The nurses ran into her room and found a terrified Marisa sitting in her bed and some stuff from the bedside table were lying on the floor.
"Are you okay Miss?" One of the nurses asked. Marisa didn't answer. "Miss, are you okay?"
"Can you please call my dad?"
"Are you okay Miss? Are you hurt?"
"No, I'm fine. It was just a bad dream. Can you please call my dad?"
"It's 3am Miss. I'll call him in the morning."
"Please call him now. He never sleeps that much."
The nurse saw the terrified look in her face so she nodded and went to call Callen.
Callen was asleep when his phone rang. When he saw it was the hospital he shot up.
"Callen," Callen spoke when he answered his phone.
"Hello Mr. Callen, I'm calling about your daughter Marisa."
"Is she alright?" Callen asked worried.
"She just had a bad dream and she asked for you."
"I'm on my way." Callen hung up the phone.
"Everything alright G?" Sara asked still half asleep.
"It's fine Sara. Marisa is fine. She just had a bad dream and was asking for me. She's fine, go back to sleep. I'm just gonna go check on her."
"I'm coming with you."
"It's okay Sara, I've got this. She asked for me so two people might be too much for her. Don't worry. I'll take care of her."
Callen gave Sara a soft kiss before he got dressed and headed to the hospital.
"Hello, Mr. Callen, thank you for coming," the nurse greeted him.
"No problem, how is she?"
"She hasn't said much, but I could see that the dream really upset her."
"I'll take care of it, thank you for calling." Callen walked into Marisa's room. "Hey Marisa."
"Dad, hi."
"What happened?" Callen asked as she sat down next to Marisa on the bed and pulled her in for a hug.
"It felt so real. It was like I was back in the warehouse."
"It's okay sweetie. It's over. They can't hurt you anymore. You're safe. I've got you. I won't let anyone hurt you."
"Every time I go to sleep I see their faces in front of me and the stupid grin on their faces."
"I know it was hard for you but it's over. They are gone, they can't hurt you anymore. And your mom and I are here for you."
"I just don't know how I'm gonna deal with this."
"You will sweetie and we will help you with it. It's gonna be okay. We're gonna get through this."
"Could you maybe stay with me for the rest of the night?"
"Of course Marisa."
Callen took his shoes and his jacket off and lay down on the bed next to Marisa and held her in his arms. A little later he noticed Marisa had fallen asleep. Callen lay awake for a while before he fell asleep too. The next morning he woke up when his phone chirped.
'How is Marisa?' The text from Sara read.
'She's better now. I'm gonna stay here until she wakes up.'
'Alright, that's fine. I'll tell Hetty.'
'Great thanks.'
A little before 9am Marisa woke up. She saw Callen sitting in the chair next to her bed.
"Hey dad."
"Hey Marisa, how are you?"
"I'm better thank you. And thank you for coming here last night."
"No problem, you're my daughter." Callen gave her a soft kiss on her head. "Just rest up, I'll be back later."
"How's Marisa?" Sara asked as Callen walked into the bullpen.
"She's doing better. I called Nate and told him what happened and he would stop by today."
"That's good."
A little later Eric whistled them up and they got to work.
…
Marisa lay in her bed just watching some TV when Nate walked in.
"Good morning Marisa," Nate spoke.
"Good morning Nate," Marisa replied and she turned the TV off.
"Callen told me what happened. Would you like to tell me about it?"
Marisa sighed. She didn't want to tell but she had to if she was going to deal with it.
"I had a bad dream. It felt like I was back in the warehouse again. I kept seeing their faces and their sick smiles. Just as they started to rape me I woke up. I was so terrified when I woke up that I asked them to call Callen."
"Did it help you that Callen was here with you?"
"Yes it did. I felt safer with my dad around."
"That's good. Have you given anymore thought as to writing everything down and then burn the paper?"
"Yes I think that might be a good idea. Maybe if I write it down it'll go out of my mind a bit."
"It'll probably never completely go away but you can learn to deal with it and give it a place. The most important thing to know is that it wasn't your fault that this happened."
"I know. They were two sick bastards."
"Yes they were and they can't hurt you anymore so you don't have to worry about that. I'll be back later to check on you."
"Thank you Nate."
"You're welcome Marisa."
Nate left and Marisa picked up a pen and paper and started writing everything that had happened. Not just to her but to Sara and Callen as well. It was hard for her to write down the part where she was raped. She tried to write everything down to the tiniest detail but with this is was getting hard. She couldn't help but let the tears flow. At that moment Sara and Callen walked in.
"Hey Marisa," Sara spoke. Marisa looked up and they could see that she was crying. Sara walked over to her bed and sat down next to her. "What's wrong sweetie?" Sara asked as she pulled Sara in for a hug.
"I was writing down everything that had happened in the warehouse."
"That's good."
"I didn't think it would be this hard. It's like I'm living it again."
"I know it's hard sweetie. But you can do it. Your dad and I are here for you."
