Magneto sat quietly in the Forrest, with Rogue sleeping in his lap. He looked down at her and observed her carefully. In her exhausted state she seemed much more calm than before, thankfully. At least the crying had stopped. He really, really hated to see her cry.

Looking toward the boxes Magneto listened for any psyches trying to break out. when he heard nothing he was not surprised. It was not like Rogue at all to do half-ass work that wouldn't hold. But in any case he should leave this area anyway. Carefully he wrapped an arm around her legs and her neck as he picked her up and started to walk in the direction of the only door he could see. The rest had been destroyed in the fight.

'How many memories and psyches must be locked up in order to escape from here?' Magneto thought as the forest dissipated from view behind him.

As he reached the door he tensed, prepared to kick it shut immediately if it was anyone he found annoying. He kicked the door and it opened easily. He found it be another passage leading up.

Hoping that up meant closer to Charles's range Magneto decided to take this passage, walking along the narrow flight of stairs, which seemed endless.

'I really must remind Anna to reform this part of her mind, should we ever have the misfortune to return here.' Magneto made a mental note to himself. Hopefully if she did ever come back here it would be of her own violation this time.

As Magneto soon realized walking up the stairs, time seemed to pass quickly here. He grimly wondered how much time had passed in the real world. A few days or a few weeks? He found it didn't matter to him. It would all be worth it when Rogue was safe.

As Magneto reached the top of the stairs he was alarmed to find no latch or entrance. Surely this staircase would not be here for no reason. Curiously Magneto kicked the nearest wall, wondering if it would cause harm to Rogue. When she did not stir in his arms he continued until a large crack, nearly six centimeters in length appeared. Light showed through the cracks.

Magneto kicked it harder until most of it was bent. Harder and harder he kicked at it until a few feet of it gave weigh.

Ducking under it Magneto emerged to find himself in a green field. It was a gentle one with wind blowing and the sun shining. A pleasant memory if he didn't know better.

The only thing that remained off was the constant beeping he heard.

Looking about Magneto saw nothing that could be causing it, there didn't seem to be any technology in the empty field. He noticed, as he listened closer, that the beeping was constant, once every three seconds.

In fact it reminded him strangely of a medical monitor, he had heard the sound many times after working in a hospital in Israel.

Or like the heart monitors in the medical wing, the same that were attached to Rogue.

Was it possible he was so close to the surface that the noises of the outside world would be heard, even through a memory? Assuming of course that's what this field was. If he was this close could Charles hear him by now?

Curious and hopeful Magneto walked to where he thought the beeping was the loudest, in the middle of the field underneath a giant oak tree.

Taking a moment to gather up his strength Magneto focused on his mind. If Charles was going to hear him he would need to be loud.

Years ago, before he had gone to the extreme with mutant rights, he had discovered he was capable of directional projecting. It was a rare gift and only existed between geniuses and people of high brain power or extremely powerful mutants, or telepaths. He knew for certain Rogue was capable of it. After all her experience fighting the psyches on a daily basis for years her brain power had doubled. She could in all honesty probably do it better than he could. Rogue explained it once to him that all she had to do was think loudly.

He found himself slightly envious of that.

When he thought he had concentrated enough he opened his mind and let down his psychic barriers.

'Charles? Charles are you out there?'

So focused on his thoughts Magneto did not notice when a cloud like hand reached down and grasped him and Rogue.

Blinking twice Magneto groaned as he was met by bright lights and more monitor beeping. This time though it seemed as though if were beeping directly into his ear. When Magneto managed to open his eyes without being blinded he came face to face with him one time rival and friend.

"Hello Erik, nice of you to finally wake up." Charles greeted him.

Magneto rubbed his forehead as he took him his surroundings.

This was defiantly the medical bay, and he was definitely laying down. He found it difficult to move his muscles as well.

"It will take some to time to adjust, and before you ask you've been unconscious for for 34 hours."

Magneto sat up, alarmed. "I was in there for days, close to a week."

Charles nodded. "Yes it certainly feels that way doesn't it? Being in the mind is an interesting experience."

"Rouge?" He asked.

Professor Xavier guested to the bed on his right. Rogue was staring at him, sleepy eyed and about to pass out, but she was awake.

"Hey megalomaniac." She smiled at him. "Sleep in?"

"Not nearly as much as you have." He retorted back.

"Shut up." Rogue replied.

At that moment Kurt chose to teleport in. "Guten Tag." He greeted everyone as he settled by a chair next to Rogue, a smile plastered all over his face. "Rogue, so glad your awake. Kitty should be here any minute with Jamie and Genesis."

Rogue groaned. "Oh, joy."

Kurt looked slightly hurt. "But Rogue you are glad to see us, ja?"

Magneto watched the pair as Rogue rubbed her temple. "Mr. Wagner your sister is very glad to see you, but bear in mind she has been through quite a bit and needs her rest. She has had a hard week of fighting."

Rogue shot Magneto a grateful look. "Maybe just a few minutes." She added.

Kurt's smile returned. "Not a second longer." He promised. Right on cue the doors opened with Kitty leading the charge.

