Sara looked as the other's faces when dark. "Who's Janvier?"
"My nemeses," Callen replied, without taking his eyes of the screen. "What do we know about the escape Eric?"
"He killed 3 guards on his way out and took off in a police car, which was found ditched about 2 miles further. Unfortunately there are no cameras in that area so we have no idea where he is. We've got kaleidoscope searching for him and we've notified TSA, border patrol and such to keep an eye out for him."
"Find him, fast, Mr. Callen," Hetty spoke to him. "We don't want a repeat of what happened last time."
Callen sighed remembering what had happened last time Janvier was in his life. What if he went after Sara or Marisa this time? He needed to find him and fast. Callen turned around and addressed Sara and Marisa.
"I don't want you two leaving this office you hear me."
Marisa nodded. "What about Zac, dad? If Janvier finds out about him he might go after him too," Marisa replied, concerned for Zac.
"Right, call him, have him come here."
"Mr. Callen, I don't know if that's such a good idea," Hetty stated, concerned for the secrecy of this team and the place of the office.
"Zac can be trusted Hetty, he knows that I'm a part of NCIS," Marisa replied. "Besides Janvier has been to the boatshed, he doesn't know the location of the office. The safest place it here."
"Alright, I suppose under these circumstances I will allow it. Mr. Callen, Mr. Hanna, retrieve Mr. Jenkins, but do so discretely."
Callen nodded before he and Sam left. Kensi and Deeks went out to check to crime scene. Sara and Marisa stayed upstairs to help Nell and Eric with trying to find Janvier.
"What happened between G and Janvier?" Sara asked.
"It's a long story. It all started with Callen putting a bullet in Janvier's jaw. Ever since that he swore for revenge. The first time he was back he tricked us with a Swedish Interpol Agent. Dad almost had him at that point. He returned a few months later and he killed Agents Renko and Hunter to get to dad. He almost killed Sam, Kensi and Deeks as well. They made a plan which involved dad shooting him in broad daylight. Dad was arrested and part of the plan was to have him to be a disgraced agent so they could get Naseem Vaziri. They made it look like dad killed Janvier but that wasn't the case so they traded dad for Janvier to Vaziri. Vaziri became Janvier's enemy and Vaziri took him with him to Iran. About a year after that we needed Janvier and Vaziri to track down Sidarov and the missing nukes. So dad and Kensi went to Iran to get Janvier. Vaziri had cut off one of Janvier's hands. The case went fine until Janvier betrayed the team. Sam and Michelle were working undercover with Sidarov and Janvier blew Sam's cover. Deeks was there as backup, since dad was with Janvier in the boatshed. Sam and Deeks were taken hostage and tortured all because Janvier told Sidarov Sam was an agent. We managed to get them out but not after Sidarov had already tortured them. It was pretty brutal. Dad blamed himself for not seeing that Janvier had betrayed them. Janvier escaped. Dad thought he was after him but it turns out in that case he was after Vaziri for revenge. They tracked him down to a house here in LA. Janvier had set a trap for Vaziri and he cut off both of Vaziri's hands. Dad went after him together with Granger. Janvier almost escaped but dad shot him as he was driving away, he wasn't killed. So he was placed into a maximum security prison. Dad went to see him the day he stepped into his cell. When dad left Janvier told him the game wasn't over yet. So now that he's out I'm sure he's gonna be looking for revenge against dad. He won't just go after dad but also everyone in dad's life."
"He didn't tell me about this."
"He didn't want to worry you, especially not now. Don't worry about dad mom, he can handle himself and Sam will not let him out of his sight right now."
"I just hope G can finish this so we don't have to look over our shoulders anymore."
"There's the thing. Janvier wants dad to kill him. He want him to finish with he started when he put the bullet in his jaw."
"Why doesn't G just shoot him then?"
"Cus that's what he wants. He begged dad to finish it when he shot him when Janvier was getting away in the car. It's not in dad just to kill him. But if he has to shoot him to keep any of us safe he wouldn't hesitate."
"I just hope this case is over with soon."
Callen and Sam arrived at Zac's office. Zac looked up when Callen and Sam stepped into his office.
"Hey, what are you doing here?" Zac asked, confused as to why Callen was standing in his office.
"There's a situation. We need to move you to a safe location."
"Is Marisa okay?" Zac asked, immediately concerned about his fiancé.
