Mass Effect Shepard Rises.
Shepard had decided to spend what little time he had with Tali before Ilos to learn how to overload Geth and turn his Omni-tool into a weapon against synthetics, it was tough going even with someone as experienced as Tali showing him.
Tali had deployed a Geth drone she had salvaged from the battle to doctor T'soni, hacking proved to be a difficult problem for him the first couple of tries had ended up with him being shocked "Ah god damn it." He cursed as he was shocked again by the flying pest.
"It all takes time John, I have made things easier for you by optimising the program to be very simple."
He nodded at her "I know and I thank you so shall we go again?" he asked as her raised his Omni-tool and looked over to Tali who nodded he turned back to his Omni-tool and locked onto the Flying Geth drone and went through the program like Tali told him he watched as a small timer appeared and started to count down he hit the overload button and watched with a smile as the Geth drone suddenly sparked and dropped to the floor with a thud.
"Well done John see that wasn't so bad was it?" as she ran towards him and threw herself at him and wrapping her arms around his waist.
He went to reply but was cut off by Jokers voice coming over the intercom.
"Commander sorry to disturb you, but with the help of Liara I believe we have pinpointed Ilos sensors are picking up some strange readings."
John looked over at Tali who shrugged her shoulders "What sort of strange readings."
"I'm not sure but it seems to be coming from the second planet in the system."
He nodded to himself "Ok set a course I will be right there have the stealth system engaged." He heard what sounded like a snort over the com and then Jokers voice again.
"Please commander do you know who you are talking to."
John shook his head then reached over to his terminal and cut the com off, he looked over at Tali "Go get ready it's time." He watched as she nodded and ran out the room.
Once she was gone he stripped out his cloths and put on his armour underlay and then attached his armour piece by piece lastly he picked up his helmet and pulled it over his head and locket it into place and head towards the cockpit.
As he looked out the windows on the cockpit he could see an orange planet getting closer and closer around the planet he could see moving ships at least 20 of them getting bigger and bigger "Can they see us? He asked as he placed a hand on Jokers chair.
"No sir according to sensors we aren't here but if they look out a window then we are screwed."
A Voice behind him made him look over his shoulder as Tali came into the cockpit her suit looked bulkier and he could see armour plating added onto her suit.
"Geth don't believe in windows they are a weakness in battle."
He nodded "So any life signs on the planet." He moved out the way as Pressly came into the cockpit and sat down at the co-pilots chair, he watched as the orange screen in front of him showed a picture of the planet turning slowly.
"Only one life sign on planet but I'm picking up a hundreds of synthetic signatures and a number of Prothean power signatures as well although they are faint."
He nodded "That must be Saren. Joker…" he never got the chance to finish as he was cut off.
"Way ahead of you commander." Joker said as his hands flew over the pilot terminal.
"There are no landing sites in that area for the MAKO scanning for an alternate one."
Shepard watched as Pressly searched and searched unable to find one "Here what about there?" he asked pointing to what looked like a small runway.
"No good commander that's not even twenty foot long."
Shepard slammed his armoured fist into the wall "Damn it Pressly find me another landing zone."
"I can't there isn't one, I have found one a few clicks out."
"I can do it"
Shepard stopped is pacing and looked at Joker as he turned in his chair to look at him "What did you say?" he asked as he folded his arms across his chest.
"I can do it" Joker repeated.
Shepard looked Joker square in the eyes before he nodded "Ok do what you have to." He walked over to the com system and hit the button "Garrus prep the Mako we are going in hot, make sure there plenty of Omni-gel and Medi-gel on board."
"You got it Shepard."
Shepard cut the com and turned to Joker "If you lose sight of our life signs get the hell out of here and meet with Admiral Hackett." He turned on his heel and walked down the CIC closely followed by Tali, they both headed down the stairs and towards Shepards Locker.
Shepard pulled out every SPECTRE grade weapon he had and strapped them to his back and legs once done he nodded to Tali and pulled out a SPECTRE grade shotgun and pistol "Here these are for you should give you an edge on the planet." He watched as she strapped the shotgun to the small of her back and the pistol on her toned and muscled thigh with a nod they both stepped away from the locker and headed towards the elevator.
Cronsos station.
The illusive man sat in his chair as usual the terminal in front of him casting an orange glow across his office he watched as the terminal connected with Miranda.
"Yes sir." He voice came over the com.
He lit a cigar and took a drag "I need you to take a shuttle and take command of Project dragon once done review the data and get back to me."
"Yes sir I will leave in an hour once I have my things ready."
The illusive man nodded and lifted his whiskey to his mouth and took a drink of the cool liquid he cut the connection, he reached across to his terminal and pulled up the latest from Project Overlord and set up a connection to the head scientist and waited for the connection to establish.
"Yes sir to what do I owe the pleasure." A voice rang out over the speakers.
"Dr Archer how goes the latest test on the Geth." He asked as he swirled his whiskey in his hand.
"The Geth are incredible Sir from what we can gather they are unable to be hacked for extended periods of time as they have a backup in place."