Callen sat down on the other side of Marisa and gave her a soft kiss on her head.
"You can do this Marisa. We're here for you," Callen spoke.
With her parents next to her Marisa continued writing. She had to take a couple of deep sighs as she wrote. It helped that Callen and Sara were there for her.
"You did good sweetie," Sara said when Marisa was done. "I'm proud of you."
"Thanks mom. Now all I need to do is burn it. But I can't do that inside."
"I'll go ask if you can go outside," Callen replied and he walked out of the room.
"Mom, how did you deal with it?"
"I wrote it down just like you and I have your father to help me through it."
"How did you stop feeling their touches and them inside of you? I just wanna stand in the shower and scrub it off."
"I had that too. But not anymore. Your father helped me," Sara told her with a little smile.
"Mom, please, I don't need to know what you and dad do," Marisa said a bit disgusted.
"You asked for it," Sara joked.
When Callen walked in he was pleased to see Marisa and Sara laughing a bit together.
"Can I go outside, dad?"
"No unfortunately not yet. But I explained the situation to them and you could do it here for this once if you held it out the window." Callen pulled out a lighter. "So what do you say?"
Marisa nodded and Callen and Sara helped her out of bed. Sara grabbed her IV-pole while Callen supported her to the window. Sara helped Marisa to put her rope on before Callen opened the window. Marisa but the papers in the bowl Callen had brought with him and Callen held the bowl in the window opening. Marisa set the papers on fire and Callen held the bowl out the window. Marisa watched as the papers burned. Sara had her arm around Marisa. Marisa had to sigh a couple of times as the papers burned. She let out a deep sigh as the papers were completely burned.
"You did good sweetie," Sara told her.
Callen and Sara helped her back into bed. Marisa felt like this helped. She felt a bit better now.
…..
A week later Marisa was transferred out of the ICU. She still had to stay in the hospital for a week or two and then still 5 to 6 months at home to recuperate. Callen was glad that Marisa was doing better, he would've been devastated if he had lost her. Sara was feeling a lot better. She had learned to give it a place. Callen really helped her through it. He was there for her when she felt bad. This thing helped them get closer. Sara was practically living with Callen now. Every night they slept together in the bed and sometimes it was more than just sleeping. Callen never did anything unless Sara wanted it too. It felt so good to both of them to be back together again. They hadn't put a label on it, they just enjoyed their time together. Callen had set everything up in Marisa's room so she could live with them while she recuperated. Callen knew it probably wasn't going to be easy for her. She was just the same as him when it came to stuff like this. Luckily Sara was here too. He was glad that Marisa had her mother now too. It had been hard on her to lose her adoptive parents but now she had both her biological parents. Callen really felt like part of a family now.
…
A week and a half later Marisa was discharged from the hospital. Callen and Sara went to pick her up after work.
"You know you're gonna have to take it easy right," Callen spoke as they walked into his house.
"I know dad, I will."
"You better. I don't wanna see you end up in the hospital again."
"I promise dad."
"Good."
Callen had picked up some of her stuff from her apartment and had put them in her room.
"How's everything at work dad?" Marisa asked as she sat down on the couch.
"It's good. Don't worry, we've got it covered. Everyone misses you but everything is going great."
"Good to hear. You can handle it without me mom?"
"Yes I can, don't worry about that."
"Good."
Sara went to prepare dinner as Marisa lay down on the couch.
"You need anything?" Callen asked.
"No thanks dad. I'm good."
After dinner Marisa went to her room to get some rest. She lay down on her bed and almost immediately fell asleep. A little later Callen came to check on her and was pleased to see her asleep.
"I'm glad she's doing better," Sara spoke when Callen joined her on the couch again.
"Yeah me too. I'm glad you're both doing better."
"Thank you for being here for me."
"You're welcome Sara. I wouldn't want it any other way. I'm glad you're back in my life again."
"I'm glad to be back in your life too. I really missed you. Every day I wondered what it would have been like if we stayed together."
"Yeah I wonder that too since I found out about Marisa. I would've liked to raise her together with you."
"Me too."
"Maybe we can give us another try?"
"Isn't that what we're already doing?"
"I don't know. We only hung out a few times before this all happened. I know you came here with me so you could recuperate and you felt safer with me and now Marisa is here and it's better for her that both her parents are here. I don't know where we go after this is all over but I would like you to stay here, with me."
Sara saw the look in his eyes and she knew he meant every word he said. Sara sat on his lap and kissed him.
"Is that a yes?"
"Yes it is. I would love to stay here with you. This feels right. I wanna be together with you."
Callen smiled at her. He moved his arms around her and kissed her again. It felt so good holding her in his arms again and kissing her. She was the first and only woman he really truly loved. He let her go once and he wasn't going to let her go again. Sara's hands were fumbling with his shirt, trying to get the buttons open. Callen's hands were doing the same to Sara's blouse. Callen stopped his actions and stopped her too.
"We can't do it here. Marisa might see us," Callen spoke.
"Then maybe we should take this to the bedroom," Sara smirked.
