Mass Effect Shepard Rises.
He and his team had spent the better part of two hours running around repairing well he didn't know what he relied on those in his team to know what they were doing might have to get Tali to show me a thing or two about computers and hacking he thought to himself as he waited for the tram to arrive at Rift station, with the help off peak 15 V.I he had learned that some sort of containment failure had placed the whole station on lockdown between what the V.I had said and the number of bodies scattered around it seemed peak 15 science teams were experimenting with Rachni, he was also concerned that Benezia wasn't here to help contain the situation and if he had to fight her he wouldn't be up to the task the corner of his vision was slightly blurry, Kaidan had given him a chocolate bar and it had helped so if he saved his energy and relied more on his soldier skills he should be ok.
He felt the tram start to slow down so he looked over to were "ok people get ready, this lovely ride is soon coming to the end." He and his team pulled out there weapons, he looked towards Wrex and laughed at his pink gun that Garrus had re sprayed in vengeance for Wrex drawing on Garrus face when he was asleep, Wrex looked up from his weapon and meet Shepard's eyes with his own blood red eyes.
"Something funny Shepard?" he asked.
"N-no Wrex not at all." He said as he tried to straighten his face, he ignored Wrex and bent down to pick up his helmet and placed it over his head he hated helmets yes they offered protection but the draw back was they cut your field of vision down so you had to move your head a lot more in battle, the tram slowed to a stop so he stood up and made for the door which opened with a hiss.
Outside the tram station was deathly silent only the sound of their boots on the metal walk way was heard over the hum of the stations electronics ahead of him was a door he slowly walked up to it and hit the interface, inside was a security station a mangled body still sat in the chair dried blood was on the wall behind were his head would have been found, he heard a gasp from behind him and turned slightly to see Liara with her hand over her open mouth "Hey come on," he urged as he walked to the door past the security station. He walked through the door to find two elevators one marked hot labs the other house staff barracks the hot labs door flashed red so he walked towards the other door and stepped into the elevator he team stepping in behind him except Tali who stood next to him and as the elevator rose into the air bumped her hands and hip against his.
"Sorry commander." She whispered seductively.
He turned to her and gave her a small wink "no problem miss Rayya" he whispered back and turned back to the door as it opened with a hiss. He through the door and saw two stacks of creates stacked to create a barrier.
"Stop right there." A voice shouted out from behind cover as a small team of armed men jumped up from behind cover.
He and his team reacted immediately and raised their weapons, he watched as a man in white heavy armour stepped out from cover and walked two steps towards him and spoke in a calm voice.
"Ah the great commander Shepard finally comes, the mistress gave us orders to kill you I'm afraid."
He locked eyes with the man "you don't have to do this." He said hoping to try and get through to the man his rifle never left its mark and if he pulled the trigger the slug would end up right between the man's eyes.
"Don't I, you have no idea who or what you are dealing with. FIRE"
As soon as the command left the man's mouth he pulled the trigger and watched as the space between his eyes opened up exposing a small portion of the man's brains, his team took care of the man's team easily enough but a few shoots had drained Liara's shields, he stepped passed the barricade with his team following behind him when a screech echoes out from somewhere around them, he and his team stopped and raised their rifles and looked around the room looking for any hidden threats, seeing nothing he slowly stepped forward towards the door and opened it to find a short hallway he stepped through and had a quick glance around there were a number of windows but from what he could see were either blocked by the snow or creaked as he stepped into the room he heard an almost slight click noise he raised his fist and lifted up his rifle scanning the room he looked over his shoulder and whispered.
"did any of you hear that?" he asked and watched as they all shook their heads he turned and started to walk forward again when he heard an swish in the air his instincts kicked in and he dodged to the left but not before a sharp tentical slashed his chest cutting into his armour easily, he watched as a large Rachni jumped through the floor acting quickly he and his team raised their rifle's and fired till the Rachni was nothing more a mess of flesh.
Tali and Kaidan were kneeling before him and unlocking the front of his armour before he lowered his rifle he hissed in pain as his chest piece was lifted of his chest and placed on the floor, he looked down and saw a nasty gash running from his left boob downwards he watched as Kaidan looked at the cut from different angles and then scan his Omni-tool over the wound and looked at the reading.
"Ok should be fine commander with some Medi-gel but you will need to see Chakwas when we return to the Normandy or it will get infected."
He nodded "Thanks Kaidan." He picked up his chest piece and clicked it back onto his chest and stood hissing in pain as he did, he nodded to Tali as he did to let her know he was ok and started to move past the dead Rachni and down the hallway to the door and opened it.
The room beyond was a complete mess dead Rachni lay among dead peak 15 employees there blood mixing together on the floor turning it almost pitch black a few lights flickered around the room.
"Goddess, all these lives gone and for what." Liara said.
He looked back at her "Liara I know it's tough but ignore the dead, we can't help them." He watched as Liara took a deep breath and nodded. Together he and his team made it through all the dead bodies and came across five asari commando's two of them raised their hands and formed a biotic shield, the leader of the group stepped forward and sneered at them.
"So this is Shepard and his team of aliens, a suit rat, a Krogan a turian and not forgetting a asari traitor pathetic, I won't ask you to leave I know you won't so least you can do is die painfully."
He feels himself slammed to the ground and as his vision clears he raises his rifle and joins his team shooting at the barrier but the bullets bounce harmlessly off it "Damn this isn't working, Wrex any ideas?" he turns to Wrex who is behind cover next to his.
"Just one." He says with a grin as he jumps to his feet and charges at the asari "I AM KROGAN."
He shakes his head and turns to Liara and Kaidan "I need you two to get those commando's to drop the shield, while I engage the leader." He watches them both nod so he turns to the battle and jumps up and charges at the purple asari leader who is hiding behind cover trying to get into the safety of the barrier, he slams into her at full force and smashes his rifle to her face but she hits hit with a biotic powered fist before he can do any real damage to her face and he lands on the floor with a thump slowly he gets to his feet and clutches his side in pain.
"Come now that the best you can do?" she taunts.
He smiles and runs towards her powering his own biotic's and barrier he barely slows when she fires her shotgun at him his shields deplete but his barrier remains strong and once he is within arm's reach he smacks her shotgun out the way and punches her in her chest as she leans forward and cover her chest he grips her neck and twists snapping it with ease, he looks around the two asari are still within their barrier safe with a snarl he throws out both arms and the two asari go flying through the air and hit the wall behind them, he drops to his knees as his team finish of the two and he quickly pulls off his helmet and throws up on the floor as blood drips from his nose.
As he struggles to control his breath he feels a three fingered hand on his head "Shepard" he looks up at Tali and smiles.
"Hey." He says as he wipes his mouth on his arm and struggles to stand.
"Easy there sir what did I say about pushing yourself."
He turns to Kaidan and shrugs "Sorry" he mutters as he places his helmet back on and looks over his team, a few of them are cut or covered in dried blood nothing to serious and Tali looks unharmed just a bit messy, he nods to the door and walks up to it and opens it.
Beyond is a large room with a huge glass tank walkways and computer terminals surround the tank and two huge acid tanks are held above it with tubes connecting them to the tank on one of the walkways is a blue asari that Liara recognises.
"Mother."
