Marisa kept firing her weapon at them. She ducked behind one of the pillars when she had to reload. She looked around to where Nell and Hetty were. She saw them ducked away and firing back whenever they could. She counted at least 5 men. She looked over the OPS and was satisfied when she saw that the door was still closed. She knew they would have a hard time getting in there. Suddenly she felt herself getting dizzy and she fell to the ground. Seconds later everything went black.
…..
"What?! Where are they?" Sara asked panicked.
"Calm down Sara, we will find them."
Sara walked back into OPS and sat down on the chair.
"How the hell did they find this place?" Sam asked.
"I have no idea. Or… Maybe he tracked us when we went over to the house." Suddenly Callen bolted down the stairs. His partner, not sure what was going on, followed him.
He found Callen looking at Sam's car.
"What are you doing G?" Sam wondered.
"This," Callen replied as he held up a bug. "He must have placed it there when we were in the house. I'll get this to Eric, maybe he can find out where the signal is coming from."
Callen walked back inside followed by Sam. As they were walking in they heard a noise coming from one of the back rooms. Guns ready they moved towards the sound. Sam opened the door as Callen covered him. They found Nell and Hetty inside of there.
"Are you okay?" Callen asked concerned as he walked in.
"Yes, we're fine Mr. Callen," Hetty answered as Callen helped them up. "Where's Ms. Mathews?"
"I think Janvier took her, we can't find her anywhere."
"She'll be fine Mr. Callen."
…..
Marisa woke up in a dark room. She tried to move but she felt that he arms and legs were tied to something. She looked around, trying to see where she was.
'I hope mom, Zac and Eric are okay,' Marisa thought to herself.
She wondered if Nell and Hetty were there with her too. She hoped Callen would find her soon, before Janvier decided to torture her.
…..
Callen paced across OPS as he waited for any new about Marisa, Nell and Hetty. Eric was getting nervous by Callen's presence.
"Pacing around me is not helping me work any faster," Eric spoke.
"Sorry I just wanna find them."
"I understand. I'm working as fast as I can."
"I know Eric, just let me know when you have something," Callen replied and walked out of OPS.
"Any news?" Sara asked as Callen walked into the bullpen.
"No, nothing yet. Eric is working as fast as he can."
"I hope we'll find them soon," Sara cried.
"We will honey, I promise," Callen told her as he pulled her in for a hug. "You just try to relax. This stress isn't good for you or the baby."
"I'll try."
"Can you keep an eye on her Zac?"
"Of course."
Callen walked back upstairs to see if there was any new information.
"How's it looking Eric?"
"I'm narrowing it down. I'd say about 30 minutes to an hour until I have the address. Trust me I'm working as hard as I can."
"I know Eric. Just find them fast."
…
Marisa was trying to get out of her cuffs but she couldn't move her hands. She tried to get to the bobby pin under her watch but she couldn't get there.
"Damn," Marisa cursed.
The door cracked open and they saw Janvier stepping in.
"Janvier," Marisa spoke with bitterness in her voice. "If you do anything to hurt my parents I will kill you."
"You are not in the position to make any threats."
"I swear, if you hurt them I will hunt you down. Even if you kill me I will haunt you from the grave."
"Though words for someone who is tied up. You really are just like your father."
"You keep your hands off of him you hear me," Marisa spat at him.
"Maybe I should start with your pregnant mother or your boyfriend first."
"You leave them alone!" Marisa snapped as she fought her restraints. She tried her best to get loose but it just wasn't working. "My father will find me and when he does he'll make you pay."
"He has to find you first," Janvier spoke with a sick grin that sent shivers down Marisa's spine. "But first we're gonna have some fun."
Janvier motioned to one of his men and he stepped forward and punched Marisa in the face. After a few punches she spit the blood from her mouth over to Janvier.
"If you're man enough and really want to punish my father you'll hit me and not let some other goon do it. Or are you too afraid?"
"Afraid? Of you? You're tied up."
