As a mutant with omega level power to influence everyone around him Charles Xavier has always done best to keep his temper. Even as a child he was never prone to tantrums or anger. Which was a damn good thing being the most powerful telepath on the planet. For the first time in a long time, Charles Xavier was seething in anger, shock, and disgust. Part of his anger was caused by the surprise and shock, because as a telepath he was rarely surprised. Frankly it vexed him how an inappropriate relationship could go on for a little over half a year with him completely unaware.

Of course Erik was skilled in the field of blocking telepaths, he had been for over forty years, but Rogue! Rogue for the love of god was a child, a student, how in the name of all that is holy did she manage to block him? The answer was so simple it was nearly impossible to spot. The psyches. The ones that were still running free in her mind. They had created a barrier like fog around her mind.

How they had manage to keep this obscene relationship from him didn't matter now though. No, the main problem at hand was going to be putting a stop to it. He could still hardly believe it. His oldest friend and most wayward, dangerous student.

Seething, Charles Xavier waited in a hanger bay for Magneto. Xavier informed Nightcrawler that the danger had passed and ordered him to teleport himself and Cannonball back into the ship. Once doing that they where to report to the medical bay.

Xavier tapped the controls on his wheel chair lightly. It was very rarely that he was impatient.

Finally the doors opened and his old friend floated in. Upon taking off his helmet Magneto could tell there was most definitely something wrong.

"Charles?" He asked. "What on Earth is the matter? And why is it being directed at me?"

Xavier took a deep breath before he began. Now was not the time to unleash his anger.

"Sinister and the Shi'ar are here. They have come to discuss and important mistake. Apocalypse was cloned by the Shi'ar empire. The clone is a boy with no memory of his counterpart's life and has not reached puberty yet."

Magneto was vaguely surprised. "And the problem I take it is discovering what to do with this boy clone."

"Correct." Xavier hissed. "But that is not the reason I am down here speaking to you."

"No? Has something else occurred?"

"Yes. As a matter of fact, it has been brought to my attention that a highly improper relationship has been going on under my very nose."

Now was the time for anger.

There where so many things Magneto could reply with. For now though, best to be neutral about it. "Yes. For quite a while a while now."

Xavier's eyes lowered in anger. "You don't deny it."

Magneto held his head high. "Of course not. My relationship with Rogue isn't something I would ever deny."

The lack of emotion Magneto was displaying only caused more anger in Xavier. "How can you possibly admit this so shamelessly?" He demanded. "You and Rogue both!"

"I should hope Rogue isn't ashamed, that's not a expression I've ever seen her bear. Why should we be ashamed Charles?"

Xavier didn't know whether to be appalled or infuriated by Magneto's lack of understanding, surely he could not be that obtuse.

"You know why! You cannot be so dense to see that you started a lewd relationship with an under-aged student!"

Now it was Magneto's turn to have sparks of anger flare up. "She is not the child you wish her to be Charles, surely you cannot be so dense to deny that. And do not refer to my relationship as "lewd", that is not, nor will it ever be, what it is."

Xavier's mouth was pressed. He couldn't deny Rogue's mind was hardly that of a child's, but she was still seventeen when this started. Still under-aged.

"Then how else should I describe this relationship between the two of you? Immortal? Profane? Filthy?"

Magneto's jaw clenched in anger. "Be careful how you speak. Refrain from referring to my relationship in an offensive manner. There is nothing profane about what Rogue and I have done."

"I disagree!" Xavier objected.

"Disagree all you please. Do not voice your unwanted opinion."

"It is not opinion it is fact. You corrupted Rogue!"

"Her mind was corrupt long before I took her."

"I wasn't referring to her mind!"

"Do you claim all young adults that are sexually active are corrupt? Or is it just Rogue that is corrupt because it was I that was involved?"

"YES!" Xavier shouted. "I mean, no. That is now what I'm trying to say. You took from her, Erik!"

Magneto shook his head. "It was given Charles, not taken. And I have added to her life as well."

"Say what you want, you manipulated her!" Xavier accused as his voice rose. "And how could you have possibly added to her life? Other than giving her physical contact?"

"Do you have that little faith in her? Rogue, a guarded young woman would easily allow herself to be used? The one thing she despises more than anything!"

