A/N: Here it is, the last chapter. Don't worry. There will be a sequel. I hope you loved this story. Thank you for reading and reviewing.

Callen looked around, trying to find where his son was. He heard a nurse's voice behind him and he turned around.

"Look who's there Nick, it's your daddy," the nurse spoke and Callen turned around.

Callen was relieved to see his son and that he was okay.

"Hey little man," Callen replied as he took Nick from the nurse.

"I just took him to get a clean diaper."

"That's fine." Callen gave a small kiss to the baby's head. "How did he do last night?"

"He did very well. He's doing very well. It's up to the doctor but if he keeps this up you'll be able to take him home soon."

"Thank you. Can I take him upstairs for a while so my wife can hold him?"

"I suppose that's alright, but only for an hour or so."

"Thank you."

With Nick in his arms he walked out of the NICU. The nurse helped him with taking of the hospital gown and the slippers around his shoes. Nick lay peacefully in his arms as he walked back to Sara's room. When he walked in he saw that Sara was still asleep. Quietly he sat down on the chair and looked at the perfect little baby lying in his arms.

"Daddy loves you very much," Callen whispered to him. "Daddy is so happy to have you, mommy and your sister. Daddy will do his very best to be a good daddy to you. Daddy doesn't know that much about being a daddy but I'll do my best."

Callen looked at the little baby, his blue eyes looking up to his daddy. Callen ran his finger over Nick's little hand and Nick wrapped his fingers around Callen's finger. Callen brought his little hand up to him and kissed it.

About 10 minutes later Sara woke up. She looked around and saw Callen sitting in the chair with Nick. It was such a beautiful sight. They looked so cute together.

"Hey you two."

Callen looked up as he heard his wife's voice. "Hey honey." Callen stood up and kissed her. "Did you sleep okay?"

"Yes I slept fine. Hey little buddy."

"You wanna go to mommy?" Callen handed Nick off to Sara.

"Hey little guy." Sara stroked his cheek and gave a kiss on his head. "You could take him up here?"

"Yes, but only for an hour or so."

"That's fine. How did he do last night?"

"Very well. The nurse said that we might be able to take him home soon."

"I hope so, I don't like leaving him here in the hospital."

"Me neither honey, but it's for the best."

"Yeah I know it is."

Callen sat down next to Sara on the bed and looked at the little baby lying peacefully in Sara's arms.

"He's just perfect," Callen spoke.

"Yes he is. Our perfect little boy."

"I love you two so much."

"We love you too honey." Sara turned her head and gave Callen a kiss.

A little later Nick started fussing so Sara fed him. She exposed her breast and Nick immediately latched on. Callen watched as the baby suckled on his wife's breast. This was such a beautiful picture. Callen quickly grabbed the camera and took a picture. After Sara was done feeding she put Nick over her shoulder for burping.

A second later Marisa walked in.

"Good morning."

"Hey Marisa," Sara and Callen greeted her.

"Hey little guy," Marisa spoke in a soft voice to Nick. "How's he doing?"

"He's doing very well," Sara answered.

"That's good. He's so cute."

"Yeah he is."

"I'm so happy for you two."

"Thanks, we're happy too. Who knows, maybe this will be you and Zac in a while."

"Perhaps, I would love to have a baby with him."

"And I'm sure he would love that too."

"I've gotta get to work, I'll drop by later."

"That's fine."

"Bye little guy." Marisa gave Nick a little kiss before she left.

Callen and Sara sat there for a little while before Callen had to take Nick back to the NICU.

"Bye little guy, mommy will miss you. Be a good boy." Sara gave him kisses on his head.

Callen was just about to take him when Sara's doctor walked in.

"Hey, how's the little guy?"

"Very good, I was just about to take him back to the NICU."

"That's good. You can go with him if you like Mrs. Ramirez."

"I can?" Sara replied happily.

"Yes, you're doing fine so I'm discharging you. Just make sure you rest enough."

"Don't worry doctor I will, thank you."

The doctor left and Sara got dressed so she could go to the NICU with Callen and Nick. She packed up all the stuff she had gotten and her own stuff and put it in the bag. She saw the basket that Marisa and Zac had given them.

