Hey everyone. It's great to see you again. Can hear you say "Whoa Damon Salvatore rocks!" Anyway, he's back. I hope you enjoy the chapter and let me know what you think when you have nothing better to do. ;) See you at the bottom.

Chapter 16: Unwelcome Invitation

They were content to lay on the floor of the cell to the Salvatore Boarding House all day. Curling up against Damon Salvatore, Elena Salvatore smiled to herself. Suddenly she jumped to her feet hearing something upstairs. Frowning, she wondered if it was Stefan but decided it wasn't because he was probably with Caroline. "What's going on?" Damon asked, sitting bolt upright.

"Someone is upstairs," Elena whispered, listening carefully, she narrowed her eyes.

"Stefan?" Standing up Damon came to stand beside Elena looking outside the cell and cursing the loss of his vampire hearing. Staring at Elena, he waited for her to tell him what to do. He hated to be in this position but if there was a threat in the house she was more likely to survive than he was.

"Stay here," Elena ordered Damon before kissing him quickly and then disappearing.

Upstairs Elena entered the Great Room cautiously. Flicking her gaze into all corners of the room she continued through it and up the stairs. When she entered her bedroom, her breath caught in her throat. "Dominic."

Dominic turned to look at Elena. "Hello, Elena. It's been awhile. You didn't answer the doorbell. So, I thought I'd let myself in."

Elena placed a hand on her hip and licked her lips slowly, buying time. "How… presumptuous of you…"

Shaking his head, Dominic laughed. "Ah, she has lost her sense of humor. Lena, I thought you liked it when I surprised you."

Glaring at Dominic, Elena didn't move past the doorway. "What do you want?"

"Um… would you believe me if I said I dropped by to say hello?" Dominic raised his eyebrows in a playful manner.

"No, she wouldn't, jackass," Damon Salvatore snapped from his position behind Elena.

Dominic grinned. "Ah, other me. We finally meet. Have you been having fun with my girlfriend?"

Elena turned to say something to Damon when he lifted a crossbow. Without a word, she dropped to the ground just as Damon shot a stake at Dominic.

Falling to his knees, Dominic stared at the stake embedded in his chest. "Nice shot." Pulling the piece of wood back out he grinned. "But not quite where you should have aimed for."

"No," Damon replied, "but I didn't intend to kill you." He shot another stake into Dominic's leg. Dominic gasped in pain and rage. Jerking the stake out of his leg, Dominic sped toward Damon. Elena jumped in front of Dominic and was knocked to the floor. Damon punched Dominic in the face, connecting with his eye.

Stumbling backward, Damon clutched his hand moaning in pain. "Stupid human body." Dominic grabbed Damon by the neck and threw him across the hall and through the door of the adjacent room.

"He's gone because Stefan tripped me," Elena snarled, glaring at her brother.

"You can't fight him like this." Stefan yelled at her. "You need help."

"Please, bunny eater," Elena scoffed. "Are you going to help me?"

Stefan pushed himself to his feet and ran a hand through his hair. "Yeah, I'm going to help you."

Laughing, Elena shook her head. "Yeah, you and Damon. You're going to be so much help when Dominic kills you both. Why don't you enlist Caroline's help, too? She can cheer him to death." Dusting her pants off, Elena walked away in a rage.

Damon started to go after her when Stefan caught him by the arm. "I would not do that if I were you."

Sneering, Damon stared at Stefan. "Well, it's a good thing I'm not you then, isn't it?" walking away from his "not my brother" as he had begun to call Stefan Salvatore in this world.

"Damon," Stefan called, striding after him. "I mean it. You don't know what Elena is like when she's this pissed."

Damon kept walking. "Actually, Stef, you don't know what I look like when I'm angry. So, you might want to go hang with Blondie and get out of my way." Hearing a crash from upstairs both males looked up to see a chair flying through one of the windows. Then there was a loud howl of rage which sounded a whole lot like Elena. Then a couch came flying out and would have hit Damon if Stefan didn't knock him out of the way.

"HOLY SHIT!" Damon's eyes were wide as an antique painting came flying next. That wouldn't have been so frightening, if it weren't on fire. Backing away from the house slowly, Damon reconsidered his options. "You know, now that I think about it, maybe we should go and have a drink. Allow Elena to purge some of that anger."