"She's fine. She'll explain later. Right now we need to get you somewhere safe."
Zac had no idea what was going on but if Marisa's dad came to get him it must be serious. Zac packed up his stuff and told his boss he was working from home for the rest of the day. Zac followed Callen and Sam to the car and got in the back. Callen handed him a black bag.
"Put this over your head, safety reason, so you can't tell anyone how you got to where we are taking you."
Zac reluctantly grabbed the bag and placed it over his head. 20 minutes later they pulled up to the mission. Callen took Zac inside. Once they were inside Callen removed to bag and they walked to the bullpen. Zac looked around astonished. This is where they worked?
"Make yourself comfortable on the couch," Callen told him before he disappeared upstairs. "Anything new up here?" Callen asked as he walked into OPS.
"Nope, still looking," Eric answered.
"Is Zac here with you dad?" Marisa asked.
"Yep, he's downstairs."
Marisa got up and headed downstairs.
"Hey Zac," Marisa greeted him.
"What is going on Marisa? Your dad came to get me telling I needed to go somewhere safe, and then he placed a bag over my head. What the hell is going on?"
"I can't tell you everything about the case but one of my dad's nemeses has escaped from prison. He swore he'd get his revenge on my dad so just as a precaution we've taken you here, so he can't hurt you."
"Would he come after me? How would he even know about me? And why would he come after me?"
"He wants me dad to suffer so he swore he would go after everyone in my dad's life before he went after him."
"Oh," was all Zac could say.
He had no idea what was going on but someone wanted to make Marisa's father suffer so he might come after him. Who the hell was this guy and why did he want to make Callen suffer so badly? Was this now part of his life since he was with Marisa?
"Don't worry Zac, we're gonna get him and make sure he's gone for good."
"What about you? You're not going out there are you?"
"No, dad doesn't want me or mom to leave this building."
"What is this building exactly?"
"Our office. It was an old water plant administration building, it was condemned after the Northridge quake."
"Condemned? Are we safe in here then?"
"Don't worry Zac. We fixed it up before we moved in here. It's only condemned on the outside. Nobody knows we're here."
"What's with all the secrecy?"
"We are a special unit OSP, office of special projects, we mostly do undercover work and such. That's why it's all so secret. Hardly anyone outside this office knows our real identities. That's why our apartment is listed under one of my aliases, as is my mom and dad's house. If someone were to find out about this location, our entire operation could be compromised. The more people know about us being federal agents, the more likely we're at risk when we go undercover. That's why we never have to testify in court."
"I understand. So this is where you work?"
"Yep, it is. I can show you around if you like."
"Sure."
They stood up together.
"This is the bullpen. This is where we work when we're not up in OPS or out in the field." They walked further. "This is the gadget room, it's more of the room for our tech guys." Over there is the wardrobe department and that is our boss' office." Zac looked and saw Hetty sitting in her chair. "Just be aware of her. She may be small but she's like a ninja."
"Noted."
They walked further and came to the gym.
"This is where we train."
"Awesome, you've got your own gym."
"Yep, we've got to keep our skills and condition up." They walked to the armory.
"Damn, you've got enough ammo here to supply an army."
"You never know when you need what."
"You know how to use all of these weapons?"
"Yes most of them."
"Wow," Zac replied astonished.
"And over here we have our gun range so we can practice our shooting. Would you like to try a round with a real gun?"
"Can I?"
"Sure, we have dummy bullets to practice with."
"Uhm sure, I guess I can give it a try."
They walked into the armory and Marisa handed him a headset and a pair of glasses
"Put these on, the noise is different in here than from the shooting arcade and to protect you from the flying cases."
Marisa hung up a target, put dummy bullets in her gun and took her stance.
"Observe how I do it."
Once the target was in place Marisa focused and emptied her gun. Zac jumped by the noise. It was way louder than at the arcade. Once it was empty Marisa brought the target back, all center mass hits.
"Nicely done. I think you killed him," Zac replied astonished.
"I can do this in my sleep. But it's a little different when you have someone shooting back at you or moving."
"I can tell you make a great federal agent."
"Thanks, I learned from the best, my dad. You wanna try?"
"Yeah sure."
Marisa reloaded her gun and hung up a new target.
"Keep the gun always pointed towards to range if there are bullets in it. Don't stand too close to the plank. When you are ready to shoot pull the safety down. Hold it with two hands. Take the gun in your shooting hand and put your other hand under the handle like this."