"I can open another present from the basket," Sara spoke and she picked a present out of the basket and opened it. It was a pair of light blue bunny slippers. "Aw look G, how cute."

"Yes they are very cute."

Nick already had slippers on so Sara put these in the back.

"Why don't you take Nick to the NICU and I'll go bring this stuff home."

"That's fine."

Callen handed Nick over to Sara.

"Daddy will be right back, you go spend time with mommy," Callen told him and gave him a soft kiss on his head. "I'll be right back honey."

"That's fine G. We'll be fine."

Callen gave her a kiss before he grabbed the stuff and went down to the car. He put everything in the car and drove home. He put all the stuff for the baby in the nursery. He looked around. He hoped that Nick would be sleeping in the crib here soon. Callen still couldn't believe he actually had a little boy. It just seemed so unreal that he had a little baby. But he really did have a little baby boy with Sara and they would bring the baby home, soon he hoped. It was going to be different with a little baby around the house. Callen grabbed some new diapers and clothes for Nick and put them in the baby bag. He grabbed a quick shower and changed himself before going back to the hospital.

Sara was holding Nick when Callen walked into the NICU.

"Hey you two," Callen greeted them with a smile on his face.

"Hey daddy." Sara smiled back at them.

Nick turned his head as he heard his father's voice.

"Hey there buddy, yes daddy's back."

They sat there for a while until Nick had fallen asleep. Callen carefully lifted him out of Sara's hands and placed him in the crib. Callen and Sara looked over the crib. He was just the most perfect little thing they had ever seen.

Callen and Sara stayed for the rest of the day in the NICU.

"Come on honey, it's time to go home," Callen told her when it was just past 8pm.

"I don't wanna go," Sara replied, holding back the tears.

"I know honey, I don't want to leave him either but we should get some rest. We'll go back first thing in the morning, I promise."

Sara didn't want to leave but she knew she had to.

"Bye little guy, mommy will miss you. Mommy will be back tomorrow. Mommy loves you."

She gave him a small kiss on his head and stroked his little cheek.

"Bye baby."

Sara cried a bit as she walked out of the NICU. She hated leaving Nick there.

"Why don't you go get a nice bath?" Callen told her when they were home.

Sara didn't respond.

"Hey honey," Callen spoke to her as he wrapped his arms around her waist. "It'll be okay. Nick is fine there in the NICU and we'll be able to bring him home before we know it."

"I hope so, I hate leaving him there."

"Me too, but it's for the best. They just want to make sure that he's fine."

"I know, I know. I just don't like it. I want him home with me," Sara cried.

Callen pulled her in for a hug. "I know honey, I know. Me too. It's gonna be okay. We'll be able to take him home soon. It's gonna be okay honey."

Callen drew her a bath. While she was in the tub Callen got some laundry done and cleaned the house up a bit.

Callen woke up in the middle of the night and noticed Sara wasn't in the bed. He got out and went to look for her. He found her in the nursery.

"Hey honey, here you are." Sara sat in the rocking chair. "Hey honey, you okay?"

"I just couldn't sleep. I miss Nick."

"I know honey, me too. We'll go see him in the morning, I promise."

"I know, I just wished he was home already."

"Me too. He'll be home soon honey. Come on, let's go back to bed."

Callen took her back to bed and Sara crawled against him.

"It's gonna be okay honey. Nick will be fine."

Callen kissed her head and held her in his arms as the fell asleep again.

It had been a week since Nick was born. He was doing very well. Callen and Sara hoped they could take him home soon. Sara missed him so much when she was at home. She had wondered into the nursery quite often, especially before going to sleep. Every day she had opened another present from the gift basket. There were only 3 presents left.

In addition to the two gifts she had opened already she had gotten a rattle, a stuffed animal, a fairytale book, a blue with white stars swim shorts and a play gym.

Sara was holding Nick when the doctor walked in.

"I have good news for you," the doctor spoke. "You can take Nick home today."

"Really?" Sara asked with a big smile on her face.

"Yes really, he's doing very well."

"Thank you doctor."

"You're welcome. And I'll see you in two weeks for a checkup."