Xavier was left silent. He didn't know how to prove Magneto wrong, other than continuously accusing him of the same things he had, the crimes Xavier truly believed him guilty of.

Magneto took his silence as victory that he could argue nothing else. He turned to leave. "Old friend." He said as he stopped. "She is not completely corrupt, there is some innocence left in her mind."

"I have added to her life as much as she has added to mine." That was the last thing Magneto said to Xavier that day as he left to try and get sleep.

Early that morning Magneto set out to find Rogue. He was surprised, almost alarmed when she hadn't came to his room last night. Usually when she was frustrated she came to him, one of the few people who's company she enjoyed. Could she be avoiding him out of embarrassment? Could it be that she was embarrassed? Yes, that was quite possible.

Magneto set off to lower decks where the equipment was kept.

It was entirely plausible that she was embarrassed. The respected field leader of the X-Men who's business was announced in front of her teammates and the alien ambassador. Where she was undoubtedly chastised and questioned by Charles. Or it was simply the fact that it was him she was caught involved with. A former super-villain that was humiliated by Apocalypse.

Magneto tried to clear his head of such paranoia as he reached the lower deck, this was where the gym equipment was.

As expected there Rogue was, kicking the punching bad. Magneto observed as she kicked with slight more force than necessary. She seemed angry, or frustrated. Probably both, he had heard all about her defending the cloned boy. Pride swelled in him as he wished he could have been there. She was shaping up into a leader after all. Defending a weaker mutant that was being singled out by angry aliens. Magneto watched with interest as she punched the bad again. Yes she was definitely angry. Now was the time to approach her.

"It seems to me you need some tension released."

Rogue aimed a kick to Magneto's side as she rolled away from his reach. He swatted at her as he clenched his side. She was wearing a smirk that was similar to his. Oddly similar, too similar. Damn it was no wonder he was never fast enough to grab her, she had him fresh in her mind she could predict his movements very accurately. How much of him had she absorbed?

He cursed to himself as she once again evaded his grasp. It was no use. If he wanted to beat her in the next few minutes he was going to half to try a different tactic.

Magneto moved to put her in a headlock, a move he knew she could see from a mile away. He was counting on that.

Rogue did in fact see it coming and rolled again before making an attempt at at kicking. Magneto moved as soon as she rolled, grabbing her foot. He swung and threw her across the room, where she landed on the mat. Rogue coughed as the wind was knocked out of her. That gave Magneto the opportunity he needed to pin her down.

Rogue was hissing angrily as she thrashed.

It was no use. Even with Magneto's superhuman advanced strength she could budge.

"I win." Magneto announced.

Rogue huffed as she tried to kick laying face down. That was useless. Angrily she called out to the metal weights at the corner of the room and launched one at Magneto's head. He caught it just in time with his mind, still having a firm grip on Rogue.

"Well that wasn't very nice was it?" He asked, clearly amused. He went on. "In fact, one might define that as cheating." Rogue started hissing. "Or attempting to at any rate."

"Rematch." Rogue demanded. She had most defiantly absorbed his hostile personality.

Magneto he flipped her onto her back to get a good look at her face. He arched his eyebrow at her. "Well your not usually this aggressive or demanding, you absorbed quite a bit of me didn't you? Oh, well it won't matter. Perhaps I'll give you a rematch, proving of course you ask politely."

He couldn't be sure but he was almost certain she had snarled. Her face was masked with anger. He did love seeing the fierce look in her eye.

'This is precious.' He thought arrogantly.

Magneto's smirk wasn't helping anything. He secured both her hands over her head with one of his hands and used the other to brush some loose hair out of her face. He didn't stop there. Magneto ran his gloved finger down the side of Rogue's face and traced along her lower lip.

"You are rather adorable when your furious." He commented.

Rogue glared. "You're easily amused."

Magneto continued to smirk. "Only because you make it so terribly easy Anna, love."

Magneto pulled her to her feet and let go of her wrists. "Unfortunately we have no time for a rematch, the meeting regarding Genesis is in thirty minutes. Perhaps after though something could be arranged."

Magneto moved to kiss her the top of her head. He knew Rogue enjoyed that. Rogue swatted him away angrily after his chase kiss. Magneto shook his head as he watched her trying to be angry with him.

