15 minutes after Leaf's showing, Ashley was called up. When she entered the arena, she heard a lot of catcalls and more than a few propositions that shouldn't be recorded, quickly followed by resounding slaps and punches, courtesy of the culprits' girlfriend. Ashley ignored all of them, instead taking her time to walk to the centre of the arena, letting the crowd's temporary distractions come to a close and their focus return to her. When she had the crowd's attention, she tossed her pokéball in the air above her as she said, "Alright! It's your turn to steal the spotlight Braviary!" making reference to the phrase that the redhead in a gaudy getup had said prior to her performance mere minutes beforehand. When the pokéball burst open a mass of blue, red and white confetti exploded outwards, concealing Braviary, who flew from it at an already impressive speed before coming to perch on Ashley's shoulders.

In the competitor's waiting room, Leaf thought, 'She uses seals as well?'

Next to her, Marina said, "She's good," as Mikki, in her seat, held her head in her hands, not wanting to watch.

"Yeah," Leaf agreed, "especially when you consider the colours of the confetti that that seal generated."

"The colours?"

"Yeah. Normally, the colour of the confetti used is restricted to one colour only, red, blue, white or yellow. But hers used three of the four colours."

"Eh? So how did she…"

"Apparently she can combine her seals like I do."

"You do? I thought that you only bought standard seals when we were in the Orre Region."

"I did. That burst of water that Starmie came out from was a mashup of the Burst and Liquid Seals that I bought there."

"Wait! So you're saying that you can use more than one Seal at a time?"

"Yeah, technically you can use a maximum of eight, but the effect tends to be garbled and you end up losing points from it. That's why, in my opinion, the fewer used the better." Then they looked at the screen and saw Ashley being held up by Braviary, about twenty metres above the arena floor.

While Leaf and Marina had been talking, Ashley had been very busy giving commands to Braviary. After Braviary had come to rest on her shoulders she said, "Alright Braviary, use Crush Claw!" stunning both the crowd and the judges at her apparent lunacy, as most of the audience, and all of the judges, were aware that Crush Claw was more of a slashing attack than a clutch. Because of this, the already powerful claws were sharpened by an immense amount. To their shock, the claws started to glow blue and seemed to get bigger, but that was it. Nothing happened to Ashley, or her dress. "Now, Steel Wing." At the command, Braviary's wings took on a metallic sheen, but didn't turn the gray that they would have normally. Instead they remained the same colour as they normally were.

The people in the grandstands couldn't see the transformation, so thought that nothing had happened and started to mutter and giggle amongst themselves, though there were more women than men joining in the practice, still annoyed with what happened when Ashley had first entered the arena. The judges though, had a very different reaction. They were impressed, very much so. All three judges had the exact same thought rush through their mind, 'How did she just do that?'

"Now," Ashley announced, loud enough to be heard all through the arena, even over the voices of her doubters. She pointed up and said, "Lights!" causing every light in the arena to turn off, plunging the arena into darkness. She whispered to Braviary, "Alright, fly up, just like we practiced." Braviary called out through the darkness before flying up twenty metres above where they were and stayed there, the only sound its flapping wings. That didn't last long as the crowd started to talk amongst themselves, concerned that there might have been a blackout, or something wrong with the arena's electrical systems.

Ashley's voice broke through the darkness. She said, "Braviary, use Sunny Day!" All of a sudden, from the darkness, burst 21 balls of light, lighting up the entire arena. They were being generated by the original Braviary that was in the centre of a ring of twenty other Braviary. Then, all twenty one orbs were shot at one point above the originals. They collided and exploded into a ball of light that illuminated the Braviary, whose metallic wings reflected the light onto Ashley, painting her dress blue, red, purple and white, mesmerising the audience at the feat. Their attention was drawn away from Ashley however as the clones started to fly around the arena in groups, projecting large splashes of colour over the audience, though they somehow never mixed together. Then they did. Somehow they managed to extract a yellow tone, letting the colours mix together, ending with a montage of different colours on the bare wall of the arena.

All of the Braviary then flew back down to the arena floor, flying into the original Braviary, causing the audience, and judges to become wary of Braviary's still glowing claws shearing through Ashley's shoulder. The sight making them completely forget that there could only be one actual Braviary and the rest of them were created by the use of Double Team, not that anyone had heard Ashley tell Braviary to use the technique. It also served to alerting the audience, and the judges, to the fact that Ashley and the original Braviary hadn't been in the sky ever since the light show started.

When Ashley didn't say anything else Cerian walked over to her and said, "And there you have it folks. Another light display, this time from a Sinnoh native." The crowd didn't know how to react. They'd gone through a torrent of emotions, from lust/hate, to worry, to wonderment, then happiness, then back to worry again. The Ex-Coordinator's in the audience, and the fans of the Contest Circuit cheered while the audience members that just came to see what it was, or something to do, remained quiet. "That was one excellent performance Ashley, and I think that I'd like to offer you the same one I did Leaf earlier."

"Uhh…no thanks," Ashley said, politely declining the offer.

"Well, like with Leaf, the offer is always open. In any case, I think that everyone in the audience will want to know what the judges think about this performance!"

In the rooms Miranda said, "That was just like yours Leaf!"

"No," Leaf said, a jealous fury coming over her. "That bitch made mine look amateurish."

"But…" Marina said, about to try to defend her friend's performance, not liking the mood that her friend was in. The last time that that had happened, her friend had completely lost it and took it out on the next twelve trainers that they came across.

"I had to command Starmie while it was doing its thing, drawing the audience's attention back to me every so often. Ashley made it so that they were only focusing on Braviary's clones. They didn't even notice that she wasn't there!"

"Well, even so…"

Mikki just groaned in pained agony, knowing that her performance, which was similar to both Leaf's and Ashley's paled in comparison to theirs.

Back in the arena, Mr. Contesta said, "An astounding performance that tells me that you are a natural. I find it hard to believe that I've never seen or heard of you in all my years judging these competitions."

"Well…" Ashley shrugged, scratching the back of her head. "…something happened, which caused me to take a different path."

Mr. Contesta said, "Well the Contest Circuit has been the poorer for it," aggravating every Coordinator in the waiting room.

Ashley thought, 'I just know that that's not going to go over well in that room.'

Cerian said, "Now, the Goldenrod City Nurse Joy!"

"That was an impressive way to display Braviary's strength and control. Well done."

"Thank you," Ashley said.

Cerian said, "Now, the Mayor!"

"You managed to manipulate the audience's, and out, emotions, as well as our attention. If you ever want to consider a career outside of Pokémon, my door is always open."

"Uhh…" Ashley said, a sweatdrop forming on the side of her forehead at getting the exact same offers from Cerian and the mayor that her old…friend…had, though they had separated as little more than acquaintances.

"Now," Cerian said, "The scores are…" three tens lit up on the front of the judges' desks.

Ashley smirked dangerously, spreading fear into the Coordinators still waiting to do their performances, before leaving the arena. On her way through the hallway she passed Mikki, who glared daggers at her. Ashley said, "Calm down Mikki. Just remember, right now, I've got the same goal as you do." The stress left Mikki's face as she realised that Ashley was right. Even if Ashley's performance did get a perfect score, they were still both challengers. As Mikki walked to the centre of the stage Ashley passed the waiting room, instead heading to the changerooms in order to change out of her dress, as she still found it incredibly uncomfortable to walk around in those heels. When she re-entered the competitors' waiting room, every Coordinator in the room was glaring at her. She shrugged it off like nothing and sat back down at the seat that she had been sitting in before, her face glued to the screen, not wanting to miss any more of her sisters friend's performance than she likely already had.