"Yes doctor."

The doctor left and Callen and Sara looked at each other.

"We can take our boy home," Sara told him happily.

"Yes we can, finally."

They packed up Nick's stuff. The nurses all came by to say goodbye to them. Sara carried Nick out to the car and placed him in his car seat. She got in the back with him and Callen drove them home. Sara carried him to the door in his car seat and Callen opened the door.

Callen looked around the house. There was a banner above the fireplace that read 'Welcome home Nick' and some blue balloons decorated the living room.

"Welcome home Nick," Marisa spoke as she jumped out of the kitchen.

"You did this Marisa?"

"Yes I did. I wanted to do something nice for my little brother."

"That's nice, but how did you know he was coming home?"

"I asked the doctor to let me know when you would be able to take Nick home."

"Thank you sweetie, that's really nice," Sara told her daughter as she hugged her.

"You're welcome mom."

"And thank you for all the wonderful gifts, only 3 left."

"You're welcome. It's my pleasure." Marisa walked over to the car seat. "Hey little brother."

Marisa picked him up out of his car seat and held him in her arms. "You're such a cute little boy. You're a very lucky boy with Sara and G as your mommy and daddy and me as your big sister."

Callen and Sara looked as Marisa held Nick and talked to him. She would be a great big sister and an amazing mother someday.

"I'm sure mommy and daddy are happy that you're home. I know they've missed you. Now don't give mommy and daddy a hard time and try to let them get some sleep at night." Nick just smiled up at her. "You're such a cute little boy."

Marisa handed Nick over to Sara.

"I should get to work, enjoy the day you three."

"We will, thank you for stopping by."

"It's my pleasure. Bye my little brother." Marisa gave a soft kiss on his head and she left for work.

"She's so sweet," Sara spoke once Marisa was gone.

"Yeah she is. Her adoptive parents raised her well."

"Yes they did."

15 minutes later Marisa walked into the office.

"How is little Mr. Callen?" Hetty asked as Marisa walked into her office.

"He's doing very well. They got to take him home this morning."

"That's very good."

"Yes he's doing very well. They look so happy together."

"Yes that they do."

They were interrupted by Eric's whistled.

…..

Callen and Sara sat on the couch with the baby lying in Sara's arms.

"I could just hold him all day," Sara stated.

"Yeah I know me too. It's gonna be a little getting used to, now that he's home."

"Yes, it will be. But I'm so happy to have him home with us."

"Me too. No more sitting in the NICU. He can finally sleep in his own crib."

"Yes he can."

A little later Nick started fussing.

"I think he needs a diaper change."

"Allow me," Callen told her and he took Nick from her hands.

Callen walked to the nursery and Sara followed. She watched as Callen changed the diaper. He had gotten better at it. Once he was done he blew kisses on Nick's tummy. Nick smiled as Callen did so. Sara quickly grabbed her phone and filmed it. Callen looked so cute being a daddy.

Callen saw Sara filming him.

"Don't you dare show that to any of the team," Callen told her.

"Aw Agent Callen too embarrassed to show the team his soft side," Sara responded with a smile.

Callen smiled back at her. He picked Nick up and took him back to the living room. Callen put him down on the floor on his play mat. Callen lay down next to him watched him as Nick played with his rattle. Sara took some more pictures of them. She loved seeing Callen with their little baby. It was so cute. She wished he had been around with Marisa as well but at least they had another change. It was clear to her that Callen loved her and their little baby. Sara sat on the couch and watched them play.

About an hour later Callen handed Nick over to Sara so she could feed him. After she was done feeding him they took him to his room for his afternoon nap. Sara changed him into his pajamas and carefully placed him in his crib.

"He's finally lying in his own crib," Callen spoke.

"Yes he is," Sara replied with a crack in her voice.

"You okay honey?"

"Yeah, I'm just glad to have him home."

"Yeah me too."

"He's so beautiful."

"Yes that he is. Our little baby, he's so cute."

Callen and Sara stood watching him for a while as he fell asleep. Callen pulled his phone out and took a picture of him sleeping.

After 20 minutes or so they quietly left the room and went back to the living room. Callen and Sara went outside and sat in the hammock. Sara was lying against Callen's chest with her back.