"You really think a pair of cuffs and rope around me legs is gonna stop me."
"What can you do? You're tied up."
"Lesson number 1, make sure I can't get out of the cuffs and lesson number 2, you should make better knots."
Suddenly Marisa broke two of the pillars from the back of the chair and struck the two goons with the pieces of woods. It caught them by surprise which gave Marisa the change to take the gun of one of the men. Before the other one could grab his gun Marisa had already got hold of Janvier and put the gun against his head.
"Drop the gun, or I will shoot him," Marisa spoke. "Drop it! Now!" The man slowly put his gun on the ground. "Kick it towards me."
Marisa grabbed the gun with her foot. "Get against the wall now."
The two goons got against the wall. Marisa took the gun with her and backed out of the room. She closed the door behind her and locked it.
"You and I are going for a trip."
Suddenly Janvier took her by surprise and he got hold of her gun. Without thinking Marisa dove for the gun on the floor and shot at him. She hit him in the chest and Janvier went down. Marisa stood up and cleared him of his weapon. She checked him and noticed he was dead. She felt back onto the floor and dropped the gun on the floor. It was at that moment she noticed how much her left hand hurt. She had broken her thumb to get out of the cuffs. Just seconds later she heard the door open. She looked up and saw Callen and Sam step in.
"Dad," Marisa yelled at him.
Callen quickly walked up to her and checked her out.
"Are you okay Marisa?"
"I'm good, just my hand hurts."
Callen looked at her hand and noticed it was broken.
"Did Janvier do this?" Callen asked with bitterness in his voice.
"No, I did. To get out of the cuffs."
Callen looked around and saw Janvier lying there.
"You did that?"
"Yes, I'm sorry. He had a gun and he wanted to fire at me so I grabbed the other gun and shot him first. I'm sorry dad."
"It's okay. If you hadn't done it I probably would have."
"There are two more guys in the room over there."
"How did you get out of it?"
"I broke my thumb to get out of my cuffs and the other one I opened with the bobby pin. The ropes around my legs were easy to get off after a while. I broke off two of the pillars of the back of the chair and threw them at the two men. I disarmed one of them and held Janvier at gunpoint. I backed out of the room. Janvier caught me by surprise and grabbed the gun. I dove for the other weapon and shot him first."
"Impressive," Deeks spoke.
"I'm just glad you're alright."
"How are mom, Zac, Eric, Hetty and Nell?"
"They are fine. Don't worry about them."
The paramedics arrived and looked at Marisa. She was taken to the hospital. Callen went with her while Sam, Kensi and Deeks cleaned up at the scene. Callen called Sara on the way over there. Once Marisa was in the hospital they took her to x-rays first. Callen waited in the exam room for her. He saw Sara and Zac approach the room. Callen stood up as Sara walked over to him and wrapped his arms around her.
"How is she?" Sara asked with a sad voice.
"She'll be alright. She's not too badly injured. She'll be fine."
Sara let out a relieved sigh. "And Janvier?"
"He's dead. Marisa shot him."
"Good."
A little later Marisa was brought into the room. Zac immediately walked over her and grabbed her right hand.
"Are you okay Mari?" Zac asked concerned.
"I'm fine honey. Don't worry about me."
"I'm glad you're safe and that you're back. I was so worried about you."
"I'm fine honey."
Zac leaned towards her and kissed her. Sara walked over to the other side of the bed and put a hand on her shoulder.
"I'm glad you're alright Marisa. I was worried about you."
"I'm fine mom and Janvier is dead so you and dad don't have to worry about him anymore."
"I know, your dad told me. I'm just glad you're safe."
"I'm fine mom."
"We'll give you some privacy," Callen spoke when the doctor walked in and he and Sara walked out.
"Thank you for coming for me, dad."
"You're welcome."
The doctor took a look at the x-rays and determined that Marisa's thumb was in fact broken, but it was a clean break. So with some rest and a cast around it, it should be better within a week or 3. The doctor put a cast around her hand before checking her for further injures. He patched the wounds on her face up and cleaned her mouth. It was only her lip that was bleeding so he closed it.