The project should have been simple take control of the Geth whatever the cost but it seemed everywhere he turned people were letting him and humanity down gritting his teeth he spoke "You have had the Geth unit now for months are you telling me there is no way to control them? Are you prepared to face the punishment for your failure." over the com he could hear the man swallow hard and cough to clear his throat.
"N-no S-sir we err will do whatever it takes to control the Geth."
The illusive man could hear the fear in the man's voice "Good if you need more units let me know and I will see what can be arranged but for your sake as well as your families I hope you get results." He terminated the connection before he got a reply and stood up and walked over to the window overlooking the pulsating star below if I control the Geth and use them to destroy the scum aliens of the galaxy, then Cerberus will rule and my word will be law he thought to himself.
Normandy.
Shepard, Tali, Garrus and Wrex all sat in the MAKO awaiting on Joker to give the go ahead the cargo bay around them was silent Shepard had wanted to only bring Tali and Garrus but Wrex had been quite insistent that a walking tank would prove useful.
Ahead the cargo bay doors opened and Shepard silently counted down with joker over the com.
"Right commander and deploy on my mark 3 2 and mark."
Shepard hit the throttle and the MAKO shot forward out the Normandy and free fell towards the small clearing.
"Damn Shepard I knew you were crazy but this is a whole new level of crazy."
Shepard tried to ignore Garrus and hit the button that activated the descent thrusters "Tali how we doing?" he asked in a calm voice that surprised even him.
"We are coming in to hot our descent angle is to steep."
Shepard looked at the monitor that control the angle of the fall and hit the rear thrusters for two seconds and watched as the screen flashed green.
SAREN.
Saren stood in front of the ancient door as his Geth went about opening it, he watched as the mindless machines worked quickly and the door opened with a loud.
A loud roar behind him caught his attention and he watched as a metal tank fell from the human ship Normandy he turned from the sight and quickly ran through the door "shut this door now." He heard a few clicks coming from a white armoured Geth and watched as the Geth used its Omni-tool to close the door just as the Tank slammed into the ground and smashed into the now closed door.
Saren raised his own Omni-tool and got in touch with one of the many ships in orbit "This is Saren deploy all colossus Geth and hunters along my current path." A deep synthetic voice replied to him.
"Order acknowledged Prophet Saren."
With a smile Saren lowered his mechanical arm and jumped onto his floating hover board and speed down the narrow passage.
MAKO.
Shepard slammed his fist on the controls as the doors slammed shut in front of him unable to slow the MAKO down enough the front of the Tank slammed into the now closed stone door "Damn it so close, everybody out." He and his team jumped out the MAKO and walked to the door. He watched as Tali walked up to the door with her Omni-tool raised.
"I am picking up a power source coming from that direction."
Shepard watched as she pointed behind her to a gap in between two stone pillars that were overgrown with moss and leaves, around him building stood decaying and overgrown the air itself was very dry with very little moisture "What about the Normandy can we blast the door open." He watched as Garrus decided to have a look at the door himself before shaking his head.
"No way the roof would collapse before we even moved an inch we could use the MAKO cannon I have made some improvements to it although might just be easier to find this power source and see what we have got."
Shepard nodded to himself then looked back at the door "Ok Garrus you stay her and keep the MAKO running, man the turret and if anything gets close turn it into scrap, Wrex, Tali your with me." With that he raised his assault and at a slow jog walked towards the small gap between the two pillars. ahead of him was a passage way to the left and to the right a door with a red flickering light down the middle stood in front of him a buzzing and clicking noise alerted him to Geth that seemingly appeared out of nowhere without missing a beat his team opened fire on the machines.
Shepard ran forward glowing purple as he ran towards stone that had fallen from the decaying buildings raising his right hand he threw a warp field at a Geth and watched as it hit the metal body and exploded, ducking behind cover he pulled his knife from his boot and threw it at a Geth hopper hanging from the wall he raised his rifle to his shoulder and took aim at a white Geth trying to walk and shoot towards cover taking a deep breath he pulled the trigger and watched with a smile as the glowing light on the Geths head sparked and dimmed before it fell from the body and onto the grassy floor.
"All clear cough cough"
Shepard nodded to Tali and placed a hand on her shoulder "You okay?" he asked knowing she was ill from removing her mask on the Normandy.
"Yeah just a mild fever and a cough."
Shepard nodded and give her slender shoulder a squeeze before he nodded towards the door "Can you open it?" he asked and let her go as she walked toward the door with Omni-tool raised and flicked it from left to right then shake her head.
"Not from here."
He nodded and keyed in the frequency for the Normandy "Joker we seem to have hit a snag can you scan the area and find us a route to the power source."
"Roger Shepard scanning... right sending you an updated route now."
he looked to his Omni-tool and watched as the map update itself and watched as a yellow line appeared "Right follow me, but keep your eyes open." with that he followed the small map on his HUD.
so so so sorry for the delay had a real problem with my laptop and windows 8. what a joke it decided to delete everything and according to were I got it from there was nothing a matter with it damn currys anyway let me know what you think about this chapter.
