Zuko and Katara exchanged letters during their separation.

Zuko,

The election is over. Two members of the Fire Nation and two members of the Earth Kingdom will act as representatives for Yu Dao. Toph doubts the system will work, but Aang is optimistic about it.

Toph said that her metalbending school is doing well. They have had to resort to building earth tents. Sokka suggested charging tuition, but Toph was adamant about not doing it.

The Air Acolytes were at the Yu Dao and are going to celebrate Yangchen's festival tomorrow. Xing Ying will be there. I don't know if I told you, but she is the airbender. Things were a little awkward, but she said she wants to be friends. I don't know if I can do it.

How are things going with you? How is Ursa? Is Kiyi okay? I'm sure that was quiet a shock for her.

Hope all is well,

Katara

Katara,

I'm glad to hear both sides are being represented equally at Yu Dao.

It's good that Toph's school is doing so well.

I'm sure you and Xing Ying will become friends. You just have to give it time.

Ikemi supported my mother, and he's worried about her, but I'll be there to protect her.

Kiyi is still adjusting to my mother's face. I told my mom she just needs time.

All is well with me.

Zuko

Zuko,

I agree that Kiyi will need time. Once she gets a little older, Ursa can explain things to her.

We participated in Yangchen's festival. We bowed to a statue of Tienhai. Toph didn't bow because Aang didn't really justify why we needed to bow the the statue. I think that started a rift between them. We were going to go to a meadow afterwards, but the Earthen Fire Refinery was built over it.

I met Niyok and Nutha again. I knew them from the Southern Water Tribe. Nutha wasn't happy to see me, but we made up later.

We found out the refinery was causing pollution. Aang thought it was why Avatar Yangchen was trying to contact him. He thought it would be a good idea to discuss it with the overseer of the refinery. We met Satoru, who runs the refinery under his uncle Loban. I think Toph developed feelings for him. Toph and Aang had a fight about what was causing the pollution and if the refinery should move or not. Toph and Aang made up afterwards. Toph's father showed up. She tried to work things out with her father instead of participating in the festival.

Loban was mining iron that was a spirit's armor. I was trapped down there with Toph, her dad, Vachir, Nutha, and a few of the workers. Toph and her metalbending students saved us.

Unfortunately, Toph and Aang fought over the refinery. The spirit came, and they had to fight it.

Aang managed to reconnect with his past lives and accept that the past and future are connected. He also talked to Tienhai. She was a spirit who would take human form. She fell in love with a prince and gave up her immortality to be with him. She told Aang spirits don't die they take on new forms. It inspired Aang to create a Spirits' Friendship Festival, but he's planning on having that in a few months.

Satoru said something about a New Ozai Society. He said his parents were followers and that's why he ran away. Have you heard anything about this society? Aang seemed concerned when I talked to him about it.

Katara

Zuko,

When I didn't hear from you, I got worried. I talked to Aang again. He said he's on his way to make sure you get back safely. I won't be with him.

My grandmother is ill, and Master Pakku sent a message for me. I will be going home for a while.

I hope things work out.

Katara

Katara,

Aang helped me escort my mother back to the Fire Nation. The New Ozai Society is something Mai's father and other people who still support my father created. When we arrived. Mai was there to tell me about it. She even helped when we were attacked. Ty Lee was there, too. After the attack, we worked through some of the issues we had, but we have both moved on.

Zuko

Zuko,

I've been home for a while. I'd almost forgotten how cold it gets here.

Gran Gran is not doing very well, but she is better than when I first arrived.

I'm glad that you and Mai were able to work through your issues. I still haven't really faced Aang and told him how I felt. I finally feel like I'm moving on.

Katara

Stay tuned...

AN: I hope you enjoyed. I thought this would be more interesting.
