Chapter 7 - Torture

She didn't say anything just went upstairs knowing that Konan was going to follow her and ask her questions. And she was not in the mood for answering them. "I..." she tried saying something but couldn't. "There's no need for you to say anything. I will leave you alone for now. Rest, ok?" As Konan was about to leave the room Sakura could just watch. "Thank you." this is the only thing she said. However she knew that things wouldn't remain like this.

Itachi didn't follow her as she thought. She stayed there on her bed in the dark night looking over the window to see a movement, anything, but useless. She somehow knew deep inside that he wouldn't follow her after what happened. She knew he had to rethink everything she said. It was around 4 in the morning and she was still now sleeping. Her eyes and mind were crying for a good sleep but she just couldn't rest. There she saw it. A shadow at the entrance of the hideout. It was no other than him. She was glad but didn't know why. Then a few seconds later a knock could be heard on her door.

"Hm? Who is it?" she asked with her low voice.

"Itachi." the reply wasn't fast, it was rather slow. She hardly heard his voice but still heard it. She decided she was not going to have mercy at all. She wouldn't let her emotions and feelings take over her. Sakura went at the door and opened it. "What do you want?" she trully didn't have any mercy.

"We need to talk." he looked tired and Sakura supposed that he trained until exhaustion.

" not now." She looked at him straight in the eyes to see his reaction. But he didn't have any. He was just staying there, in the door, watching her trying to figure out what is going on in her mind. They were both trying to read each other, but without success. "I would like it if you left my room."

"Why are you doing this?" His question took her by surprise and she didn't know how to react. "I am not doing anything. I just want to live my life away from this chaos. And don't worry because I will be leaving in a few hours. But before I leave I will tell you the truth." that's the only thing she said.

"So you won't be staying in Akatsuki anymore." Sakura already decided what she was going to do. "Are you trying to run away now?" Sakura was angry now at what he said. She rushed towards him and pinned him to the wall. "Listen here Uchiha. I am not running away and I will never run away. Is it that much of a crime for a person to want to breathe some fresh air? Because I am sick of everything around here: Akatsuki, Sasuke, you. I might have not killed Tsunade, Naruto or Sasuke. But I am not a saint. I killed many other people and I am not proud of myself for doing that." Soon enough Sakura froze. Without thinking she told him everything on the spur of the moment.

"Sakura..." Konan's voice and was heard a few meters away and Sakura looked at her. She was holding Yasuo in her arms who was rubbing his eyes. She let go of Itachi and went towards her."I am sorry Konan-san. I woke up the lil baby right? I appologise for that." Konan was looking now at Sakura, now at Itachi. She saw that Konan was surprised about what she said but she didn't see Itachi's reaction, though she could imagine it.

"Konan-san..." Konan was still looking at Sakura.

"So all this time...You lied?" Konan asked.

Sakura knew that this was not going to end here. She had to be strong for what was going to happen from now. She smiled at her and regained her composture. "Of course. Did you really believe everything I said?" afterwards Konan turned around to leave. Sakura had to brace herself for the upcoming events. "Don't worry, I will be leaving soon." she told Itachi without looking at him. Then it hit Itachi.

"You..." he tried to say something looking her straight in the eye, but just the thought of the late events

"She will not do anything." Hidan appeared out of nowhere being followed by the other members and was staring at her.

"Fortunately I heard your conversation on the hill." Deidara was looking at Hidan trying to figure out what he meant.

"Hill? COnversation? What are you talking about Hidan?" Sasori was questioning inside his mind everything Hidan said a while ago.

"This little girl is no murderer. Everything she said was a lie." Everyone except Itachi was looking at Hidan. He was the only one staring her with his intense gaze.

"A perfect liar, aren't I? Thinking about the fact that I managed to bring Akatsuki to this point. You all really are stupid huh?" Kakuzu didn't wait anymore for orders. He used his jutsu to catch Sakura off-guard. He pinned her to the wall her members being imobilized by Kakuzu's strings of chakra.

"Let her down." was all Itachi said. "I will take care of her from now." He glared at the girl in pain. She was also looking at him her eyes betraying her pain. "Don't you dare...use that shit on me, Uchiha. ARGH !"

"Very well Itachi. Just be carefull not to kill her as we need to get out datas from her you know? We need her alive." that was all Obito said as he was leaving the others. He just gave Sakura one more look before disappearing out of sight.

"Heh. Played the right cards huh?" Sakura was grinning at Hidan and the people behind him. Kakuzu removed his jutsu as he saw that Itachi has her under his control.

"We'll be leaving this to you Itachi-san." was all Sasori said and they all left. The only ones left were Itachi and Sakura staring at each other. The silence and darkness filled the hall though not for a long time.

"What are you going to do now huh? Use that bloodline jutsu of yours?" Sakura was spilling blood.