"Alright, you're all good," the doctor spoke when he was done.
"Thank you doctor."
"Just keep the cast on for 3 weeks and keep it dry. After the 3 weeks are up come back here and we'll see how it looks then."
"Thank you doctor."
"I'll go write up you're discharge papers so you can go home. If the pain gets too much you can take an aspirin and if that doesn't help you can ask your doctor for pain medication."
"Thanks, but I'll think I'll be fine."
Marisa and Zac left the hospital and Zac took her home.
"I'm so sorry I put you at risk," Marisa spoke once they were on the couch. "I didn't think Janvier could escape. I'm so sorry you had to go through this. This is not your life, I wouldn't blame you if you…."
Marisa was caught off when Zac kissed her.
"Don't say that. I love you. I know this is part of your life. You're part of my life now too so it's okay. I love you and I couldn't live a day without you. Just because you're a federal agent and have enemies out there doesn't make you leave you. I will never leave you."
"You mean that?"
Zac placed his hand on her cheek. "Yes I do. I love you. I knew what was part of your life when I got involved with you. I never expected to experience it this closely, but I'm okay with it. It's your life and I love everything about you. Besides you and your family are federal agents so if anything should ever happen you will be there to protect me. I feel safe with you."
Marisa kissed him deeply. She thought Zac would have left her after this. She was happy he wouldn't.
"I love you too Zac and I'm glad you're not leaving, I didn't want you to."
"I'm not going anywhere Mari."
"That's good."
Marisa sat on his lap and kissed him deeply. "When I was in the warehouse all I could think of was you. I hoped you were okay. I knew you were locked up in OPS but I feared they had gotten inside of it and had taken you and mom as well."
"We're fine honey. You protected us."
"I'm glad. I couldn't handle seeing either one of you hurt."
"It's over now, you killed him."
"Yeah I know."
"How did you break your hand actually? Did he do it?"
"No, I did."
"You? How? Why?" Zac asked confused.
"I was in cuffs and I broke my thumb to get out of the cuffs."
"Didn't that hurt?"
"Yes, but it was the only way I could get out of them."
"So why is only your left thumb broken?"
"Because I opened the other one with my bobby pin."
"Smart."
"You learn a few things by being a federal agent. Plus I took a course how you should deal with being in captivity."
"Impressive."
"How many courses have you taken?"
"I don't know, a lot. The standard training plus some extra courses and of course language studies."
"How many languages can you speak?"
"Let's see, English of course, Czech, Russian, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Romanian and a little bit of Portuguese."
"Wow, impressive. I only had Spanish as extra language and I sucked at it."
"It comes in handy."
"Yeah I bet. Can you say something in each language?"
"Sure." Marisa thought about what to say. "I'll say something and you can guess what language it is."
"Alright, but I'm not sure I'm good at that."
"Just try. я тебя люблю," Marisa started with.
"Hmm, that sounds like Russian."
"Yes, correct. Next one."
"Wait what did you say?"
"I'll tell you later. Miluji tě."
"Hmm, that's either Czech or Romanian I think."
"Which one?"
"Romanian?" Zac hesitantly spoke.
"Nope."
"Czech then."
"Yes, next one. Te iubesc."
"Now that has to be Romanian then."
"Yes correct. Te amo.
"Hmm Spanish or Italian."
"Which do you think?"
"Italian?"
"Nope. Spanish."
"Ah damn."
"You're doing very well though. Ich liebe dich."
"That sounds like German."
"Yes correct. Ti amo.
"Now that has to be Italian then."
"Yes correct. Eu te amo."
"Portuguese?" Zac asked with a hesitant voice.
"Yes that's correct."
"Je t'aime."
"Now that has to be French then."
"Yes that's correct. See you're not that bad. Dobra robota."
"What language was that?"
"That was Polish. I only know a few words in that language."
"What did you say?"
"Well done."