"It's infuriating." Rogue said.

"What is, Anna?"

Rogue was scowling. "How easily you can rile me up and calm me down less than a minute later."

Magneto tangled his hands through her hair. "Only returning the favor. You've done it to me on multiple occasions. There's that, and once I'd angered you I had hoped of pointing you in the galactic ambassador's direction."

Rogue grinned. "I would like that." She commented.

"I thought you would." Magneto said as he untangled his hand from her hair.

"Anna, in the meeting, I want you to know I support you fully on the matter of Genesis. While it is likely he will be powerful, he is a mutant, and under our protection. As long as the memories of Apocalypse stay out of his mind and he makes no violent move on other mutants you and I both will see to it that he won't be persecuted by the Shi'ar."

Rogue's anger faded slightly. She nodded. "Thank you for your support." She gave him a light peck on the cheek before heading out the door. "I'm going to shower, see you in thirty minutes."

Rogue was suited up in her X-Men uniform and on her way to the meeting now. Upon entering she was met with the steely gaze of Charles Xavier. Annoyance flickered through Rogue's eyes briefly as the freshened psych of Magneto found a way to show through. It was almost the exact same expression Magneto had when being lectured by his friend. Xavier's eyes widened as he recognized the look he had seen many times. Rogue winced as she realized what she was doing and mentally winced as she tried to get rid of the expression before the Professor realized that she had absorbed Magneto this morning. what it meant. Too late. Xavier looked angry now.

Magneto watched from his side of the table, across from Charles and the Ambassador. He chuckled inwardly to himself. Rogue got rid of his expression and took her seat next to Dr. Moira MacTaggart. Nick Fury and Sinister arrived a few minutes later and the meeting started.

"I spoke to her Imperial Highness Lilandra this morning and we have both agreed to stand our ground regarding the cloned boy. We made a serious mistake and we will correct it by eliminating him." The ambassador informed everyone.

Magneto observed the reactions of everyone carefully. Moira didn't look surprised, a bit disappointed, but not surprised. Sinister looked rather hopeful, he was undoubtedly hoping the boy would live so he could kidnap him. Fury's face was a mask as always. Charles was also difficult to read, but if Magneto had to pick a word describing Xavier it would be worried. Not for the boy, but worried for disagreement between the Shi'ar.

He could read Rogue like a book though. Angry and not surprised, as he would expect her to be. Magneto could sense she was picking her words carefully despite her anger.

"I won't withdraw my protection." Rogue said to the ambassador.

The ambassador sighed. "Well that is certainly unfortunate, thus we find ourselves in a disagreement. We will kill the boy."

"You would be riskin' your own lives." Rogue said.

the ambassador looked slightly alarmed. "Is that a threat young lady?"

"No, it's a fact. I won't stand by and watch. He is under my protection. As I said yesterday I will kill to protect those under my protection, if it comes to that."

Xavier spoke up quickly as he glared at Rogue. "Although we are hoping it will not."

"Yes, we are all hoping to avoid conflict." The ambassador paused. "Though I would like to hear your position on this matter Xavier."

Xavier sighed as he chose his words with slow deliberation. "I don't believe in killing this boy out of fear or discrimination. If it comes to a fight, I will send my X-Men to defend his person in any way possible."

"You stand with the girl then." The alien accused.

"No." Xavier said. "I will not have any of the X-Men attack or harm the Shi'ar empire in any way, just to defend against it."

The ambassador looked rather angry. "Call it what you will, it will make you an enemy." He turned to Fury. "Director, where will you stand should a fight erupt?"

Fury cleared his throat as he took out his tooth pick. "I am hoping to find a peaceful resolution. although the chanced of that get slimmer every moment." He stopped to look at Xavier. "I'm not going to deny letting you kill this boy would take a big weight off my shoulders...but as head of S.H.E.I.L.D I will be damned the day I let aliens come to this planet and murder citizens, especially innocent ones."

"Fool." The ambassador hissed. He turned angrily to Rogue. "Why are you doing this?" He demanded. "Do you not believe in the sacrifice of one life for many?"

Rogue held her head up. "I have the power to defend mutants weaker than myself, why kind of a person would I be if I didn't do this?"

