Author's Notes: Three months. It's freakin' three months since posting my last chapter. Heck, not only writer's block has creeping me but also I spent time reading more fanfics and gathering ideas for new stories as well. And especially, Christmas! Oh, and a HAPPY NEW YEAR to all of you!
Like I said, even I'm planning to make a new story; I'm not abandoning this one. But I will do my best to continue it. So my friends, here is chapter 11.

Chapter 11: Sword of Light
Somewhere a part of the demonic realm, a ball of light appeared all of sudden. Kagura was still inside of it and as it died out, she realized that she was floating in the air. She immediately landed safely on the ground. She got up on her knees and looked at her surroundings. She noticed that here she was back in the demonic realm, but still in a different place. In front of her is a ruined building. Without second thoughts, she began to make her way into the entrance.
Kagura entered the ruined building and it was an empty yet large room. She saw a portal and it was right in front of her and she entered through it...
"Yes, free from the demons. The path is clear for us to rule."
"What did you just say?"
"The path is clear for us to rule."
"This. Everything."
"No, no. We will not be like Mundus. We'll respect our subjects, not enslave them."
"He means you. He means humans."
"I thought you were fighting for freedom."
"It's just his freedom he's fighting for, not yours."
"Don't be so simplistic. Humans are frail, they're like children. They need protection."
"You and I saved them?" "Who else?"
"A human." "Kat was useful but-"
"Kat saved my life!"
"If you cannot see the chaos the humans would cause, if you can't handle the responsibility of protecting them, then stand aside. I'll rule alone.
"I didn't help you destroy Mundus so you could take his place! I can't let you do this, Vergil.
"Vergil, please-"
"Stay out of this!"
"Dante, you have to stop! I'm begging you... please stop... for me..."
"The world is under my protection now."
"You have chosen the wrong side. You're not human, Dante. And you never will be."
"I loved you, brother..."
Those words echoed on her. As Kagura went out of the portal, she clenched her head once more. At first, she heard voices. But now, she saw images that engraved in her mind. It was a conversation between Vergil, and two other people: a hooded woman and a young man with black hair and a long sword, which it was revealed that the said man was Vergil's brother.
"What does all of this mean?" Kagura wondered. "Hang in there, Vergil. I need to do something before I get there."
She walked, ran, and jumped for minutes as she moved forward to her destination. She needs to fight the demonic Phantom to gain more power for her. She finally made her destination, at the ruins where she met the Phatom Erza. Until…
THWICK!
She blocked herself from a powerful cleave from her attacker. She looked up and it was none other than the Phantom Erza, clad in her Black Wings armor and grinning at Kagura. The demonic shadow moved away and landed on the ground. Prepared, Kagura daggers her eyes on the Phantom Erza. It was a glare of a warrior.
"I love the look of your eyes." The demonic phantom snickered. "Those eyes are begging for despair."
Kagura keeps her own stern look as she shot back. "I don't even know why I'm begging for despair of anything." She points her sheathed Archenemy at her opponent. "But I'll make sure that it was YOU who will die here."
"Hmn, we'll see about that." Phantom Erza makes her move as she attacks Kagura with a slash from her sword, which it was successfully blocked by Kagura. The demonic phantom continued her attack against the Mermaid Heel ace until the latter parried the demonic phantom's slash. Seeing an opening, Kagura goes for the strike with a thrust from her sheathed sword. In turn, the Phantom Erza dodged it and as she distances herself from Kagura, she looked on her with a smirk. But moments later, the demonic phantom shrieked as black blood comes out from her abdomen. Kagura was satisfied that the force of her sheathed Archenemy caused the damage. As Phantom Erza kneeled to the ground in pain, Kagura dashed forward and does a two-hit spinning kick, hitting her opponent's chest and face. Such hits have sent the Phantom Erza into the walls of one of the ruined houses.
The demonic phantom tried to stand up but she saw the charging Kagura in her drawing stance, ready to attack. Then a powerful slash was unleashed by Kagura w/o sheathing her sword that cuts the concrete wall. As the smoke cleared, she widened her eyes a bit as her opponent disappeared. Then she sensed that someone is coming from behind and it was none other than the demonic phantom.
'Heh, got you now.' The demonic phantom smirked as she goes for the kill while donning her Flight Armor, which she Requipped it moments ago.