"Rogue, Rogue you're awake. We're like so glad, everyone was so worried. Even Scott and the Professor and especially Magneto he was down here everyday just like me, Kurt, and Evan. We've missed you so much! Training had been so hard and Bobby iced the door to the upstairs bathroom." Kitty finished it all quickly on one breath.

Rogue watched in silence. "Are you certain that is not a secondary mutation, Charles?" Magneto asked.

Professor Xavier shook his head. "And I believe that concludes today's visit children. Rogue needs her rest."

"Jamie and Evan can stay." Rogue said quickly. "For a minute I mean."

Kurt and Kitty nodded and waved goodbye as they left. Rogue turned to Evan.

"Hey kiddo. How have you been adjusting? The other kids haven't been jerks have they?"

For the first time in a week Evan smiled. "It's better now, and I've made some friends." He said as he gestured to Jamie. Rogue grinned and nodded.

"I'm glad."

"Ten seconds left of visit time." Xavier reminded them.

Rogue sighed. "Really Prof? Alright you boys better scat before he decides to give you extra danger room time." They nodded and left quickly, not wanting to find out whether or not Rogue was kidding. As soon as the doors closed and they were in the elevator Rogue turned to Xavier and Magneto.

"How has he really been doing?"

"Genesis you mean?" Magneto asked. "From what I observed he is treated as an outsider and is feared."

"He reminds me quite a bit of you, Rogue." Xavier commented. "I have sessions with him every day and I'm positive he has a good heart. He seems to have inherited none of his counterpart, Apocalypse's, desires for domination."

Rogue nodded. "I know, he's a good kid. Do any of the other students say things to his face?"

"They don't have to." Magneto answered. "Their avoiding him and whispers behind his back speak for themselves."

"Other than Jamie how many friends has he made."

Professor Xavier frowned. "Jamie is the only one."

"Wonderful." Rogue exclaimed.

"We can work out a solution to this problem for tomorrow, for now you should both rest." Xavier suggested as he wheeled his chair over to the button panel and dimmed the lights.

"But Evan-" Rogue protested.

"Tomorrow Rouge." Xavier said firmly.

Rogue scowled as he wheeled out of the lab. "He's dangerous, that doesn't make him evil." She said to herself.

Magneto listened. "I know that and Charles knows that." He reminded her. "We are all dangerous. Even the New Mutants."

Sighing Rogue leaned back down on her pillows.

"You came for me." Rogue said, changing the subject. "When I was trapped inside of my own mind you came for me."

Magneto nodded. "Of course I came for you, silly girl. Why would I not?"

"Because you would be risking your own life?"

Magneto sat up once again and said firmly. "You were worth every risk, Anna. Now sleep."

She smiled at that settled in more comfortably. "How mad do you think the Prof. would be if I crawled into your bed?" She said suddenly. "I mean it's not like I haven't slept beside you before, it wouldn't be such a big deal right?"

Magneto laughed. "I would enjoy to see the scowl on Charles's face when he rolled into here to see that. Alright Anna, if you can get up then yes, you may join me in bed." Seconds later he heard movement and frustrating sighs.

"You have been unconscious for a week Rogue. You're going to have some difficulty walking." He reminded her with a smile. "But don't fret my girl, you should be able to move by tomorrow, then you may share my bed."

Rogue closed her eyes. "Tomorrow then."

When the next morning arrived Magneto found walking not difficult at all, he had only been gone two days, Rogue would not be so lucky. He re-entered the medical wing as he heard curses. Rogue must be awake.

"One fucking week and my body forgets how to move."

Magneto smirked as he observed her and Dr. McCoy. Her balance was the only thing that seemed off, her strength seemed back to full capacity. He set the apple he had brought her on the bed as he took a seat and watched Rogue make it from the table to the door without any problems.

Dr. McCoy wrote on his chart with a nod. "Very good, Rogue. You should be able to participate in the Danger Room sessions within two days, until then no strenuous activity."

Rogue nodded as she walked back to the bed and picked up the apple. "Thanks." She mouthed to Erik as she took a bite. Erik grinned at her as left the room and patted his knee, indicating he wanted her to sit. Rogue met his grin and gracefully settled herself in his lap.

His arm wrapped around her waist.

"I see you got to take a shower." Rogue commented. "They won't even let me out of here. And now Dr. McCoy say when I want to shower I gotta have Kitty with me for 'safety purposes'." Rogue rolled her eyes

Erik continued to grin. "Nonsense, no need to bother Ms. Pryde, I could help you bathe." Rogue shoved him lightly.

"I'm sure you would be glad to lend a hand. So if you're serious I'll leave it to you to tell Dr. McCoy that there's no need for Kitty."

"I will certainly tell him. You know I would."

Rogue giggled and took another bite of her apple. A telepathic broadcast to all the x men nearly caused her to choke on it though.

"Attention all senior X-Men you are all needed in in the Blackbird immediately. The Brotherhood seems to have had conflict with S.H.E.I.L.D."

Guess what, it's my birthday! So I'd figure I'd be nice and update! My only birthday wish this year is for feedback please!