"A smart one." The alien retorted. "Or perhaps your letting your emotions cloud your judgement. That is very unbecoming of a leader. You aren't identifying with the boy are you?"

Rogue looked surprised. "Why would I-

"Because there are so many similarities." The ambassador cut her off. "A powerful young mutant being singled out by outside forces. Similar to you. A mutant that is without a doubt going to be feared by even the most powerful and wise fellow mutants." the ambassador briefly glanced at Xavier.

"The boy will be feared and avoided by his own people. Exactly like you."

Rogue shook her head in disbelief. "No. That's not why I defend him." Though she didn't sound certain.

The ambassador leaned closer. "Are you sure? Perhaps that was the reason all along, you just didn't realize it."

Magneto stiffed the urge to jump to Rogue's defense. He wanted to badly teach the alien respect, though he knew it was a bad idea. While he didn't care if it put him on bad terms with the Shi'ar, Rogue wouldn't like it. She was so independent, that was something Magneto admired about her. Rogue was never willing to let someone else fight her battle, especially not her lover.

"This girl is not fit to be leader of the X-Men." The alien decided.

Rogue was shocked and outraged. "How dare you?!" She demanded. "You sickening barbaric descendant of space slug!"

That seemed to ignite anger in the alien as he stood up. "Me sickening? Your a filthy mutant whore that fancies-"

The ambassador didn't get to finish his insult as a silver shiny piece of metal wrapped around his throat tightly. Magneto's blood was boiling. How dare the alien filth call Anna a whore. The metal wrapped tighter as Magneto repeated the ambassador's words in his mind. 'Arrogant, galactic slime shall know pain!' Magneto thought as he concentrated harder on reversing the flow of the iron in the aliens blood.

"Rogue!" Professor Xavier sent a telepathic call to her. "Calm him down!" He commanded. Rogue was still in shock and made no move on her lover that was choking a galactic ambassador to death.

"Please, Rogue you have to stop Magneto! If he kills the ambassador it may ignite a war. Calm him down!" This time the call was more frantic and made Rogue jump to realization. Professor Xavier was right, she couldn't let Erik kill the alien.

With speed Rogue wasn't aware she had, she was soon by Erik's side and reached a hand on his shoulder. Magneto turned in rage. His glare softened when he realized it was only her.

"Erik, let go of him." Rogue said as her grip on his shoulder got firmer. "Please." She added. "I know you don't care about angering the Shi'ar. But please don't go spilling blood on my account. I don't want that."

Magneto's grip loosened lightly, but he still wasn't too motivated to let go. "It's okay, he's just a stupid, sore, alien that can't hold his tongue." Rogue coaxed. "It's okay."

Finally Magneto let go of his grip on the alien, who fell to the ground. Moira rushed over and started checking his vitals. Sinister and Fury didn't move. Magneto shook Rogue's hand off of his shoulder and stomped away angrily.

Rogue watched. She turned to the offending party that was choking on the ground.

With one quick movement Rogue swung her fist around to his nose. She head a cracking noise as the alien feel back to the ground unconscious.

"Rogue!" The Scottish doctor chastised.

Rogue ignored Moira as she headed for the door. She turned back to Xavier. She inhaled as she thought strongly. "I'm going to find Erik."

Xavier nodded as he established a telepathic connection. "While I don't like it, that's probobly what's best for the passengers of the ship." Xavier agreed. "Please, do find him before he causes harm to any innocent bystander."

Rogue nodded as she left. Halfway down the hall she received one more message before he ended the connection. "And no overnight visits."

"Whatever." Rogue said aloud. She was eighteen, who was going to stop her? Besides, that was if Erik let her stay that long. He was pretty pissed right now.

Erik wasn't in the gym, attacking a punching bag like Rogue hoped. He wasn't in the equipment lab either, fiddling away at some toy exploring the engineer side of him. When Rogue did find him he was in his private quarters on board the ship metal balls flying above him erratically.

Rogue knocked on the open door to announce her arrival. Magneto glanced over and said nothing.

Knowing full well that if fear was evident in her it would only sever to anger him more, Rogue walked confidently up to where he was laying with his head propped up against the headboard.

"Hey." She said. Magneto still didn't answer. "Ain't nice to ignore people." She informed him, making sure to add more of her accent and use incorrect grammar. She was surprised when his facial expression didn't change, much less try to correct her. That was worthy of Rogue's worry.