But Kagura sensed it and with quick reflexes, she dodged left and landed in the ground. But the Phantom Erza didn't stop as she continues her attack on the black-haired mage, while the latter keeps on blocking every single attack. Good thing that Kagura has the speed and agility to match her opponent's, especially her opponent dons the Flight Armor which increased her speed.
Kagura successfully blocked the Phantom Erza's fast strikes. But the Mermaid Heel ace has shown signs of vulnerability as she distances herself from her opponent. As she experienced fatigue, she tries to catch her breath.
Her eyes kept daggered on the demon. "Her speed is uncanny, even faster than the real Erza. If I can't find a way to defeat her then-!"
And in a flash, the demonic Erza went behind her and unleash a flurry of slashes. Kagura was hit in all parts of her body. She shrieked of pain due to her opponent's attack. But her opponent is not finished yet: the Phantom Erza hits the helpless Mermaid Heel mage in the back with a devastating kick that sends her into the rubble. Kagura lays on the ground, bloody, battered and bruised.
The Phantom Erza continues to approaches her helpless prey as she requips into her Heart Kreuz armor, gripping her sword. Kagura, vowing not to give up, slowly stands up as she is ready to face the demon again. After all, she had the heart of a warrior.
The demon dashed forward to attack Kagura again. Kagura managed to block her attacks but barely due to her wavering strength. Because of this, all she had to do is to dodge her opponent's strikes as long as she can.
'Damnit! I'm on my limit now. If I can't hold on much longer then-'
Until black haired the mage was hit in the gut through the hilt of her opponent's sword. Then Phantom Erza took down Kagura with a reverse roundhouse on the face. The helpless swordswoman fell flat on the ground.
"Yes, finally." With a sadistic grin on her face, the Phantom Erza once again went near on her downed opponent. As the demon goes for the kill, Kagura opened her eyes as she uses her Gravity Change Magic that made the demon halt. The demon gritted her teeth due to the sheer force of gravity. Kagura used this as an opportunity to recover as she jumped away to gain distance. Afterwards, she prepares a drawing stance and makes her attack.
"Archenemy. Sheathed Sword Style: Slashing Form!"
As Kagura does for the strike, the ghostly demon made a roar that halt Kagura a bit. And it with sheer force, the demonic apparition successfully break Kagura's Gravity Change spell.
"Oh crap!"
And with quickness, the demomic Erza stabbed the charging Kagura in the abdomen. Her eyes widened due to the sinister attack of her opponent. Then the demon took her sword away from Kagura's abdomen, and then took her down with a kick. Kagura helplessly fell to the ground.
The Phantom Erza laughed maniacally at her so-called "victory". "At last!" And then she looked down on the helpless Kagura. "And now, time to take your life." And she began to walk slowly…
The helpless Kagura is down. Not just because of the fatigue but also due to the stab that she took. Her helpless eyes can do nothing but to see the face of her opponent, which it had the likeness of the one who consider not just her best friend but also her family. Her big sister.
And then, she wondered. "Am I going to die?"
Then everything is coming back to her...
Mercurius. The Flower Light Place. It is the resident palace of the royal family and it is the place where the king of Fiore lives. It is one of the magnificent landmarks of the city of Crocus, the capital of Fiore. The capital itself is on the brink of destruction due to their encounter with the dragons, led by none other than the future version of the dragon slayer, Rogue Cheney. With Fairy Tail and the other magic guilds, they successfully defeated the dragons and the city was saved. Because of this, the king of Fiore has invited its people to the great banquet to celebrate their victory. But the real heroes are the mages themselves. And Kagura is one of them.
The banquet inside the palace is filled with elegance and grandeur. All of the mages are in attendance, with the exception of Crime Sorciere, which is an independent guild. So that means Jellal, Meredy and Ultear are absent. And speaking of Ultear, she made a sacrifice that turned the tide against the dragons, but at the cost of her life. But a miracle happened; she survived from death, much to the joy of Meredy and even Gray Fullbuster, the man who changed her life.
As her group continued to walk into the palace ball, Kagura is a bit... embarrassed. That is because of the elegant formal dress that she wore, which it slightly exposes her breasts.
"If I'll go in a party like this, I would NEVER wear this kind of dress." Kagura expressed her frustration with a sigh.
But her fellow guildmates retorted.
"Don't you say that, Kagura. That really looks nice!"
"You know, you're very beautiful with that."
Beth and Risley said as they tried to cheer the ace.