Stefan didn't answer, he simply shoved Damon aside as a large lamp came sailing his way. Grabbing Damon by the arm, Stefan sped them out of the area. "Does Lena have any female friends she could talk to?" Damon questioned Stefan on their way to the Mystic Grill. "Maybe she could have one of those bitch fests with ice cream and angst. Think that would help?"

Frowning, Stefan thought about his answer. "Elena doesn't really like the company of other women. Or people in general. Besides she might eat one of them or both of them."

"But we could try, right? I mean what's the harm? The Elena I knew had two BFFs and they would be Bonnie Bennett and Caroline Forbes. So, what do you say we get the lovely ladies to pay our girl a little visit?" Damon smiled as Stefan just stared at him, shaking his head.

"No, she'll kill them both." Stefan argued.

"Well, we've got to try something." Damon argued, rolling his eyes at Stefan's lack of co-operation. "Lena's no good to us if she's this bent out of shape about this Dominic guy. Right now, I need you all to prevent me from becoming a sacrifice to that psycho, Klaus."

Blinking in confusion, Stefan simply stared at Damon. "Who?"

Damon stared at Stefan like he was the stupid one in the conversation and then he remembered he was ahead of Stefan's time line. "Klaus is this guy you probably haven't met yet. But in my time he wants to kill Elena Gilbert to become a hybrid. 'Kay?"

Stefan stared at Damon. "So, the Klaus in our world, if the guy exists in this world, would want to sacrifice you?"

"Yup," Damon replied walking into the Grill.

Shaking his head, Stefan looked around them, on edge now. "And do you know what he looks like?"

"Nope," Damon retorted, finding the two girls he wanted to see sitting in a booth together. "Great." Walking over to the booth, Damon sat down across from Caroline and Bonnie. Both girls stopped talking and glared at him.

"What do you want?" Bonnie snapped.

"Need a favor," Damon replied without a pause as Bonnie narrowed her eyes and folded her arms over her chest.

"Why do you think we would do you a favor?" Caroline asked, swirling her straw in her coke. "WE don't even know you. You're, you're like a clone who stole my boyfriend's body and is wearing his face. Now, you want us to do stuff for you. NO!" Getting to her feet Caroline started to leave when Damon leapt in front of her.

Caroline folded her arms over her chest and stared Damon in the eye. "Well, who do you want me to help?"

"Elena," Damon replied which caused Caroline to scoff and walk around him to leave. "Caroline," Damon spun around and began to follow her with Bonnie on his heels and Stefan watching from the doorway. "Caroline, in my world Elena is your friend. Would you really turn your back on a friend who was in pain? She's just like you, suffering from a broken heart. Come on. Give her a chance."

Spinning around to stare at Damon, Caroline looked like she was about to hit him as she seethed. "Elena Salvatore tried to kill me a couple of hours ago and now you want me to help her. Are you completely out of you mind? With the body switch did they take out the brain too?"

Sighing, Damon watched Caroline spin on her heel and begin to walk away, again. "The Caroline in my world forgave me for compelling her. For calling her horrible things. For being the reason she's a vampire. So, please, tell me that you and that Caroline are not that different and help Elena."

Stopping in her tracks, Caroline turned around slowly. "The other me is a vampire?" Caroline whispered.

Damon nodded. "And in spite of what I thought, she's pretty awesome at being one. She has kicked my ass on occasion."

"Really?" Caroline asked, her lips twitching upward.

"Yeah," Damon said, walking cautiously toward the girl. "I'll tell you all about it if you'll come with us?"

Caroline nodded and then looked at Bonnie. "Are you coming?"

Bonnie shrugged. "I guess. I should probably try to keep you from getting turned so you can find out if Damon's telling the truth."

They walked out the door and back to the Salvatore Boarding house. In the lawn there were several more pieces of broken furniture. Inside the house it was worse. They found Elena dancing in her underwear. The stereo was blasting out music and Elena had a book in her hands.

"Dear Diary, my sister is a psychotic bitch." Elena sang before pulling out a page and throwing it into the fireplace. "Dear Diary, I ate a puppy. Umm… good." Jerking the page out it too went into the flames. "Dear Diary, I forget the last time I had an orgasm." In went the page.