Zac held the gun just as Marisa told him.
"Now raise it up at about the height of your eyes so you can just look over the barrel. Line up your shot and pull the trigger but be aware of the back shot."
Zac did as Marisa told. He lined up his target and pulled the trigger. The back shot was bigger than he expected and the gun dropped out of his hands on the table.
"Sorry."
"It's okay. It's a little getting used to in the beginning."
"You didn't even flinch when you fired the gun."
"I've had years of practice."
"This is more your thing than mine."
"Yeah I guess it is."
Marisa took the gun and without looking she emptied her gun at the target. Zac was astonished when she hit all of them center mass.
"Wow you're good."
"Thanks, come on, let's go further."
They walked upstairs via the back stairs and came across OPS.
"This is where the magic happens. They are working right now so we can't go in. We've got the most state of the art technology in here. It's really awesome. They help us a lot with the cases."
"There you are," Sara spoke as she and Zac walked back into the bullpen.
"Hey Sara," Zac greeted her.
"Hey Zac."
"I was just showing Zac around. Where are dad and the others?"
"They are tracking down a lead. I just hope they can find him soon."
"Yeah me too."
"I just hope he'll be safe. I can't lose him."
"Don't worry. Dad will be fine."
"But he's out there and someone is after him," Sara cried.
"Don't worry mom. He'll be fine. Sam won't let him out of his sight. Dad can handle himself. If Janvier poses a threat dad won't hesitate to shoot him."
"I just hope they find him soon."
"Yeah me too. Why don't you go lay on the couch for a while I'll keep searching for new information."
"Alright."
Sara stood up and waddled over to the couch. She lay down and stroked her belly. She felt that the baby could feel here stress. Zac sat down on one of the chairs as Marisa sat behind her desk and started typing on her laptop.
A little later Callen and Sam walked back into the office.
"Did you find him?"
"Nope, not yet. We went to one of his associates and followed him for a while but no sign of Janvier." Callen looked over to the couch and saw Sara lying there. "Is she okay?"
"Yeah, just a little bit stressed."
Callen felt bad for putting this stress on her body. "Yeah this situation isn't good for her."
"Nope, it's not."
Callen walked over to the couch and kneeled down next to her.
"Hey honey."
"Hey G, did you get him?"
"No not yet, we're still looking. But don't worry, we'll get him."
"I hope so, it's not safe for you out there."
"I promise I'll be careful honey. I'll try not to get hurt."
"Good, cus I can't handle that right now."
"I promise I'll be careful honey." Callen gave her a kiss. "I love you, just relax here."
"I love you too."
"Take good care of mommy," Callen spoke to her stomach and gave it a kiss.
An hour later they had another lead on Janvier. Sara looked at Callen just before he left. Callen walked up to her before leaving.
"I promise I'll be careful honey."
"Don't worry Sara, I'll keep an eye on him," Sam told him.
"Dad, take me with you. I can help," Marisa argued with him.
"No, you're staying here, that's final."
"Come on dad. I can help."
"No. End of discussion."
"Fine. Whatever," Marisa replied and walked off.
Callen looked after his daughter. He didn't want to fight. But he was doing this to keep her safe. Sometimes she was hard to deal with considering she had the same character as him. Callen sighed and followed Sam out the door.
Marisa walked to the gym and changed into her work out clothes. She might as well get some exercise while she was stuck in her. She put on her gloves and went to the fighting machine.
After about 15 minutes Zac came to look for her. He looked at her as she was fighting. He had never seen her fight like that. She looked good but he could tell that something was bothering her.
"You okay Mari?" Zac asked causing Marisa to stop.
"I just don't understand why I couldn't go with. I'm a good agent, I can take care of myself."
"I'm sure you can. I'm sure your father is just trying to protect you."
"But I could be useful out there. An extra set of hands and gun."
"I know Mari, I know. Your father is just trying to protect you. He can't have you there in danger while he's focusing on bringing him down."
"I know. It just sucks."
"I know. Let's just hope this is over soon."
"Yeah me too. I'm just gonna hit the showers. Can you check on my mom?"
"Sure."
Marisa kissed him before she disappeared into the showers.
Callen, Sam, Kensi and Deeks arrived at the address that Eric and Nell had giving them, it was a house in Inglewood.