Callen picked her up and carried her to their bedroom. Sara giggled as Callen threw her down on the bed. He quickly took off his shirt and his pants. Sara smiled when she saw the bulge in his boxers. Callen smiled back at her. Callen quickly took Sara's blouse and pants off too. He kissed her as he lay down on top of her. Sara moaned against his lips as Callen pressed against her in just the right way. Callen started dry humping her. A little later Sara couldn't take it anymore and she turned Callen around. She quickly took her and Callen's underwear off and let herself fall down on him.
"We do have to be quiet today in case Marisa wakes up," Sara whispered in his ear.
"I'll try."
It felt so good what she was doing to him. They fit so perfectly together. They tried to keep quiet but it was hard so they decided to kiss each other. Callen turned them around and finished them.
"That was so good," Sara uttered.
"Yeah it was. Totally amazing," Callen breathed out as he pulled out of her.
Sara turned on her side and Callen did as well. They looked in each other's eyes.
"I love you," Sara told him with a passionate voice.
"I love you too."
They kissed each other. They got dressed before they fell asleep in each other's arms. A few hours later Callen and Sara woke up by a scream. Callen jumped out of his bed. He grabbed his gun before he made his way to Marisa's room. There was no one to be seen in the hallway. He carefully opened the door to Marisa's room. He saw Marisa sitting up in her bed, she looked terrified. He quickly scanned the room but no one was here. He put his gun on the dresser and walked up to Marisa.
"Marisa, sweetie, are you okay?" Callen asked as he sat down on the bed next to her. Marisa looked at him and he saw the fear in her eyes. "What happened sweetie?"
A few seconds later Marisa snapped out of her trance. "I'm fine dad. It was just a bad dream."
"About the warehouse?"
Marisa nodded and she started sobbing. Callen pulled her in for a hug.
"It's okay Marisa, you're safe. It's over. You're safe here. It's okay."
Callen rocked her in his arms as she sobbed. Callen rocked her until she had fallen asleep again. He carefully put her back down on the bed. He just looked at her. He felt so bad about what she was going through. He knew he shouldn't blame himself but he couldn't help but feel guilty. He just looked at her for a while to make sure she was peacefully asleep before going back to his room.
"Is she okay?" Sara asked as Callen walked back into the bedroom.
"She's fine. She just had a bad dream."
"Poor Marisa."
"She'll be alright. She's strong. She can pull through this, we just have to make sure we're there for her when she needs us."
"Of course, I'll be there for her if she needs me."
"I'm glad she has her mother again. It was hard for her when her adoptive parents died."
"Yeah I can bet. Luckily she had you. I'm glad she got to know you."
"Me too. She's great. I'm glad she's my daughter."
"Me too. There's no one else I would rather have a daughter with."
"Me neither."
They fell back asleep and didn't wake up until their alarms went off. Callen and Sara got showered and had breakfast. Just before they left Callen went to check on Marisa. Marisa was just waking up.
"Hey dad," Marisa spoke when Callen walked into the room.
"Hey Marisa, did you sleep okay?"
"Yes, after the nightmare I slept better."
"Good. Your mom and I have to go to work. Will you be okay here on your own?"
"I'll be fine dad. Don't worry. I promise to take it easy."
"Alright. You can call us if you need us."
"I will dad. Have a good day at work."
"See ya."
Callen and Sara went to work.
"How's Ms. Mathews doing?" Hetty asked as Callen walked into her office.
"She's doing better. Still got a long way to go but she's slowly moving forward."
"That's good to hear. And how are you and Ms. Gonzalez doing?"
"We're doing fine. We've got together to deal with this."
"So things are going good between you two?"
"Yes things are good."
"I'm glad to hear that." Hetty gave Callen a smile. Callen smiled back and left the office.
Marisa just watched some TV on the couch. She only got up when she needed to. She hated sitting at home but she knew she needed to allow her body to heal. But this wasn't something for her. She definitely got this from her father. She just wanted to go bad to work and leave this all behind her. She didn't want to admit it, but she still was weak. Just walking to the kitchen and getting something to eat and walk back to the couch was a bit exhausting for her. There was nothing good on TV. After about an hour of flicking through channels she decided to grab her laptop. She might as well brush up on some of her languages while she was sidelined.
Callen and Sara had a pretty quiet day at work so they decided to go to the gym to work out. They sparred together. Callen was really impressed by her fighting skills, just like he remembered them to be. She was a good match for him. It was 2-2 and they just started the last round. It was a pretty even round until Sara swept Callen's legs away and threw him on his back. She sat on top of him.
"If you wanted to be on top, all you had to do was ask," Callen joked.
"You're funny."
Callen sat up and gave her a kiss.
"G, we can't do that here."
"You're right. I just got distracted by your beauty."
"You're a little charmer, you know that."
"I try."
Callen gave her one small kiss before they got up and got showered.
It was just before 6pm when Callen and Sara walked into the house. The house was dark and there was no one to be seen.
