curious to what it was, Mr. Crepsley crouched down and opened my hand, looking at the tic tacs confused he turned to Mr. Tall who couldn't help but chuckle.