She sat on the edge of the bed and touched his nee lightly. Still no response.

"You know the silent treatment doesn't really seem like your style." Rogue climbed on top of him and swung her legs across his lap. He looked slightly annoyed. Rogue grinned in an attempt to lighten the mood.

"Look, Erik, babe I know that you're all fired up and all, but I was hoping you'd let me help you with that." Rogue said.

Magneto finally turned his attention to her fully. "And?" He asked.

"And?" Rogue repeated. God, what else did he want to hear? Was there something she was missing?

Rogue thought the incident over hard. He was angered by the alien's words, but there was something else when he shook her off. Was it resentment? Or was it anger?

'Unappreciative.' Rogue realized. 'Oh, god. He thinks I don't appreciate that he was willing to start war to defend my honor.' Rogue reached out to cup his cheek.

Memories where flashing before her. His early life. The wife he was once convinced that loved him. He saved her from the camps first, then pledged to protect her forever. He later married her. Everything he did in that time was for her. Erik gave her everything he had. Magda still didn't appreciate him in the end. She had ran from him when he needed her most. She took him for granted.

The feeling of pain in that moment was the same as the feeling he had a few minutes ago when Rogue stopped him from killing the alien.

'He thinks I take him for granted. This feeling he has...the pain, it reminds him of when Magda left him.'

"And you think I take you for granted." Rogue whispered angrily. "How?" She asked wordlessly.

"I've told you before that I appreciate you. Dammit Erik. I have you in my head I know what your thinking!" Rogue said. "Of course I appreciate you, Erik. I appreciate everything you've done for me. It's pointless to try and list everything you've done, we wouldn't get to the end before sundown."

Magneto's expression softened. As he took his hand and against her's pressed it harder against his cheek. Rogue got the message and laid flat out on him, wrapping an arm around the side of his stomach.

"I'm sorry if the pain has caused bad memories to resurface. That wasn't ever my intention." Rogue stopped and buried her face in his chest. "Dammit!" She cursed. Rogue looked back up at him as she kissed the metal armor of his chest. "I just wanted to stop you from igniting a war." She explained.

Magneto used one hand to tug her closer to him. "Please, just say it for me one more time." He requested. Rogue complied despite her irritation. "I don't and will never take you for granted." Rogue promised.

Magneto nodded. "Thank you."

They laid in silence for a few minutes. "Anna, I didn't mean to make it sound like I..."

Magneto stopped. He was having difficulty forming words, which was a first for him. "I know you only wanted to stop me from starting a war." He continued. "I just couldn't help the feeling of..

"It's okay." Rogue promised. "The feelings you sometimes get aren't your fault, you can't control them. I won't blame you for something you can't control."

"Thank you."

"Only returning the favor, sugar. You never seem to get too upset when I have my insecure moments."

Silence passed between them again. Rogue slipped off her glove slowly. She held it in front of his face for a moment, silently asking for permission. Magneto nodded.

Rogue took a few minutes worth of life force from him.

"You up for a little bonding activity?" She asked as she rotated one of the balls over to her. Rogue sat up slightly as she took it in between her hands and slowly melted it, braking it down particle by particle. Magneto was watching with interest.

"What do you have in mind?"

Rogue slowly formed purple and blue sparks. She was forming metallic molecules. "Feel like lending a hand?" Rogue asked. Magneto smiled lightly as he took her fingers and curved them around the molecules tighter. He sent force into the metal, feeling her will but not pressing against it. Magneto closed his eyes as he slowly separated them apart, piece by piece, showing Rogue what to do. She eventually got he hang of it and followed along. Shaping some to move around the two of them.

"Going to make this into a full-out lesson?" Rogue asked.

"Would you like me too?"

Rogue nodded, smiling.

"Then how could I deny such a request?" Magneto asked as he caused some of the blue sparks to fly into her hair, laughing when Rogue's smile went into irritation again.

Somehow Magneto knew that something had changed between him that day. Like they had been brought closer together. And maybe they had, he wasn't quite sure, and frankly was rusty at these "emotions". Magneto half considered asking Rogue her opinion, wanting to know if she had the same feeling...although he was quite unsure what it was.
