Sorry for the loooooooong wait everypony! I was really busy last week and I didn`t have time to write. I`ve got the results of the votes and the readers have decided you will find out what the answer is though out the chapters. Now I`m going to be quite and let you read!

The big days as finally arrived! Today Night was going to sign up into the royals' guards. Today he will start his training to become a protector of Equestria! And Cloud Kingdom. Who he is in great debt to their rulers for letting him join their royal guards. But the week before they was a few ponies who didn`t want him to join the guards, they saw him as an important pony who needed protecting. But eventually the heat died down on the recent news of a royal joining the guards.
Night stood in front of the cloud Kingdom`s recruitment headquarters
"Are you ready?" ask a mare`s voice
Night turn around to see the mare "Of course I am, Crescent" said Night as he turn back "I`ve been ready for years"
"This is something big Night your making history!" said Crescent as she smiled at him
"I know! I still can`t believe it!" said Night as he smiled at her
Crescent smile back at him with a blush "You should sign up Night"
"Alright! Do you want to come with me?" ask Night as he headed towards the doors
"Okay" said Crescent as she followed him in
Night sign all the papers needed and was informed to show up for the first day of training by tomorrow. Nigh, Crescent, his father and mother all arrived at the royal guards' training area in Canterlot.
"Wow! This place is big!" said Crescent as she started at the big doors with the Empire`s, Cloud Kingdom and Canterlot emblems on top of the doors
"Father are you sure it`s here?" ask Night as he suspected it would be in Cloud Kingdom and not in Canterlot
"It is son" said Flash "When the kingdom return the princesses all decided to train their new guards together. It was to represent their unity and that they would come to each other's help in times of need"
"Wow!" said Night and Crescent as they stare back at the three emblems
On a microphone
"All new recruits must be present by 3 clocks!" said the announcer
"Look like its time" said Night as he turn around to says his goodbyes
"You do your best alright?!" said Twilight as she hug her son tightly
"I will mom" said Night
"We`re proud of you son" said Flash as he join in the hug
"Goodbye Night you do your best and come back as the best royal guard ever" said Crescent as she smile at him "Here I got you this wing clip"
Night removed himself from his parents' hugs and walk towards her and gave her a surprise hug.
"Thank you Crescent" said Night
"You're welcome" said Crescent as she smile at him
"This is not goodbye Crescent" said Night "This is only the beginning and beside its not far so I`ll come to visit"
Crescent didn`t know what to answer she was still surprise and was blushing by the hug
"Goodbye everypony!" said Night as he waved at them
The doors closed on his old life and new ones opened for a new one. As Night was heading to his room he notice many new recruits staring at him some even bowed at him. Thinking that he was doing a royal visit but we`re very surprise to find out his true intentions.
"A royal in the royal guards?" mumbled a pony
"How is this possible?" mumble another
"Which branch is he going to serve?" ask another
"Cloud Kingdom I think?" answered another pony
"What?! Are you sure?" ask another pony "Why would the ruler there want to do that?"
"Who knows?" said another pony
Night stop walking and turn around to face the recruits "I`m here to become a royal guard! I`m here to become a strong pony so I can protect the ponies who are important to me! So don`t treat me like a royal but another normal stallion from Ponyville who came here like all of you did!" said Night as he stared at them all
"You got guts" said a buff earth pony with black eyes, light green mane, white coat and a light brown hooves with a shade of blue and white making an checker broad sharp behind a shield along with on yellow star on the top right corner "So what branch are you going to join?"
"Thanks I guess" said Night as he extended his hoof at him "Nightwing and I`m going to join Cloud Kingdom"
"I know" said the earth pony as he smile at him "I`m Strong Steed and I`m hoping to join the Crystal empire`s" as he shake his hoof
"Strong steed it sounds like a military name?" ask Night
"It is I`m going to be the tenth generation of royal guards" said Strong
"Wow! Impressive" said Night
"Hello recruits!" shouted a pony "As you all know I`m Shining Armour!"
"Shining Armor! Isn`t he your uncle?" ask Strong
"He is" said Night
"Now listen up! This next two months will be the hardest in your life but the reward is to protect your follow pony!" said Shining as he examine the new recruits "Training starts at 6 am tomorrow morning!" as he walk away.
The next morning at 5: 59 Strong awoke to see that Night was already ready and was waiting for her fellow ponies.
"Nightwing? How long have you been up?" ask Strong as he rubs his eyes
"Since 5 I was o excited to sleep" said Night
"Your one crazy pony" said Strong as he made his bed
All the recruits went to the yard and met their instructors for the next two months
"Hello recruits today your all going to do ten laps around the arena!" said the instructor
"But some of us are Pegasus!" said a Pegasus pony
"I don`t care!" shouted the instructor "Now...RUN!"
As the recruits were running Shining Armor came to see the pony in charged
"Sir" said the instructor as he bowed his head
"How is it going?" ask Shining
"Fine but isn`t that your sister`s son?" ask the instructor as he pointed at Night
"He is" said Shining as he look at him "My sister and her husband along with Queen Lightning all decided that he could join the guars"
"Are you sure?" ask the instructor
"We`re sure now go on and train them into Equestria finest" said Shining as he walk away
"Yes sir" said the instructor
As the days pass the instructors made the recruits training into a nightmare many ponies we`re unable to do it. But Night and Strong both were able to do and was the top of their class. Until one training excise made Night unable to pass.
"Alright today you're going to do protect this dummy but you have to imagine this is a pony you love" said the instructor
"So do we imagine it's a family member?" ask a pony
"Yea can we imagine it's our marefriend?" ask another pony
"Yay!" shouted a unicorn
"Come on sir! Please!" shouted a Pegasus
"Alright! Imagine it's your marefriend!" said the instructor as he rolled his eyes
"A marefriend" said Night as he tried to think of a mare he could think about "Well I can`t think about mom..."
"Hey! Night do you have a mare waiting for you at home?" ask Strong as he hoof bump him
"Well no I think?" said Night as he thought about Crescent and Skyangle
"So is it no or yes?" ask Strong
"Do you have one?" ask Night hoping on changing the subject
"I do! A beautiful earth pony" said Strong
"Alright begin!" said the instructor
As all the other recruits started their protection dummy, Night just stood there and thought about who he could think about.
"NIGHT!" shouted the instructor
"Yes!" said Night
"Start!" said the instructor as he waited for him to beginning
Night took his necklace in his hoof and stared at it "A mare I want to protect? A mare I love?" as he stared at the wing clip that Crescent got him "Alright! I can do this!"