"Well, it can't be helped." Kagura decided to go along with it.
And she turned and saw Milliana. She noticed that she had a sad face. She is being like that for hours.
"Something wrong, Milliana?" The dark, purple-haired woman inquired.
Milliana snapped as she turned to Kagura. "Uh? Wh- um. It's complicated."
"I see.." Kagura replied. She thought that it was personal for her.
Until she saw…
"Erza."
"There you are, Kagura. How are your wounds?"
"I should be the one who should ask you that."
"Well, many things have happened between the two of us. But since we are both from the same hometown, it's good that from now on, we should be friends."
"U-um... I refuse..."
"Huh?"
"I mean, I-I want to... please, it's much better that... if you treat me as your little sister instead..."
"Aw, c'mon. You're very cute when you're like that."
"H-Hey, I was just bluffing!"
Kagura's guildmates burst with laughter since they even loved the scene where the top mage of Mermaid Heel received an adorable hug from Erza herself. But on the inside, Kagura can't help but to be thankful because this is the start of a new beginning for her.
And she enjoyed the celebration for the rest of the night...
The demonic apparition of Erza is now standing, atop on the exhausted, helpless Kagura. She is now raising her sword, ready for the kill.
"No. I can't die here. My friends are waiting for me. And I need to save someone!"
Kagura finally opened her eyes; as if she is now awake through a power that surging into her. She activated here Gravity Change magic...
"What the-!?"
The demonic phantom felt something strange: she can't even move a finger! Kagura have successfully stopped her opponent's attack using her gravity magic. With pure determination, Kagura glared her eyes on the phantom Erza.
"You think I will die here in this hellhole?!" Kagura spat in defiance.
With this response, Phantom Erza flinched.
"Then eat this!"
Kagura used the gravity to force her opponent away, landed hard on the ground. As she completely recovered, the raven-haired human mage dashed forward as she began her attack with her sheathed Archenemy. But Phantom Erza quickly blocked it; Kagura was unfazed as she countered with a kick, hitting her demonic opponent's torso. As Phatom Erza staggered, Kagura continued her assault with a right punch on her opponent's face, connecting with an attack using the pommel of her sword, hitting the torso. And she unleashed a flurry of left kicks that left her opponent defenceless and finished with a devastating dropkick. The Phantom Erza crashed into one of the ruined buildings.
Kagura landed safely on the ground, catching her breath since she used a portion of her strength in the one dropkick. But she keeps her eyes open...
"I'm not done yet!" Kagura narrowed her eyes.
"It's not over! IT'S NOT OVER YET, DAMNIT!" The Phantom Erza quickly recovered as she unleashed her dread demonic aura, reaching her full power. It seems that she is angry. Very angry.
Seeing this, Kagura sensed her opponent's different aura: pure rage. The demonic phantom is now angry and she will defeat Kagura no matter what it takes. But that didn't falter the human mage's will.
"I will end this fight. I must win this!"
Now channelling her inner aura, Kagura is now in her calm state. She is now holding the grip of her Archenemy as she dons her drawing stance.
"My sword Archenemy can cause a cataclysm when I unsheathe it…"
She remembered the time when she faced Erza in the Grand Magic Games. She was filled with hatred and rage when Erza told her about her brother's death, especially that Erza took the blame instead. When she unsheathed her own sword, it unleashed a powerful shockwave that it destroyed most of the buildings in the area. She was shocked that Erza blocked her most powerful attack. She realized that it was inner strength that defeated her.
"...but Erza managed to block it. I was out of control due to my hatred."
As she dons her drawing stance, she focuses on her opponent, who is still releasing her dangerous aura.
"All I need is to control my power… my energy is channeling to my own blade. And in one precise strike, it only meant the destruction of my opponent… and not to cause a cataclysm…"
The Phantom Erza, all in full power, makes her move as she dashed forward to kill Kagura once and for all with her sword. Kagura closed her eyes as a sign of focus and concentration. Her aura intensifies yet still calm in nature.
"Alright."
Her opponent is inches away. With precise timing and accuracy...
"Now!"
...she opened her eyes and with quick yet breath-taking speed, she unsheathes her sword, Archenemy, and unleashes a powerful slash. A horizontal cut.
SWSSSSHHHH!
The demonic phantom used a slashing attack against Kagura, seemingly attacking her as she got past from the human mage. They were standing for a few moments until...