"You're wrong Haruno. In fact I have been using it on you all this time." he said coldly. "Now...Tell me what you said just earlier." Sakura looked at the side. It was so stupid of her. "How could I let myself get carried away like this?" this is what she thought to herself. "Oh well. I planned anyway to tell you this before I left. But not going to anymore.

Hidan will eventually tell you everything if he really was on the hill."

"Who did you meet with there?" he asked her.

"And why would I tell you? From what I recall we're not so close Uchiha." he flinched at the way she starting calling him again. Uchiha.

"Very well." he used Sharingan again on her and because of stress she eventually fainted. He brought her small, injured body to an empty room which seemed like a torture room. Darkness and coldness filled the room as Sakura began to wake up a few hours later only to find Itachi in front of her in a chair ready to torture her and a smile candle litting by her side.

"I am not going to tell you anything." she mumbled spilling blood. She looked at her body only to see her wounds starting to close. "You've always been this stubborn haven't you? What will you gain out of it? Nothing. And yesterday...you said maybe you didn't kill Sasuke...What did you mean by that?" Sakura was pinned to the cold wall by 2 chains on her bare arms. Looking at the ground she shook her head. "I did say that. But I am not going to betray Konoha even if I am declared a rogue nin, Uchiha. You should know that better than anyone, don't you?" she looked at him.

"I don't know what you're talking about kunoichi." he replied. "However I am amazed at your regeneration. Your chakra should be depleted by now..." he kept talking. "How the hell she manages to heal herself without her chakra?" but his thinking face was met with a smile from her.

"You know nothing about me Uchiha Itachi. However I know everything about you. Even your most hidden secrets that you would never let Sasuke know. ARGH !" he again used his sharingan. Her words intrigued him more and more and he wanted to know everything but he knew one thing. She was just like him. She would never betray her village nor her teammates. She was exactly like him.

*knock knock knock*

"Uchiha-san. Here is someone who wants to see you." Konan said behind the door.

"She will not tell you anything even if you torture her...brother." the person who just entered was no other than Uchiha Sasuke. Itachi heard very well. Behind him was his one and only brother, alive. "Why don't you let me tell you everything from the very beginning?"

"DON"T ! DON'T YOU DARE SAY MORE !" Itachi was looking now at Sakura, now at Sasuke.

"Sasuke...?"

"Sakura. Konoha cannot afford to lose you. And you know why. Why the hell are you getting yourself in trouble for nothing? Allying with Akatsuki and then being taken as a prisoner by them...Have you gone nuts?"

"My decisions have nothing to do with you anymore. The moment you killed them...my sister and..."

"Your baby." Itachi said without thinking. "So you haven't lost your abilities yet right, Itachi? You were always considered the only smart, bright and able to do anything. But I didn't come here to fight you. I already know everything.

Sakura told me." he said looking around the room trying to find where she was. And there he saw her. A small almost lifeless body on the ground in darkness. "What the...SAKURA ! WHAT THE HELL DID YOU DO TO HER?" sasuked yelled and ran towards her. "Let's go back."

"Get away from me." she choked. "I already said I will not be returning to the village." Itachi took one more glance at her and Sasuke and for a moment he thought as himself instead of his brother.

"If you take her they will know Sasuke...so take her and leave. I will distract them for a while. But they will figure out soon eventually and will come after you."

"How could you do this to her after all that happened? And What about you?" Sasuke asked looking at his brother. "Don't worry about me. Just take her back safely." he replied.

"Itachi...You don't remember at all?" Sasuke was holding Sakura, almost lifeless on his back. Her breath was lowering and he felt her heart slowing too it's heartbeats.

"N-No...Sasuke...He doesn't know...I am just a weakling...not being able to protect our baby..." Itachi heard her heart stoping. "Sa-Sakura...Hey wake up...I am telling you to wake up."

"What's going on?" Itachi asked. "What is happening to her?" Sasuke could see that Itachi was trouble by her sudden heart stop.

"Don't worry. Sakura will be fine. After all this is her own jutsu." Sasuke replied.

"What do you mean?" itachi was visibly surprised at what Sasuke said.

"She is an important ANBU captain to Konoha. Didn't you know this?"

"No, I didn't. Her? A captain?" Itachi was speechless. He expected her to be an important because of her being a medic but he didn't expect to be that important.

"I will tell you everything when you're back in the village. Until then brother..." saying these Sasuke disappeared out of Itachi's sight.

"Uchiha-san is everything alright inside?" Konan opened the door to see that Itachi was alone. "I see. So, does this mean that you'll be going back?"she asked already knowing the answer.

"Yes. My brother already knows everything. Just tell everyone that there's no need to look for us. There is no need for me to stay here anymore." Saying these Itachi vanished into thin air.