Elena stopped dancing when she saw her guests. "Oh, look it's the morality police and my little boy toy. Come here, toy, I need a distraction. Oh, wait you look like Dominic which makes me want to rip your face off." Picking up a fire poker, Elena threw it in Damon's direction. Stefan shoved him out of the way again.

"Stop it," Bonnie ordered, her eyes wide with fear.

"Make me," Elena snarled, moving toward the witch.

Bonnie stared at Elena and then Elena fell to her knees holding her head. "Ahhhh…" She wailed. After a minute Bonnie stopped.

"We're here to help you," Bonnie informed Elena. "So, you could try not threatening us."

Elena laughed bitterly. "You? You're going to help me do what - get in touch with why I fell for a psycho who tore my heart out and laughed afterward? Like I need help from a teenager." Getting to her feet, Elena stumbled toward the stairs. "You're all pathetic," she mumbled before she walked upstairs.

"I told you it wouldn't work." Stefan informed Damon, shaking his head.

Pursing his lips, Damon thought about it. "We just need to try harder. "Other you" didn't give up on me and neither did Lena. So, I'm not going to give up on her." Heading for the stairs, Damon motioned for Bonnie and Caroline to follow him. Once they got to Elena's room they found her sitting on her bed with a bottle of champagne. "Try not to kill these two." He ordered Elena, who glowered at him.

After Damon left the room Elena stared at Caroline and Bonnie. Moaning, she pulled a drawer open and held out a bottle of champagne to the girls. "Guys suck." She told them.

Smiling, Caroline took the peace offering and sat down on the end of the bed. Bonnie sat down on the other side cautiously. "Yeah, sometimes they do."

"Do you have a boyfriend?" Elena asked Bonnie. To be honest, other than knowing the girl was a witch, there was pretty much nothing she knew about the Bennett girl.

Bonnie shook her head. "No, I mean I've gone out on a dates with a couple of guys but none of them made my heart flutter."

"Those are the ones you have to be careful of," Elena told her, shaking her bottle to emphasize her point. "The ones you really fall for. They just want to use you and walk all over you."

"Yes!" Caroline nodded emphatically. "Boys suck. One day he's you're boyfriend and the next day he's a body snatcher. You have to be careful. And don't have sex in the back of a moving vehicle."

Elena tossed her head back and began to laugh until she fell backwards on the bed. "And don't have sex on a top of a Ferris wheel. Or in a mall. Or the middle of a highway."

"In the middle of a highway?" Caroline shrieked hysterically, jumping up and down. "You did not!"

"I did too. Twice!" Elena shrieked back.

"Oh, my God." Bonnie began to giggle after Caroline handed her the bottle. "You know who's cute?"

Both of the girls shook their heads in unison. "Jeremy Gilbert!" Bonnie squealed.

"Call him!" Caroline told her.

"No!" Bonnie shook her head frantically.

"Call him," Elena urged her.

Bonnie continued to shake her head her face turning bright pink. "I can't."

Elena pulled out her phone. Dialing a number she watched Bonnie's face contorting. "Hello, Jeremy. What are you doing tonight? Uh huh. Well, I know someone who would love to see you at the Grill tonight at seven. Don't be late and dress well. She deserves to be treated like a special girl." Hanging up, Elena was satisfied with her work.

"I can't believe you just did that," Bonnie gasped, staring at Elena's phone in shock.

"You only live once. And, rather than waiting around to find out if he likes you and all that drama, you just go for it. See what happens," Elena advised the teenage witch.

"Says the drunken vampire," Caroline retorted with a giggle. "Oh, wait you didn't tell him who you were. How do you know he'll show?"

Elena shrugged. "He's a teenage boy. And there is nothing to do in this town. Trust me, he'll be there." Sitting back on the bed Elena's eyes sparkled with amusement. "Here's the better question: what are you going to wear?"

Thank you for reading, faving, following and reviewing. Thank you to ThatRandomAsian, xElinneax, Ghostwriter, YAZMIN Z, 9linn8, Melyani and Klaroline-Lovegames.

Yes, I know Klaus is either creepy or crazy. However, there is much more to his character than the little bit of a taste I've given you so far and we will be hearing from him again. We will also be seeing some of the Originals soon. Don't worry, you came for the Delena and there will be plenty of Delena to come. Also someone asked me a loooonnnnng time ago to have a bromance between Damon, Stefan and Jeremy and that will appear soon.

Love,

LL