"And the others?"
"I love you."
"Te amo," Zac replied. "Was that good?"
"Yes I was."
Marisa leaned in and kissed him. Zac deepened the kiss and wrapped his arms tightly around her to pull her closer. He hadn't like this whole experience but he couldn't lose Marisa. He couldn't just walk away from her just because it had gotten a little bit dangerous. Zac stood up with her in his arms and carried her over to the bedroom.
…
Callen had just arrived home with Sara. He had some paperwork to finish.
"Are you sure you're okay honey?" Callen asked Sara.
"I'm fine honey, the baby is fine too. We weren't hurt."
"Okay, that's good."
"I really hope Zac and Marisa will be okay. Zac was pretty scared when we were up there."
"They'll be fine honey. They love each other."
"I really hope so. I don't want Marisa to lose him."
"I'm sure they'll be fine."
Sara sat down on the couch and Callen sat down next to her. He rubbed his hand over her stomach and felt the baby move under his hand. He kissed her stomach. Sara loved it when Callen paid attention to her stomach.
"Daddy can't wait to meet you," Callen spoke to her stomach and Sara couldn't help but smile.
Callen sat up and kissed Sara. "I'll get started on dinner."
"Thanks G."
….
Sara was now 32 weeks pregnant and she had another appointment. Sara had a day off and Callen was going to meet her there after work. By the time she was called in Callen wasn't there yet. She had left him some messages but he hadn't called back yet. Sara thought it was the doctor who came it but to her surprise it was Callen.
"Hey baby," Sara greeted him.
"Hey honey, sorry I'm late, got tied up at work."
"It's okay, you're still on time."
The doctor came in a little later and checked on Sara and the baby. Callen was still amazed every time he heard the heartbeat of his baby and saw it on the screen. Callen and Sara were pleased to hear everything was going fine. The doctor gave them another picture and on the way out the made a new appointment next week.
They stopped by a dinner to eat something before going to birthing class. Callen was still amazed by how much Sara could eat.
They walked into the class just 5 minutes before it started. Callen helped Sara sit down on the mat and he sat behind her. Sara focused on her breathing as Callen rubbed her back. She knew how much it had hurt with Marisa. She hoped it wouldn't hurt as much this time. At least Callen was here now. By the time class had ended Callen helped Sara up. When they got home Callen but her feet on his lap and rubbed them.
"Hmm, that's good G," Sara moaned.
"You just relax honey."
"Thank you for going with my to those birthing classes."
"Of course honey. It's my baby too."
"I know. I hope you'll be there when I go into labor."
"I promise I'll be there honey. I wouldn't miss it for anything in the world."
"But what about work?"
"Don't worry about work honey, I'll be there okay."
"Alright."
Sara relaxed as Callen rubbed her feet.
….
Zac and Marisa were busy planning their wedding. Marisa totally loved the planning. She couldn't wait to be married to Zac. They were looking for a venue. They found the perfect venue. They couldn't see when it was available so Marisa called the venue.
"The earliest opening is 7 months from now," Marisa told Zac.
"That sounds fine."
"Alright, but we wanna see the venue first."
"That's fine, but it would have to be soon then, we can't hold the spot for long," the woman on the other end replied.
"That's fair enough. When can we come and look at the venue?"
"We have time later this afternoon around 4."
"That sounds fine by me."
"Alright, we'll see you then."
"Thank you." Marisa hung up the phone. "We can go over there this afternoon. We have to do it soon cus they can't hold the spot."
"I understand."
That afternoon Zac and Marisa went to the venue. It was even more beautiful than in the pictures. They were sold on this place.
"We'll take it," Marisa told the woman.
"Great, we'll go make up the paperwork."
Happily Zac and Marisa left the venue. Their wedding was going to be 7 months from now. Both of them were really excited.
As they were driving back across the bridge they could see a car coming at them from the other side. He was speeding and swirling all over the place. He came in the direction of their car. Marisa barely was able to sway out of his way. The car crashed in the water.
