last time...

Hank shifted a little on his feet. "I believe only Fury can initiate the call through the com-links as a security measurements. Once he does the first call, the Avengers can respond, but only then. And, yes, I think I know of someone who can shut down the com-links." Hank looked pointedly at the young boy sleeping in Logans arms and the Wolverine automatically drew the boy closer to him.

"What-Jonesy!?"

-present-

Hank looked at his fellow feral drily. "Honestly, Logan, I'm not going to ask you to offer up the boy as a mortal sacrifice."

The Canadian Feral only let half of a sheepish grin come through before he gave a low, warning growl. Jonesy was HIS cub, under HIS protection and NO-ONE was going to use the kid on his watch.

It was only when Hank turned his head to the side, offering up his vulnerable jugular to his higher-up that Logan even realized he had been growling and just managed to choke it off. "*cough* Geez, sorry about that, Blue."

"Quite understandable." Hank said calmly. "I believe our Alpha, or should I say 'Victor', has been bringing all of our feral attributes to the fore. You see Jonesy as yours and under your care so it is natural that you are protective.

However, I was not suggesting anything harmful to the boy, Logan. What do you know of Jonesys mutation?"

Logan was quiet for a moment then let out a low growl as he realized just how little he knew about his own cubs mutation. "He turns lights on and off."

"It's not just that, Logan. It's more like his mutation intercepts paths of electricity. In this situation, it's possible he could intercept the electric relays in the Avengers com-links, preventing Furys calls from ever getting through."

Logan looked at his sleeping cub in his lap. "You think he can do that?"

Hank shrugged. "We won't know until he tries. I'd say it's worth a shot at the moment. "

"And you're sure there's no way this could hurt him?" The Wolverine demanded. If there was even the tiniest chance that his cub could be hurt, Jonesy wasn't gonna do it, no way no how.

"I believe there could be only three (3) possible outcomes to this." Beast said placatingly. "Either it doesn't work, it does, or he accidentally sends all the electronic devices in the med-lab on the fritz, in which case we'll order new ones." The blue-furred scientist shrugged.

"Alright, we'll give it a shot." Logan conceded. "But I sense even a whiff of pain from the kid and the experiment's off."

Hank nodded. "I would expect no less." the scientist then jumped a little when the Wolverine shot a growl towardsthe two sisters behind Hank.

"And just WHAT are you two whisper'in about back there!?"

DURING THE CONVERSATION BETWEEN HANK AND LOGAN

BUNNY/ CASSIE

"What's up, Cat?" the Native American asked curiously, arching one eyebrow in what Cassie called her ' The Rock' look.

Cassie drew her onee-san down onto the floor next to her, whispering as low as she could. "Okay, Bun, get me out."

Bunny put a hand ontop of her sisters comfortingly. "Are you sure that's what you want, Cat?"

Cassie glared at her. "You said you'd get me out, right? Well, I want out. Not permanently-" she shot a careful glance to where Logan and Hank were still talking. " Just enough time to get my thoughts together, make sure I don't lose my job."

Bunny gave her a devilish smirk. "Heah, you know I'm all for taking down Mr. Fuzzybutt, but when you say 'not permanently' that means you're definately going to come back?"

Cassie squirmed where she sat. "Maybe...probably...I don't know! Are you gonna get me out or what, Bun!?"

"Okay, okay Cat, calm down. Now listen. Depending on what happens next..."

Bunny only had a little time to whisper out her plan before Logan interrupted.

"And just WHAT are you two whisper'in about back there!?"