"It's weird, that there's no baby in here anymore," Callen told her and he moved his hand over her stomach.

"Yeah I know. For so long I carried it around inside of me and now he's here."

"Yes he is. And I couldn't be happier. My life is perfect with you and Nick here."

"Yes, it is perfect."

Callen and Sara sat in the hammock for a while and Callen noticed Sara had fallen asleep. Callen stayed there until he heard Nick crying over the monitor. He quietly got up, without waking up Sara. He took the monitor inside and went to Nick's room.

"Hey little buddy, it's okay, daddy's here."

Callen picked him up and gently rocked him in his arms until he was calmed down. Callen changed his diaper and dressed him again. He took him outside and placed him in his bouncy chair in the shade. Nick was content, lying there and playing with his rattle.

Callen couldn't keep his eyes of Nick, his little boy, his son. His and Sara's beautiful little boy. Sam was right, there was nothing like seeing your baby being born and holding him for the first time. He was only a week old but Callen couldn't imagine a life without him already. He promised himself that he would do everything he could to be a good father and to raise him well and keep him safe. Callen looked at him and he hadn't noticed that Sara had woken up.

"Hey you two," Sara spoke as she walked over to them.

"Hey honey, did you sleep okay?"

"Yes I did, thank you for letting me get some sleep."

"It's okay honey."

As soon as Nick heard his mother's voice he started fussing. He wanted to be fed. Sara picked him up and sat down on the chair and fed him.

Just before they put him in bed they put him in bath. Callen watched as Sara bathed him.

"Make sure you hold his head while you bath him so he won't go under and gently splash water on him," Sara instructed Callen.

"I think I can manage it."

Once he was done Sara wrapped him up in a towel and dried him off before dressing him in his pajamas. They both gave Nick a soft kiss on his head before Sara put him down in his crib and turned on his music mobile.

"Goodnight my little baby," Sara told him.

"Goodnight buddy."

They both gave Nick one more kiss before they left the room.

"Why don't you and I go take a nice hot bath together?" Callen suggested.

"That's sounds nice. But don't you try something. I can't have sex yet."

"I know honey and I'll try my best," Callen replied with a smirk.

"Oh you." Sara playfully hit him in the chest and kissed him. "I love you."

"I love you too."

Callen filled the tub and together they got in. Sara sat with her back against Callen and Callen had his arms around her. The baby monitor stood on the sink so they could hear Nick.

"Thank you for giving me this wonderful baby," Callen told Sara.

"You're welcome and thank you too. I'm so happy."

"Me too honey, me too. I never thought I would get a change to have this, but thanks to you I have now. I'm so happy to have you, Nick and Marisa in my life."

"I'm really glad to you and Marisa found each other. I'm glad she got to know her father."

"I'm glad I got to know her too. Being here with you and being with you while you carry our baby and now that he's here, I'm sorry I missed out on this when you were pregnant with Marisa."

"Yeah, I wished you were there too. But that's in the past, we can't change it. At least we are together now and we're a family."

"Yes we are."

Callen and Sara stayed in the tub until it got cold. Sara fed Nick once more before she went to bed. Once she was in bed Sara crawled close to Callen. Callen wrapped his arms around her and held her close. He wondered how the first night with Nick at home would go. He had read that babies tend to wake up some times during the night in the first few months. He had already agreed with himself that he would go out at night so Sara could get some sleep.

After lying awake for a while, thinking about his life at the moment Callen fell asleep too. It seemed to Callen that he had just fallen asleep when he got woken up by Nick's crying.

"I'll go honey," Callen told Sara and gave her a kiss.

Callen walked to the nursery and picked up Nick.

"Hey what's the matter little guy?"

Callen tried to calm him down but nothing was working so he figured Nick was hungry. He took him to the bedroom so Sara could feed him

"I think our little boy is hungry."

Sara sat up in bed and Callen handed Nick to her. Sara exposed her breast and Nick immediately latched on.

"There's a good boy," Sara spoke in a sleepy voice.

"You know honey, if we have bottles I could feed him at night too."

"I like feeding him."

