Chapter 22

"So how did you break your hand then?" Tina asked Rachel as they walked down the hall.

"I was shutting a drawer and my hand slammed in it," Rachel sighed and stopped to open her locker. "It hurt really badly. Please don't point it out in glee club, though."

"Why not?"

"Finn will think it's his fault," Rachel shrugged. "And don't ask why."

"Okay, I won't bring it up," Tina nodded and turned into her next class. "See you later, Rachel."

Rachel sighed when she saw Finn standing down the hall talking to Quinn and she began to make her way towards them.

"So what did she say?" Quinn asked, clearly concerned.

"She said she wanted me to stop talking about you and never mention your name again. And then she said she didn't care about you or anything I had to say about you," Finn said, looking into his locker for his history book.

"I'm so sorry, Finn; if I would've known this was going to happen, I never would've kissed you," She sighed and opened her locker that was next to his.

"It's not your fault, Q. Stop saying it is," He sighed.

"Hey, Finn, can I talk to you?" Rachel said when she finally approached them.

Quinn simply nodded and walked the other direction only to be interrupted by Puck standing by the door to her next class.

"Hey," Finn said, slamming his locker shut and glancing down at her wrapped fingers. "What happened to your hand?"

"I broke my fingers," Rachel said, looking down at them. "Three of them."

"Wow, how did it happen?" He asked, getting worried.

"Slammed them in the knife drawer," Rachel told him, looking back up at him.

"Rach, you said your dad wasn't going to hurt you again," He looked at her in the eyes.

"He didn't, I did this to myself." She looked away again. "I was mad and I was listening to a sad song so I accidently shut the knife drawer on my hand."

He looked at her sympathetically and they just stared at each other for a second before she stood up on her tip-toes and kissed him. He kissed her back after a few moments of hesitation and eventually she started to deepen it, slightly smiling against his lips.

"I'm so sorry, Finn," She mumbled when they pulled away from each other.

"Don't be, I was a jerk, I get it," He nodded.

She shook her head and leaned against the lockers next to her. "I have a doctor appointment after school."

"Do you need me to take you?" He asked. She nodded and smiled slightly. "Cool."

"What were you talking to her about?" Rachel looked down the hall at the sad blonde talking to Puck.

"Hey," Puck smirked when he ran into Quinn. "What's up?"

"I need to get to class," Quinn mumbled, trying to avoid talking to him.

"You can't ignore me forever, Quinn; this is gonna happen," He shrugged and followed her as she turned into her English class. She sat in her desk and opened her book, starting to read a chapter about the Indian Removal Act.

"Stop doing this, I'm way more interesting than Tecoosah." He rolled his eyes.

"It's actually Tecumseh," Quinn said.

"Whatever, my point is, I want to be with you, Quinn. Why won't you give me a chance?" He frowned, sitting in the desk in front of her.

"I'm really confused right now, okay? I'm torn between two guys and then there's Finn and I don't know what to do about any of it anymore," She sighed and glanced over at Finn and Rachel as they sat down a few desks away from her.

"We were just talking about you, it's not important, don't worry," Finn assured her, trying to smile as he opened his textbook. "Crap I forgot to do the homework."

Rachel laughed a little and smiled. "I've missed you."

"Can we be happy again?" Finn asked, smiling a little when he looks up from the book. "You know, be in love?"

"I guess," She nodded, laughing again. "I don't know if I'm ready yet."

"Ready for what?" He asked, quickly filling in a few answers on his homework before looking back at her and smiling.

"Ready to have a baby and get married and move to New York, all of it," Rachel sighed, leaning back in her chair. "I just don't know if I'm as strong as I think I am; like how do I know it's gonna happen? How do you know I can do it?"

"You can, I know it," Finn smiled, reaching for her hand. "You're gonna get into NYADA and you're going to do awesome there. And I'm gonna go to Connecticut and then we're gonna graduate and get married and everything is going to be perfect."

Rachel nodded and sighed, relieved. "I know, it's gonna be okay." She smiled slightly and stood up, walking to her assigned seat when the teacher walked in.

"I don't care what you say, I'm gonna keep fighting for you no matter how hard it gets," Puck shrugged and turned around to face the teacher.

Rachel put in her locker combination and sighed when it wouldn't work, hitting it a little and then shaking her hand from the pain. "Fine, be that way," She rolled her eyes and a few kids laughed at her as they walked by. "Shut up and leave me alone, my life is none of your business."

"Whoa, just tryin' to be friendly, slut," Alison put her hands up defensively and high-fived Emily as they walked past her.

"Rachel Berry, please come to the office," Principal Figgins said over the loud speaker.

"Okay you know what, Lohan? I'm really sick of you saying I'm a slut when you're the one who's slept with pretty much every guy in this school and made out with my boyfriend at least three times. So leave me alone or I'm gonna tell Santana and Quinn to get you kicked off the cheerios for me. And I know you wouldn't want that," Rachel said strictly before turning around and walking towards the office.

"I'm really getting sick of hearing people call me Lohan because of a few mistakes I've made," Alison shook her head and Emily patted her shoulder while they walked away.

"Principal Figgins, you wanted to speak to me?" Rachel asked as she walked into the office but smiled when she saw Allie standing in the office. "Allie? What are you doing here?"

Allie had a huge grin on her face as she hugged Rachel. "Hey! I have a surprise for you!"

"What is it?" Rachel smiled and hugged her back tightly. "How did your audition for The Sound of Music go?"

Allie shook her head, still smiling. "Never mind that, I got it, but that's not why I came. I'm back because it's your aunt, my sister's, birthday next week so I'm in town until then. Your dads sent me to give you something."

Rachel looked at her extremely confused until Allie gave her a letter that was addressed to 'Miss Rachel Berry' from NYADA. "Oh my God are you serious?! What does it say?"

"I don't know, I haven't opened it yet," Allie shrugged and smiled. "Open it, Rachel."

Cliff hanger! I'm sorry, I just had to do that :D Review or PM ideas and what you thought please :) I'm having major writer's block. :D