VOOOOOOOOOOOM!
"UWAAAAAAAAHHH!" The phantom cried in pain as she felt shockwaves from her body due to the force of Kagura's attack. Until she saw a gash in her abdomen, she realized that she was hit.
"N-No! It can't-!"
"Archenemy. Drawn Sword Mode: Tempest Cut."
Suddenly, the Phantom Erza slowly shattering into pieces due to the sheer power of Kagura's slash. It didn't destroy the whole area though, but more like it destroyed the enemy instead.
"D-damn you...!" the demonic Erza turned into Kagura, seething in anger.
Then Kagura responded in a calm manner. "The Erza I know... is the one who seeks justice. The one who fights for her friends and does what is right. And you... are not that Erza."
The demon widened when she heard those words. And then... she complete vanished.
At last, Kagura defeated the demonic phantom. Then she looked into her sword. It still retained its original aura yet brighter. Kagura sheathed back her sword but she wobbled a bit due to exhaustion.
"Whoa, and I even used much strength with that move..."
After a few moments of catching her breath, Kagura stood as she recovered. Before going on, she turned around as she saw a small yet bright light. She sensed that it has a different aura but more like soothing and comforts the soul.
"I wonder what this is..."
Still a bit suspicious, Kagura reached the bright light and when she touched it, it illuminated into her. Then she heard a voice...
"Thank you for saving me, mortal..."
The Mermaid Heel mage was a bit surprised when she heard a voice. And she started to look around using her eyes.
"Wh-who's there?" Kagura tried to inquire as she turned to continue look around.
"I am here."
Kagura turned back and she widened her eyes in shock. Right before her eyes is another strange creature. It's another angel. But unlike Lucia, the previous angel she met a few hours ago, this one is different. She had golden hair and clad in silver and gray armour, which is mythical and a bit futuristic in a sense. On top of it, she has bright silver eyes.
"Greetings. I am very grateful to meet you."
"Who are you?" asked Kagura.
"My name is Uriel. I am an angel. But like you, I am also a warrior."
"A warrior angel..." Kagura wondered.
"You defeated the shadows that the rebel Nephelim Angelos created. I was imprisoned by her." said the warrior angel.
"You mean you were inside of that ghostly demon? Then you're trapped inside."
"Yes. And because of your good deed, you will need my strength."
Kagura was surprised about what the angel said. Is there something that this mythical creature wanted to give her?
"Take my soul and go forth. You have my blessing, mortal."
And then with all her strength, the angel Uriel gathers all her energy in her body and with one cry, a bright flash of light occurs as she vanished, along with her soul. Then Kagura opened her eyes slowly after moments of shielding her vision due to the bright light; as it faints until it's gone, she saw a glowing mystical broadsword. It has a shade of white and gold in it. The hilt of the sword is silver. It was emitting with bright light energy.
As Kagura took hold of the said sword, something different happened. She sensed that the sword's power is flowing into her. And then she raised the sword up high; a surge of light from the sky poured into her. A new aura she gained. A new power.
Then she decided to test the sword. Holding it with her two hands, she swing it left and right. Then she tried to swing and twirl it with her right hand, doing some excellent swordsmanship moves. When she's finished, she puts the sword into her back and disappeared, placing a mysterious mark: it's like the wings of an angel.
"The sword disappeared? And it's now inside me... this means it's mine now. I will call this sword... Uriel."
Realizing that the sword itself is now inside her, she now started to walk forward in order to find Vergil. Then she turned from her right as she saw a portal.
"I'll save you, Vergil. Just wait there."
With new resolve in her eyes, Kagura ran towards the portal. She does not know what it coming for her, but helping Vergil is her priority. She faced her own demons and now, this is just the beginning for her
Hollow Kagura narrowed her eyes. Deep inside, her anger is boiling as she saw the pinkish beating heart. Instead of slowly closing one of the wounds, one of them suddenly flashed with a brilliant light as it was disappeared.
"Great..."
AN: So this is the end of chapter 11.
BTW, Uriel is another OC, but a possibility that she'll have a one-time appearance in my story. If anything, I based her design from the first Darksiders game. And about the sword, which is a gift from Uriel, I based its design from the sword Hofund, which is owned by Marvel's version of Heimdall. Next chapter is my version of the end of Mission 2 of the Vergil's Downfall DLC which I will made a lot of changes since this is my AU version with a crossover with Fairy Tail.