"Why would he hide out here?" Kensi asked, not feeling comfortable with the situation.
"I don't know, but this is where Nell and Eric tracked him," Callen replied, not feeling comfortable himself.
Callen picked the lock and they moved in.
"Clear," all 4 agents spoke.
"No one's here G," Sam stated.
"It's weird," Deeks spoke.
"Why would Janvier sent us here if there's nothing here?"
"There must be something here," Callen replied. "Search everything."
They turned the whole place upside down but there was nothing.
"There has to be something," Callen spoke.
"What if this was just a way to lure us out?"
"Why would he do that?" Kensi asked.
"Sara and Marisa!" Callen replied suddenly worried for them.
"He doesn't know where they are G, they are safe at the office."
"You don't know that, he could have found them somehow." Callen pulled out his phone and called Marisa.
"Hey dad," Marisa answered as she picked up the phone. "Did you get him?"
"No, he's not here. How's everything there?"
"It's fine."
"Nothing out of the ordinary?"
"Dad, what is going on?"
"We think Janvier might have lured us here to get to you guys."
"Dad, we're at the office, no one knows about this location."
"He could have found out."
"We are find dad, don't worry about us. Everything is fine here. I'll have Eric and Nell search the area for anything suspicious just in case."
"Alright, thanks. We're headed back."
"Alright."
Marisa hung up the phone and headed upstairs and asked Nell and Eric to look around. There was nothing suspicious going on outside there. Marisa went outside and did a security sweep on the outside. Everything looked fine."
It was almost 6pm so Callen and Sam brought dinner with them on their way back to the office. Nell and Eric quickly finished their meals and went back upstairs. By 7 they had another lead. Callen was reluctant to leave the office.
"It's okay dad. We'll be fine. Janvier doesn't know about this place. And if he were to come here we can protect ourselves. Hetty and Nell are here too and they know how to fire weapons too. We'll all be downstairs and I'll send Sara and Zac upstairs to OPS so they'll be safe there."
"Alright thank you."
Just after the others had left the power went out.
"Oh bugger," Hetty spoke. "Ms. Jones, go check the circuit breaker."
"What if it's Janvier?" Nell asked.
"We'll be fine. Just take your firearm with you."
Nell took a flashlight and her gun and left. Hetty was downstairs and Marisa kept watch just outside of OPS. Marisa ducked into OPS to make sure everything was okay there. OPS still had power, it was on a different circuit as the rest of the building. Zac looked at her as she walked in. He was a bit scared. He noticed all the guns she had on her.
"Do you really need all of those?" Zac asked.
"Better safe than sorry. How's it looking in here Eric?"
"Good, nothing on the cameras so far."
Just as Eric said that the cameras went down.
"What's going on Eric?"
"I don't know. I can't get them back on."
"Stay here, lock it down. Mom do you have your gun?"
"Yes I have it."
"Alright, just in case."
"Stay here."
Marisa walked out of OPS and looked over the railing. She saw Hetty standing there.
"Anything down there Hetty?"
"No, nothing yet Ms. Mathews."
"The cameras have just been disabled. He could be on his way."
"I'll keep my eyes open."
Marisa had her gun in her hand and looked around. Everything looked fine. Just seconds later the glass shattered and smoke bombs were tossed into the building. Luckily Marisa had retrieved the goggles from the armory. She put them on and saw a couple figures walking into the building via the back door. She looked around for Hetty and saw her ducked behind the stairs.
Marisa grabbed her rifle and shot at the figures.
Sara, Zac and Eric shot up when they heard the gunfire. Sara quickly grabbed her phone and called Callen.
"G, you have to come back here. Janvier is here."
"Are you okay?"
"Zac, Eric and I are locked up in OPS. We're fine."
"Alright hang in there. We'll be there as soon as we can."
Sam drove as fast as he could to the office. Guns ready they moved into the building. They saw the damage as they walked into the building. Callen immediately walked upstairs and went to OPS. The door wouldn't open so he knocked on the door.
"Sara, are you in there? Are you alright?"
"G, we're fine," Sara's voice sounded from the other side of the door.
Eric opened the door. Sara flew in Callen's arms.
"Are you okay?" Callen asked concerned.
"I'm fine. Where's Marisa?"
At that moment Sam came upstairs. "We've looked everywhere G. We can't find Hetty, Nell or Marisa."