"I know. I'm just saying it might be easier if I fed him at night so you can sleep."

"That's sweet of you honey. Yeah maybe that's a good idea."

Callen sat next to Sara on the bed and looked at their little boy suckling on his wife's breast.

"He's drinking very well," Callen stated.

"Yes he is, thankfully."

Once he was done drinking Sara put him over her shoulder for burping. Sara lay down on the bed with Nick on her chest. After a while Nick had fallen asleep again.

"Shall I take him back to his bed?"

"No, I'd like to keep him here just a little while longer."

Sara looked at the perfect little boy asleep on her chest. A little later Sara had fallen asleep too. Callen grabbed Nick from her and placed him on his chest. Callen looked at him. He gently stroked his back as Nick slept.

Callen didn't sleep much the remainder of the night. He kept looking at the perfect little boy lying on his chest.

Sara woke up the next morning and saw Callen lying next to her with Nick on his chest.

"Good morning," Sara whispered.

"Good morning honey, how did you sleep?"

"Good. Did our little boy sleep through the night after I fed him again?"

"Yes he did."

"That's good."

Sara crawled close to Callen and placed her head on his shoulder. Callen immediately wrapped his arm around her. He held Sara in on arm and Nick in the other. His life was perfect at this moment. Nick slowly started to wake up. Sara rubbed his cheek with her finger.

"Hey little guy. Good morning."

Nick stretched himself on Callen's chest and yawned. Callen and Sara smiled. It looked so cute. Sara gave him a small kiss and Nick tried to lift his head up to look at her. Callen lifted him up and turned him on his side so he could look at his mother.

"Hey sweetie."

Sara could stay here forever. A little later Nick started fussing so Sara fed him. Once he was fed and burped Callen took him to the nursery and changed his diaper and changed him and dressed him into an outfit they had gotten from Marisa, the light blue shirt with the text: 'No. 1 little brother' and the white cotton pants.

"Aw he looks so cute in that," Sara spoke as Callen came walked into the kitchen with Nick.

"Yeah he does. I was actually thinking of dropping by the office with him today."

"I think that's very nice."

Callen put Nick in his bouncy chair so he and Sara could have breakfast. After breakfast they loaded Nick into the car and drove to office.

"Hey guys," Callen spoke as they walked into the bullpen with Sara carrying Nick in his car seat.

"Hey," the others greeted back.

Marisa was the first one up and she walked over to Nick.

"Hey little brother." Nick smiled as Marisa tickled his tummy. "He looks really cute in these clothes."

"Yes he does."

"How did the first night with him at home go?" Sam asked.

"It was fine," Callen answered. "Just a little getting used to. But he's doing very well. He only woke up once during the night."

"You're lucky. My little girl woke up 3 times at night the first few weeks."

"Yeah Marisa did too," Sara spoke.

"Hello Mr. and Mrs. Callen," Hetty spoke as she walked into the bullpen. "I hope everything's fine with you two and Nick."

"Yes everything is fine Hetty," Callen replied. "We just stopped by the office with Nick."

"That's fine, it's a slow morning so you can stay for a while."

"Thanks Hetty."

Marisa had already picked up Nick out of his car seat. Nick was okay with lying in her arms.

"You're a natural," Sara told her.

"Oh I don't know about a natural mom, I just love babies."

"Yes I can see that."

"I don't think it will be long before you and Zac have one of your own," Callen added.

"I would be really happy to have a baby with Zac, but I think we'll wait until after the wedding."

"I think you would make a great mother," Sam told her.

"Thank you Sam."

Callen and Sara stayed for a while and Nick was passed around, which he didn't mind. Callen and Sara left about an hour later. They stopped by the grocery store on their way home.

Nick was now a month old. Callen and Sara had settled into a nice rhythm. Callen went out at night and fed him too if he needed to. Callen had returned to work full time 2 weeks ago. Sara was still on maternity leave. Callen and Sara were both happy with their home life. Sara saw how much Callen changed since Nick was born. He was such a cute daddy. Nick loved being around him. Every time he heard Callen's voice he would smile. He was definitely a little daddy's boy.

The end. Thank you for following this story. I really appreciate all the reviews.
